New Beijing Sold, Cherry’s Announcement, KUDO Ill, BLT Match

February 9, 2012

NEW BEIJING “NEW YEAR JAPAN TOUR 2012”, 26/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

Breaking news coming straight in from China. New Beijing Pro Wrestling, a federation with links to DDT that has been running for thousands and thousands of years is now under new ownership. The company was bought out by an up-and-coming bootleg playing card company with grand aspirations to make New Beijing the number one wrestling promotion on the planet. Their planned return to Japan this month will still go ahead with the “NEW YEAR JAPAN TOUR 2012” beginning and ending in Shin-Kiba 1st RING on the 26th.

With new ownership comes a new structure for the company. New Beijing will now encourage their vast roster of fighters to follow three simple values: Friendship, Effort and Victory. The new owners and staff are now looking forward to visiting Japan for the upcoming tour.

Cherry will have an important announcement on this show about her future in pro wrestling. She says it is something very serious that she has been considering for a while and even tried to go through with several times in the past.

1. Special Battle Royal: HARU Vs Agu Matsunaga Vs Yuki Tanaka Vs Hideki Shiota
2. Cherry Vs Maki Narumiya

4. Ken Ohka & Mio Shirai Vs Black Buffalo & Tigers Mask
5. Shuji Ishikawa & Shigehiro Irie Vs El Generico & Hiroshi Fukuda
6. DDT Extreme Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Sexxxy Eddy

Maki Narumiya is from Ice Ribbon and will almost have a full year of experience under her belt by the time her match with Cherry takes place. Meanwhile I predict Cherry will use the match as an opportunity to claim she is younger than everyone from Ice Ribbon, including the teens.

The Special Battle Royal so far features wrestlers from around the Osaka indie wrestling scene. Union is hoping to discover some fresh talent to add to their shows and this match could create some opportunities for the wrestlers involved.

Night, Night. Don’t Let The Dino Bite

NJPW/CMLL “NJPW PRESENTS CMLL FANTASTICA MANIA 2012”, 21/01/12
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1,950 Fans – Super No Vacancy

TAKA Michinoku & Taichi defeated Danshoku Dino & Maximo when Taichi pinned Taichi with a Horizontal Cradle (8:04).

One year after teaming together, Danshoku Dino returned to New Japan to team up with the pink mohawked Luchador Maximo once again for the New Japan & CMLL co-production of “FANTASTICA MANIA”. Before their match with TAKA Michinoku & Taichi even began, Dino tried to kiss Milano Collection AT at the commentator’s table. Milano avoided Dino by dragging another commentator in his place for the kiss. Even though Dino and Maximo got along fabulously and recieved chants of “Maxi-Dino” from the fans, their efforts could not defeat TAKA & Taichi. Dino & Maximo let bygones be bygones and both kissed the referee at the same time after the match. Dino then chased Taichi into the locker room.

Danshoku Dino last held the KO-D Openweight Title in 2005. It was his only KO-D Title reign and since then he has had around six shots at the belt. KUDO will break the record for most KO-D Title defences if he defeats Dino.

DDT “TRULY ULTRA SUPER BAZOOKA!”, 11/02/2012
Nagoya Arsenal Hall

1. KO-D Tag Team Title: Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino (c) Vs Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie

The former champs get their rematch with Crying Wolf. Unsurprisingly, no one has been able to match the strength of Yuji Hino so far. Will Keisuke Ishii have discovered a fatal flaw to exploit after his Korakuen Hall match with Hino?

UNION “FORTUNE DEMONS 2012”, 10/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Mio Shirai Vs Sexxxy Eddy
2. Ken Ohka Vs El Generico
3. Shuji Ishikawa & Shigehiro Irie Vs Kengo Ohka & Madoka
4. BJW Tag Team Title: Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto (c) Vs Kazuki Hashimoto & Takumi Tsukamoto

The main event for the Union 10/2 show in Shin-Kiba will be something for fans of Big Japan Wrestling to look forward to. Isami Kodaka has invited his tag team partner Yuko Miyamoto over to Union to defend their BJW Tag Team Championship against Kazuki Hashimoto & Takumi Tsukamoto. Isami is currently a double champion. He recently won the DDT Extreme Title and has held the BJW Tag Title with Miyamoto since May 2011.

