Special Dark Match: Yasu Urano defeated Daisuke Kiso and DJ Nira by Neon Genesis Evangelion Gainax Ending (7:37).
4. Daisuke Sekimoto, Ryuichi Sekine & Antonio Honda defeated Kenny Omega, Daisuke Sasaki & Gota Ihashi when Sekimoto pinned Ihashi with the Deadlift German Suplex (19:51).

The main event was created when each of the active Golden Storm Riders chose which wrestlers they wanted to fight against. Gota Ihashi picked Ryuichi Sekine, Daisuke Sasaki picked Antonio Honda and Kenny Omega picked Daisuke Sekimoto. Their choices were to make sure they would be working hard. Depsite taking the pinfall and losing the match, Ihashi was praised by Omega for putting up a good fight. Ihashi even said he wanted to have a singles match with Sekimoto someday. The show ended with Sekimoto raising a toast to DDT and pro wrestling.

The delightful Hikaru Shida was there to team with Tomomitsu Matsunaga against Kenny & Michael Nakazawa. Shida’s butt word for today was “Beer” and Matsunaga joined in by having the word “Garden” scribbled on his backside. Kenny was happy to team with Nakazawa again and Nakazawa was happy to get physical with Shida. Nakazawa asked if lotion could be used in the match. Shida agreed but only if it meant she was allowed to use her bamboo sword as a weapon. Nakazawa agreed “because I use anything.” Omega and Matsunaga covered themselves in lotion and then slapped each other over and over. Everyone was eventually covered in oil and Shida used her sword to great effect. She and Matsunaga chased off Omega and found a bat to shove up Nakazawa’s backside. Omega returned armed with a lightsaber while wearing a Darth Vader helmet. Omega and Matsunaga had a lightsaber duel until Kenny said he was Matsunaga’s father. Omega wounded Matsunaga with the lightsaber and Nakazawa applied the HVS for the victory. After the match Kenny, Nakazawa and Matsunaga all began to sing the Frozen song “Let It Go” but Shida grabbed the mic from them. Kenny offered a handshake and then tried to hug Shida only to get blasted in the face with the bamboo sword.

All of the Ladder Match contenders were very thirsty so the obvious prize to hang above the ring was a can of beer inside a bucket. Hiroshi Fukuda lost a tooth in the match but won the beer.

Gota Ihashi had a rough day. Before he even had to think about the main event he had to go through a series of boxing style matches. First up was Boxing Vs Kickboxing against FUMA. Ihashi was knocked out with a High Kick. Next up was a Lucha Libre rules boxing bout against Tetsuya Endo. This was more of a wrestling match but both men still had to wear boxing gloves. Endo countered La Magistral Cradle to give Ihashi two losses in a row. Finally there was a Dance Boxing bout against Kazuki Hirata. Ihashi danced with Hirata for a bit but then pinned him with a School Boy. Kota Ibushi was there to watch over the match and when Yukio Sakaguchi suddenly appeared at ringside, Ibushi allowed him to fight Ihashi in a Vale Tudo match. Sakaguchi pretty much killed Ihashi with punches and kicks. Even though FUMA threw in the towel, Ibushi thought Ihashi still had a chance and let the fight continue. Sakaguchi beat the crap out of Ihashi even more to the point where the ref wanted to stop it but Ibushi was still convinced Ihashi had a chance. Finally Ibushi called for the end and awarded the fight to Sakaguchi. Ibushi said he was satisfied and assured the crowd Ihashi was all right.

There were two bonus matches on the show. One was planned by Sasaki and it was a Falls Count Anywhere bout between DJ Nira and Daisuke Kiso. Nira was placed in submission after submission. Yukinori Matsui was pulled out of the ring right before Nira submitted. Nira called Kiso a bully but also said if Kiso just went for the pin, he would let him win. Kiso did what Nira asked him and counted to three. However, the bell never rang and there was no announcement. Instead a bunch of people circled round Kiso and told him “Congratulations!” one after the other. Nira then attacked Kiso and dragged him under the ring. Matsui recovered, looked under the ring and decided that Yasu Urano was the winner because he was the only wrestler visible at ringside.

Kenny’s bonus match took place at the beginning of the show. When he said that he was suddenly greeted by a new masked gaijin wrestler who goes by the name Super Strong Sasadango Scorpion Machine Jr. Kenny decided the newcomer would face Shunma Katsumata. Machine beat him and offered a handshake afterwards but Katsumata rejected it.

4. Yukio Sakaguchi & KUDO defeated Isami Kodaka & FUMA when Sakaguchi submitted FUMA with the Modified Cobra Clutch (16:56).

Everybody sang Happy Birthday to Yukio Sakaguchi after the main event. He turned 41 on 26th July. Masa Takanashi said that the show was not Shuten-dōji Day but Yukio Sakaguchi Day instead.

One thing to expect during Beer Garden week every year is a ghost story from Hisaya Imabayashi. This time around there was a 6 Way Match taking place in the ring. If the match didn’t end in 3 minutes, Imabayashi would begin his story. Danshoku Dino was scared but Yoshiko bragged that she would win in 3 minutes. She lived up to her word and pinned Shunma Katsumata with 2 seconds left to spare. However the match had to be restarted with a 30 second time limit and this time Yoshiko couldn’t pin Katsumata before the clock ran out. And so, Imabayashi began his tales…

I once knew a couple who decided to have a barbecue with their friends by the river during their summer vacation. Everyone was happy until the boyfriend whispered “When I say run away. We run. Got it?” “Eh? Why do you say such a thing?” A few minutes later the boyfriend yelled “Run away!” At that moment both of them ran far away from the river. When they finally stopped to catch their breath, the girlfriend asked “Why did we run away?” The boyfriend answered “Everybody was eating food out of their left hand.” “Is that strange? Are not all of them left handed?” “It is impossible for all of them to be left handed. They must be ghosts!”

