D GENERATIONS CUP – DGC
The D GENERATIONS CUP is an annual tournament held by DDT to determine the strongest young wrestler on the roster. The 2023 class of DDT rookies were nicknamed the “D GENERATION” and Sanshiro Takagi wanted them all to fight for a spot on the company’s American tour that took place that year. The first DGC was created as a league that would decide who deserved to go. The format of the tournament changes depending on how many wrestlers are eligible to compete. The tournament winner usually receives entry into an important DDT event happening later in the year as their prize.

The first DGC was held under a round robin format. There were two groups with four wrestlers each and the winners of both groups fought each other in the final. The grand prize was a spot on DDT’s tour of Los Angeles that took place at the end of March 2023.
