Union held two shows in Tokyo BASEMENT MON☆STAR today dedicated to their Get The Glory tournament. All of Union’s regular talent took part and the prize was a match of the winner’s choice taking place in Korakuen Hall on 29th April. The end result saw some big changes to the promotion’s landscape.

In the afternoon show Goro Jr. surprised everyone with a victory over Seiya Morohashi in the first round and then a hard fought contest against FUMA in the second round. Goro failed to beat the Union MAX Champion but after the match asked for the microphone. He said up until now he was Goro Jr. but from now on he wants to fight as himself. Goro unmasked and was revealed to be Yuuya Kubo, the DDT cameraman who got involved in the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title match at “SAITAMA SUPER DDT 2015”! After the reveal Naomi Susan invited Yumakoto to continue wrestling for Union.

Kazushi Miyamoto appeared at ringside for the second round match between SAGAT and Hiroshi Fukuda. He offered a handshake to Fukuda before the match but it was rejected. When the referee was knocked out during the match Miyamoto attacked Fukuda and told SAGAT to capitalise. Fukuda somehow recovered and pinned SAGAT with a School Boy. Miyamoto revealed after the match that he and SAGAT have been hired to create a new kingdom in Union and the mastermind would be revealed soon.

Elsewhere in the early rounds Hiroshi Fukuda beat Ryu Gouma in the battle between tambourines and statute books, Shuji Ishikawa had no problem giving Cherry the Splash Mountain and Isami Kodaka pulled out the Ocean Cyclone Suplex to beat Mio Shirai.

1. Get The Glory 2015! Semi Final: Isami Kodaka defeated Hiroshi Fukuda with a Manjigatame (10:41).
2. Get The Glory 2015! Semi Final: FUMA defeated Shuji Ishikawa with the Jawbreaker (13:52).
3. Madoka & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Tomoya Kawamura & Kenta Hattori when Madoka pinned Kawamura with the Ranhyei (11:20).
4. Time Difference Battle Royal: Seiya Morohashi defeated Yuuya Kubo with the Crippler Crossface (12:36).
Order Of Elimination: Ryu Gouma, SAGAT, Cherry, Ladybeard & Mio Shirai, Daichi Kazato, Kubo Yumakoto.
5. Get The Glory 2015! Final: FUMA defeated Isami Kodaka with the Diving Headbutt (15:45).

The evening show featured the final rounds of the tournament. Isami Kodaka defeated Hiroshi Fukuda in the first semi final. In the second semi final SAGAT & Kazushi Miyamoto returned to help FUMA beat Shuji Ishikawa! FUMA was revealed to be their mastermind! The trio attacked Ishikawa with a chair and FUMA finished him off with the Jawbreaker kick.

So the final was between Kodaka and the newly turned heel FUMA. The Union MAX Champ had SAGAT & Miyamoto in his corner while Kodaka had Ishikawa & Daichi Kazato by his side. The match descended into chaos when FUMA’s henchmen interfered only for Kodaka’s allies to come to the rescue. When they were all taken out of the picture Kodaka tried to beat FUMA with a German Suplex. FUMA then countered a Leg Lariat into the Jawbreaker and then hit the Diving Headbutt to win the match and the tournament.

FUMA declared himself the undisputed ace of Union for being the champion, winning the tournament and beating Union’s best wrestlers in the process. He declined his prize of choosing what match to have on 29th April. Instead he challenged Kodaka to a match in Osaka on 1st March. FUMA then named another wrestler who is part of his new unit, MEN’S Teioh! FUMA declares he will change the history of Union Pro and his new group is the centre of the company!

Seiya Morohashi got a measure of payback on Yuuya Kubo when he submitted him to win the losers Battle Royal.

