arm-trap-piledriver

Cracks are starting to grow within Shuten-dōji over the Sumo Hall main event. KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi lost to Team Dream Futures cleanly when Shigehiro Irie held Sakaguchi in place for Keisuke Ishii’s Kneel Kick. Irie then followed up with the Arm Trap Piledriver for the pinfall. KUDO left ringside on his own leaving Sakaguchi confused. Masa Takanashi is now trying to play peacekeeper by going back and forth between the two. Shuten-dōji and Team Dream Futures will clash again next week for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles.

strongbj-stormriders

Two of the Golden☆Storm Riders are getting a KO-D Tag Team Title shot. Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki left nothing to chance when they fought Konosuke Takeshita & Antonio Honda. They attacked Happy Motels during their entrance and placed them in trolleys around ringside. Sasaki pinned Takeshita with his flash Hurricanrana to earn the No. 1 Contendership for his team. The champions Strong BJ were in attendance and confronted their challengers after the match. Daisuke Sekimoto told Ibushi he was ready for him. Yuji Okabayashi said he was ready for a great struggle between two wrestlers born in 1982 (himself and Ibushi). Ibushi said it will be a good match and he has a strong partner. Sasaki called himself and Ibushi the strongest tag team on the planet.

treasurehunt-bullrope

The DDT Extreme Title was on the line in a Treasure Hunt Bull Rope match. Akito and Masa Takanashi were attached to each other with a rope while the title belt was placed in one of four bags. After every fall the winner chose a bag, if it contained the belt then the match would end. However the other bags were filled with dummy belts with extra rules written on them that had to be applied for the rest of the match. Akito used the ropes to great effect and won the first fall with a modified Scorpion Deathlock. However the bag he picked contained the rule that made grappling illegal. Akito was unable to use his submission hold but was able to pin Takanashi to win the second fall. This time the bag he found contained the Tequila Drink rules. Both wrestlers had to drink tequila after every kickout. Takanashi was delighted. After a few shots Akito again used the rope to his advantage by hooking it over the top ring rope and holding himself down as countered a Sunset Flip into a pin. Third time was the charm and Akito picked the bag with the real belt to win! A dizzy Akito pleaded for the drinks of tequila to stop.

harashima-irie

DDT ends 2014 with a sold out crowd at Korakuen Hall and a cleared path on the road to Saitama Super Arena next February. In the main event HARASHIMA put the KO-D Openweight Title on the line against Shigehiro Irie, the last member of Team Dream Futures to go through in his current title reign. Irie was fueled by his desire to get revenge for his friends but as always HARASHIMA’s training meant the champion came out on top. After the match Irie still wanted HARASHIMA to apologise to Keisuke Ishii & Soma Takao but they pulled him away from the ring. HARASHIMA described Irie as a dangerous opponent and he was so strong that it was almost cheating. But he was still better. Kota Ibushi then entered the ring and faced off with HARASHIMA. Ibushi simply said “It’s been a long time. Saitama Super Arena. Thank you.”

motel-beats-shuten

Happy Motel is still accepting vacancies. Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo scored their 4th successful defence of the KO-D Tag Team Titles against Shuten-dōji. The champs were able to get rid of KUDO and isolate Yukio Sakaguchi inside the ring. A short range Lariat from Takeshita, the Sky Twister Press from Endo and then a German Suplex from Takeshita was enough to put away Sakaguchi. Takeshita thanked Shuten-dōji after the match for their challenge. He and Endo are committed to be the future of DDT. Amon Tsurumi then approached the champs to give them a message. He has a world class tag team to challenge them at Saitama Super Arena… Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi! Endo said he will be ready to fight them and Takeshita said he wants to German Suplex Sekimoto!

nakazawa-countdown

Hikaru Sato wrestled in DDT again for the first time in 11 months as part of the finale of Michael Nakazawa’s farewell series. Unfortunately the match only lasted 30 seconds. Nakazawa took the quick loss in his stride and posed for a commemorative photo with the other wrestlers who just wanted to get the entire thing over with. Nakazawa gave a goodbye speech while the other wrestlers ignored him and walked to the back. Nakazawa then stopped himself and said he didn’t want to go out this way. This was not just Nakazawa’s farewell, it was the Nuru Nuru Brothers, Belt Hunter x Hunter and Shit Heart ♥ Foundation reuniting for one last time! “Please cooperate in making my memories! Ring the bell!” The match restarted and Nakazawa was attacked by Sato and Masa Takanashi, who were yelling “Thank you for the memories!” as they stomped him. Tomomitsu Matsunaga rallied the fans behind Nakazawa. Unfortunately in the end Nakazawa was put away by Sato’s Cross Armbreaker submission. After the match Sato told Nakazawa he hopes if Nakazawa ever comes back from Singapore he will have transformed into a new wrestler.

