takanashi-doubleknee

The Korakuen Hall ring was filled with orange tape when Masa Takanashi entered the ring for his KO-D Openweight Title match against Isami Kodaka. The little alcoholic was in a familiar place as the underdog but he’s been able to pull off miracle victories before. He went for a big move when he and Kodaka were both on the apron. Takanashi attempted to do the Takatonic onto the floor but Kodaka escaped and hit a Tope Suicida to the challenger instead. Kodaka had a rough landing and wound up with a bloodied eye. Takanashi hit the Takatonic inside the ring for a nearfall. Late in the match he hit another Takatonic and then the Diving Double Knee Drop in tribute to KUDO for another close call. Kodaka fired back with two Diving Double Knee Drops but Takanashi still had fight left in him. He was able to block the first Isamuashi Zan but Kodaka immediately struck him with a Right Knee Strike. The second Isamuashi Zan found its target and put an end to Takanashi.

irie-vs-harashima

Amon Tsurumi announced HARASHIMA Vs Shigehiro Irie on 28th February to determine Kodaka’s challenger at Sumo Hall on 21st March. Irie said he never beat HARASHIMA before. Getting over that hump and beating Kodaka for the championship will the best birthday gift he can give himself. HARASHIMA said Irie won today’s match but he will not win next month. It will be HARASHIMA winning the title at Sumo Hall. Kodaka said no matter who wins between HARASHIMA and Irie, it will be himself as the last man standing. The winner of the Sumo Hall main event will also get a 2 million yen cash prize from Good Com Asset.

dino-welcomes-akebono

Two other big matches for Sumo Hall were announced. Danshoku Dino Vs Akebono and Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Minoru Suzuki! Dino said he does not know sumo but he will welcome Akebono to DDT! Sakaguchi said both he and Suzuki will be prepared to kill and slaughter each other. Also Saki Akai, Makoto Oishi & Lady Beard reform the Kawaii Connection to face LiLiCo and two mystery partners.

irie-bomber-higuchi

Shigehiro Irie literally ran through his opponents to win the 4 Way Match. He crashed into HARASHIMA to stop him from hitting the Somato then laid out Kazusada Higuchi with the Beast Bomber.

extreme-gouma-urano

In the days leading up to the DDT Extreme Title match Kendo Kashin kept saying he had a consultant to help him choose his partner to face Yasu Urano & Akito. The consultant was BASARA’s wrestling lawyer Ryu Gouma. Antonio Honda entered the ring expecting to be Kashen’s partner. Gouma was ready to announce the partner when Kashin interrupted and said it was him! Gouma took a beating throughout the match but Honda distracted the referee and Kashin nailed Urano with a chair shot. Kashin passed the chair over to Akito and convinced the ref that Akito was the one who used it. With the ref distracted again Kashin grabbed Gouma’s lawbook and hit Urano repeatedly with it. He then dragged Gouma on top of Urano for the pin. Gouma winning the match counts as a successful title defence for Kashin. Honda entered the ring again waiting for Kashin to nominate him as the next challenger. Kashin said he picks Honda… and Yoshihiko!

thebigdog

Happy Motels were pretty happy with a victory over Team Drift. Amon Tsurumi approached them after the match to talk about Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo’s next KO-D Tag Team Title defence. Suddenly Daisuke Sasaki appeared and he said he found a tag team partner. He brought out The Big Dog!!! His mystery partner came to the ring to the Rocky theme song wearing a mascot dog costume. Sasaki said the dog’s name is Adrien. The New Gen Combo accepted their challenge for Sumo Hall. They offered a handshake but Sasaki & Adrien attacked! Adrien hit the champs with the Running Knee Lift and Fire Thunder Driver. He then took off his costume and revealed himself to be Shuji Ishikawa!

sasadango-apology

Super Sasadango Machine gave an apology through his latest PowerPoint presentation. The apology was for the delay of production and publication date for DDT’s next movie. He also revealed the stipulation for the #OhkaEmpire Vs T2Hide Tag match. The Only One Hole In The World Match refers to Amon Tsurumi. The match could be won by pinfall, submission, Ring Out or by inserting a unique one of a kind item into Tsurumi’s… um… hole. Tsurumi had his pants pulled down but no one was able to achieve the goal. The Hirata GO! Glasses came out and everyone danced until all four knocked each other over the top rope to the floor. The match ended in a draw and Tsurumi was left in the ring with his backside exposed.