3. Madoka (w/ Harumi Tachibana) defeated SAGAT with the Ranhyei (4:01).

6. Isami Kodaka & Daichi Kazato defeated Atsushi Aoki & Shibata when Kodaka submitted Shibata with a Modified Manjigatame (13:39).
7. Union MAX Title: FUMA defeated Hikaru Sato (c) with the Sole Butt To The Face (20:18).
*Hikaru Sato fails in V3. FUMA becomes the 4th Union MAX Champion!

We have a new Union MAX Champion and his name is FUMA! For six months Hikaru Sato has held the title and he had done nothing but look down on the Union roster. FUMA came out in new gear and with new music while a lackadaisical Sato threw the belt into the ring during his entrance. It was a tense match but FUMA overcame the odds to win the championship. FUMA told Sato after the match that even though he hated his behaviour he still respects him for his strong performances. FUMA bowed but Sato left without a response.

Isami Kodaka challenged FUMA to an 8-Man Tag Team match for 10th January. It will be Kodaka, Shuji Ishikawa, Seiya Morohashi & Cherry Vs FUMA, Daichi Kazato, SAGAT & Mio Shirai.

Match #5 was filled with big appeal as Kazushi Miyamoto & Seiya Morohashi muscle posed their way to victory over Shuji Ishikawa & Tomoya Kawamura.

Match #4 had people seeing double as Tigers Mask/Atsushi Maruyama appeared as a Hiroshi Fukuda clone! The real Fukuda introduced his clone as the 3rd Generation Mr. Perfect (Fukuda is 1st Gen, MEN’S Teioh is 2nd Gen). Clone Fukuda had trouble keeping his crown and wig in place while he wrestled but he was on the winning team. The real Fukuda said in 2015 he will create more Mr. Perfect clones!

Nobody was happier to see the return of an Idea Pocket Diva to Union than Madoka. He was able to convince Harumi Tachibana to be in his corner as he wrestled SAGAT. Tachibana was there in a race queen costume to provide support and motivation. It ended up working as Madoka defeated SAGAT and eagerly thanked his diva for supporting him. He later said he will continue the diva revolution in pro wrestling.

Ryu Gouma had a challenge for Mio Shirai that was very different from her match with Shuji Ishikawa from last month. Gouma wore a suit in the ring and wanted to face Shirai in a battle of intelligence instead of physical strength. The challenge involved Gouma asking Shirai questions to test her knowledge. For every answer she got wrong Gouma would get to do a wrestling move. He put Shirai into a Waistlock to begin the challenge. The first question was what does the K in UK stand for? She panicked and said Christmas. She was wrong so Gouma put her in a Camel Clutch. The next question was what do the stars on the American flag represent? Shirai said it represents the number of countries America has defeated. She was wrong again and then claimed she hates getting questions about stuff overseas. The third question was who was the author Rashomon? Shirai answered Soseki Natsume and then Akechi Mitsuhide. She was wrong for both and Gouma got the audience to say the right answer, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa. Gouma applied a Manjigatame but Shirai got fed up with the game and fought out of it. She then put Gouma in the dreaded Figure Four Headscissors and made him submit. After the match Gouma claimed he won 3-1 because Shirai got her three questions wrong. He and Shirai then continued to argue over who won the match.

Both Cherry and Ladybeard wrestled in Santa dresses.

1. Daichi Kazato defeated Tomoya Kawamura with the Anna Cutter (7:46).
2. Idea Pocket Presents: Mio Shirai (w/ Tsubasa Amami) defeated Mitomi Masayuki & Ryu Gouma (w/ Rola Mizusaki) when Shirai pinned Gouma with a Small Package (6:31).
3. Seiya Morohashi & Cherry defeated SAGAT & Kyoko Kimura when Cherry pinned SAGAT with the Spring Night Love (11:53).
4. MEN’S Teioh defeated Hiroshi Fukuda with the Spinning Toe Hold (16:37).
5. Isami Kodaka defeated Menso~re Oyaji with the Zan Isamu Leg (13:44).
6. 1,000 Roses Death Match: Shuji Ishikawa defeated FUMA with the Splash Mountain onto the Rose Board (16:55).

