6. Next KO-D Tag Challenger Final: Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega Vs Tetsuya Endo & Konosuke Takeshita ended in a Time Limit Draw (30:00).

A 30 minute draw was not an expected result in the main event. Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo stepped up big time against the Golden Lovers in a match where the winners would get a KO-D Tag Team Title shot. Amon Tsurumi said after the match that he was delighted with the rookies for their growth and now had to decide who would get the title shot. Members of the audience called for a 3 Way between the teams and the champions. Kenny Omega agreed. Kota Ibushi just said he would do his best. Endo called himself and Takeshita the “Future Leaders of DDT” and said they will win the belts.

Masa Takanashi became the No. 1 Contender for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title and was quick to use it. He snuck into the ring while HARASHIMA was cutting a post-match promo and pinned him with a School Boy to win the title and end the DDT Triple Crown. HARASHIMA admitted he let his guard down and wants to win back the title.

DDT is aiming to hold a show in Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium for 13th April. It will be a special event for Yukinori Matsui since he will be celebrating his 20th anniversary in wrestling.

5. Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi when Ibushi pinned Takanashi after the PK Heart α (11:33).
6. Next Extreme Title Challenger 4 Way Match – Pin Nakazawa Match: Keisuke Ishii defeated Danshoku Dino, Yasu Urano and DJ Nira (12:10).
6a. Michael Nakazawa eliminated DJ Nira with a Backslide Pin Submission (7:53).
6b. Michael Nakazawa & Keisuke Ishii eliminated Yasu Urano with a Sunset Flip & Bridging Pin Combo (9:00).
6c. Keisuke Ishii defeated Michael Nakazawa with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (12:10).
7. Next KO-D Challenger Final: Shigehiro Irie defeated Akito with the Package Piledriver (18:14).

Shigehiro Irie defeated Akito in today’s main event to earn a KO-D Openweight Title shot with HARASHIMA on 26/1, a rematch of last year’s “RYOGOKU PETER PAN” main event. Akito was in tears after losing but Irie thanked him because they both worked hard. Irie described his defeat to HARASHIMA last year as a great shame he cannot forget. He promised to return to Osaka as champion.

Amon Tsurumi came up with the rules for the 4 Way match to determine the next DDT Extreme Title challenger. Michael Nakazawa was added into the match but was ineligible to win. Instead it was up to Danshoku Dino, Keisuke Ishii, Yasu Urano or DJ Nira to pin or submit him in order to win outright. However, if Nakazawa was able to pin or submit any of the other wrestlers, that wrestler would be eliminated from the match. DJ Nira was the first to go when he submitted to a Backslide Pin (yes you read that right). Urano was next when Nakazawa rolled him over with a Sunset Flip and Ishii joined in with a Bridging Pin at the same time. Danshoku Dino had Nakazawa rocked with the Lip Lock and Danshoku Driver but Ishii cut him off, threw him out of the ring and gave Nakazawa the Double Arm DDT for the win.

Tetsuya Endo was feeling very upset when it was time for his 6-man Tag Team match. He told Sanshiro Takagi that he lost his wallet in the parking lot earlier that day and when he found it, all of his money was gone. Takagi asked how much money did he lose and Endo said he lost 20,000 yen. Toru Owashi interrupted to announce the match was now called the Sanshiro Takagi New Year Cup and a prize would be given to the winners. Konosuke Takeshita won the match with Endo and MIKAMI on his side, so a lottery was held between them. Takeshita won the lottery and was given a cash prize of 20,000 yen. Endo said he will make up for his lost money by beating the Golden Lovers with Takeshita tomorrow. Takeshita said he and Endo “Will show the future of DDT.”

Osaka was the site of a Shit Heart ♥ Foundation reunion as Hikaru Sato, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Michael Nakazawa team up to face the Monster Army with a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title shot on the line. Nakazawa also brought back his lotion to add some slippery shenanigans to the match. It all fell apart for them when each wrestler tried to do the Ultimate Venom Arm on their opponents. The Monster Army all ducked and the Foundation all hit the move on each other. Antonio Honda then finished off Nakazawa with the Diving Fist Drop to win the match. They will face The Homo-sapiens tomorrow for the 6-Man Titles.

Sanshiro Takagi Vs Michael Nakazawa is added to the card after Nakazawa strongly demanded the match to happen. Not only that but Nakazawa also wants it to be a Weapons Rumble match, a match where a different weapon is brought down to the ring every couple of minutes. Nakazawa has been acting odd lately. He has been using a certain Golden Star’s phone to send naked pictures of himself to Takagi, probably to play mind games with him (key word: probably). Nakazawa also said he has prepared a secret weapon that will frighten Takagi when it appears.