takagi-kenso-ironman2

The Ironman match began 10 minutes before the doors opened to the public. Both Sanshiro Takagi and KENSO appealed to the absent audience for their support before locking up. The score was already 1-1 when fans began to enter Korakuen Hall. By that point Takagi and KENSO were fighting around ringside. A castle of chairs was constructed 20 minutes into the match. At the 25 minute mark both wrestlers brawled their way into an elevator and took the fight outdoors in front of the fans lining up outside the building. Takagi was winning 4-2 when he and KENSO went into a kiosk and the match was away from view. During this time KENSO somehow scored 9 points in a row to take the lead 11-4! He then got another pin to make it 12-4. They returned to the ring at the 30th minute and Takagi threw KENSO into the castle of chairs. The damage was so much that Takagi pinned him several times to bring the score up 12-11. The two disappeared backstage and both returned on bicycles, Takagi on his Combat Bicycle and KENSO on a Granny Bicycle. The Battle Of The Bicycles ended when they crashed into each other. KENSO stared down a female fan for eating rice balls near him. Takagi said “DDT is good at eating rice balls!” KENSO grabbed the rice balls and threw them away. Takagi got angry and attacked KENSO for what he did. He then promised the woman that she will be reimbursed for the rice balls. The fans in the building then started chanting “Reimburse!” With 45 minutes gone and 25 minutes until the show began properly it was time for the King Of Dark Title match to begin!

takagi-kenso-ironman3

The Ironman match was still going when dark match wrestlers made their entrances. Takagi and KENSO decided to join in, unofficially making the match a 6-Man Tag. Takagi sided with Hiroshi Fukuda & Mizuki Watase but accidentally hit Watase with a Lariat. KENSO gave Watase a Brainbuster and Gota Ihashi Splashed Watase to win the match! Ihashi happily placed the King Of Dark Title belt on Watase’s body while Takagi and KENSO brought out lockers for the final minutes of their match. Takagi pinned KENSO against the turnbuckles with a locker and then Dropkicked the locker into KENSO to tie the score 15-15. One minute was left to go and both men were exhausted. KENSO gave Takagi a Brainbuster but both of them landed on top of the other locker. Both were counted out because they couldn’t stand and the match ended in a draw, 16-16. KENSO demanded a 25 minute long overtime while Takagi said they should start a 61 minute Best 2 out of 3 match right now! Amon Tsurumi called the requests unreasonable. Takagi brought up doing the rematch at Sumo Hall on 21st March. Tsurumi agreed and made the match. It will be a Falls Count Anywhere Weapon Treasure Hunt Tag Team Match. Takagi will team with Jun Kasai and KENSO will team with Michael Nakazawa! Takagi and KENSO accepted the match and gave each other a fist bump just like Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles did at the Tokyo Dome.

miyatake-injury

Suguru Miyatake is taking time off to recover from injuries to his shoulder ligaments. He said he could be gone for as long as 15 months but he would return in one second if he could. He’ll use his recovery time to become stronger and stronger.

dna-newtrainees

Two new students will debut for DNA on 5th March. Daiki Shimomura was born in Yamaguchi on 27th February 1996, is 157cm high and weighs 72kg. Tsunehiro Shimatani was born in Saitama on 9th January 1998, is 163cm high and weighs 70kg. They both come from the nkw university wrestling club.

3. Daisuke Sasaki defeated Kouki Iwasaki with the Crossface Lock (9:30).

6. 3 Way Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano and Yukio Sakaguchi & Kota Umeda when Ishii pinned Umeda with the Vertical Drop Double Arm DDT (12:22).
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo (c) defeated Isami Kodaka & Ryota Nakatsu when Endo pinned Nakatsu with the Sky Twister Press (23:41).
*V1 for New Generation Combination.