ibushi-chinsuke

The Golden☆Storm Riders audition reached its conclusion as four men had to battle Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki in order to gain acceptance into the stable. Shunma Katsumata was the first eliminated when Sasaki tapped him out. The most notable contestant was Chinsuke Nakamura, a Shinsuke Nakamura impersonator. Ibushi and Chinsuke went at it in a preview of Ibushi’s upcoming Tokyo Dome match with the real Nakamura. Ibushi eliminated Chinsuke when he countered the Boma Ye into a gentle Last Ride Power Bomb. Suguru Miyatake and former member Gota Ihashi were left and fought their hearts out until Ibushi pinned Miyatake and called an end to the audition. Even though Ihashi was the sole survivor, Miyatake was picked as the winner! Ibushi then admitted he made up his mind before the audition even begun and it didn’t even make sense for the audition to happen in the first place! Ihashi complained about the decision but Ibushi knocked him out. Miyatake said he will work hard to live up to the stable’s name. The new Golden☆Storm Riders will challenge for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on 3rd January.

yoshihiko-lilico

Sanshiro Takagi made it his duty to return the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title to DDT from the popstar LiLiCo. Problem is she has Bernard Ackah as her bodyguard and he was instructed to bash anyone who got in her way. LiLiCo also got involved in the match when she could. But Takagi played dirty and pulled down Ackah’s shorts to distract him. He then rolled him over with La Magistral Cradle for the victory. LiLiCo tried to escape with the Iron Man Title but she was cut off at every corner by different wrestlers and carried back to the ring. Takagi asked for the belt once more but LiLiCo then attacked him with it! She yelled that she will be the eternal champion but then there was a blackout. When the lights came on Yoshihiko was perched on the top turnbuckle behind her! When she turned around Yoshihiko dove onto her and pinned her to win the title back for DDT! LiLiCo fled in a panic while Ackah apologised to her over and over. Ackah also said he wanted another match with Takagi. He underestimated him and said Takagi fought strong rather than fought dirty. He now understands that he must study more about wrestling to combat Takagi’s style.

oishi-submits-akito

Makoto Oishi scored a big victory over Akito, making the DDT Extreme Champion tap out. Obviously this makes Oishi the next challenger for the title. He is fine wrestling Akito in any match Akito can think of, especially if it involves idols.

magnum-honda

Once again Kazuki Hirata’s Magnum mask went missing before his match. This time it was Antonio Honda who stole it and did the Magnum TOKYO entrance to make Hirata jealous.

super-tlc

Crazy & President will reunite for “SAITAMA SUPER DDT 2015” to take part in a Super TLC Match! Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai will face two mystery wrestlers in a match that involves 10 Tables, 3 Ladders and 100 Chairs!

yoshihiko-ringdream

Three more DDT wrestlers will turn into gender-swapped characters for the Ring☆Dream web browser game. The new additions are HARASHIMA, Yukio Sakaguchi and Yoshihiko. HARASHIMA and Sakaguchi were both impressed with their characters. Sakaguchi said his one is a good woman while HARASHIMA called his character healthy looking. Yoshihiko’s character is described as a beautiful girl but as you can see above, it’s pretty creepy.

There is no timeframe for his recovery but it is certain he will be gone from Union for longer than the 60 day suspension.

First and second round matches have a 10 minute time limit, the semi-finals have a 15 minute time limit and the final has no time limit. Overtime uses one count pinfall rules. The semi-final pairings will be decided with a lottery.

