5. KO-D Tag Team Title Contendership: Antonio Honda & Yasu Urano Vs Takao Soma & Akito

DDT “OSAKA BAY BLUES SPECIAL 2011”, 06/11/2011
Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium #2

1. Triple Threat: Kushinbo Kamen Vs Kikutaro Vs Gorgeous Matsuno
2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie Vs Winner Of 30/10 Contender Match
3. Special Tag Match: Kenny Omega & HARASHIMA Vs Minoru & Koji Kanemoto
4. KO-D Openweight Title: KUDO (c) Vs Masa Takanashi

Masa Takanashi finds himself in the same main event spot Hikaru Sato was in this time last year. The 2010 “OSAKA BAY BLUES SPECIAL” show had Sato become the KO-D Openweight Champion in dramatic fashion, defeating HARASHIMA and halting his KO-D Title run that began at Sumo Hall. Takanashi can repeat the same achievement when he goes up against the champion KUDO.

Kenny Omega’s first challenger for the AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title has been confirmed to be Minoru, a supernova of the Japanese Jr. Heavyweight scene. Their title match will take place in DDT, which I’ll get to below. But before that match happens, Kenny will be teaming up with HARASHIMA to take on the Junior Stars of Minoru & Koji Kanemoto in Osaka on 6/11.

6. DDT Extreme Title: El Generico (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi

A correction for the match involving the Kasu Rachoresu Mental Health duo of Yoshiaki Yago & Madoka with the oriental couple BENTEN & Miyako. It turns out that Yago will not be facing BENTEN but will in fact have some sort of match against Miyako! BENTEN will be in Miyako’s corner while Yago will have his “Good Nurse” Madoka by his side for the bout.

1. HARASHIMA defeated Ken Ohka with the Somato (10:51).
2. MIKAMI defeated Cherry with an Oh Lefevre (7:14).
3. Masa Takanashi defeated DJ Nira with a Reverse Inside Cradle (10:28).
4. Hardcore 4 Way: Antonio Honda defeated Isami Kodaka, Keisuke Ishii and Michael Nakazawa when Honda pinned Nakazawa with the Diving Daikon Drop (12:44).
5. Handicap Lumberjack Death Match: Sanshiro Takagi defeated Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi when Takagi pinned Oishi with the Sit Down Himawari Bomb (8:16).
6. Shuji Ishikawa defeated Yasu Urano with the Splash Mountain (15:58).
7. KO-D Openweight Title: KUDO (c) defeated Hikaru Sato with the Diving Double Knee Drop (18:53).
*V2 for KUDO.

KUDO survives the submission skills of Hikaru Sato to earn V2 in his KO-D Openweight Title reign. His focus now turns over to the 6th November in Osaka for his next title defence. The challenger was determined in a one night Rock, Scissors, Paper tournament. The results of that can be seen below.

Takao Soma had to be taken off the show due to suffering from acute enteritis. This meant Sanshiro Takagi had to fight Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi on his own in a Handicap Lumberjack Death Match. Sanshiro’s lumberjacks for the match were Yomiko Hotta, Shigehiro Irie, Ken Ohka and DJ Nira. The Homoiro Clover Z lumberjacks were Kazuki Hirata, Hiroshi Fukuda, Akito and an unnamed non-wrestling member of DDT’s staff. Despite the disadvantage in numbers, Takagi was able to overcome the odds and he pinned Oishi to win the match.

Some new moves were shown by a few wrestlers tonight. MIKAMI won with a cross arm submission hold he calls Oh Lefevre while Antonio Honda won the Hardcore 4 Way match with the Diving Daikon Drop, which might just be the Diving Fist Drop with a new name.

KO-D Openweight Title Contendership Tournament – Rock, Scissors, Paper

1. Round 1: Makoto Oishi defeated Takao Soma by Forfeit.
2. Round 1: Masa Takanashi defeated Keisuke Ishii with Paper -> Rock.
3. Round 1: DJ Nira defeated Cherry with Scissors -> Paper.
4. Round 1: Ken Ohka defeated Sanshiro Takagi with Rock -> Scissors.
5. Round 1: Yasu Urano defeated Shuji Ishikawa with Scissors -> Paper.
6. Round 1: Danshoku Dino defeated Antonio Honda with Paper -> Rock.
7. Round 1: Isami Kodaka defeated MIKAMI with Paper -> Rock.
8. Round 1: Kota Ibushi defeated HARASHIMA with Rock -> Scissors.
9. Round 2: Masa Takanashi defeated Makoto Oishi with Paper -> Rock.
10. Round 2: Ken Ohka defeated DJ Nira with Rock -> Scissors.
11. Round 2: Danshoku Dino defeated Yasu Urano with Rock -> Scissors.
12. Round 2: Kota Ibushi defeated Isami Kodaka with Paper -> Rock.
13. Semi Final: Masa Takanashi defeated Ken Ohka with Paper -> Rock.
14. Semi Final: Kota Ibushi defeated Danshoku Dino with Rock -> Scissors.
15. Final: Masa Takanashi defeated Kota Ibushi with Scissors -> Paper.

