2. BEST OF THE SUPER CINDERELLA – Round 1: Aoi Ishibashi defeated Orirabu with the Just Facelock (8:39).
3. BEST OF THE SUPER CINDERELLA – Round 1: Haruka Kato defeated J-Soul Pandita III IV’s Sister with the Enjo Spring Nyan Bomb (4:59).
4. BEST OF THE SUPER CINDERELLA – Round 1: Manami Kanda defeated Akemi Papiyon with the Sliding Lariat (6:41).
5. BEST OF THE SUPER CINDERELLA – Semi Final: Aoi Ishibashi defeated Domestic Woman Police Man with the Natural Moonsault (5:07).
6. BEST OF THE SUPER CINDERELLA – Semi Final: Haruka Kato defeated Manami Kanda with the Enjo Haruka Lock (7:51).
7. Ganbare☆Wrestling Raising An Army Anniversary Special Tag Match: Yukihiro Abe & Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari when Tominaga pinned Imanari with the JK (15:23).
8. BEST OF THE SUPER CINDERELLA – Final: Aoi Ishibashi defeated Haruka Kato with the Cookie Splash (9:20).

Enjo-gun did what they could to make Haruka Kato win the tournament. Shibata and Mitomi Masayuki interfered in her matches and got her to the final. They blasted J-Soul Pandita III IV’s Sister with a fire extinguisher and attacked Manami Kanda’s arm so Kato could tap her out. The Ganpuro wrestlers had enough and came to the rescue in the final, cutting off Enjo-gun. With the distractions out of the way Aoi Ishibashi pinned Kato to become BEST OF THE SUPER CINDERELLA!

Akemi Papiyon is a cross dresser who had a major wardrobe malfunction during his match with Manami Kanda. His top was ripped off and his bra fell off right as Kanda hit him with the match winning Sliding Lariat.

Hong Kong International Women Police Man looked almost completely the same as the male counterpart. The only difference was the word “woman” was written on the wrestler’s mask. Miyako Matsumoto came close to beating him in the first round but Police Man unmasked. He tricked the ref into thinking Matsumoto did it and got her disqualified. In the semi-final Police Man chose to abstain from the rest of the tournament because his identity was discovered (he was Atsushi Maruyama of course). He was replaced by Domestic Woman Police Man. He looked exactly the same as the other one.

3. Shoko Nakajima & Erin Vs Ai Shimizu & KANNA
4. Nonoko Vs MIZUHO
5. Miyu Yamashita Vs Saki Akai

Nonoko Vs MIZUHO is the battle of the sex appeal!

This is KANNA’s first match since joining Biishiki-gun. Ai Shimizu says KANNA has been reborn into something beautiful.

Hyper Misao has been fighting 1.47m high monsters in preparation for her next enemy… a college student. Chikage Kiba returns after a several month absence.

Previous Tokyo Joshi shows invited idol groups to perform in between matches. This time the roster will split into groups and do the musical performances themselves. The first group is Mentai Gyo Uza Mango Soe (Mentai Dumplings Served With Mango is the literal translation I’m getting) made up of Miyu Yamashita, Yuka Sakazaki & Erin.

After being confronted by Seiya Morohashi, Hiroshi Fukuda & Yusuke Kubo at the end of “GOLDEN UNION 2015”, FUMA dared all of them to fight him 3 on 1. That’s exactly what is going to happen in Kitazawa Town Hall.

1. Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie Vs Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Shunma Katsumata

3. Antonio Honda, Konosuke Takeshita & Hiroshi Fukuda Vs Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata
4. Anytime, Anywhere Holder 3 Way Match: KUDO Vs Kazusada Higuchi Vs Daisuke Sasaki
5. Different Life ~Sound Of Impermanence~: Danshoku Dino Vs Jinsei Shinzaki
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano
7. DDT Extreme Title – Last Man Standing Match: Akito (c) Vs Shigehiro Irie

A high stakes 3 Way Match guarantees one Right To Challenge Contract will change hands. Daisuke Sasaki wants to have every contract for himself so he can have a Plan B, C, D and E if his eventual cash in fails. He currently has two in his possession but he risks losing one if KUDO or Kazusada Higuchi beat him. Speaking of those two, they are both just weeks away from cashing in their contracts. To lose it now would be catastrophic for that person.