The New Generation Combination got a bit of revenge on Isami Kodaka. Neither of them were able to win the KO-D Openweight Title from him but he wasn’t able to take the KO-D Tag Team Titles from them either. Tetsuya Endo put Ryota Nakatsu away with the Torture Rack Bomb and Sky Twister Press. Kodaka requested a rematch down the line. Takeshita said he would like another single and tag match so he can win both and get a 3-2 record against Kodaka. While this was going on Masa Takanashi suddenly snuck into the ring. Takanashi went for the Takatonic on Kodaka but the champion avoided it and kicked Takanashi in the face.

Daisuke Sasaki approached Amon Tsurumi at the end of the show demanding a KO-D Tag Team Titles shot in March. Tsurumi agreed that Sasaki deserves a shot because his previous title reign had to be vacated. However both Kota Ibushi and Suguru Miyatake are injured so who can Sasaki team with? Tsurumi told Sasaki he’s been emotionally unstable ever since Candice LeRae “dumped” him. Sasaki suddenlt broke down into tears. Tsurumi tried to cheer him up but also mentioned LeRae getting engaged to someone else. In an instant Sasaki attacked Tsurumi with his belt and left the ring. Tsurumi asked the New Gen Combo to help him but they said he was okay.

Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie are riding a wave of momentum going into their All Asia Tag Team Title match next week. They distinctly remember the last time they fought Yankee Two Kenju back in December 2013. Ishii remembers being pinned after 13 minutes and 26 seconds. He’s been constantly reminding Irie of that match to motivate the both of them.

According to Masa Takanashi his victory over Yusuke Kubo proves he can win a fair fight. He shook Kubo’s hand after the match but it was all a ruse for his failed ambush later in the show.

Seiya Morohashi stole Kazuki Hirata’s GO! Glasses before Match #4. Hirata went to the Samurai TV! commentary table looking for a replacement pair and took Haruo Murata’s glasses instead. When he put them on he got the song “Yokohama Twilight” playing over the speakers instead of “TOKYO Go!” Rikiya Shindo then handed his glasses to Hirata and the song changed to “Manato No Yoko, Yokohama, Yokosuka”.

When Hirata won the match he grabbed a microphone and was ready to challenge #OhkaEmpire to a rematch for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. However Sanshiro Takagi kicked him aside and instead added a stipulation to his match with KENSO on 31st January. It will be a 60 minute Iron Man Match! Amon Tsurumi came out and told Takagi that the show is too full to have a 60 minute match. They made a deal. The Iron Man match can go ahead but it has to be a pre-show dark match. Korakuen Hall is scheduled to open up exactly one hour before the show starts so the match will begin 10 minutes before the doors open to allow a brief warm up break before the show properly starts. There is a chance the final 10 minutes of the match will clash with the King Of Dark Title bout. Both will happen at the same time if necessary.

Match #2 ended when Guanchulo took off his wrestling gear and revealed he was wearing Danshoku tights. The referee had to call the match off when Guanchulo and Danshoku Dino did Danshoku things to the other wrestlers. Guanchulo said he is now Gaychulo.

2. 4 Way Match: Hiroshi Fukuda defeated Toru Owashi, Kazusada Higuchi and Tomomitsu Matsunaga when Fukuda pinned Matsunaga with a Cradle Cutback (8:36).
3. Yasu Urano defeated Kuishinbou Kamen by Submission with the Tombstone Piledriver (10:25).
4. Danshoku Dino & Mizuki Watase Vs Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie ended in a No Contest (9:30).
5. Daisuke Sasaki & Candice LeRae defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Kazuki Hirata when LeRae pinned Hirata with the Ball Plex (10:50)
6. Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo defeated Isami Kodaka, Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT when Takeshita pinned SAGAT with the German Suplex (13:46).
7. Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi defeated HARASHIMA & Akito when Takanashi pinned Akito with the Takatonic (14:26).

Momentum is building for Masa Takanashi. He’s been on a small winning streak ever since he pinned HARASHIMA and became the No. 1 Contender. He urged the Osaka crowd to come see him fight for the KO-D Openweight Title on 31st March.

