The “Anywhere Pro Wrestling” charity tour will move onto its second show in Hidaka on 2nd August. A 5 Way match will be set in a factory where “Luggage Materials” are made. Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Sanshiro Takagi Vs Member Of The Superstars (Susan Guard & Shit Heart ♥ Foundation)
2. Takao Soma Vs Hikaru Sato

Hikaru Sato demanded to face Takao Soma in a singles match, their first since Soma defeated Sato in a Hair Vs Hair match back in February. Now that Soma has been kicked out of Shit Heart ♥ Foundation, will he go into the match with a new attitude and hope to make peace with Sato? If so, will Hikaru Sato be able to resist the urge to tear off the arm of the man who humiliated him?

Speaking of the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation, the group now consists of Tomomitsu Matsunaga and the Super Shit Machine. After kicking out Takao Soma, they have struck up an alliance with the Susan Guard of Yoshiaki Yago, Kengo Mashimo & Madoka to form a new group called The Superstars. They will make their first appearance together at Shin-Kiba 1st RING when one of them will take on Sanshiro Takagi.

1. Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa defeated Kota Ibushi & Michael Nakazawa when Sawa submitted Nakazawa with an Octopus Hold on top of a forklift (33:31).
2. 4-On-1 Handicap: Kota Ibushi, Michael Nakazawa, Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa defeated The Factory God when Ibushi pinned God with a German Suplex into a container of lime powder (1:40).

One of the more unlikely places to find a wrestling show taking place in Japan today was the Miyaji Ironworks factory. DDT returned to the factory once again to hold another one of its infamous “Street Wrestling” events, this time to raise money for charity. Despite the forecast for a rainy afternoon possibly cancelling DDT’s plans, the area stayed dry and the show went on as planned. Ken Ohka was there as the announcer and gave out safety information to the fans in attendence. The match set for today was Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa Vs Kota Ibushi & Michael Nakazawa. All four wrestlers began the match wearing safety helmets and Takagi had his belly wrapped in plastic foil. He said it was for dieting reasons. The crowd circled around the four as the match began. Takagi paired off with Nakazawa while Ibushi and Sawa started to fight to another part of the factory. Sawa tried to attack Ibushi with some giant pincers but Ibushi fended him off with a large bucket of lime powder. The four would soon be covered in lime powder and they then moved onto the steel yard section. Ibushi placed Sawa onto a section of steel pipes and then climbed up a nearby crane. Sawa recovered and chased after Kota. Soon they were high up on the crane but before they could continue their fight, they noticed that someone was working up there. It was YOSHIHIKO! Angry that Ibushi and Sawa were interrupting his job, YOSHIHIKO attacked both of them. That wasn’t all, as he then dived off of the crane onto Takagi and Nakazawa below! YOSHIHIKO took no further part in the match and instead took his lunch break at the vending machines.

Takagi and Nakazawa were later seen fighting on top of the vending machines, where Takagi had his opponent in a Figure 4 Leg Lock. Ibushi and Sawa both reappeared sticking their heads out of the window above their partners. They both held kettles filled with boiling water out of the window and poured them onto Takagi and Nakazawa. Ibushi found a large wooden pallet and placed it down when Nakazawa approached him and complained about the boiling water. Ibushi responded by Suplexing Michael onto the pallet. Takagi & Sawa looked to take advantage with Takagi aiming to throw Sawa onto Michael with a Spicolli Driver. However, Michael moved out of the way and Sawa crashed onto the pallet. Takagi held back his opponents and even the referee with a high-pressure water cannon. The match moved onto the road outside the factory where Sawa & Takagi double teamed Ibushi. Some miscommunication involving a Shining Wizard hitting the wrong guy and a Cross Bomber attempt going wrong allowed Ibushi & Nakazawa to turn the tables yet they could not put Takagi away. Ibushi did two Moonsaults off of a truck. That soon came back to haunt him as Takagi crawled into a van and drove it into Ibushi! He went for a pin but only got himself a two count. The fighting travelled back into factory property where Ibushi dove off of a stack of pallets. Sawa switched on a forklift and used it to pin Ibushi and Takagi into a fence. Nakazawa attacked Sawa on the forklift’s pallet. He went for the No Michael, No Cry but it was countered into the Octopus Hold as the pallet was suddenly being lifted into the air. Nakazawa couldn’t break out and had to submit, giving Sawa & Takagi the victory!