It is recommended you listen to “Kiss From A Rose” by Seal as you read the results.

FUMA’s first ever death match was not as rosy as the name suggested. Shuji Ishikawa defeated the young wrestler in a 1,000 Roses Death Match where everything was covered in roses. Ishikawa thought it was fun while FUMA described the match as “doom and gloom” but he felt he came out as a stronger wrestler.

Naomi Susan announced the official creation of the Union MAX Championship. Susan wanted a name that was simple but represents how Union can go full force at any time. Shuji Ishikawa will face Russia’s Ivan Markov in Shinjuku FACE on 11th December to crown the first champion. Susan watched Isami Kodaka’s recent matches in Russia and was impressed with how much Markov has improved since his last visit to Japan, which is why he was selected to face Ishikawa.

Hiroshi Fukuda and MEN’S Teioh slowly bonded during their match together. Fukuda kept calling Teioh “Terry” and eventually “Terry Boy” as they wrestled. Teioh submitted Fukuda with the Spinning Toe Hold. The two reappeared after the Isami Kodaka Vs Menso~re Oyaji match. Fukuda sarcastically congratulated Kodaka for winning the match and then challenged him to a future KO-D Tag Team Titles match. Kodaka and Yuko Miyamoto already have title defences to prepare for so Naomi Susan called up Amon Tsurumi to sort it out. Fukuda named his new team Texas Tornado Broncos Tokyo.

SAGAT had his mouth stuffed with a banana while he teamed with Kyoko Kimura. Unfortunately, Kimura booted SAGAT in the face by accident, costing them the match against Cherry & Seiya Morohashi.

Ryu Gouma is the latest person to insert himself into the Idea Pocket shenanigans (minds out of the gutter please). He was added to the match as Mitomi Masayuki’s partner to make it a 2-on-1 match against Mio Shirai. Despite that, Shirai continues to grow her harem of Idea Pocket Divas by winning the services of Rola Mizusaki. Afterwards it was announced that the Aipoke World Title was declared vacant and a new champion will be crowned on 11/12.

An Australian martial artist named Richard Burn will make his Union debut on the 11/12 show. Burn has travelled the world in order to master many marial arts including taekwondo, capoeira, kick boxing and Jeet Kune Do. Burn greeted the fans and said he heard Japan has many strong fighters. His debut match will be against Daichi Kazato.

Yokohama Radiant Hall

1. Hiroshi Fukuda Vs MEN’S Teioh
2. Isami Kodaka Vs Menso~re Oyaji
3. 1,000 Roses Death Match: Shuji Ishikawa Vs FUMA

The 1,000 Roses Death Match returns to Union after it was introduced in March 2012. It is a hardcore match where the ropes and every weapon in the arena is covered in roses brought in by the fans. There is also a bonus rule where a rope break only counts if there are no roses on the rope being touched. This time around it will just be a singles match between Shuji Ishikawa and FUMA. This will be a good warm up for Ishikawa before he goes into the Union Championship decision match in December. A win for FUMA could very well convince Naomi Susan to pick him as Shuji’s opponent for that title match.

The legendary MEN’S Teioh will wrestle in Union for the first time this month facing Hiroshi Fukuda. If there is anyone that can put up with Fukuda’s nonsense, it’s Teioh.

4c. KUDO eliminared FUMA by Ring Out (15:57).
Yasu Urano Produce – Sambo Vs Judo Bonus Track: Hiroshi Fukuda (Judo) defeated Daisuke Kiso (Sambo) with an Okurierijime (3:40).

The madness that is Beer Garden Fight 2013 continued with UraShimaKudo Day. The main event saw all four members of the group fight each other in a 4 Way Elimination match. The eliminations all happened in a short space of time with HARASHIMA surprisingly getting knocked out first by FUMA. KUDO pinned Yasu Urano and then a minute later knocked FUMA out of the ring to win.

