*V1 for Crying Wolf.

Shigehiro Irie’s Road Warrior style shoulder armour was accidentaly destroyed during Match #5. HARASHIMA apologised and promised to put it back together with glue but it wasn’t enough to stop Irie from crying as he left the ring after the match. The armour was worth 33,000円.

The 4 Way Match was cancelled when Don Michael complained about feeling too hot to wrestle. Antonio Honda blamed Michael’s condition on global warming. Makoto Oishi said that Honda was spewing out so much carbon dioxide from his mouth it was making things worse. So everyone decided not to wrestle today in order to protect the planet from global warming.

DDT/DRAGON GATE “DDG COMES BACK”, 13/05/2012

0. Special Dark Match: Michael Nakazawa Vs Stalker Ichikawa

For the first time in four years, DDT and Dragon Gate will get together again for their Dramatic Dream Gate joint show. This will be the third DDG show to take place and the first to happen outside of Tokyo. Notable moments that took place in the previous events include Danshoku Dino and Masaaki Mochizuki swapping bodies before their match, a dream face off between Kota Ibushi and BxB HulkStalker Ichikawa and Gorgeous Matsuno building up a ridiculous rivalry where neither of them could get the upper hand, and CIMA getting way more of Dino and Akira Tozawa than he bargained for.

4. Yasu Urano, Yuji Hino & Keita Yano defeated Makoto Oishi, Akito & Hiroshi Fukuda when Hino pinned Fukuda with the Fuckin’ Bomb (12:38).
5. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma defeated Tigers Mask & DJ Nira when Takagi pinned Mask after the Boma Ye from Yukinori Matsui (10:04).
6. Hikaru Sato & HARASHIMA defeated Danshoku Dino & KUDO when Sato submitted Dino with the Heel Hold (19:41).

Hikaru Sato scored a big victory over Danshoku Dino in the build up to their KO-D Openweight Title match next week. Sato’s vast experience in submissions were too much for Dino to handle in the Tag Team main event which also included HARASHIMA and KUDO. Dino had no choice but to tap out to Sato’s Heel Hold, possibly giving the challenger a clear target to focus on when the title match takes place. Meanwhile HARASHIMA is already staking claim to challenge Sato to a KO-D Title match in Osaka if Sato becomes the next champion. Should the road lead to this match becoming a reality, it will be a rematch of Sato’s dramatic KO-D Title win over HARASHIMA that took place in Osaka back in 2010.

I was not a good day for Osaka’s own Tigers Mask. First he lost the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship to MIYAWAKI before he even got a chance to defend it against Antonio Honda. Then he lost his tag team match later in the show when referee Yukinori Matsui had enough of his antics and knocked him out with a Boma Ye knee strike.

An update on the current whereabouts of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship over in Osaka Pro. Miyuji Matsuyama lost the belt to Ebessan on 1st March in a 3 Way match that also involved Miracleman. Ebessan then lost the title to Kanjyuro Matsuyama. I’ll let the Osaka Holiday Paradise site explain what happened:

“After the show, Ebessan suffered what apparently was a stroke near the goods shop. Kanjyuro went over to deliver a heart massage to his fellow Unique Gundan member and managed to become the 888th Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion.”

Earlier today, Tigers Mask pinned Kanyuro in the main event 3 Way match also involving Atsushi Kotoge to become the 889th and latest Iron Man champion. If he is still champion on the 4th March, he will defend the belt against Antonio Honda when DDT shows up in Osaka for “DOTONBORI STORY 11”.

More New Beijing Drama, Dotonbori Story Card

February 23, 2012

NEW BEIJING “NEW YEAR JAPAN TOUR 2012”, 26/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Heaven Six Wheel Challenge:

Remember when I mentioned how New Beijing fans were worried that the recent takeover of the promotion would lead to a TKG48 style group being formed? Well, it happened. The mysterious Emperor Liang, former owner of New Beijing has created the Ryozanpaku48 to combat the new owners Bushoroad, headed by Chiang Wei. Eleven members of the Ryozanpaku48 will compete in New Beijing’s tour of Japan. They are Liang Huang, Yasuo Atsushi, Statue Of David, First Emperor, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Xiang Jie, Jie Mai Nakazawa, Humpback Jie, Jet Bar & Witch Choi Lee. A little bit of investigation reveals that Xiahou Dun & Xiahou Yuan are a very skillful tag team with dazzling abilities that are like a “blooming cactus flower” (hint, hint).

The Japan tour next week could not have come at a more hazardous time for New Beijing as the two sides will use Shin-Kiba 1st RING as their battleground for the Heaven Six Wheel Challenge. Chiang Wei has created a Fighting Man Cram School theme for his roster and has more plans for the future. But the appearance of the Ryozanpaku 48 to challenge his control of the company could see Wei’s ownership become short lived.

Still no word on the whereabouts of Princess Makoto. Maybe she was kidnapped after all. Possibly by a scheming, green-liquid spitting devil of some sort.

