Some early notes from the show:
The attendence for this show is said to be 8,800 fans, which is another great success for DDT. So much so that the annual Sumo Hall show is here to stay with the next one planned for 24th July, 2011. The arena was said to be 60% full by the time the dark match began. The show opened with an appearance by the former ring announcer for New Japan, Kero Tanaka who joined Michael Nakazawa as they watched footage from last year’s event of Nakazawa’s backside exploding. The Wild Snake team were at odds during the Tag Gauntlet and the pairing of Posion Sawada JULIE and Manabu Nakanishi eventually fell apart with JULIE casting his snake magic on his own partner! Kota Ibushi made an appearance at intermission and wished his B.F.F. Kenny Omega the best of luck for his match against Naomichi Marufuji. Despite being victorious, Marufuji suffered an arm injury during the bout and had it taped up as soon as the match ended. After Danshoku Dino’s victory over HG & RG, Dino asked HG if he really was ready to retire. They were interruped by a video message by Genichiro Tenryu, who urged HG to continue wrestling. HG decided not to retire and made out with Dino to celebrate. With the KO-D Openweight title back round his waist, HARASHIMA is now a 4-time holder of the title.