2. 4 Way Ladder Match: Hiroshi Fukuda defeated Daisuke Sasaki, SAGAT and Goro Jr. when Fukuda grabbed the beer (12:48).
3. Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa defeated Hikaru Shida & Tomomitsu Matsunaga when Nakazawa submitted Matsunaga with the HVS (23:42).
Special Dark Match: Yasu Urano defeated Daisuke Kiso and DJ Nira by Neon Genesis Evangelion Gainax Ending (7:37).
4. Daisuke Sekimoto, Ryuichi Sekine & Antonio Honda defeated Kenny Omega, Daisuke Sasaki & Gota Ihashi when Sekimoto pinned Ihashi with the Deadlift German Suplex (19:51).

The main event was created when each of the active Golden Storm Riders chose which wrestlers they wanted to fight against. Gota Ihashi picked Ryuichi Sekine, Daisuke Sasaki picked Antonio Honda and Kenny Omega picked Daisuke Sekimoto. Their choices were to make sure they would be working hard. Depsite taking the pinfall and losing the match, Ihashi was praised by Omega for putting up a good fight. Ihashi even said he wanted to have a singles match with Sekimoto someday. The show ended with Sekimoto raising a toast to DDT and pro wrestling.

The delightful Hikaru Shida was there to team with Tomomitsu Matsunaga against Kenny & Michael Nakazawa. Shida’s butt word for today was “Beer” and Matsunaga joined in by having the word “Garden” scribbled on his backside. Kenny was happy to team with Nakazawa again and Nakazawa was happy to get physical with Shida. Nakazawa asked if lotion could be used in the match. Shida agreed but only if it meant she was allowed to use her bamboo sword as a weapon. Nakazawa agreed “because I use anything.” Omega and Matsunaga covered themselves in lotion and then slapped each other over and over. Everyone was eventually covered in oil and Shida used her sword to great effect. She and Matsunaga chased off Omega and found a bat to shove up Nakazawa’s backside. Omega returned armed with a lightsaber while wearing a Darth Vader helmet. Omega and Matsunaga had a lightsaber duel until Kenny said he was Matsunaga’s father. Omega wounded Matsunaga with the lightsaber and Nakazawa applied the HVS for the victory. After the match Kenny, Nakazawa and Matsunaga all began to sing the Frozen song “Let It Go” but Shida grabbed the mic from them. Kenny offered a handshake and then tried to hug Shida only to get blasted in the face with the bamboo sword.

All of the Ladder Match contenders were very thirsty so the obvious prize to hang above the ring was a can of beer inside a bucket. Hiroshi Fukuda lost a tooth in the match but won the beer.

Gota Ihashi had a rough day. Before he even had to think about the main event he had to go through a series of boxing style matches. First up was Boxing Vs Kickboxing against FUMA. Ihashi was knocked out with a High Kick. Next up was a Lucha Libre rules boxing bout against Tetsuya Endo. This was more of a wrestling match but both men still had to wear boxing gloves. Endo countered La Magistral Cradle to give Ihashi two losses in a row. Finally there was a Dance Boxing bout against Kazuki Hirata. Ihashi danced with Hirata for a bit but then pinned him with a School Boy. Kota Ibushi was there to watch over the match and when Yukio Sakaguchi suddenly appeared at ringside, Ibushi allowed him to fight Ihashi in a Vale Tudo match. Sakaguchi pretty much killed Ihashi with punches and kicks. Even though FUMA threw in the towel, Ibushi thought Ihashi still had a chance and let the fight continue. Sakaguchi beat the crap out of Ihashi even more to the point where the ref wanted to stop it but Ibushi was still convinced Ihashi had a chance. Finally Ibushi called for the end and awarded the fight to Sakaguchi. Ibushi said he was satisfied and assured the crowd Ihashi was all right.

There were two bonus matches on the show. One was planned by Sasaki and it was a Falls Count Anywhere bout between DJ Nira and Daisuke Kiso. Nira was placed in submission after submission. Yukinori Matsui was pulled out of the ring right before Nira submitted. Nira called Kiso a bully but also said if Kiso just went for the pin, he would let him win. Kiso did what Nira asked him and counted to three. However, the bell never rang and there was no announcement. Instead a bunch of people circled round Kiso and told him “Congratulations!” one after the other. Nira then attacked Kiso and dragged him under the ring. Matsui recovered, looked under the ring and decided that Yasu Urano was the winner because he was the only wrestler visible at ringside.

