1. Kenny Omega & Daisuke Sasaki defeated Keisuke Ishii & Soma Takao when Omega pinned Takao after the Freedom Call (7:50).
2. 4 Vs 3 Handicap Match: MIKAMI, Yukio Sakaguchi, Tetsuya Endo & Michael Nakazawa defeated Hideki Shiota, Sanshiro Takagi & Gota Ihashi when Sakaguchi pinned Shiota with the PK (8:38).
3. King Of DDT – Round 2: Shigehiro Irie defeated Antonio Honda with the Beast Bomber (14:56).
4. King Of DDT – Round 2: KUDO defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga with the Diving Double Knee Drop (16:11).
5. HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano & Akito defeated Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & HAYATA when Urano pinned Oishi with the Tombstone Piledriver (13:24).
*Yasu Urano wins Makoto Oishi’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.
6. King Of DDT – Round 2: Kota Ibushi defeated Masa Takanashi with the Sit Down Last Ride (12:53).
7. King Of DDT – Round 2: Isami Kodaka defeated Konosuke Takeshita with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!! (20:05).

The King of DDT semi-finals are now set. Shigehiro Irie will face KUDO while Kota Ibushi will face Isami Kodaka. Irie’s Beast Bomber has become a very effective finisher in recent months and here it was used to put away Antonio Honda. KUDO made sure that Tomomitsu Matsunaga would not beat him like he did Kenny Omega. Despite losing, Matsunaga now has a new attitude based on his strong performance in the tournament and will make it to the top one step at a time. Ibushi fought against a spirited performance from Masa Takanashi to win his match. Finally Kodaka took a page from El Generico’s book and defeated Konosuke Takeshita with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!!

A lottery was held to determine the semi-finals. Each qualifying wrestler had to pull a ball out of a box and whoever picked the same colour would face each other. Oddly enough the resulting matches would have happened anyway if the tournament was organised with a playoff bracket from start to finish.

Makoto Oishi must now regret pulling out of the King of DDT. He left the tournament after winning one of the two remaining Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contracts. But he waited too long to cash in and wound up losing the contract to Yasu Urano when Urano pinned him in a Six-Man Tag Team match. As a contract holder, Urano now has to worry about whether or not he should cash in on his friend and team mate HARASHIMA. The other contract holder at the moment is Super Sasadango Machine who has done the smart thing and stayed away from the wrestling often, reducing the risk of him losing the contract. When he decides to get his KO-D Title match, only he knows.

The Handicap Match was originally billed as Shiota-gun Vs DDT Sekigun. But Sanshiro Takagi told Hideki Shiota he never had permission to add him to his new unit. So Shiota instead renamed the match the Shiota New Organisation Raising An Army Assessment Match. When asked what the name of his new organisation was, Shiota called it Salt Japan Pro Wrestling.

4. Menso~re Oyaji & Mr. #6 defeated Cherry & Gabaiji-chan when Mr. #6 pinned Cherry with a Cradle (10:19).
5. Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Takao Soma defeated Seiya Morohashi, Hiro Tsumaki & Daichi Kazato when Ishii pinned Kazato with a Boston Crab (12:20).
6. Shuji Ishikawa & Kengo Ohka Vs Isami Kodaka & El Generico ended in a Time Limit Draw (30:00).

Union’s final show of the year ended with a 30 minute draw between four of its strongest wrestlers. At the beginning of the show it was announced that Keisuke Ishii will defend the DDT Extreme Title against Isami Kodaka on 14th January. The person who comes out as champion will then go to DDT and challenge Kenny Omega for the KO-D Openweight Title on 27th January.

Shuji Ishikawa will be in Big Japan the day before to face Abdullah Kobayashi a second time for the BJW Death Match Title.

Cherry had another important announcement today. This time she will begin learning English. Mio Shirai came down and called out Cherry for wasting everyone’s time by constantly announcing new hobbies. Masako Takanashi then appeared for the first time in a long time to talk about the LPGA. Somehow this leads to Cherry & Masako Takanashi Vs Mio Shirai & Yuko Miyamoto being booked for 14th January.

Since it was Christmas, Hiroshi Fukuda was given a kiss on the cheek by both Rumi Kazama and Mame Endo. It was later announced that Fukuda will face Jun Kasai on 14/1. Fukuda hid under the ring when he found out about the match.

Ken Ohka finally scored a victory over Mio Shirai. However, it doesn’t sounds so great when you hear it was in a Reindeer Match where the first person to take off their opponent’s reindeer hat and shout “Gross!” wins. Ohka was able to do that in 15 seconds. The crowd booed the anti-climatic result and a rematch was immediately held under normal rules. This time around it was business as usual, Mio submitted Ohka with the Figure Four Neck Lock.

