Yesterday DDT held a press conference in Shinjuku to get the thoughts of several wrestlers who will compete at “NEVER MIND 2011” on New Year’s Eve. An important note about the main event was announced. The KO-D Openweight Title match between KUDO and MIKAMI will allow the usage of ladders without any risk of disqualification. KUDO is aiming to tie the record for most defences of the KO-D Title, currently held by Sanshiro Takagi with five wins. MIKAMI has gone through intensive training for this match and wants to be the man representing DDT as champion for its 15th Anniversary. With the allowance of ladders for the match now in effect, this gives MIKAMI a great advantage to win the championship.

When KUDO and MIKAMI were done, Hikaru Sato and Michael Nakazawa were next up. The two will team up to face the Crying Wolf pair of Antonio Honda & Keita Yano in the show opener. Nakazawa has begun pestering Sato to become his regular tag team partner again. He promises that if they beat Honda & Yano, they will transform into a brand new tag team and not become the Hentai team they used to be. Sato tried to ignore him and brought up the year he’s had. Sato won the DDT48 General Election, wrestled semi-actively for All Japan and bought a new suit worth 300,000 yen. He told Nakazawa that he will accept the stipulation but added that if they lose to Crying Wolf, Nakazawa will have to fight Sato in a Pancrase rules match.

The press conference finished up with Sanshiro Takagi, Danshoku Dino and Makoto Oishi making an appearance to talk about the 48 Group Vs Homoiro Clover Z 10-Man Tag Team match. Dino said he was looking forward to the “orgy” while Takagi talked about bringing in the KGB48, PJS48 and SUMO48 to join his TKG Rogue Army. The two began to argue until Tsurumi Amon interrupted them. Amon then announced that the 10-Man Tag will now be an Elimination Tag Team match.

A correction on yesterday’s update. The TKG Rogue Army and Russia’s KGB48 were actually joining forces, not declaring war on each other. Instead, Sanshiro Takagi is bringing together representatives of many international 48-strong Wrestling Idol groups to fight Homoiro Clover Z. This has created a 10-Man Tag Team match for New Year’s Eve in Korakuen Hall. On one side is the Homoiro team of Danshoku Dino and Makoto Oishi plus new Z members Gran Hamada, Akito & Hiroshi Fukuda. On the other side is Sanshiro Takagi (TKG Rogue Army), Vladamir Nagai (KGB48), Ivan Markov (KGB48), Poison JULIE Sawada (PJS48) and Hoshitango (SUMO48). Hikari Minami and Bonnie will both be at ringside cheering for their respective sides.

After his recent visit to Union, Katsuhiko Nakajima will now show up in DDT with his fellow Kensuke Office pal Satoshi Kajiwara. HARASHIMA & Takao Soma will be the DDT team for this match.

TKG Rogue Army, KGB48, Japan Vs Mexico? Twitter War!

December 14, 2011

DDT “NEVER MIND 2011”, 31/12/2011
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Runner Vs Runner: Tomomitsu Matsunaga Vs Kazuki Hirata
2. TKG Rogue Army Vs Homoiro Clover Z: X & X Vs X & X
3. Kenny Omega & DJ Nira Vs Masa Takanashi & Daisuke Sasaki
4. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie (c) Vs Yasu Urano & Yuji Hino
5. KO-D Openweight Title: KUDO (c) Vs MIKAMI

We’re going to need a flowchart for this one. Sanshiro Takagi has created a splinter group from the now obsolete TKG48 called the TKG Rogue Army. So far himself and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi are members of the group and they want to face wrestlers from around the world. Yoshiaki Yago & KENSO are already confirmed to face them Korakuen Hall for the Union 3rd January event. Takagi & KENSO have a bad history together. In 2006 the two fought in a No Rope Exploding Barbed-Wire match which KENSO won. Takagi described his defeat to the previously known Kenso Suzuki as a catastrophe. However, KENSO is not the only thing Takagi (and us too) has to worry about…

Russian wrestlers Ivan Markov & Bonnie from the IWF approached Takagi during a video message taped for DDT’s UStream channel. They told Takagi about Russia’s premier Wrestling Idol group, the KGB48. Furthermore, they revealed that they and their agent Vladamir Nagai were very important members of the faction. Takagi told them that he knows many wrestling groups from around the world and that together they will all form an “Allied Bukkake” and declare war on Homoiro Clover Z. The first match between the two groups will take place on New Year’s Eve.

UNION “1…2…3…UNION!”, 03/01/2012
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Loser Must Follow Winner On Twitter: Hiroshi Fukuda (w/ Rumi Kazama) Vs RG
2. Cherry Vs Ayumi Kurihara
3. American Mixed Tag Team Titles: NOSAWA Rongai & Io Shirai (c) Vs Ken Ohka & Mio Shirai
4. Sanshiro Takagi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi Vs KENSO & Yoshiaki Yago
5. DDT Extreme Title: El Generico (c) Vs Isami Kodaka

The rocky relationship between Ken Ohka & Mio Shirai is starting to pay off. They have been granted a championship match for Korakuen Hall next month. It turns out their opponents will be NOSAWA Rongai and Io Shirai, Mio’s sister. While Mio and Io have probably had more wrestling matches against each other than they’ve had hot meals, Mio isn’t exactly thrilled with the idea of Ohka being in the ring with her sister. But that’s more because of the risk that Ohka will get his ass kicked rather than Ohka finding a way to take advantage of Io. However, Ohka has no such perverted thoughts and is seeing this as his best chance to become a champion again. With the Union/IWF relationship creating a Japan Vs Russia atmosphere, Ohka somehows sees this match as Japan Vs Mexico due to NOSAWA & Io’s frequent trips to the country.

The stipulation for Hiroshi Fukuda Vs RG has been decided. The loser of the match must follow the winner’s Twitter account. Fukuda is now encouraging his fans to stop communicating with RG on Twitter and instead retweet his own messages. There is still a very large gap in the amount of followers both wrestlers get (42,779 Vs 565 as of this post), but Fukuda is confident he will be the David against RG’s Goliath. He is counting on each and every one of his 565 followers to give him the power to defeat RG once the match takes place.
