It was announced today that Daichi Sato made a request to transfer from HEAT-UP to DDT. After discussions between the two companies it was decided that Sato will leave HEAT-UP on 5th April and officially become a DDT wrestler on the 6th. Until then he will be finishing up his remaining bookings with HEAT-UP. Sato tweeted that he is very grateful for the support HEAT-UP has given him since his debut and he owes everything to Kazuhiro Tamura and the rest of the staff there.
DDT has been scouting Sato for pretty much the entirety of his young career. At 16 years old he stands 177cm tall, weighs 120kg and already has over three years of experience under his belt. When he had his debut match at 13 years old DDT quickly booked him on their short lived DDTeeeen!! show a month later and were impressed with his potential. Back in November of last year they began to book him on a regular basis in matches that put him in the ring with many of DDT’s mainstays. Young heavyweights are something that DDT has been on the lookout for for quite some time now so a move like this felt inevitable.
