The Aftermath Of Saitama Super Arena

March 22, 2017

One day after “JUDGEMENT 2017” all the staff and wrestlers woke up to news that DDT was given two brand new tour busses by the Grace Tourism Corporation. DDT hopes these new busses will help expand their tours nationwide but first Sanshiro Takagi wants to use one to go strawberry picking. One of the busses was immediately used to host a press conference to announce the cards for the rest of March and April.

Takagi gave an update on the announcement that DDT will run the Tokyo Dome. Kind of. The plan is to have a single Street Wrestling match take place inside the arena. No date or match has been decided yet but Takagi would like to have Minoru Suzuki be involved. He wants Suzuki because Suzuki was with him in the ring at Budokan Hall five years ago when Takagi first revealed his intentions of running the Dome. Takagi said the entire building will be open to them so the match can potentially take place on the pitcher’s mound, the bullpen or even the boiler room. However none of this has been cleared with Suzuki yet.

7. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles – New ωrestling Aidoru Vs New Wrestling America: Makoto Oishi, Shunma Katsumata & MAO (c) Vs Shigehiro Irie, Mike Bailey & Joey Ryan

NωA are a little worried that they will be defending the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles so soon after winning them. Even more worrying are their opponents. Shigehiro Irie was inspired by his American excursions to bring together the best American wrestlers he can find. So far he has Joey Ryan and Mike Bailey. Ignore the fact that Bailey is Canadian. Irie calls his new group New Wrestling America and he wants this unit to be like 3 Count from WCW.

7. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – “DDT Is DDT” 20 Years Entertainment Culmination! The Best In The World Bad Guy Decisive Battle Round 2: Danshoku Dino (c) Vs Joey Ryan

Danshoku Dino and Joey Ryan reconciled their differences after their clusterfuck of a match in Saitama Super Arena. But their new friendship fell apart immediately thanks to them fighting over the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. Ryan wanted to team with Dino so they could fight together against the Hardy Boyz, the Young Bucks, the Dudley Boyz and the Steiner Brothers. But Dino had to be selfish and not give Ryan the Iron Man Title. Ryan wants to win the title and defend it all over Orlando during WrestleMania weekend. Dino would rather keep the title… oh, and also get revenge for Ryota Yamazato getting his ass destroyed by firecrackers.

DDT “FIRST TIME ADVANCE! 2017”, 08/04/2017
Tokyo Narimasu Act Hall

1. You Will Kill Or Get Hurt! You Will Get Caught Or Killed! Special Single Match: Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Danshoku Dino

Dino is juggling a lot lately. He also has a KO-D Tag Team Title shot to prepare for. Part of the preparations involved a match with one half of the champions Yukio Sakaguchi.

DDT “DAMNATION ILLEGAL GATHERING”, 14/04/2017
Shinjuku FACE

1. Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Paulie Vs Daisuke Sekimoto & Kohei Sato
2. DDT Extreme Title: Daisuke Sasaki (c) Vs X

Daisuke Sasaki is inviting wrestlers from all over to apply for a shot at his newly won DDT Extreme Title. Sasaki wants the potential challengers to write him a postcard that clearly states their name, age, occupation, address and phone number along with reasons why they deserve the title shot. Sasaki also wants suggestions for what kind of match the title will be defended in. Postcards must arrive before 24th March and he will announce his opponent on the 25th at the Yokohama show.

DDT “MAX BUMP 2017”, 29/04/2017
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi (c) Vs Yoshihiro Takayama & Danshoku Dino
2. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo

It’s surprising to see this match happen already but Konosuke Takeshita will face his friend turned enemy Tetsuya Endo in his first defence of the KO-D Openweight Title. Endo doesn’t really care about winning the title. He is more interested in making Takeshita’s life miserable and taking the title from him so soon is the perfect way to make him suffer.

Ibushi Fails To Dethrone The Prince

January 4, 2011

NJPW “WRESTLE KINGDOM V IN TOKYO DOME”, 4/1/11
Tokyo Dome
42,000 Fans – No Vacancy

0. World Wrestling Invitation Match: Koji Kanemoto & Ryusuke Taguchi defeated Kenny Omega & Taichi when Taguchi pinned Taichi (8:04).
6. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Prince Devitt (c) defeated Kota Ibushi with the Avalanche Bloody Sunday (16:22).
*V4 for Devitt.

Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega both came out in the losing end of New Japan’s biggest show of the year. Early word for Ibushi Vs Prince Devitt has it being a very exciting match with a hot crowd. Both Ibushi & Omega have now failed to win the IWGP Jr. Title from Devitt, but they can be happy with the fact that they are still the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champions.

In other news, former DDT referee Megumi Grace Asano stepped out of retirement for one night only on New Year’s Eve to officiate the final match in NEO history as the promotion unfortunately closed its doors for good.

I’ve done a little updating to the Rosters page and the Title History. The Union page now includes wrestlers who appear on a regular basis but are not under contract to either DDT or Union. Plus I will include all of the members of the TKG48 as they are revealed, even if it becomes a one time only kind of thing. The Title History for the KO-D Tag Team Championships will be added soon. I just need to figure out how many title defences both the Nuru Nuru Brothers and Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa had during their respective reigns.

One more thing, a more in depth report on  “NEVER MIND 2010” is now uploaded. It includes a very detailed run through of the Danshoku Dino Vs Makoto Oishi match, which turned out to be one of the crazier matches DDT has had in a while. Seriously, the stuff I typed really did happen.

Ibushi Vs Devitt At The Dome!

December 14, 2010

Kota Ibushi will cross paths with Prince Devitt once more, this time on the biggest stage of the Japanese wrestling scene the Tokyo Dome! Ibushi will get a chance to win Devitt’s IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title to go along with his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship, which he also won from the Irishman. When the two last met in singles action it was Devitt who grabbed the win while Ibushi was left with a dislocated shoulder. Since then, Ibushi has bounced back into contention in New Japan’s Junior Division. Now it all comes to a head at the Tokyo Dome.

Kenny Omega will also be taking part on the day in a pre-show tag match. The Golden Lovers Vs Apollo 55 feud will also happen here as Ryusuke Taguchi will be on the opposing team. If both Ibushi & Omega win their matches then the Golden Lovers will continue their recent dominance over “Moon☆Child” & “The Funky Weapon”.