However, that wasn’t the end. The song “Be My Baby” by Complex was suddenly playing in the background and a weird looking man covered in dust and paint appeared from the crane and danced down towards the crowd. He is the Factory God and he was angry that these four wrestlers made a mess of his factory! He challenged all of them to a match and it begun right there and then. He knocked down all four of his enemies and then charged towards Ibushi with a Flying Headbutt. Kota expertly dodged the attack and struck the Factory God with a High Kick. He then gave the God a German Suplex into a container of lime deposits to create an explosion of powder blocking everyone’s sight. As the smoke cleared, Ibushi was seen being triumphant in defeating the Factory God by pinning him for the three count. The show ended with Michael Nakazawa standing on top of the forklift getting the fans to yell out in unison “3…2…1…Miyaji Iron Works Co., Ltd.!”

4 Way Match: Kota Ibushi defeated Dick Togo, Michael Nakazawa and Sanshiro Takagi when Ibushi pinned Nakazawa with a German Suplex (24:43).

DDT held another of its “Anywhere Pro Wrestling” events, this time returning to the Tōjinmachi Shopping Arcade in Fukuoka City. The match was a free for all between Sanshiro Takagi, Kota Ibushi, Dick Togo and Michael Nakazawa. Fans were allowed to spend up to 3000 yen on products that could be given to wrestlers to use during the brawl. Sanshiro bought himself an AKB48 calendar at a 100 yen shop (so that is where the TKG48 name came from). Nakazawa got himself a toy baseball bat to choke people with. Takagi & Ibushi fought each other inside a coffee shop and apologised to the customers when they left. Ibushi and Nakazawa then traded punches on top of a few vending machines. Ibushi knocked his opponent to the ground and then Moonsaulted off of the machines and onto his target. Batten Tamagawa made an appearance with a boombox. He switched on “Pomp And Circumstance” and was about to perform a dance when Takagi hit him over the head with a back scratcher. A smallarea of the mall was covered in cardboard and that was where Ibushi won the match with a German Suplex to Nakazawa. Takagi then welcomed Dick Togo to the mall as it was his first time visiting the place. After the match all of the wrestlers signed the weapons bought by the fans.

Yamanashi Natureland Om

1. 4 Way Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & YOSHIHIKO defeated Dick Togo & Kota Ibushi, Michael Nakazawa & Mammoth Handa and Sanshiro Takagi & Muscle Sakai when YOSHIHIKO pinned Ibushi with the YOSHIHIKO Destroyer (59:08).

When the two buses arrived at the Yamanashi Natureland this morning, the visitors entering the site were not there for a camping trip. Instead, they travelled to see the third and final DDT “Camping-Ground Pro-Wrestling” show. In recent times, Yamanashi played home to one of DDT’s most famous shows that were filled with epic matches that spanned the entire parkland. Rocks were thrown, fireworks were let loose and people did Moonsaults into ponds. Every time a show took place here, more and more wrestlers have been added to the headline (and usually only) match. This time the fans were treated to a 4 Way Tag match with some unusual pairings. Kota Ibushi returned from injury and teamed with Dick Togo, Keisuke Ishii brought YOSHIHIKO along, Michael Nakazawa found Mammoth Handa from the depths of mediocrity and Sanshiro Takagi sided with Muscle Sakai as Sakai’s career goes through its final days. The head official for the match was Yukinori Matsui and he was joined by Tomomitsu Matsunaga as the back-up ref for when the action splits apart. Before the match could begin, the special guest announcers used an ocarina to call in a fairy to introduce the teams. Sanshiro brought out his trusty guitar, Ibushi made his entrance setting off fireworks, YOSHIHIKO came out sporting a shirt and shorts instead of impersonating another wrestler and nobody gave a damn about Handa. So far, so normal. Then the match began.

It started off pretty basic with the eight participants staying in the one place, tagging in and out when needed. But when Ibushi dominated Nakazawa with his arsenal of strikes and a Standing Moonsault, the fighting begun to move to another area of the campsite. Nakazawa was sent rolling down the sloping path by Togo, Sakai Body Slammed Ishii onto his partner, Sanshiro and Kota almost threw each other off the bridge and then wound up fighting on top of a cottage, which Ibushi dove off of onto Takagi. He didn’t stop there as he Moonsaulted off of a hill onto Nakazawa while YOSHIHIKO was tossed down another hill and was almost pinned by Sakai. Nakazawa and Togo brawled over to and inside the restrooms. From there, some of the wrestlers fetched out the artillary. Sanshiro brought out a leafblower, Handa rode on an inflatable whale and Ibushi carried a basket filled with fireworks on his back with an umbrella to shield himself. He let loose the fireworks on everyone, even his partner Togo was not safe from them. Takagi grabbed the guitar and tried to stop Ibushi with an anti-war song. But that just made Ibushi chase after him with even more fireworks. Togo caught up with Takagi and broke the guitar over his back. They then made it to a nearby shelter where they both sat down beside each other and begun a chop battle.

