0. Antonio Honda defeated Rion Mizuki with the Diving Fist Drop (4:59).
1. Keisuke Ishii & Daisuke Sasaki defeated Hoshitango & Shigehiro Irie when Sasaki pinned Irie with a Crucifix Pin (8:32).
2. Takao Soma defeated Kazuki Hirata with the Shubain (9:02).
3. MIKAMI defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga by DQ (6:21).
4. HERO! & HARASHIMA defeated Antonio Honda & Michael Nakazawa when HERO! pinned Nakazawa with a School Boy (10:54).
5. Kota Ibushi defeated DJ Nira with a Last Ride Power Bomb (10:10).
6. Dick Togo, GENTARO & Yasu Urano defeated Danshoku Dino, KUDO & Makoto Oishi when Togo pinned Oishi with the Diving Senton (16:59).

Shuji Ishikawa approached Dick Togo after the main event. He told Togo that he represents Union and will not lose to a man who is about to retire. They butted heads and Togo reacted by punching Shuji in the face and dropping him to the canvas with a Pedigree. Togo then grabbed Shuji and pushed the KO-D Title belt to his face, saying that he will fight full blast against him on 4th May.

Antonio Honda & Michael Nakazawa did a promo referencing the Rowdy Roddy Piper movie, “They Live“. While wearing sunglasses Honda promised to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and he was all out of gum. That didn’t happen. During their match against HARASHIMA & HERO!, Yukinori Matsuri was knocked out. HERO! took advantage of this and used some un-heroic tactics to win the match, poking the eyes of both opponents and placing his feet on the ropes while pinning Nakazawa with a School Boy. HARASHIMA wasn’t so happy that his alter ego turned away from fair play but forgave him anyway.

Kota Ibushi & KUDO Vs Hikaru Sato & Daisuke Sasaki was announced for the 4th May Korakuen Hall show. Choun-Shiryu, Emi Sakura and the Brahman Brothers will also appear on the show.

2. MIKAMI & Hoshitango defeated Tanomusaki Toba & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi when Hoshitango pinned Toba with a Uranage (7:55).
3. Takao Soma, Tomimitsu Matsunaga & Super Shit Machine defeated Dick Togo, GENTARO & Yasu Urano by DQ when GENTARO used a chair on Soma (12:02).
4. 4 Way: HARASHIMA Vs Michael Nakazawa Vs Antonio Honda Vs DJ Nira ended in a No Contest (9:12).
5. Daisuke Sasaki defeated Keisuke Ishii with the NOW or NEVER (10:37).
6. Danshoku Dino, KUDO & Makoto Oishi defeated Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega & Kazuki Hirata when Dino pinned Hirata with the Danshoku Driver (17:31).

After the main event, Tsurumi Amon approached Danshoku Dino in the ring to inform him of Bob Sapp’s latest Tweet. The message was a warning about Sapp’s next assassin. While they were reading the message, the ‘assassin’ suddenly appeared and entered the ring to attack Dino. Dino dodged him but accidentaly sent his attacker slamming into Tsurumi Amon and knocking him out. Dino and the wrestler fought to the back as the show ended.

The 4 Way match unintentionally started off as a 5 Way match. Minoru Fujita made his entrance along with the other competitors and Yukinori Matsui never noticed it. Tsurumi Amon had to stop the match and tell Matsui that Fujita wasn’t supposed to be here. He was eventually dragged away from ringside and the match continued. As the match progressed, DJ Nira formed an alliance with Michael Nakazawa and Antonio Honda and all three focused their attacks on HARAHSIMA. Nakazawa is starting to act like The Rock, but his attempts at The People’s Elbow ended badly when HARASHIMA rolled out of the way. HARASHIMA fought back but eventually the numbers game was proving too much. When all seemed lost, HARASHIMA was suddenly saved by HERO!, who cleared the ring. Matsui called for a No Contest as HARASHIMA was surprised to see himself being saved by his own alter ego.

The money has been sent to the disaster areas in Japan through the Red Cross. More fundraisers will be held during the 3rd April Union show at Shinjuku FACE and DDT’s 6th April show at Shin-Kiba.

A string of wins and great performances from the wrestlers during this tournament could mean New Japan will hold their end of the bargain. If they do then I expect Ken Ohka’s part of the deal will be to never talk to the New Japan staff ever again.

Puro Aid, “JUDGEMENT 2011” Matches, Schedule Shuffle

March 16, 2011

Dramatic Dream Team has joined up with KAIENTAI DOJO, Big Japan Wrestling & FREEDOMS to help send aid and relief to the areas worst affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami disasters. They will also help out wrestling promotions Michinoku Pro and SENDAI GIRLS, which are both located in the badly damaged region. DDT and Union will accept aid and donations at the 27/3 Korakuen Hall show aswell as the 23/7, 6/3 & 6/4 events at Shin-Kiba 1st RING. Everybody in DDT gives out their sincere sympathies to all of those who have been affected by the earthquake.

As of right now, DDT will still hold its 14th Anniversary show at Korakuen Hall on 27th March.

Danshoku Dino received a message from Bob Sapp during the week. I don’t think any attempt at giving a brief explanation of the message would do it justice, so here is the Google translation of the entire statement.

Bob Sapp isn’t convinced that Dino is the real deal. So Bob has sent an ‘Assassin’ over to DDT to test Dino’s abilities on 27th March.

A Union That Actually Works

Yesterday’s results have been updated to correct some mistakes I made due to misunderstanding the translation. Turns out there was more to the 1990s Foreigner Battle Royal than just five Stan Hansens.

The Challenge Right Fight +α Anytime and Anywhere Battle Royal (quite the mouthful there) that will take place in Korakuen Hall on the 27th March will feature at least three Union wrestlers. Who they are has not been announced.

Keisuke Ishii said it was a dream come true to face Takao Omori aswell as to produce his own event. But he also said there are still a lot of dreams he wants to accomplish and he will work hard towards achieving them.

Shuji Ishikawa replaced Tanomusaku Toba in Match #2. Toba suffered a broken nose during his match with Tsuyoshi Kikuchi at the Cruiser’s Game event held earlier.

Keisuke Ishii’s opponents in the dark match were all childhood friends of his. They included a freeter, a salary-man and an unemployed person. Home-made video footage of them as kids wrestling in their bedrooms was shown on the screen before the show. To help bring back such fond memories of their childhood, they had a bed placed inside the ring to do all of their moves on during the match.

Yep, Isami Kodaka successfully defended the DDT Extreme Championship by using a special attack taken from Naruto. MIKAMI might be the next challenger for the belt.

TKG48 announced their latest recruit. Please welcome Member #17: Genichiro Tenryu! He will appear at the next Union show on 3rd April in Shinjuku FACE for a 6-Man Tag match. It will be Tenryu, Sanshiro Takagi & Shigehiro Irie Vs Shuji Ishikawa, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Hiro Tsumaki. Takagi allowed Union to rent Kikuchi from TKG48 for the match. Kikuchi had no idea what Takagi was talking about. Tsumaki earns a spot in his biggest match yet after grabbing the upset win in Match #3.
