Yoshiko Hasegawa To Retire In July

There was a press conference held in Shinjuku today where Yoshiko Hasegawa announced she will be graduating from Tokyo Joshi Pro and retiring from pro wrestling on 8th July. Hasegawa said she had originally considered retirement one year ago after she left Ganbare☆Pro and struggled with working on her own as a freelancer. But she met with Sanshiro Takagi who told her she should do whatever she wants to do. She wanted to be in TJPW so a deal was made between her and Tetsuya Koda to become a regular part of the roster. Yoppy’s time in TJPW motivated her to continue wrestling for a while until when women from her age group started retiring. Seeing people like Saki Akai and Nao Kakuta retire from wrestling and become active with other careers elsewhere made convinced her to change her mind. She is at her peak of abilities right now and wants to retire in this healthy state.

Hasegawa is grateful towards Actwres girl’Z for training her when she knew nothing about pro wrestling and did not have an athletic background. She is also grateful to GanPro for taking her in when she was injured and had no wrestling home to go to. Finaly, she thanks TJPW for letting her continue to enjoy pro wrestling. She still has some goals to reach before her final match. When she joined TJPW she said she wanted to have matches with every single wrestler on the roster and that has not happened yet. She would also like to challenge Suzume for the International Princess Title because they have wrestled each other several times before and Hasegawa looks up to Suzume.

Nothing has been decided yet on what Hasegawa’s final match is going to be. There are many wrestlers she would like to face but she wants to fight and beat strong opponents too. Whether she wins or loses it will be done with respect because TJPW is filled with wrestlers who really respect each other. She hopes fans will come to see all of her remaining matches and not just her retirement match.