The build up to next week’s KO-D Tag Team Title match saw Happy Motels beat BASARA. The champions said when it comes to them, 1 + 1 doesn’t equal two. It equals 10 or maybe even 100! Isami Kodaka told them 1 + 1 does equal 2 and wrestling is not math! He and Ryota Nakatsu will teach them a lesson next week. When the BASARA team left Konosuke Takeshita spoke to the audience and called today his coming of age celebration.

Candice LeRae’s DDT adventure continued with her dancing with Kazuki Hirata before she gave him the Ball Plex. Daisuke Sasaki again proposed to Candice after the match. Candice told Sasaki she’s not interested in him and she already has a boyfriend. Sasaki didn’t take the rejection well and tried to attack but he was given the Ball Plex. Candice then asked Sanshiro Takagi if she and Joey Ryan can wrestle on the 21st March Sumo Hall show. Takagi said “OK!”

Danshoku Dino was in an extra horny mood and everything Mizuki Watase did made Dino very excited. The match had to be stopped when Dino stripped Watase and tried to have his way with him. Watase was traumatised by what happened and wants to stay away from Dino for good.

Suguru Miyatake dislocated his right shoulder on yesterday’s show and was unable to compete today. Kuishinbo Kamen took his place in Match #3.

Hiroshi Fukuda won the 4 Way Match while singing a song from Princess Mononoke. Fukuda thinks he is now ready to face Daisuke Sekimoto at BASARA’s debut show in 2st February. He is ready to bring American Strong Style to fight Sekimoto’s Japanese Strong Style!

1. Ryota Nakatsu defeated Guanchulo with an Arm Lock (6:31).
2. Scramble Bunkhouse Glasses Death Match: Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi & Shoichi Uchida defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata when Dino pinned Hirata with the Danshoku Driver (11:52).
3. Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Mizuki Watase when Iwasaki pinned Watase with the Leg Capture Suplex (12:54).
4. Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo defeated Daisuke Sasaki, Suguru Miyatake & Candice LeRae when Endo pinned Miyatake with the Sky Twister Press (13:34).
5. Akito & Yasu Urano defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Tomomitsu Matsunaga when Urano pinned Matsunaga with a Cradle (14:01).
6. HARASHIMA defeated Hiroshi Fukuda with the Cradle (9:10).
7. Isami Kodaka & Masa Takanashi defeated Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao when Kodaka pinned Takao with the Gin And Tonic Cutback (14:31).

Isami Kodaka & Masa Takanashi worked well as a team in the main event. Takanashi saved Kodaka from Soma Takao’s Gin And Tonic, then later pulled the referee out of the ring when Kodaka was being pinned. Kodaka countered the Gin And Tonic again and rolled Takao over for the three count. Takanashi handed Kodaka a beer after the match and held a toast for their KO-D Openweight Title match. They drank but Takanashi suddenly kicked Kodaka and gave him the Takatonic! He yelled at Kodaka that he was going to win the title and ended the show drinking with Yukio Sakaguchi.

Yasu Urano learned that his DDT Extreme Title match with Kendo Kashin will allow a single wrestler to be in each man’s corner and they can swap places when they touch their partner. The way it is described sounds a lot like a tag team match but Kendo thinks otherwise. At the moment it looks like Akito will be Urano’s partner for the match.

It seems that almost everybody in DDT is falling for Candice LeRae. All members of Happy Motel wanted a kiss from her but she rejected them. In the post-match interview Candice said she was in front of a great audience and Japanese fans are the best. Guanchulo translated her comments but Daisuke Sasaki was convinced he was lying. Why? Because Sasaki thought Candice was clearly saying “Sasaki, I love you!” He’ll team with her on their own next and will find a ring for their wedding.

DDT will run Kyoto KBS Hall on 14th May and Kobe Sambo Hall on 31st July. It will be DDT’s first show in Sambo Hall in over 7 years. They were last there in November 2008. The last KBS Hall show was in May 2011 and is remembered as the Zundoko Bus Incident. The tour bus broke down on the Tomei Expressway early in the morning and they had to spend 189,000 yen on other transport to reach the arena. Then when the show was over and it was time to go back to Tokyo the same bus broke down again and the entire trip lasted 26 hours!

Everybody in Match #2 agreed to compete in a Scramble Bunkhouse Glasses Death Match.

