5. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Ultraman Robin & Ultraman Giant defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi (c) when Ultraman Robin pinned Kikuchi with a Jackknife Hold (10:05).
*Ultraman Robin becomes the 866th champion.
6. TLC Match – DDT Extreme Title: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated El Samurai with the Chair-Assisted Double Knee Drop from the top of the Ladder (12:33).
*V3 for Kodaka.
Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Tsuyoshi Kikuchi defeated Ultraman Robin (c) with the Fireball Bomb (7:00 pm).
*Tsuyoshi Kikuchi becomes the 867th champion.
Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Antonio Honda defeated Tsuyoshi Kikuchi (c) with a Backslide Pin (7:10 pm).
*Antonio Honda becomes the 868th champion.

Isami Kodaka defended the DDT Extreme Title against his most experienced challenger to date, El Samurai. This time the title was defended in a proper TLC match with Kodaka climbing to the top of the ladder with a steel chair and leaping off, delivering a Double Knee Drop over the chair and onto El Samurai for the win.

The battle over the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title crossed over to Union when the DDT show ended. During the evening Tsuyoshi Kikuchi constantly thwarted Antonio Honda’s attempts at winning the title from him. It wasn’t until the semi-main event when someone was finally able to beat Kikuchi. That person was Ultraman Robin, who brought along his sidekick Giant Robin to defeat the TKG48 pair of Kikuchi & Sanshiro Takagi. Kikuchi won the title back at the end of the night, only for Antonio Honda to finally catch the champ off guard and become champion again.

Ken Ohka’s problems with Mio Shirai continue with Ohka once again left embarrased by the Triple Tails girl. Shirai defeated Ohka with the Figure Four Neck Lock, a move she has used to get rid of Ohka time and time again. Even worse for Ken, Shirai won the SGP Jr. Heavyweight Title from him in his first defence. And just when Ohka thought it couldn’t get even more embarrassing, Mio handed Ohka a new ‘belt’ he had to wear, a dog collar. Needless to say, Mio is now calling herself Ken Ohka’s master.

Match #3 is said to be Hiro Tsumaki’s best performance to date, particularly his moments in the ring with Toru Sugiura.

Big Morohashi was nominated for the Anal Blast Opening Ceremony election for Sumo Hall. Naomi Susan is enthusiastic in her support for Morohashi in the election.

1. DDT Extreme Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs El Samurai

This is a surprise. No one would have guessed that Isami Kodaka’s next DDT Extreme Title defence would be against El Samurai!

One last note, for a while I have been getting Keita Yano’s name wrong. I have mistakenly been calling him Yano K Data all this time, thinking this was a seperate gimmick he only used in Union. Turns out he goes pretty much everywhere dressed as a cross between Doink The Clown and The Joker. The Google Translate site has recently improved its results for translating Japanese into English and vice versa, so now the kanji for his name correctly comes up as Keita Yano instead of Yano K Data. So I’m going to go back through the posts and make the corrections to his name.

7b. MIKAMI defeated Isami Kodaka with the Suicide Bomb from the tope of a ladder (9:43).
7c. Isami Kodaka defeated MIKAMI with a Leglock (6:28).
*V2 for Isami Kodaka.

Isami Kodaka resisted a fierce challenge from MIKAMI to keep the DDT Extreme Championship. In a Best 2 out of 3 Falls match, Isami got the first fall by beating MIKAMI with his own favorite move, the School Boy. MIKAMI’s ladder came into play in the second fall and the challenger’s expert use of the object helped him tie the score. However in the third fall, Kodaka was able to break down MIKAMI’s leg and eventually submit him to stay as champion.

Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa became Tag Team Champions once more by winning the Big China Unified Nakahara Tag Team Titles from Chou-un Shiryu & Cao Zhang. Their match turned hardcore with plenty of brawling among the crowds plus the use of foreign objects like tables, a bicycle and a pile of DVDs. Princess Makoto even got involved by climbing on top of a barricade and diving onto the challengers. However it just was not meant to be for the New Beijing crew and their illustrious championship is now in the hands of the TKG48. Could this be the rebirth of the “Greatest Title Run Ever”? We will soon find out as it was announced that the first team to challenge the new champs will be The Great Sasuke & Ricky Fuji!