At the end of the show every member of the Union roster gave an end of year message. Naomi Susan thanked everyone for supporting Union. Ryu Gouma announced he wants to return to wrestling next year and he’ll do his best to be a dignified wrestling lawyer. Hiroshi Fukuda began a “USA!” chant and yelled “Love and peace! The war is over!” Rumi Kazama said she wanted to be Union’s top diva next year. Goro Jr. simply mumbled into the microphone. Ken Ohka said he was frustrated he lost so many matches but relied on the support of the Union fans. Mr. #6 said he wants to travel to the United States. Mio Shirai said she was No. 1 this year and will be the best next year. Hiro Tsumaki said he got a lot of solid training in Okinawa and now wants to win a championship. El Generico said he always wants to come back to Japan. Shuji Ishikawa said he will come back to Union with the BJW Death Match Title wrapped around his waist. Finally, Isami Kodaka finished the speech saying as the future ace of Union, he will help make the place fun, intense and spicy!

7. KO-D Openweight Title: El Generico defeated Kota Ibushi (c) with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!! (22:33).
*Kota Ibushi fails in V3. El Generico becomes the 43rd KO-D Openweight Champion!

El Generico has been a force to be reckoned with ever since he came to Union and DDT. Now he has defeated their biggest star to win their top championship. Kota Ibushi wanted to face Generico again to avenge his defeat to the Generic Luchador back in May of this year. Ibushi even said he needed to win at any cost. Generico was the same, blocking a Top Rope Reverse Huracanrana and turning that into the deadly Brainbuster onto the top turnbuckle to end Ibushi’s reign as champion. After the match Generico said winning the title is an incredible feeling and he thanked Ibushi, calling him the best wrestler in the world. Generico promised that if he wins the DDT48 General Election, he will nominate Ibushi to get the vacant prize title shot. Generico said DDT welcomed him with an open heart, that Japan is No. 1 and the KO-D Title is the No. 1 championship in Japan.

Meanwhile Kenny Omega was spotted watching the match with great interest from a corner in the hall.

The new veteran unit now has a name. When Yasu Urano, HARASHIMA & KUDO combine, they become Ura-Shima-Kudo! During their match with Team Dream Futures, HARASHIMA fought in a furious manner that caught the Drift wrestlers off guard. Drift were not happy with the loss and threw out challenges for singles matches.

Kenny Omega said he was surprised by Konosuke Takeshita’s performance in their match, but his next real challenge has yet to come. Omega will return to All Japan for a match against Hiroshi Yamato for the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title on 7th October.

Shuji Ishikawa complained about having a sore shoulder and had to be convinced by Poison Sawada JULIE to wrestle for him as Client Snake. And by convinced I mean brainwashed. After their defeat to Sanshiro Takagi & MIKAMI, Takagi credited Sawada as being the driving force behind pro wrestling’s fantasy world in Japan. Sawada said he has no more regrets because he has lived in the fantasy world.

Danshoku Dino Vs Makoto Oishi was said to have been weird. Before the match took place, Yukinori Matsui approached both wrestlers to say he didn’t want to see any of the usual gay antics or else referee Daisuke Kiso would stop the match. Unfortunately for Kiso, there came a moment in the match where he got knocked out. With the ref down, Dino grabbed a futon from underneath the ring and forced Oishi to go under it with him. Matsui tried to enter ringside to stop the match but Tsurumi Amon prevented him from doing so with a kiss. Kiso recovered in time to witness the debauchery and stopped the match.

Yuji Hino left his partners high and dry to rejoin the wrestlers from Los Calientes and reform the Monster Army. They said that this is the best line up of the Monster Army and they can change the world.

The boxing match between Michael Nakazawa and Gota Ihashi ended in a draw. Since the winner was supposed to become the leader of a new stable with Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega, it was up to them to decide who should get it. They chose Ihashi. However, Tsurumi Amon wasn’t convinced that Ihashi deserved to be leader. He also didn’t think Ibushi or Omega deserved to be the leader. Then from out of nowhere Ibushi suggested Yumehito Imanari, a part time wrestler and filmmaker who is in charge of the Danshoku Ranch CLASSIC documentary series produced by DDT. Amon approved of the choice and Imanari has been made leader of the new unit.

Dramatic Fantasia will return to Samurai! TV beginning on 11th October.

6. Special Singles Match: El Generico defeated Ken Ohka with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (15:59).

Cherry’s major announcement is she will move her blog from Livedoor to Ameba. Mio Shirai came out and told Cherry that everyone in attendance thought she was finally going to reveal her real age. Nothing else about Cherry matters, according to Mio. She challenged Cherry to a match for the 18/3 Union show. If Cherry loses the match she will have to admit her real age, one of the best kept secrets in wrestling today.