*V2 for Isami Kodaka.

isami-rasengan

Isami Kodaka has scored back to back KO-D Openweight Title defences against the two KO-D Tag Team Champions. Konosuke Takeshita came close to winning but his German Suplex was countered into a match ending Rasengan roll through pin. Kodaka threw out a challenge for a Tag Title match with Ryota Nakatsu as his partner. Amon Tsurumi decided the match will take place in Yokohama on 16th January. Tsurumi then announced the next KO-D Title matches will take place on 31st January in Korakuen Hall and 21st March in Sumo Hall. The Sumo Hall challenger will be decided with a tournament ending on 28th February. Masa Takanashi was chosen as the No. 1 Contender for the 31/1 show. Takanashi was hesitant with the decision but Yukio Sakaguchi encouraged him to accept it. Takanashi admitted he might be going into a losing battle and could suffer an embarrasing defeat. But if he can win the title he will do it for Shuten-dōji!

takanashi-celebrates

There was a loud Takanashi chant when he pinned HARASHIMA with the Takatonic in the semi-main event.

kenzo-locks-takagi

The KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles were put on the line in a Scramble Bunkhouse Locker Coffin Anywhere Death Match. The match could only be won if a wrestler was trapped for three seconds inside the locker provided. Kazuki Hirata was thrown in but he burst out of it wearing his HIRATA GO! glasses with the music provided. KENSO finally got his hands on Sanshiro Takagi and was able to lock him inside the locker to win the titles for #OhkaEmpire. Afterwards KENSO again demanded a singles match with Takagi. It was finally accepted and will take place in Korakuen Hall on 31st January.

sasaki-proposes-candice

Candice LeRae gained some new admirers after her debut match for DDT. As part of the World’s Cutest Tag Team with Joey Ryan they were successful against two-thirds of the Golden☆Storm Riders. Ryan got to show off the strength of his penis again while LeRae won the match with the Ball Plex. No one was more won over with her than Daisuke Sasaki. He spoke to Candice in English after the match, telling her “You are so really cute.” He then proposed to her. Candice reacted negatively so Sasaki reiterated that he meant they should team together in Osaka next week. Candice was happy with that idea and accepted the offer.

akai-lilico

Saki Akai & Cherry spent just as much time wrestling each other for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title than against their opponents during Match #3. Makoto Oishi capitalised by pressing down on Cherry when she tried to pin Akai with a Small Package. Oishi won the match but the pin counted against Cherry so there was no title change. Akai spoke on the microphone about her title defences but she was suddenly ambushed by LiLiCo with a steel chain! LiLiCo choked out Akai with the chain and pinned her to become the new champion!

shuji-kakizome

Every wrestler entering the Kakizome Rumble had a different special rule painted on their back by a calligrapher named Nachu. As part of a demonstration before the match she painted “Happy New Year” on Guanchulo’s chest. If a wrestler broke the rule painted on their back they were eliminated from the match. Since the wrestlers could not see their own paintings they had to figure it out based on how their opponents acted towards them. Kazusada Higuchi was eliminated for doing a Sumo Stomp, Tomomitsu Matsunaga was eliminated for doing his version of the RVD pose, Seiya Morohashi was eliminated for doing the “Strange Uncle” dance (the audience cheered him into doing an encore afterwards), Kouki Iwasaki was eliminated by a one count pin (and didn’t have his back painted for some reason), Gorgeous Matsuno was eliminated for climbing the top rope, Soma Takao was eliminated for speaking English (he complained to the ref after a nearfall by saying “Three” over and over), Yuko Miyamoto was eliminated for using a steel chair (the chair was planted behind him when he did a Suplex) and Antonio Honda was eliminated for giving a handshake (he kept doing Ric Flair style fake outs until he gave a proper handshake). The match was down to Hiroshi Fukuda (who was not allowed to say the words “You’re more beautiful than roses” yet sang parts of songs that contained those lyrics) and Shuji Ishikawa (who could not run the ropes). Ishikawa refused to do anything because he couldn’t figure out what rule he could not break. Fukuda charged Ishikawa but got hit with a Kneelift. When Ishikawa realised he wasn’t breaking any rules he gave Fukuda the Fire Thunder and pinned him to win the match.