Hikaru Sato is next in line for a shot at Danshoku Dino and his KO-D Openweight Championship. Their first skirmish will be in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring when DDT holds their latest NON-FIX event. While Sato & Michael Nakazawa haven’t been so successful with their re-established tag team, the upcoming title shot and push up the card should be more than enough motivation to improve their talent and teamwork.

NEW BEIJING “NEW YEAR JAPAN TOUR 2012”, 26/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Heaven Six Wheel Challenge:

The roster for the New Beijing show in Japan has been announced on DDT’s website. Regular DDT and Union guests Choun-Shiryu and Cao Zhang are among the competitors. The fighters involved who have previously participated in New Beijing’s tours of Japan or DDT itself include Tairo, Yasuura No, Earl Dino, Son Goku and Giant Boshoku. Joining them are three new additions to the roster who will all be stepping foot in Japan for the first time. The three newcomers are Hiroshi Fukuoka, “Raw Miharu” Murata Kanazawa and Xiang Mon Ying. Fukuoka is known as the class clown of the group. Kanazawa is a renowned intellectual who studies ancient Rome and is fluent in Italian. Ying is the only female of the group. She boasts about her good looks and was a finalist in the Miss Xian Princess 2011 contest. She is also a shaolin master with a successful pro wrestling career in China. So don’t underestimate her.

DDT is finally making an attempt to repossess the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title by having the champion defending the belt when DDT returns to Osaka. Miyuki Matsuyama is the current champion but she rarely appears in public. When she does, it is to take part in Osaka Pro Wrestling shows. Until DDT comes to town they will be hoping that the Osaka Pro roster will lure out the ghostly champion and grab the belt off of her somehow.

3. KO-D Tag Team Title: Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma
4. KO-D Openweight Title: Danshoku Dino (c) Vs Hikaru Sato

Sanshiro Takagi’s Anti-Establishment unit is gaining momentum and also proving to be very beneficial for Takao Soma. The former Shit Heart ♥ Foundation leader has earned several wins lateley ever since he adopted the Boma Ye knee strike as his finisher. Takagi & Soma now have a KO-D Tag Team Title shot but that means taking on the Crying Wolf faction and their dominant team of Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino.

New Beijing Situation, Nakazawa Educates

February 18, 2012

NEW BEIJING “NEW YEAR JAPAN TOUR 2012”, 26/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Heaven Six Wheel Challenge:

I have some updates concerning New Beijing Pro Wrestling over its recent takeover. For many years, the promotion was ruled over by Zhuge Liang until his transferred his power to a company named Bushoroad. The company is headed by a 24 year old man name Chiang Wei. As already mentioned, Bushoroad create bootleg high quality playing cards that do not break copyright laws in any way whatsoever. Chiang turned Bushoroad into the success story it is today with some state-of-the-art ideas and a fresh approach to thinking.

As the new president of New Beijing, his first idea is to re-train his roster under a new system. Previously, New Beijing’s fighters were trained like demon soldiers in an army heading to war. Chiang wants the training system to be more like a boarding school where his fighters have to enroll and cram until they are ready to compete for the new ownership.

Chiang’s plans have received criticism among the Chinese wrestling community. There are fears that his attitude and ideas will lead to a situation where the Chinese knockoff equivalent of the TKG48 comes to fruition and takes over the company. There is also concern that the lovely Princess Makoto could be kidnapped in the midst of the potential chaos brought on by the changes. Rumours of Princess Makoto jumping ship to a rival promotion called AX have turned out to be false (and created by myself).

This all leads to New Beijing’s planned trip to Japan. It is still on schedule for the end of the month. While they are keeping quiet on what they have planned, DDT have reported on their webite that there is a sense of emergency in New Beijing and Chiang is bringing together his best “students” to prepare for a battle that legend says takes place once every four years, the Heaven Six Wheel Challenge.

6. DDT Extreme Title – BLT (Buckets, Ladders & Tonkachi) Match: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated Sexxxy Eddy with the Zan Isamu Leg (20:52).
*V1 for Isami Kodaka.

Even though Sexxxy Eddy did not win the DDT Extreme Title, he did win over the fans with his gutsy performance. Buckets (trash cans), Ladders, Tables and the dreaded Tonkachi were all used during the match. Eddy earned the highlight of the night by placing one of the buckets over his body and Moonsaulting onto Isami Kodaka. However, Kodaka was able to handle everything his challenger could throw at him and left Osaka with the DDT Extreme Championship still wrapped around his waist.

Black Buffalo rubbed Mio Shirai the wrong way by calling her and Ken Ohka a married couple. Mio corrected him and said she is Ohka’s master, nothing else. Despite her opinion on the matter, she was heard shouting “Do your best, Ohka!” to her tag team partner during the most dramatic moment of the match. Her encouraging words were helpful enough for the mismatched pair to score the upset win.
