It is a couple of days before “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2026” and DDT went to Ikebukuro for an outdoor day of matches and contract signings. At first it looked like the matches held on the day would not have much circumstances to until the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title got dragged into things. First the title changed hands multiple times going from Ilusion to Yuni then back to Ilusion. He mocked the fans afterward for spending their free time on a Friday to be at this show and claimed to have hired 60 guards to protect him from losing the title before next week’s Sumo Hall show. However a brawl later broke out between a group of wrestlers all wanting to fight Ilusion. Masami Inahata put him in an Argentine Backbreaker to win the title but he would end up losing it in the main event to Takeshi Masada. After all of that, Yuki Ishida sneakily pinned Masada after the match to win the title and still have it by the night’s end.

Contract signings were held throughout the day for the big matches happening at Sumo Hall. MAO talked about getting to fight Yuki Ueno for the KO-D Openweight Title again. In the past DDT was defined by the HARASHIMA/KUDO era, the Kota Ibushi/Kenny Omega era and the Konosuke Takeshita/Tetsuya Endo era. Right now it’s just the Yuki Ueno era so by winning this match MAO gets to add his name next to Ueno and everyone will know which two wrestlers were leading this era of DDT. MAO also wants to be at his most dazzling for the match so he has changed his hair back to an old hairstyle and is confident he can unleash 200% of his pro wrestling because Ueno is his opponent. Ueno said he enjoyed the matches he’s had with MAO in the last month and it’s hard to put into words how much joy it’s given him. If MAO is that motivated to reach the level Ueno is at now it only motivates Ueno to beat him and climb even higher. It’s all so he can help bring DDT to the Tokyo Dome.

Konosuke Takeshita had taken time away from the G1 CLIMAX to appear at this event and hype up his match with Kaisei Takechi. According to Takechi, 99% of his fans are expecting Takeshita to win but he is going to put his whole life on the line for the 1% that believe he will win. Hearing that, Takeshita promised to put everything he’s learned in his 14 year career into his match against Takechi. He also ensures he will be at 100% and he isn’t feeling fatigue from fighting in the G1.

Perhaps there is a future in store for Kazuma Sumi and Ryusuke Taguchi as tag team partners after their DDT Universal Title match. Taguchi wanted to study his opponent in the lead up to the show and thankfully he discovered Wrestle Universe offers a week long free trial. He still hasn’t gotten around to using it yet but he encourages everyone go use the offer to watch Sumi use him as a stepping stone. Taguchi hasn’t found a tag partner for the upcoming Super Jr. Tag League so he suggests maybe Sumi can team up with him and get the same haircut so they can become The Buzz Cut Brothers. Sumi did subscribe to NJPW World so he could study Taguchi but he can’t grasp what his weaknesses are yet. He also doesn’t want to shave his head to a buzz cut again because he did it once before for a drama role and everyone around him at the time thought he did something wrong and got his head shaved to apologise for it. He will consider Taguchi’s idea to team up though. After they signed the contract Taguchi hit Sumi with a Hip Attack but Sumi got him back by giving him a Kancho butt poke.

The DDT Extreme Title match now has a stipulation and it is a dangerous one. Hideki Okatani believes simply having a Hardcore match with Shunma Katsumata again would be underwhelming so he decided they are going to have a Barbed Wire Death Match! Katsumata ran down the history of Hardcore matches he previously had with Okatani and said he feels incredibly happy to be such a special person in Okatani’s heart. He thinks he is the only who can motivate Okatani to bring out his real self and will beat the real Okatani to win the Extreme Title. Even though Okatani is the champion, he is treating this match like he is the challenger and he thinks the fans will see something amazing at Sumo Hall.

HARASHIMA announced he will become a PR ambassador to promote Ome City later this year. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise, the name Ome has been in FANTÔMES DRAMATIC all along!