Jun Kasai and Michael Nakazawa are confirmed to appear at DDT’s 19th Anniversary show in Sumo Hall on 21st March. Nakazawa is being brought in to do his infamous anal explosion opening ceremony. The Sumo Hall show will feature involvement from the entire DDT family of promotions and a special Dramatic Award ceremony is being planned to recognise DDT’s best over the last year.

The card for BASARA’s debut show on 21st January was revealed. The main event is Isami Kodaka & Takumi Tsukamoto Vs FUMA & Daichi Kazato. Also on the show is Hiroshi Fukuda Vs Daisuke Sekimoto and Ryota Nakatsu Vs Ikuto Hidaka.

Keisuke Ishii is producing a show on 23rd January in Tokorozawa, Saitama. The main event will be Ishii & Shigehiro Irie Vs Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto for the All Asia Tag Team Titles. Ishii feels that his momentum was taken from him when he & Irie lost the belts back in 2014.

Hyper Misao & Saki Akamiya made an appearance to promote Tokyo Joshi Pro’s Korakuen debut on 4th January. Poison Sawada JULIE interrupted their message and used his snake magic to move them out of the ring.

DDT will return to Izuguranparu Park for an outdoor Elimination match on 3rd April.

The Bed Inn Girls will return for the YaroZ show at Shinkiba on 1st March.

1. Glove Tag Match: Antonio Honda & Kota Umeda defeated Tanomusaku Toba & Kazusada Higuchi when Honda submitted Toba with a Manjigatame (2R 3:11).
2. Emi Sakura & “Kotori” defeated Masako Takanashi & Riho when “Kotori” pinned Takanashi with the Morning Star (11:55).
3. Drunk Round 6-Man Tag Team Match: Akito, Hiroshi Fukuda & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Masa Takanashi, Gota Ihashi & Kouki Iwasaki when Nakatsu pinned Ihashi after Ihashi missed the Moonsault (15:32).
4. KUDO & Isami Kodaka Vs Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Sato went to a Time Limit Draw (30:00).

The problems between KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi put a damper on Shuten-dōji’s Beer Garden show. The two were not comfortable being near each other until the main event when they got to square off. Isami Kodaka and Hikaru Sato were also involved as the match went for the full 30 minutes without a winner. KUDO and Sakaguchi fought tooth and nail with each other as the final seconds counted down. Masa Takanashi and a few other wrestlers tried to cool things down by declaring a toast for today’s show. KUDO and Sakaguchi went along with it but the bad blood between the two is rising higher and higher.

The participants in the semi-main event all had to drink a glass of alcohol every time music was played. The song usually came on right when a wrestler was about to do a big move. A bunch of baseball bats were brought in first to be used as weapons but then everyone used them for a drunk game of dizzy bat. Everyone fell over except for Gota Ihashi. He thought it was the perfect oppotunity to do a Moonsault from the top rope but he missed his target. Ryota Nakatsu then swung his bat at Takanashi but he hit the rope and the bat deflected into his face. Nakatsu fell on top of Ihashi for the winning pinfall.

Masako Takanashi invited Emi Sakura, Riho and “Kotori” over to promote Gatoh Move’s big show at Korakuen Hall on 13th August.

Saki Akai was the ring girl for the opening match. Both teams had to wear boxing gloves and victory could only be achieved by knockout or submission.

7. KUDO & Kengo Mashimo defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Isami Kodaka when KUDO pinned Kodaka with the Diving Double Knee Drop (16:13).

KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi kept their distance in the ring during the opening speeches. Masa Takanashi kept apologising for the sudden change of teams in the main event. For the match itself Takanashi refused to take sides and stood watching at the neutral corner outside the ring. During the closing show speech Sakaguchi briefly thanked the fans for attending and left when it was KUDO’s turn to speak. KUDO said he does not know what will happen to his relationship with Sakaguchi but Shuten-dōji will still exist and their planned Beer Garden show next month is still happening.

