In sad news it was revealed this morning that Yoshiaki Yatsu has had his right foot amputated due to diabetes. Yahoo Japan/Weekly FLASH interviewed Yatsu from his hospital bed a few days after his surgery happened. Yatsu intends to get an artificial foot so he can walk again. At 62 years old, Yatsu joined DDT in April for a return to pro wrestling alongside Japan’s preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games. He came in with the intention of having one match a month but discovered problems in his right foot on 23rd June. Yatsu said he was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 35 and he used medication to keep it under control. On 25th June he had the surgery to get his foot amputated. DDT announced Yatsu’s absence from “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019” on 27th June but his situation was kept private by all parties until today. Sanshiro Takagi tweeted that he wants to help Yatsu and DDT sends him their support during his rehabilitation.