Kenny’s bonus match took place at the beginning of the show. When he said that he was suddenly greeted by a new masked gaijin wrestler who goes by the name Super Strong Sasadango Scorpion Machine Jr. Kenny decided the newcomer would face Shunma Katsumata. Machine beat him and offered a handshake afterwards but Katsumata rejected it.

2. Antonio Honda defeated Guanchulo with a Cradle (10:21).
3. King Of DDT Qualifying Match: Tomomitsu Matsunaga defeated Tetsuya Endo with the Tiger Driver (14:30).
4. Infomercial Match – Oscar Promotion Saki Akai Latest DVD “Beautiful Day”: Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Saki Akai defeated Makoto Oishi, Michael Nakazawa & DJ Nira when Akai pinned Nakazawa with a School Boy (12:13).
5. Kesiuke Ishii, Soma Takao, MIKAMI & Kazuki Hirata defeated Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, Daisuke Sasaki & Gota Ihashi when Takao pinned Ihashi with a Diving Foot Stomp (10:44).
6. 3 Way Match: Danshoku Dino Vs Shigehiro Irie Vs Aja Kong ended in a No Contest (6:07).
7. HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano & Akito defeated KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi when Akito submitted Takanashi with the Triangle Scorpion (14:39).

Akito’s first match teaming with HARASHIMA and Yasu Urano was a big success with a victory over Shuten-dōji. The new unit name for the trio is Smile Squash. After the match HARASHIMA told KUDO he will absolutely win the KO-D Openweight Title from him on 25th May. Urano and Akito then challenged Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie to an All Asia Tag Team Titles match. Amon Tsurumi stepped in and said he will negotiate with All Japan to make the match but warned he would not get an immediate answer. Ishii accepted the challenge and said the title match will happen.

Before the Love Triangle 3 Way match began, Danshoku Dino was seen leaving Aja Kong’s locker room, possibly attacking and eliminating her from the match. Shigehiro Irie was distraught when he found out but whatever Dino did to Kong did not work because she made it to the ring eventually. Dino demanded Irie to choose between him or Kong. Irie then elbowed him in the face. The match fell apart when Dino’s Lip Lock took out not one but two referees. Kazuki Hirata made his Magnum TOKYO entrance and took up the role of replacement referee. He was then knocked out by a Double Lip Lock from both Dino and Kong. The match was called off and Irie was left alone in the ring. He began to weep as he realised he he might have lost something important.

The Golden Rendezvous is no more. Gota Ihashi took the pinfall loss in the 8-Man Tag match and Kenny Omega blamed him afterwards. Ihashi was on the top turnbuckle ready to do a high risk move when his own partner Daisuke Sasaki shook the top rope, causing Ihashi to lose balance and fall to the mat. Omega told the both of them “You are all bad!” Kota Ibushi agreed. Ihashi quit the stable and immediately decided to team with Michael Nakazawa & Tomomitsu Matsunaga. Nakazawa asked Ihashi what he wants to do and Ihashi said he wants to stand out. They then sang “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen. After that they challenged Ibushi, Omega & Sasaki (who are now called the Golden Storm Riders) to a 6-Man Tag match on 29th May.

The Infomercial Match was all about promoting Saki Akai’s gravure DVD “Beautiful Day” which comes out on 30th May. Images from the DVD was shown on the big screen as the match went on. However Michael Nakazawa was jealous of Saki and her DVD so he made his own amateur gravure DVD two days ago. Whenever he took control of the match clips of his movie appeared on the screen instead of Akai.

DDT announced a new Theme Music Project. They are working with Sizuk Entertainment to produce new entrance songs for the roster. Konosuke Takeshita is the first person to get a new song and it debuted on today’s show.

Ibushi and Omega will not be at the next Saitama show on 8th June because they will be wrestling in New Japan. DDT are considering bringing in special guests to make up for their absence.

On yesterday’s All Japan show, Keisuke Ishii and Shigehiro Irie successfully defended their All Asia Tag Team Titles against Kento Miyahara & Kotaro Suzuki. On today’s All Japan show Masao Inoue pinned Jun Akiyama during a Battle Royal to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. Akiyama pinned Inoue after the match to win it back. Looks like he wants to be the champion after all. DDT has invited whoever the champion will be to defend the belt in Shinjuku on 29th June.