Everybody in the 5 Way match had to drink shots of tequila whenever drinking music played over the speakers. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that everyone got drunk. Konosuke Takeshita was stopped from drinking because he was mistaken for a minor. When he pointed out he is 20 years old (the legal drinking age in Japan) everybody congratulated him. All five wrestlers rolled each other around in failed pinning attempts until they all collapsed from dizziness. Everyone was too drunk to get back on their feet and they were all counted out.

Takanashi was blinded with black ink in Match #5. Gorgeous Matsuno tried to capitalise with the Swanton Bomb but missed his target. Takanashi recovered his eyesight and pinned Matsuno afterwards.

Everyone in Match #4 wound up wrestling bare-assed by the end of their bout.

1. DDT Extreme Title – New York Rules: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Danshoku Dino

Much like the KO-D Openweight Division, there has not been a strong contender for the DDT Extreme Title lately. Danshoku Dino stepped up and challenged HARASHIMA for a title shot in his home prefecture of Hiroshima. Dino wants the match to be under New York Rules, an idea he got when he wrestled MEN’S Teioh back in 2007. Under New York Rules you must kiss your opponent while pinning him to win. HARASHIMA accepted the rules and said he will go through special training for the match. He will go into the woods to search for a hibernating bear to kiss. He will then build a snowman and use that for more intense kissing training. When he watched Dino wrestle MEN’S Teioh all those years ago, he felt a chill down his spine. But he knows he cannot back down now and will train hard to beat Dino.

package-for-amon

During the announcement of the match, a courier approached Amon Tsurumi claiming to have a package he needed to sign for. But just when Tsurumi was about to sign it, HARASHIMA noticed something was wrong and took the piece of paper from him. The paper turned out to be a contract for the HARASHIMA Vs Masa Takanashi KO-D Openweight Title match on 23rd February. According to the contract, the match would be fought under handicap rules with HARASHIMA needing to pin Takanashi for five seconds to win while Takanashi would only need to pin HARASHIMA for one second. Tsurumi caught the courier and she was revealed to be Sayaka Obihiro!

Takanashi entered the room to rescue his friend while Tsurumi yelled at him for trying to trick him into signing another contract. But Takanashi had a backup plan, he had the key for DDT’s ring truck! Tsurumi began to panic and asked if Takanashi was going to sell off the truck, the ring, the sound system or even the chairs. Takanashi said he was found something more important than any of those things, the championship belts! He was going to steal the belts and become champion without having to fight anybody. Takanashi began taunting Tsurumi until HARASHIMA simply grabbed the keys and gave them back to Daisuke Kiso, who explained they were stolen from him while he was stuck in Yokohama yesterday. Their plan foiled, Takanashi and Obihiro needed a distraction so Obihiro bit her tongue and Takanashi yelled for an ambulance as they fled.

7a. Feet Only Death Match: HARASHIMA defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Somato (5:01).
7b. Cliff Death Match: Keisuke Ishii defeated HARASHIMA with a Frankensteiner from the apron to the floor (7:27)
7c. 5 Count Match: HARASHIMA defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Somato (13:48).
*V4 for HARASHIMA.

HARASHIMA overcame some odd handicaps to defeat Keisuke Ishii in today’s main event. With the DDT Extreme Title on the line, the match was 2 out of 3 Falls with each fall having a different stipulation. Fall 1 had both wrestlers compete with their hands taped to the side of their bodies. Fortunately for both men, their respective finishers did not need use of their arms. But it was HARASHIMA who dodged the Kneel Kick and flattened Ishii with the Somato to win the first round. Fall 2 was a Cliff Death Match as chosen by Ishii, who is a big fan of spots where you throw a wrestler from the apron to the floor. This round went quick because they immediately went to the apron to achieve their goal. Ishii won through with a Frankensteiner, sending HARASHIMA crashing onto the floor outside. Amon Tsurumi announced the final fall would be won when somebody is pinned for five seconds. Ishii came close to victory with a Tiger Suplex and Kneel Kick both getting four count nearfalls. The Somato once again proved to be the difference maker and HARASHIMA kept his championship.

