Ultimate Party 2026 Press Conference

Sorry, I couldn’t fit in time over the Halloween weekend to write up a preview. But there was a DDT press conference that took place on Halloween that had a few updates to the card including the match order.

DDT held an outdoor press conference at Zendentsu Labor Hall in Tokyo to promote the major matches of “ULTIMATE PARTY 2026” coming up soon. MAO and Chris Brookes both signed the contract for the KO-D Openweight Title main event then spoke about the upcoming match. Brookes compared MAO to a younger brother at first but then started thinking that a son is more accurate. He remembers MAO was one of the wrestlers who gave him the warmest welcome when he entered DDT. Over they years Brookes helped design merchandise for MAO’s band and when Brookes won his first championship in DDT, MAO couldn’t help but sob like a child. However Brookes thinks that dynamic shifted when MAO won the KO-D Title this year. MAO has grown into a cool and confident champion which Brookes admits makes him feel a little lonely. Whether this match is the end of their chapter or the start of a new one, Brookes does not want the story to be one where the “son” defeats his “father”. MAO thinks Brookes has also grown up over the seven years they’ve known each other but in his core he is still the same as when they first met. MAO wants this main event to be the culmination of every absurd match he and Brookes have previously had together to show everyone how fun pro wrestling can be.

For the Dramatic Dream Match, Shinya Aoki is calling his shot and said his goal is to beat Zack Sabre Jr. by submission. Sabre said he is happy to wrestle in DDT again and he understands when people like Yuki Ueno say that DDT is a family. If Sabre could tell his 14 year old self he would one day wrestle Aoki, he would just as excited and terrified as he feels right now. He does not see this match as New Japan Vs DDT. Instead it is his chance to prove to everyone again that he is the best technical wrestler in the world. Aoki does feel some responsibility to compete in the match as a newly signed DDT wrestler. It is giving him an extra push not to lose. The previous time they wrestled each other, Aoki said he had such a great time he could have kept wrestling Sabre non-stop until the next morning. Sabre likes the idea but then remembered Brookes is in the main event so he doesn’t want to take that away from him.

Ever since Konosuke Takeshita was added into the Danshoku Dieno Vs Daisuke Sasaki match, Sasaki has taken things more seriously. He understands the match is now a big deal with the whole world turning over to them. There are a lot of restrictions surrounding the match., mainly those focusing on preventing full nudity from taking place. Dieno is still determined to go beyond full nudity and take things further than when he wrestled Sasaki completely naked eight years ago. Takeshita does not want to experience anything like that. He brought up the date 8th January, 2007. It was when he had his first kiss stolen by Dieno when he attended a DDT show as a fan. He’s still angry about it! Another date he remembers is 29th May, 2016. It was when he beat Sasaki to win his first KO-D Title. He has fought Sasaki in many big matches throughout DDT’s history and each one made him stronger, turning him into the monster he is today. Sasaki never invited Takeshita to join DAMNATION but he unintentionally created a Frankenstein monster that’s been left to its own devices!

The challengers for the KO-D Tag Team Titles didn’t come to the event to pay respect to the champions. Instead Hideki Okatani sat around chewing gum while Ilusion rested his feet onto the table. Takeshi Masada did the same to show he wouldn’t be intimidated by the DAMNATION T.A pair. Ilusion then mocked paleyouth by pretending he couldn’t remember who the champions are because Yuya Koroku is so unmemorable. Koroku came up with a mature response, thinking that acting like an adult would put the young Ilusion back in his place even if it meant he was being “bland and safe.” Masada then gave the reminder that he and Koroku are the champions going into Sumo Hall next week. paleyouth was formed because the members did not want to be seen as duds when compared to the DNA generation of wrestlers. However Ilusion hates being labelled as being part of D GENERATIONS with paleyouth and wants the name to be dropped.

The stipulation for the DDT Extreme Title match was revealed by Shunma Katsumata. He brought out a red rope that will be used for the Scarlet Friendship match. It will work in a similar way to a Chain Death Match where Katsumata and Ueno will be thethered together by their wrists with the rope. Much like how a red string is often used to symbolise a deep connection between people, the red rope represents the strong bond Katsumata has with Ueno. His idea didn’t impress Ueno to the point where Ueno started asking Hisaya Imabayashi if something else could be done for the match. Katsumata decided to use a bonus rules where “Sentiments” can get added to the rope. Every time there is a kickout or rope break, one piece of “Love” that weighs 1kg will be placed on a wrestler. This keeps going until a wrestler reaches 20kg of added weight and the match is won by either pinfall, submission or knockout. The crowd didn’t get the rules but Ueno was much happier with the idea and accepted the stipulation. The idea might end up backfiring on Katsumata because he hadn’t realised the extra weight could immobilise him until a reporter brought up that possibility to him. If that wasn’t worrying enough, Ueno decided to strangle Katsumata with the rope during the photo session afterwards.

During the press conference To-y brought out a roulette wheel to determine the name of his tag team with Kaisei Takechi. To-y still thinks his original idea of T2K2 should be picked but the spin ended up landing on Papico no Punch. To-y explained that he is Papico and Takechi is the Punch.