The most “Shiru” wrestler in DDT earns the No. 1 Contendership and will face KUDO for the KO-D Title next month. This will be the second time Masa Takanashi will get to challenge for the KO-D Title. The first time was against Daisuke Sekimoto back in April 2010.

In what could only be described as a miracle, Kota Ibushi did not re-dislocate his shoulder during the dramatic games of Rock, Paper, Scissors. He also took part dressed as DJ Nira for some reason.

7. DDT Extreme Title Contendership – 3 Way: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Shuji Ishikawa Vs Kengo Ohka

Isami Kodaka has been preparing for his match with Hiro Tsumaki by training with former joshi wrestler Rumi Kazama in Okinawa. Rumi first came to Isami’s rescue during his Sexy Diva match against Sexxxy Eddy and GAMI back in August. It looks like she will be sticking by his side for the time being.

Geisha girl Miyako commented on BENTEN’s upcoming match against Onryo. The “Global Diva Princess” said Onryo and Masako Takanashi are a far cry from the people BENTEN wrestled in Madison Square Garden for a company called WWG, which somehow stands for World Wide Edge.

The 16-Man Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament to determine the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title is still set for this show. All that has been revealed about the tournament so far is the tournament layout. Nothing unusual about it. The winner of Match #1 takes on the winner of Match #2, the winner of Match #3 takes on the winner of Match #4, etc.

Takao’s Tag Trouble, Hirata’s Gonna Fale, President Pervert

October 14, 2011

DDT “FUTURE HEAVEN! IN NAGOYA 2011”, 30/10/2011
Nagoya Club Diamond Hall

1. HERO! Last DDT Match: HARASHIMA & HERO! Vs X & X
2. KO-D Tag Team Title Contendership: Antonio Honda & Yasu Urano Vs Takao Soma & Akito
3. Special Singles Match: Hikaru Sato Vs Danshoku Dino

Takao Soma isn’t very happy that Keisuke Ishii won an important championship in DDT before he did. After Ishii and Shigehiro Irie became the new KO-D Tag Team Champions in Sapporo, Soma told interviewers backstage that “It sucks that Ishii won a belt before me.” He was also upset that Ishii was the person chosen to team with Irie for the title match instead of himself. That is understandable since Soma and Irie had been doing very well as the TKG48’s resident tag team in DDT. Soma will be doing something about it and has picked Akito to form a new tag team in the hopes of getting a title shot in the distant future. However, they will face a difficult challenge in the forms of Antonio Honda & Yasu Urano. Both men are former KO-D Tag Team Champions and have been recently teaming together.

Kenny Omega, Shigehiro Irie, Daisuke Sasaki, Mr. #6, Toru Sugiura & DJ Nira are all confirmed to be taking part at this show.

DDT “PRESIDENT PERVERT! ~ LAST BIG WRESTLING MATCH ON THE STREET”, 04/11/2011
Tokyo Asakusa Flower Mansion

1. 3 Way Tag: Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa Vs Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei Vs Danshoku Dino & Chou-un Shiryu

The President Pervert in the show’s title is none other than Michael Nakazawa. He will be the special guest announcer for the event.

Chou-un Shiryu is looking forward to tangling with Munenori Sawa one last time before Sawa retires. Shiryu believes the only way Sawa could beat him was if he resorted to using Kung Fu for the match. The Brahman Brothers are the wild cards here and will no doubt be carrying a container filled with creepy crawlies for their opponents to suffer through.

6. KO-D Tag Team Title Decision Match: Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi when Ishii pinned Dino with the Kneel Kick (15:20).
*Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie become the 40th KO-D Tag Team Champions!

Generation rivals Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie will now have to stick with each other as they became the new KO-D Tag Team Champions! They defeated Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi of the new Homoiro Clover Z group to win the vacant titles. It was a pretty nasty finish as Ishii dropped Dino right onto his face with an Exploder Suplex before hitting him with the match winning Kneel Kick. The new champions shook each others hands and celebrated, putting behind their differences to become the new tag team to beat in DDT.

Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa tried to do the Golden Shower onto KUDO during their match, but MIKAMI tripped them off of the top rope.

The annual Sapporo fight between Hiroki the ninja and Chiharu the karate guy was booked as a tag team match this year. Hiroki had Sanshiro Takagi as his tag partner while Chiharu sided with Michael Nakazawa. That was not all. The match would also be a 100 Nunchaku & Pots Death Match and Kota Ibushi was there to do the ring announcements. Nunchaku and coat hangers were placed hanging on the ring ropes while small flower pots, ones made of plastic and ones made of clay, were placed on the ring canvas beneath them. Nakazawa suffered a bloody gash over his right shoulder from the finish. However, he was able to take his forfeit for losing the match. The forfeit was Nakazawa had to place a flower pot over his head with a firecracker inside it while Ibushi lit the cracker’s fuse. It turned out to be a harmful experience for both of them.

Forget Ibushi’s shoulder. With the way he plays with fireworks, one of these days he is going to lose some fingers.