KUDO was the referee for the Ebisuko Bar Battle Royal where the winner would get free meals at the bar for one year. Danshoku Dino and Konosuke Takeshita accidentally bumped heads during a handshake at the beginning of the show. They ended up swapping bodies (and wrestling gear) for this match as a result. If that wasn’t bad enough, Tanomusaku Toba accidentally knocked out KUDO with the Backblow during the match.

FUMA’s match was a tribute to Okinawa Pro Wrestling. He wrestled as Jinbeizamen, which was his masked gimmick during his stay in Okinawa.

HARASHIMA wrestled an old friend of his in the opener. Eririn Takagi was a part of the same student wrestling club HARASHIMA was in during his college days.

A Sambo Vs Judo challenge was set up between Daisuke Kiso and Hiroshi Fukuda to determine which martial art was better. They competed in five unique challenges that were all chosen because they did not give any advantage or disadvantage to either martial art. They were also activities that had nothing to do with anything. The five events were kanji writing, drawing Buffaloman, selling food and drink to the audience, a song contest and a bodybuilding contest. Daisuke Kiso won all five events. Well, “Daisuke Kiso” won all five to be accurate. Kiso was replaced by someone else in Rounds 2-5. At the very end of the show, Kiso and Fukuda agreed to have a proper competitive match to decide which martial art was better. Fukuda won and even got cheered by the crowd for finally being able to win something today.

DDT “INTO THE FIGHT SERIES 2013 IN ODAWARA”, 10/02/2013
Odawara Sub Arena

1. Odawara Castle Siege Match: Narita Nagachika (Sanshiro Takagi), Princess Kai (Hiroyo Matsumoto) & Hojo Ujimasa (Akito) Vs Ishida Mitsunari (Danshoku Dino), Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Michael Nakazawa) & Date Masamune (DJ Nira)
2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano (c) Vs Shuji Ishikawa & FUMA

The former Hiro Tsumaki has changed his ringname to FUMA after taking suggestions from fans online. After a lot of consideration, Tsumaki whittled down the entries to three choices: FUMA, Aishu Ranba and Marasho. In the end he chose FUMA. The name is inspired by Fuma Kotaro, the 16th century leader of a ninja clan that was based in Odawara, Tsumaki’s hometown. Tsumaki also liked the name because it is written in romaji, so even foreign fans will know his name.

FUMA’s timing of the announcement also worked out to his advantage because he now has a shot at the KO-D Tag Team Titles in his hometown. FUMA will form a Union team with Shuji Ishikawa to take on the champions (and FUMA’s stablemates) HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano. For this match FUMA considers himself as wrestling for Union rather than Ura-Shima-Hiro (or are they now called Ura-Shima-Fuma?).

A mysterious document was sent to Tsurumi Amon that foretold of an upcoming siege in Odawara. Word has spread that Toyotomi Hideyoshi (no, not the Osaka Pro wrestler) has gathered his forces and are marching towards Odawara as we speak. Together with samurai commander Ishida Mitsunari and tactician Date Masamune (no, not the other Osaka Pro wrestler), the trio will spearhead the attack on Odawara Castle. Meanwhile, those in the castle are preparing for battle. Hojo Ujimasa along with Narita Nagachika have rallied their troops and also have the beautiful but deadly Princess Kai on their side. Together, they must protect their castle of chairs from destruction.

I’m now in the mood to watch Sengoku Basara after typing all of that.

Oyama City Cultural Center

1. Sanshiro Takagi & DJ Nira Vs Keisuke Ishii & Takao Soma
2. Yasu Urano Vs Shigehiro Irie

After all that flavour text for the Odawara show, there is not much to say about the show in Oyama one day later. Drift continue their war with DDT. While Keisuke Ishii & Takao Soma have the odd hurdle of Sanshiro Takagi & DJ Nira to climb over, Shigehiro Irie has the far tougher challenge of facing Yasu Urano one on one.