Sexxxy Eddy tried his moves on Mio Shirai with little success during their match. He asked her for a kiss because it was almost Valentine’s Day. Mio asked Eddy to close his eyes. When he did, Mio grabbed the referee and forced him to kiss Eddy. Mio used the distraction to give Eddy a School Boy for a near fall. Mio gave Eddy a Low Blow and tried to do the Figure Four Neck Lock but Eddy escaped, gave Mio a Power Bomb and won the match with the SEX On The Beach.

Tsuyoshi Kikuchi betrayed Cherry in their tag match and asked New Sanshiro Takagi if he could join Union full-time. He has been asking to join since January but the decision was always put on hold. New Sanshiro said Kikuchi could join, but he has no actual power to do anything. Naomi Susan butted in and said she will think about it. New Sanshiro ignored her and said he was looking forward to having Kikuchi pump up Union with himself and Big Rude.

Kikuchi returned with New Sanshiro Takagi at the end of the show to again ask Naomi Susan if he can join Union. Naomi said it was too early to decide and she would speak to him later. They were then interrupted by (Old) Sanshiro Takagi, who offered to shake hands with his doppleganger. During the handshake, he gave New Sanshiro a Stone Cold Stunner. He then said on 18th March he will become New Keizo Matsuda!

Rion Mizuki was infatuated by Rumi Kazama during the opener. After defeating Hiroshi Fukuda, Mizuki asked Kazama for her phone number. She didn’t know how to react.

7. DDT Extreme Title – TLC (Tonkachi, Ladders & Chairs): Isami Kodaka defeated El Generico (c) with the Rasengan (19:27).
*El Generico fails in V4. Isami Kodaka becomes the 17th DDT Extreme Champion!

Union had plenty to celebrate at the beginning of 2012 with Isami Kodaka winning back the DDT Extreme Title from El Generico in a Tonkachi, Ladders & Chairs match. After the hard fought match, Isami told Generico how fun it was to beat him in such an extreme battle. He then wished Generico farewell but was interrupted by Ken Ohka. Generico was challenged by Ohka to a match on 10th February, so the Generic Luchador will be sticking around in Union for at least a little while longer. Meanwhile Isami took centre stage and told the fans he now shared a bond with Kengo Mashimo from K-DOJO, KUDO from DDT and Abdullah Kobayashi from Big Japan. They are all champions who love to wrestle for their companies. Generico then congratulated Isami and said he is a true warrior deserving of the championship as the show drew to a close.

The first match for BIG “G” BANG was a rousing success. Shuji Ishikawa & Shigehiro Irie overcame the Strong BJ side of Daisuke Sekimoto & Kazuki Hashimoto. With this victory they gain momentum towards their future challenges.

Sanshiro Takagi & KENSO faced off for the first time since their No Rope Exploding Barbed Wire match at “WRESTLE EXPO 2006”. Takagi teamed with the brand new NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion Tsuyoshi Kikuchi to defeat KENSO and Yoshiaki Yago. The aftermath was very eventful as Kikuchi announced he was joining Union as a full-time wrestler. Takagi joked that Kikuchi had been thinking over his decision since last February. Takagi also talked about how he is so busy now that there needs to be a new Sanshiro Takagi to help take some of his workload. Takagi’s music hit and out came Keizo Matsuda of IWA Japan fame dressed as Takagi and performing his signature entrance.

NOSAWA Rongai & Io Shirai made a successful first defence of their Americas Mixed Tag Titles over the tsundere team of Ken Ohka & Mio Shirai. Despite their defeat, Mio admitted that she and Ken were starting to gel as a team. But she was adamant that it doesn’t change the dynamic of their “master and servant” relationship.

Big Morohashi has taken inspiration from the late, great Rick Rude and changed his ring name to Big Rude. After winning the 3 Way Tag match with Masao Orihara, the former Seiya Morohashi told his opponents “If you want to become the world’s best villain, you have to be rude!”

The gratuitous Twitter battle between Hiroshi Fukuda and RG opened the show. RG sang to Fukuda’s mentor and valet Rumi Kazama before the match began but the lyrics were about how overweight she was. Rumi tried to get revenge during the match with a steel chair, but RG ducked and Fukuda took the chairshot instead. As a result of his defeat, Fukuda and all of his 611 followers must now follow RG’s Twitter account.

El Generico Defends DDT Extreme Title In Hawaii

December 20, 2011

AZW “BATTLECLASH VII”, 19/12/11
FilCom Center, Waipahu, Hawaii

DDT Extreme Title: El Generico (c) defeated Kaimana.
*V3 for El Generico?

Not sure if this will be officially recognised by DDT and Union but El Generico successfully defended the DDT Extreme Championship when he defeated Kaimana at last night’s Action Zone Wrestling event in Hawaii. Not much information about the match is available right now except for a mention on both Generico and Kaimana’s Twitter accounts. With that little detour out of the way, Generico will return to Japan on 3rd January to face Isami Kodaka in a main event title match for “1…2…3…UNION!” in Korakuen Hall.