The Union and Big Japan crossover does not stop there. Union announced that they will be hosting a joint show with Big Japan at Shinjuku FACE on 29th March. At the press conference where the news was announced, Ken Ohka said the Union Vs Big Japan rivalry will be a lot like the New Japan Pro Wrestling Vs UWF International feud from 1995. Meanwhile, Yuko Miyamoto said he wanted to have a DDT Extreme Title match with his friend Isami sometime in the future. There was also a mention of Cherry taking on a female Death Match Champion named Toka Kobayashi. Hmmm, that name sounds familiar…

The show will also have the debut match of New Sanshiro Takagi. The original Sanshiro Takagi has seen his workload for both DDT and Union in 2012 become too much to handle, so he has brought along Keizo Matsuda of IWA Japan to literally take his place in Union for the time being. This is not the first time Matsuda has portrayed a duplicate. He was formerly Fake HG in HUSTLE.

After losing to MIKAMI at Sumo Hall and then getting dismantled by Daisuke Sasaki during Beer Fight week, Sawada visited a fortune teller to search for a solution to his problems. The fortune teller told him that the name ‘Poison Sawada JULIE’ is filled with bad vibes. If he was to change his name, it could lead to a new golden age for Sawada. So now Sawada is currently searching through his scrolls and studying his ancient scripts in the hopes of discovering a name that will lead to a new chapter of his life. He will debut his new moniker at Korakuen Hall.

1. Sanshiro Takagi defeated Great Kayser with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb (4:29).
2. Hikaru Sato & Kazuki Hirata defeated Keisuke Ishii & Akito when Sato pinned Akito with a Middle Kick (10:41).
3. DJ Nira Vs Hideki Shiota ended in a No Contest when the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation attacked both wrestlers (8:52).
4. Takao Soma, Super Shit Machine & Tomimitsu Matsunaga defeated HARASHIMA, MIKAMI & Daisuke Sasaki when Machine pinned Sasaki with the SHIT! Down Power Bomb (11:41).
5. Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi defeated Antonio Honda & Michael Nakazawa when Oishi pinned Nakazawa with the Miracle Ecstasy (9:40).
6. Yasu Urano defeated KUDO with an Inside Cradle (13:55).
7. Dick Togo & GENTARO defeated Kota Ibushi & Shigehiro Irie when Togo pinned Irie with the Diving Senton (20:58).

Michael Nakazawa was confronted by the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation in the ring, with group demanding that their former member shave his head bald for siding with Hikaru Sato during his No DQ Hair Vs Hair match with SHF leader Takao Soma. Nakazawa ended up gambling his hair on the DJ Nira Vs Hideki Shiota match. He picked Shiota to win the match but it didn’t matter as the SHF attacked both participants to cause a No Contest and then began to shave off Nakazawa’s hair. DJ Nira also got in on the action much to Nakazawa’s sadness. HARASHIMA, MIKAMI & Daisuke Sasaki ran in to make the save and kick start their Tag match against the group.

When Nakazawa finally reappeared for Match #5, he came out sporting a hairstyle similar to the Brahman Bros (as seen in the pic above). Tadasuke from Osaka Pro stood inside the ring for the entire match. By the time the match was over he couldn’t stop laughing at all of the comedy spots that took place.

Sanshiro Takagi made a surprise appearance for a bonus match against The Great Kayser to start the show. This was his first match in a full DDT show since his move to Union last year. After Sanshiro won with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb, he announced that DDT will donate some of the box office to charity in aid of the victims of the recent disaster.

At the end of the show, DDT referee Yukinori Matsui was given time to speak about his hometown in the Iwate prefecture, which was destroyed by the earthquake. Thankfully, he found out the day before the show that his family was safe and that everyone in the town was in his thoughts.

Due to the rolling blackouts and increased dangers happening in Tokyo right now, DDT has postponed tomorrow’s “NON-FIX” show that was supposed to take place in Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

At the moment, DDT’s “JUDGEMENT 2011” 14th Anniversary show is still going ahead on 27th March. Korakuen Hall suffered damage during the earthquake, most of it caused to the ceiling along with some electrical problems. SMASH has postponed its 18th March event at building but Big Japan and Ice Ribbon are still planning on having their Korakuen shows on 21st March take place.

Osaka Show Still Taking Place

A donation drive will take place during the show and DDT will also donate a portion of the money they make from the event to the victims of the earthquakes and tsunamis who now badly need aid and assistance.
