After dispatching of Tomomitsu Matsunaga & GENTARO, Crying Wolf are now being challenged by KUDO & Makoto Oishi for the KO-D Tag Team Title. Yasu Urano said it doesn’t matter if KUDO is teaming with Oishi, Danshoku Dino or Akito. They will all lose to Crying Wolf. Yuji Hino said he does not want to face them because he does not like easy challenges. The title match will take place on 16/6 in Ushiku.
There were a couple of Iron man Heavymetalweight Title changes today as Ayumi Kurihara finally made an apperance in DDT since winning the title. Even though she beat Hiroshi Fukuda in their 6-Man Tag Team match, Fukuda snuck a pin after the match and won the belt. Then Hoshitango beat Fukuda. Michael Nakazawa became the next champion only to lose it back to Ayumi Kurihara. That is the most recent title change I know of. On a sidenote, I put down that result as V3 because since she won the title, Kurihara beat Shu Shibutani in WAVE and Sakura Hirota in Oz Academy. Even if they weren’t acknowledged as Iron Man Title matches by those promotions they still count. Just ask Kana.
The nWJ revealed that they have a powerful figure in the world of wrestling backing them as an advisor. The backer is Katsuji Nagashima, who was the manager director of World Japan back when it existed. On 24/6 at Korakuen Hall, the nWJ will face Michael Nakazawa, Batten Tamagawa, Kenny Omega and a mystery partner in an 8-Man Tag Team match. The nWJ’s fourth man is only listed as a “Helper” so far.
The 16 competitors for this year’s King Of DDT tournament have been announced. They are HARASHIMA, KUDO, Kenny Omega, Danshoku Dino, Masa Takanashi, Makoto Oishi, Hikaru Sato, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Keisuke Ishii, Michael Nakazawa, Takao Soma, Shigehiro Irie, Antonio Honda, Daisuke Sasaki, Yasu Urano and Akito. So no real surprises there. The winner of the tournament will face the KO-D Openweight Champion (who at this point will either be Yuji Hino or Kota Ibushi) at Budokan Hall.