I killed my wife. Fortunately our kindergarten son was fast asleep when I put the wife’s dead body in the car. I drove up to the mountains and dug a hole to bury her in. The next morning my son ate breakfeast as always and went to kindergarten as always. I never explained what happened to her and he never made a fuss about it. But soon he became curious and would look me in the eye. Soon it became unbearable and I wondered if he knew I killed my wife. Then one day when we had our meal he just stared at me and at last he spoke “Why are you giving Mommy a piggyback ride all the time?” I looked behind me but couldn’t see anything. My son then said “Mommy jumped off your back and ran away.” I was left with chills.

I killed a man’s wife while she was pregnant. I buried her beneath a bench under a cherry tree in the park. A few years later I walked past the tree and saw a child crying. I asked him “Where is your Mom?” In tears, he pointed to the bench under the tree. No way… He looked at me when I asked where his Dad was. “Dad is… You!”

Everybody in the ring was anticipating the jump scare but this time it did not happen. Imabayashi admitted he was feeling tired. He just returned from a funeral of his friend who died in a sudden accident. There was a strange atmosphere in the train that day. There were only a few passengers but everyone according to Imabayashi was as dumb as a bag of hammers. He felt a cold sensation in his back muscles as if something just gave him a tight hug. As the train journeyed on into the night he fell asleep until he heard a strange whisper, “You… Next up is you…” Imabayashi woke up and looked around but nobody was speaking to him.

Back in the ring Imabayashi pointed at the wrestlers everytime he said you, hoping to get some sort of frightened reaction. Toru Owashi just slapped his hand away. He looked forward Imabayashi’s ghost stories and was left disappointed. Katsumata said he became a pro wrestler just so he could get to hear the ghost story! Dino encouraged Imabayashi to try one more time. He did and this time his “YOU!” jump scare worked! He pointed at everyone in the ring one after the other, causing them to pass out in fright. Then “Wild Thing” played over the speakers while Imabayashi dumped bottles of water into the audience.

4. Michael Nakazawa, MIKAMI & Tomomitsu Matsunaga defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata when Nakazawa submitted Hirata with the HVS (8:49).
5. Enter Sandman Falls Count Anywhere 3 Way Match: Super Sasadango Machine defeated Danshoku Dino and Antonio Honda when Machine pinned Dino with the Vertical Drop Lehman Shock (12:52).
6. New Year’s Eve Revenge!?: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Tetsuya Endo with a High Angle German Suplex (15:58).
7. Kenny Omega & Daisuke Sasaki defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano when Sasaki pinned Urano after the Freedom Call (18:34).

Kenny Omega was on the winning side of the main event with Daisuke Sasaki. Omega told HARASHIMA that it was a good warm up for Sumo Hall but noted the absence of Isami Kodama. He then told the crowd that his first appearance for DDT was during Beer Garden week and some of his favourite memories are from the annual event.

DDT’s two new generation stars Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo got to have their rematch from “NEVER MIND 2013” last December. The two Happy Motel members went full blast but like last time, Takeshita wound up on top. Takeshita was happy to show everyone how much he and Endo have grown since then. Endo thinks he has grown stronger and has more stamina. He is still young and will evolve more and more in the ring while having fun too.

If for some reason anybody in the audience was still feeling nostalgic for ECW, they got their fill with the Enter Sandman Falls Count Anywhere match. Danshoku Dino, Super Sasadango Machine and Antonio Honda all did The Sandman entrance and attacked each other with Singapore Canes and cans of beer. Sasadango eventually pinned Dino with the Vertical Drop Lehman Shock.

Michael Nakazawa’s hybrid training with Minoru Suzuki is beginning to pay off. He now has a new finishing move called the HVS, the Hybrid Venom Arm Sleeper. It’s a Sleeper Hold that is applied while Nakazawa smothers his opponent with his loose tights.

The rules of the Drunkers High Match was a wrestler had to drink a cup of sake everytime a pin attempt failed or a submission hold reached a rope break. Masa Takanashi and DJ Nira were already a little tipsy before the match even began. They and their opponents Shunma Katsumata & Saki Akai would go on to get hammered, toasting each other after every pin attempt and filling their cups over and over. Referee Daisuke Kiso even joined in and was accidentally knocked down by a Diving Cross Body from Akai who was too drunk to aim properly. Kiso kept getting attacked by everyone trying to stop the pinfalls and he demanded the match end as a No Contest. Akai gave him a Big Boot and was then joined by in the ring by KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi for more rounds of sake.

The show ended with Kazuki Hirata dancing alone in the ring.

New information about the DDT Dramatic General Election was revealed at the start of the show. There will be 48 wrestlers involved but they will all be competing as part of their unit. The units announced so far are:

Smile Squash (HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano & Akito)
Shuten-dōji (KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi)
Team Dream Futures (Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao)
Golden Storm Riders (Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega & Daisuke Sasaki)
Happy Motel (Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo)
T2Hide (Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata)
Otoko-Kata-Shinki (Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & Shunma Katsumata)

Sanshiro Takagi wanted to name his team T2P because his and Toru Owashi’s first name begin with T and Kazuki Hirata begins with P. Hirata said that wasn’t true so Owashi tried to rename him Pira Hirata. Takagi eventually decided on naming his team T2Hide and then demanded they wrestle in a hexagonal shaped ring. Michael Nakazawa & Tomomitsu Matsunaga asked MIKAMI to join their unit but he rejected them and said he’d rather team with Gorgeous Matsuno because of the two of them go back a long way to DDT’s early days.