Meanwhile Ibushi found the swings and used them to fend off Nakazawa and Handa. YOSHIHIKO followed suit and swung into Takagi. Togo then applied the Crippler Crossface onto Mammoth Handa on the nearby stage, but Nakazawa was there to break it up. At this point a now nearly naked Nakazawa was given a German Suplex by Ibushi onto the wooden stage. The match moved into the rocky end of the river where YOSHIHIKO dove off the bridge onto everyone underneath. There were several nearfalls over at the pond. Ishii dove off the rocks and struck Handa with the Kneel Kick, Takagi gave Ishii the Sunflower Bomb into the water, Ibushi Moonsaulted onto Takagi and Nakazawa’s Back Drop attempt was prevented by a Dick Togo Missile Dropkick followed by a Pedigree into the water. Back in dry land, Muscle Sakai lit up a campfire with YOSHIHIKO. He was then run over by a truck driven by Nakazawa, who then grabbed YOSHIHIKO and threw him head first into the fire! Ishii stamped out the fire but YOSHIHIKO was then dragged onto the top of the van by Ibushi and Power Bombed onto the roof! YOSHIHIKO kicked out so he was then given a Brainbuster form the van onto the ground by Ibushi! Ishii stopped the count and hit Ibushi with the Kneel Kick, allowing YOSHIHIKO to recover and deliver the YOSHIHIKO Destroyer on Ibushi to win the match at just over 59 minutes!

After the match, everyone got together as it begun to rain over the campsite. Takagi said that this was the final event of its kind. It is a bit sad to see it go. It was an annual event that showed the imagination and craziness of DDT in one single hour. However, someone was overheard to have said “Next year, raising an army to a professional wrestling camp om!” I wonder what this could mean…

DDT Schedule For September

September 4, 2010

Back to the proper DDT related news and we have some stuff to really look forward to.

DDT “NON-FIX 9.8”
08/09/2010
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. KUDO & Yasu Urano Vs Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki
2. Dick Togo Vs Kazuki Hirata
3. Unit Reorganization Battle Royal: MIKAMI Vs Tanomusaku Toba Vs Hoshitango Vs Tomimitsu Matsunaga Vs Michael Nakazawa Vs Yukihiro Abe Vs Keisuke Ishii Vs Shigehiro Irie Vs Rion Mizuki Vs Takao Soma
4. Muscle Sakai Shin-Kiba Last Match: HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi Vs Danshoku Dino & Muscle Sakai
5. Sanshiro Takagi Vs Yuki Miyazaki

First up is the next “NON-FIX” event in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. The main event will be an inter-gender match between Sanshiro Takagi and soon-to-retire NEO wrestler Yuki Miyazaki. Yuki spent some time in DDT in the past and is a 15 time Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. Muscle Sakai will team up with his Belt Hunter X Hunter co-founder Danshoku Dino for his final match in the Shin-Kiba arena before his retirement against HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi. Thi match also serves as a preview for the upcoming KO-D Tag Team Titles match at Korakuen Hall later this month. I haven’t been able to find out what the Unit Reorganization Battle Royal is about. Is it to create new teams and stables? All I know is that the match was created by DDT’s new General Manager, Tsurumi Amon.

Yamanashi Natureland Om

1. 4 Way Tag Match: Dick Togo & Kota Ibushi Vs Keisuke Ishii & YOSHIHIKO Vs Michael Nakazawa & Mammoth Handa Vs Sanshiro Takagi & X

After NON-FIX, DDT then takes a day trip down to the Yamanashi Natureland Om for its annual Campsite Pro Wrestling show. Every year DDT adds another team to the advertised match so this time we have a 4 Way Tag Team match, and the line up has me very excited. Who’d ever thought that a dream team of Dick Togo & Kota Ibushi will be a reality at an event like this? Who’d knew that Keisuke Ishii & YOSHIHIKO were such nature enthusaists? Who will Sanshiro Takagi bring with him as his surprise tag partner? Who else thinks Michael Nakazawa & Mammoth Honda is the most inspired pairing ever? Who will remember to bring the fireworks? So many questions and all will be answered at the camping ground on 12th September.

DDT “WHO’S GONNA TOP? 2010”
26/09/2010
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Singles Match: Kota Ibushi Vs Daisuke Sasaki
2. Muscle Sakai DDT Last Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Muscle Sakai
3. KO-D Tag Team Title: Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi

Last but not least, a new match has been added to this month’s Korakuen Hall event. Daisuke Sasaki had a very impressive performance against HARASHIMA last month and will now go toe-to-toe with Kota Ibushi at Korakuen Hall.

