It’s already getting cold in October so Yuki Aino is looking for ways to fire up everyone, Miu Watanabe included. She created a spark at a press conference a couple of days ago by getting Rise Shirai to call Watanabe a “Monster Princess”. Aino then beat Watanabe in a game of thumb wrestling at that press conference. She also got the better of her today with a Shoulder Tackle battle outside the ring followed by a Reverse Senton being done from the ropes to the floor. Aino then went on to pin Shino Suzuki with the Venus DDT to win the match for herself & Haru Kazashiro. Aino is now claiming she has beaten Watanabe twice this week and Watanabe even agrees. So later backstage Watanabe challenged Suzuki to a thumb wrestling match and easily beat her to get some little piece of momentum going back her way.
The era of Mahironman was briefly interrupted when Miyu Yamashita submitted Mahiro Kiryu to become the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. Yamashita wasn’t the only person wanting to win the belt because Hyper Misao told her before the match she had a plan to win it herself. Her plan was to roll up Kiryu from behind during her ring entrance but it failed when Kiryu kicked out of the pin. Misao tried to deny ever ambushing her and then told Kiryu it was her fault for leaving her defence open. Kiryu believed her and apologised for it during her apology spot in the match. Yamashita would then win the match and the title only for Misao to try rolling her up afterwards in a failed attempt to become champion. Kiryu pleaded with Yamashita to give the belt back because she wants to be the champion for her homecoming show on 19th October but Yamashita refused. instead Yamashita told her they can have a singles match with the title on the line at next week’s show in Shinjuku FACE. Kiryu accepted the challenge but then rolled up Yamashita anyway to become champ again before running off. However Yamashita said the singles is still going ahead next week and she will get revenge by bashing Kiryu’s brains in!
The Next Generation Tournament began with two matches in the opening round. This year’s competition is under double elimination rules so losing once doesn’t immediately knock anyone out of the running. It will just make the path to the final a more difficult challenge. Uta Takami won her match against Ren Konatsu and feels relieved because she doesn’t wrestle with the same confidence that Konatsu does despite having more experience. In the other match Kira Summer used a Modified Side Buster called the Hazard Hangover to beat Chika Nanase. That means Summer will next face Takami for a place in the grand final while Konatsu and Nanase have to fight each other when neither can afford to lose again.