*V1 for Crying Wolf.

Shigehiro Irie’s Road Warrior style shoulder armour was accidentaly destroyed during Match #5. HARASHIMA apologised and promised to put it back together with glue but it wasn’t enough to stop Irie from crying as he left the ring after the match. The armour was worth 33,000円.

The 4 Way Match was cancelled when Don Michael complained about feeling too hot to wrestle. Antonio Honda blamed Michael’s condition on global warming. Makoto Oishi said that Honda was spewing out so much carbon dioxide from his mouth it was making things worse. So everyone decided not to wrestle today in order to protect the planet from global warming.

For the first time in four years, DDT and Dragon Gate will get together again for their Dramatic Dream Gate joint show. This will be the third DDG show to take place and the first to happen outside of Tokyo. Notable moments that took place in the previous events include Danshoku Dino and Masaaki Mochizuki swapping bodies before their match, a dream face off between Kota Ibushi and BxB HulkStalker Ichikawa and Gorgeous Matsuno building up a ridiculous rivalry where neither of them could get the upper hand, and CIMA getting way more of Dino and Akira Tozawa than he bargained for.

5. Sanshiro Takagi & Takao Soma defeated Tigers Mask & DJ Nira when Takagi pinned Mask after the Boma Ye from Yukinori Matsui (10:04).
6. Hikaru Sato & HARASHIMA defeated Danshoku Dino & KUDO when Sato submitted Dino with the Heel Hold (19:41).

Hikaru Sato scored a big victory over Danshoku Dino in the build up to their KO-D Openweight Title match next week. Sato’s vast experience in submissions were too much for Dino to handle in the Tag Team main event which also included HARASHIMA and KUDO. Dino had no choice but to tap out to Sato’s Heel Hold, possibly giving the challenger a clear target to focus on when the title match takes place. Meanwhile HARASHIMA is already staking claim to challenge Sato to a KO-D Title match in Osaka if Sato becomes the next champion. Should the road lead to this match becoming a reality, it will be a rematch of Sato’s dramatic KO-D Title win over HARASHIMA that took place in Osaka back in 2010.

I was not a good day for Osaka’s own Tigers Mask. First he lost the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship to MIYAWAKI before he even got a chance to defend it against Antonio Honda. Then he lost his tag team match later in the show when referee Yukinori Matsui had enough of his antics and knocked him out with a Boma Ye knee strike.

An update on the current whereabouts of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship over in Osaka Pro. Miyuji Matsuyama lost the belt to Ebessan on 1st March in a 3 Way match that also involved Miracleman. Ebessan then lost the title to Kanjyuro Matsuyama. I’ll let the Osaka Holiday Paradise site explain what happened:

“After the show, Ebessan suffered what apparently was a stroke near the goods shop. Kanjyuro went over to deliver a heart massage to his fellow Unique Gundan member and managed to become the 888th Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion.”

Earlier today, Tigers Mask pinned Kanyuro in the main event 3 Way match also involving Atsushi Kotoge to become the 889th and latest Iron Man champion. If he is still champion on the 4th March, he will defend the belt against Antonio Honda when DDT shows up in Osaka for “DOTONBORI STORY 11”.

More New Beijing Drama, Dotonbori Story Card

February 23, 2012

NEW BEIJING “NEW YEAR JAPAN TOUR 2012”, 26/02/2012
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Heaven Six Wheel Challenge:

Remember when I mentioned how New Beijing fans were worried that the recent takeover of the promotion would lead to a TKG48 style group being formed? Well, it happened. The mysterious Emperor Liang, former owner of New Beijing has created the Ryozanpaku48 to combat the new owners Bushoroad, headed by Chiang Wei. Eleven members of the Ryozanpaku48 will compete in New Beijing’s tour of Japan. They are Liang Huang, Yasuo Atsushi, Statue Of David, First Emperor, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Xiang Jie, Jie Mai Nakazawa, Humpback Jie, Jet Bar & Witch Choi Lee. A little bit of investigation reveals that Xiahou Dun & Xiahou Yuan are a very skillful tag team with dazzling abilities that are like a “blooming cactus flower” (hint, hint).

The Japan tour next week could not have come at a more hazardous time for New Beijing as the two sides will use Shin-Kiba 1st RING as their battleground for the Heaven Six Wheel Challenge. Chiang Wei has created a Fighting Man Cram School theme for his roster and has more plans for the future. But the appearance of the Ryozanpaku 48 to challenge his control of the company could see Wei’s ownership become short lived.

Still no word on the whereabouts of Princess Makoto. Maybe she was kidnapped after all. Possibly by a scheming, green-liquid spitting devil of some sort.