“WHO’S GONNA TOP?” Matches Added, DDT48 Standings, Sawada Injured, Ibushi Returning

August 31, 2010

Two matches have been announced for “Who’s Gonna Top? 2010” set to take place in Korakuen Hall on the 26th September. Our new KO-D Tag Team Champions already have their first defence lined up and it couldn’t be against a tougher team. Disaster BOX are the challengers with HARASHIMA looking to add another title to go along with the KO-D Openweight Title currently around his waist while another Tag Title reign would be just peaches for Toru Owashi. Probably the kind he can wear on his head. However, the odd couple of Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino were able to defeat two highly regarded teams in the DDT roster to become the champs. A successful first defence here will clear the highest profile challengers off the table for the time being.

The second match will be Muscle Sakai’s final appearance on the main DDT brand, and could there be any better choice than Sanshiro Takagi to be his opponent? With his retirement coming just over a week later, I look forward to seeing Sakai provide a lot of entertainment here before he’s gone for good.

DDT “WHO’S GONNA TOP? 2010”
26/09/2010
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1. Muscle Sakai Last DDT Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Muscle Sakai
2. KO-D Tag Team Championship: Shiro Koshinaka & Danshoku Dino (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Toru Owashi

As of 29th August 2010, the DDT48 Election standings are as follows:

01. HARASHIMA (117 votes)
02. Danshoku Dino (111 votes)
03. Kota Ibushi (92 votes)
04. MIKAMI (84 votes)
05. Sanshiro Takagi (81 votes)
06. YOSHIHIKO (78 votes)
07. Hikaru Sato (77 votes)
08. Dick Togo (74 votes)
09. Shigehiro Irie    (66 votes)
10. Kenny Omega (60 votes)
11. Yasu Urano (53 votes)
12. Michael Nakazawa    (51 votes)
13. KUDO & Antonio Honda (48 votes)
15. Toru Owashi & Daisuke Sasaki (39 votes)
17. Yukihiro Abe, Shuji Ishikawa & Cherry (33 votes)
20. Takao Soma (32 votes)
21. Keisuke Ishii (30 votes)

The top three have received a huge boost in votes and it’s expected that DDT’s three most known names would be on top. Shigehiro Irie is the most notable drop and languishes in the middle of the pack. It’s becoming clear that the fight for the 18th spot will be the most frantic. A tie for the final spot at the end is starting to look likely.

Turns out Poison Sawada JULIE is injured. He’s gone into hibernation after receiving elbow surgery. No more rattling snake magic for a while then.

Kota Ibushi will make his return for the Campsite Pro Wrestling show on 12th September. So far only he and Sanshiro Takagi have been announced to compete.

DDT “RUINS PRO-WRESTLING”
30/07/2010
Moriya Friend Park, Ibaraki
120 Fans

1. KO-D Tag Team Title & Moriya Tag Team Title, 3 Way Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa (c) defeated HARASHIMA & Hiroyo Matsumoto and Kenji Abe & Mitsuhiro Yoshida (c) when Sawa submitted Yoshida with the Octopus Hold (16:11).
*V8 For Takagi & Sawa.

The “Greatest Title Run Ever” ™ moves on with great momentum as Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa once again triumphed in another DDT “Anywhere Pro-Wrestling” show. This time the location was a community centre in Moriya City, Ibaraki. It was a small venue and there were only two floor mats used to represent the squared circle. The match was a Three Way Tag Team bout that was originally meant to be non-title. But Kenji Abe & Mitsuhiro Yoshida wanted to put their Moriya Tag Team Titles on the line to unify them with the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Takagi & Sawa agreed to the challenge and put their belts on the line. Rounding up the competing teams were the duo of HARASHIMA & joshi wrestler Hiroyo Matsumoto. Tomimitsu Matsunaga served as the referee for this match. Weapons that were used in the match included Sanshiro’s guitar, a trash can, a cardboard box, a wooden board, a squeeky plastic mallet and electric clippers. Yoshida was the unfortunate victim of the clippers and was left with a few shears across his scalp. At one point, Takagi & Sawa attempted to do the Golden Shower (Double 450 Splashes) but were cut off by Kenji Abe. The three way brawl traveled outside to the building’s backyard. A large hole was dug out and Sawa struck Yoshida into the hole with an Irabu Punch. Sawa leapt into the hole and applied the match winning Octopus Hold to make it V8 for the KO-D Tag Champs along with a new pair of belts to add to their collection. After the match, Yoshida had the rest of his hair shaved off.

This is the eigth successful defence for the champs. I lost count along the way and originally thought it was their ninth.
