7. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuji Hino (c) defeated HARASHIMA with the F***’N Bomb (18:16).
*V1 for Yuji Hino.

Yuji Hino brushed off a tough challenger in HARASHIMA today to gain his first defence of the KO-D Openweight Title. Despite coming dangerously close to losing the match on a few occasions, Hino was able to survive getting hit with the Somato and hit his favourite F***’N Bomb finisher to win the match. Afterwards, Tsurumi Amon entered the ring and said one wrestler directly appealed to him for the next title shot and that person is more than qualified to deserve it. Enter Kota Ibushi. The Golden Star will challenge Yuji Hino for the title in Korakuen Hall on 24th June. Ibushi politely said he will bring the belt back to DDT and he will then get to be in the main event at Budokan Hall. Hino said that the KO-D Title was his and he stuck up his middle finger at Ibushi. HARASHIMA said he did not want himself or DDT to look weak against Hino. He will not give up on the road to Budokan.

Ibushi showed why he deserved the next KO-D Title shot by pinning Shigehiro Irie in the semi-main event tag match. Ibushi showed everyone he is much stronger now when he was able to lift up Irie and pin him with the Sit Down Last Ride. Meanwhile Irie’s partner Keisuke Ishii was visibly upset over the defeat and he refused to shake hands with Ibushi and KUDO after the match.

The most surprising result of the night was Michael Nakazawa defeating Sanshiro Takagi in the Special Death Match Where Something Terrible Will Happen To The Loser. It got kind of violent with the two brawling out of the ring. Nakazawa was cut during the brawl and Takagi poured lemon water over the wound. He then threw Nakazawa onto a table and then yelled “We are STARDOM!” for some reason. Takagi also brought in a bowling ball from the nearby bowling alley and rolled it at Nakazawa. Michael got out of the way and the ball crashed into the wall. In the end, Nakazawa used his new finisher the Venom Maker (apparently it’s his version of Kazuchika Okada’s Rainmaker) to grab the win. Afterwards Nakazawa said his Venom Maker will rain down poison on DDT and that Takagi had to take the poison as his forfeit for losing. When Nakazawa went to put the poison in Takagi’s mouth, Takagi gave him a Stunner and put the poison in his mouth instead.

The Insanely Funny Game Series had Yoshiko from STARDOM making an appearance because Makoto Oishi stole her wrestling gear and wore it for the match. Since Yoshiko was here, everyone decided that the match would be won by whoever could make her laugh. The attempts at comedy included Antonio Honda hugging his opponents like a koala and everybody proposing to Yoshiko. In the end Yoshiko finally laughed when everyone had their tights pulled down and their rears exposed. Everybody was then declared the winner.

Hiroki is now three for three in his annual shaolin challenge against Chiharu.

DDT will return to Sapporo in October for a Pro Wrestling Festival in conjunction with Big Japan and K-DOJO. There will be several shows taking place in Teisen Hall between 4th-7th October.

Game Over For Omega’s Title Run

May 27, 2012

AJPW, 27/05/2012
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Title: KAI defeated Kenny Omega (c) with the Splash Plancha (20:50).
*Kenny Omega fails in V6. KAI becomes the 32nd AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Champion!

Kenny Omega’s reign of terror (or cool if you are on his side) in All Japan’s Jr. Heavyweight division has come to an end. His title run was finally put to an end by KAI in what was Kenny’s sixth defence of the belt. KAI’s rivalry with Omega in All Japan has spread into a small feud with DDT itself after KAI commented that DDT wrestlers are not proper pro wrestlers. But now that he brought the belt back to All Japan on the main event of their show in Korakuen Hall today, he may consider the matter settled and move onto new challenges. As for Omega, who knows what else he has planned for Japan in the near future.