2. KO-D Openweight Title: Shuji Ishikawa (c) Vs GENTARO
3. KO-D Openweight Title: Shuji Ishikawa or GENTARO (c) Vs Takao Soma

Shuji Ishikawa has a tough challenge ahead for his title reign. He will defend the KO-D Openweight Title against GENTARO on 19th July when GENTARO cashes in his “Anytime And Anywhere” contract. But that is not all for the championship on that night. There will be not one but two KO-D Title matches taking place in Korakuen Hall with the winner of Shuji Ishikawa Vs GENTARO taking on Takao Soma afterwards. Takao Soma has seen his profile in DDT rise ever since he won the Young Drama Cup. Since then, he has taken over the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation and revamped it to be a threat instead of a joke. Now he will have the advantage of being the fresh man in his title match.

We had the surprising return of Masa Takanashi at “MAX BUMP 2011” to announce his comeback match at the 19th June Korakuen Hall show. He will take on Keisuke Ishii in his first match since injuring his right knee last May and it will be for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship. When Masa and Keisuke had a faceoff at “MAX BUMP 2011”, Ishii used the 24/7 rule to his advantage by rolling over Masa with a Small Package to win the title when Masa least expected it. However, Masa quickly did the same to Ishii to win the belt back. Now they will meet in a proper match with the title on the line.

Yep, Isami Kodaka successfully defended the DDT Extreme Championship by using a special attack taken from Naruto. MIKAMI might be the next challenger for the belt.

TKG48 announced their latest recruit. Please welcome Member #17: Genichiro Tenryu! He will appear at the next Union show on 3rd April in Shinjuku FACE for a 6-Man Tag match. It will be Tenryu, Sanshiro Takagi & Shigehiro Irie Vs Shuji Ishikawa, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Hiro Tsumaki. Takagi allowed Union to rent Kikuchi from TKG48 for the match. Meanwhile, Antonio Honda lost the KO-D Title Unification match while Daisuke Sasaki has been on the losing end of Tag matches against the GRANMA group. Does the team of GENTARO and Urano have enough momentum to unseat the champions and become the top duo in DDT?

6. No DQ Hair Vs Hair Match: Hikaru Sato Vs Takao Soma
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Dick Togo (c) Vs HARASHIMA

Four months until Dick Togo calls time on his wrestling career. There are three KO-D Openweight Title defences planned between now and then with Togo retiring a month before the Sumo Hall show. Togo’s next defence is against HARASHIMA, who is gets his first chance at the title since losing it back in November.

No interference is allowed for the Hair Vs Hair match between Hikaru Sato and Takao Soma. We’ll see how Soma fares without having the rest of the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation there to help him.

I may be wrong on the translation, but I think the winner of the Battle Royal will get to make his own match for this year’s Sumo Hall event. More entries will be announced eventually.

I have high hopes for Kota Ibushi Vs Shigehiro Irie, this could be a really fun match. Irie has been honing his skills while fighting for TKG48 in their feud with the Union Sekigun and a win against Ibushi would do wonders for his career.

2. Shuji Ishikawa, Seiya Morohashi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi Vs Yoshiaki Yago, Kengo Mashimo & Madoka
3. DDT Extreme Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Cao Zhang (w/ Princess Makoto)

Tensions are building up in Union coming out of their recent show. The Union Sekigun now have to contend with two opposing groups, the TKG48 and the newly named SS Susan, who can also be referred to as the Susan Guard. The new threat consists of Yoshiaki Yago, Kengo Mashimo and Madoka who all claim that they were hired to be Naomi Susan’s bodyguards. Union and TKG48 seem to be willing to put aside their differences for the moment so they can take on a common enemy. Sanshiro Takagi has allowed Shuji Ishikawa and Seiya Morohashi to rent Tsuyoshi Kikuchi as their partner for the upcoming 6-Man Tag match against the SS Susan.