Masa Takanashi had two reasons he needed to beat Yasu Urano. The first was to get back his Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title and the second was a win over Urano would make him No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. Amon Tsurumi originally refused to give Takanashi a shot at HARASHIMA and made himself the referee to insure it would not happen. Tsurumi constantly got in the way to ruin Takanashi’s momentum and Urano eventually won the match. After the match Amon asked if Takanashi wanted to give up chasing after the title and he sadly said yes.

However, Takanashi showed up at the end of the show challenging HARASHIMA to a KO-D Title match. He even had a contract signed by Tsurumi granting him the match. Tsurumi said it was fake until Takanashi showed him a video he recorded a few days ago. In the video Tsurumi was seen drinking lots of beer with Emi Sakura and Sayaka Obihiro from Gatoh Move. Sakura handed a sheet of paper to a drunk Tsurumi and asked him to sign it, which he did. That piece of paper turned out to be a contract that allowed Masa Takanashi to face HARASHIMA in a KO-D Title match at Korakuen Hall on 23rd February! Back in the arena, Tsurumi apologised to HARASHIMA for what happened but the champion welcomes the challenge.

The Golden Lovers can now without a doubt call themselves the KO-D Tag Team Champions after beating the previous title holders. Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto took their defeat gracefully and shook hands with Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega while appealing for one more match. They also said they have now graduated from DDT during a backstage interview. Ibushi & Omega now have to prepare for a very different team, the Brahman Brothers! They were shown a video of the Brahmans challenging them to a match but the way they spoke was difficult to understand. Kenny asked what were they talking about? Ibushi simply said “Insects.” The Golden Lovers Vs Brahman Brothers will take place on 23/2.

KUDO Vs Yukio Sakaguchi was booked for 23/2 after they had to be pulled apart at the end of Match #3.

2. 4 Vs 4 Vs 1 Irregular 3 Way Match: Sanshiro Takagi, Kazuki Hirata, MIKAMI & Shuji Ishikawa defeated Makoto Oishi, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, DJ Nira & Kazuhiro Tamura and Michael Nakazawa by Referee Stoppage when Ishikawa used the Giant Venom Arm on Nakazawa (8:43).
3. HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano & Emi Sakura defeated Guanchulo, Ivan Markov & Bonnie when Urano pinned Guanchulo with the Tombstone Piledriver (13:15).
4. Antonio Honda, Daisuke Sasaki & Hoshitango defeated Kyonin Shihan, Rubber Man & Kappa Boy (w/ Miyako Haru) when Honda pinned Boy with the Diving Fist Drop (8:03).
5. Danshoku Dino & Akito defeated Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi when Akito submitted Ihashi with the Ankle Hold (11:27).
6. KUDO defeated Masa Takanashi with the Diving Double Knee Drop (18:40).

The spotlight today was on Masa Takanashi for his 10th Anniversary Show in Edogawa. The main event was Takanashi and KUDO squaring off with KUDO earning the win at the end. Takanashi apologised for his bad form during his end of show speech and he thanked KUDO for assuming the unpleasant role of being his opponent. Takanashi also brought his parents into the ring and they gave him a cake to celebrate his 10 years. Takanashi said he lives in a world of his own, he intends to live there forever and he thanked everyone for letting him exist in this ring.

Emi Sakura was upset with HARASHIMA for no longer being a Triple Crown champion like herself. They still posed with their titles in the ring together after the match. Ivan Markov meanwhile turned on Guanchulo for losing the match by giving him the Neck Hanging Bomb.

By request of everyone involved in the match, the Battle Royal turned into a 3 Way Team match with all of the wrestlers teaming with whoever they want. Sanshiro Takagi, Kazuki Hirata, MIKAMI & Shuji Ishikawa were on one team. Makoto Oishi, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, DJ Nira & Kazuhiro Tamura were on another team. Nobody wanted to team with Michael Nakazawa so he had to wrestle on his own. Nakazawa actually did pretty well given the circumstances. He gave everyone the Ultimate Venom Arm two by two until it was down to himself and Shuji Ishikawa, who was wearing a towel and holding the pair of shorts he was originally wrestling in. They had a showdown and Ishikawa got Nakazawa with the Giant Venom Arm first, causing the referee to step in and award the win to Shuji’s team.