The biggest match coming out of Union’s next show will be Isami Kodaka’s first defence of the DDT Extreme Title. His opponent is Cao Zhang from New Beijing Pro Wrestling, who has been on a roll in Union ever since Choun-Shiryu brought him over to Japan. Part of their success comes in the seductive form of Princess Makoto who has distracted referees during their matches. Another part of their success is a giant mallet they use to whack their opponents with once the ref’s back in turned. What kind of match the title will be contested under is unknown right now but expect Makoto and the giant mallet to come into play whether they will be allowed to or not.

So far Shinichiro Tominaga has spent his time in Union taking on accomplished wrestlers such as El Generico, El Samurai and Tigers Mask. The trend continues when Tominaga will take on Hikaru Sato in what will be Sato’s first match in Union. The former KO-D Openweight Champion has been spending time in IGF and ZERO1 lately, the latter being where he and Munenori Sawa have formed a team called the SEX-MEN. Not sure if they come out to the 1990’s X-Men cartoon theme song but it would be another reason to like them if they did.

3. DDT Extreme Title – Captain’s Fall Six Man Tag: Isami Kodaka (c), Yano K Data & Survival Tobita defeated Kim Nun Pun (c), Chou-un Shiryu & Cao Zhang (with Princess Makoto) when Kodaka pinned Pun with the Diving Double Knee Drop (7:23).
*Kim Nun Pun fails in V1. Isamai Kodaka becomes the 15th DDT Extreme Champion.
4. Bread Eating Deathmatch: Tsuyoshi Kikuchi (2.5) defeated Ken Ohka (1.5).
5. Shinichiro Tominaga Debut Match: El Generico defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!! (16:11).
6. Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa defeated Kengo Ohka & Madoka when Takagi pinned Madoka with the SHB (19:43).
7. Manabu Nakanishi defeated Shuji Ishikawa with the Hercules Cutter (13:40).

It’s a new year and a new spring of life for Union. 2011 looks to be very good for DDT’s sleazier step-brother as the brand plans to be lot more active in the next 12 months. Union ace, Shuji Ishikawa put up a strong effort to Manabu Nakanishi of New Japan, but the strongman’s “Muscle Orchestra” was just too loud for Shuji to overcome. Manabu did give Shuji plenty of praise after the match though.

The TKG48 was victorious over Union once again with Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa defeating Kengo Mashimo & Madoka. However, Yoshiaki Yago appeared after the match to join forces with Union. He has formed his own unit to battle with his arch enemy Takagi. For now the unit is called the Revolutionary Armed Forces and their first battle with TKG48 will be a 6-Man Tag at Shinjuku FACE on 3rd February.

El Generico made his first appearance for Union, mask and all. He defeated the debuting Shinichiro Tominaga with the always deadly Corner Brainbuster. Tominaga’s next opponent was confirmed to be Tigers Mask from Osaka Pro.

After six long months of recovery, Ken Ohka promised to eat lots of bread to grow strong. So he had a Bread Eating Deathmatch with Tsuyoshi Kikuchi with the winner being whoever ate most of the bread that was hanging above the ring. Kikuchi had a nice glass of milk to wash down all the bread he ate after he won.

Isami Kodaka won the DDT Extreme Championship in the Captain’s Fall Six Man Tag. Kim Nun Pun’s reign was cut short by Isami’s Diving Double Knee Drop. No word on any monster sightings while Survival Tobita was in the ring.

Two other matches were announced for February 3rd. Shuji Ishikawa and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi will pair off against each other while Ken Ohka will take on Canada’s “First Lady of Hardcore”, LuFisto!

Ryuji Ito was introduced as another member of the TKG48. So far, all of the members of TKG48 that we know of are Sanshiro Takagi, Shigehiro Irie, Munenori Sawa, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, Ryuji Ito and DJ Nira.