Amon Tsurumi will be the judge for his own Battle Royal. He will pick the winner based on whoever best meets his standards, whatever they are.

UNION “KAZEKAORU UNION 2015”, 23/05/2015

Isami Kodaka has said he uses the Shawn Capture Hold because he is a fan of Zero1 wrestler Ikuto Hidaka. He has invited Hidaka over to Union for a match to find out who uses the move better. Also because it will be a good match and Kodaka hopes everyone will enjoy as much as he will.

0. King Of Dark Title: Mitomi Masayuki & Ryu Gouma defeated Gota Ihashi (c) & DJ Nira when Masayuki pinned Nira with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster (4:30).
*D10 for Gota Ihashi. Mitomi Masayuki wins DJ Nira’s Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.
1. Akito & Tomomitsu Matsunaga defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Shunma Katsumata when Akito submitted Katsumata with a Scorpion Deathlock (8:38).
2. Soma Takao defeated Suguru Miyatake with a Diving Foot Stomp (7:11).
3. Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie defeated Antonio Honda & Hiroshi Fukuda when Ishii pinned Fukuda after a Double Brainbuster (12:20).
4. Danshoku Dino, Makoto Oishi, MIKAMI & X = Shiori Asahi defeated Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Saki Akai when Asahi pinned Akai with a Backslide Pin (10:56).
5. Daisuke Sasaki defeated Konosuke Takeshita by Countout (16:23).
6. 3 Way Match: Kazusada Higuchi & Ryota Nakatsu defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano and KUDO & Masa Takanashi when Higuchi submitted Takanashi with the Canadian Backbreaker (14:30).

The DNA team surpassed expectations and were victorious in the main event 3 Way Match. Kazusada Higuchi stopped HARASHIMA from hitting the Somato and laid him out with the Goten. Masa Takanashi tried to sneak a pin but Higuchi caught him and applied his Modified Canadian Backbreaker to make him submit. KUDO looked on in interest knowing that when he cashes in he will be fighting either HARASHIMA or Higuchi for the KO-D Openweight Title.

Daisuke Sasaki has made it his goal to collect all of the Right To Challenge Contracts. However this means he is also willing to get cheap wins to avoid losing any of them. Sasaki lured Konosuke Takeshita outside the ring and was chased over to the entrance stage. They both climbed up the entrance gate but Sasaki quickly jumped off and tried to run back to the ring. Takeshita caught up and they brawled until Sasaki found an open closet and trapped his opponent inside. Sasaki made it back to the ring in time while Takeshita got counted out. Sasaki later demanded a 3 Way match between himself, KUDO and Kazusada Higuchi for 17th May.

Sanshiro Takagi predicted X was going to be Shiori Asahi. He was correct. He got to dance with Saki Akai when the HIRATA GO glasses came into play. He also pinned Akai with a Backslide Pin that involved shoving both his and Akai’s heads into the bare asses of Makoto Oishi and Danshoku Dino respectively before doing the move properly.

One of the contracts is now in Union hands. Mitomi Masayuki pinned DJ Nira in the dark match to win his contract. Masayuki said he doesn’t know when he will cash in but he wants to do it on a Union show.

It was revealed the Right To Challenge Contract holders will not be allowed compete in this year’s King Of DDT tournament.

2. Special Retirement Exhibition Match: KAGUYA Vs Ayako Hamada ended in a Time Limit Draw (5:00).
3. 3 Way Match: Sonoko Kato defeated Ryo Minami and Mitsuhisa Sunabe when Kato pinned Minami with the Diving Guillotine Drop (9:44).
4. Irregular Rules Match: Shuji Ishikawa defeated Fairy Nihonbashi with the Fire Thunder (5:54).
5. Psuedo Close Match: HAYATA, Misaki Ohata & Tsukasa Fujimoto defeated Yumi Ohka, Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto when HAYATA pinned Ohka with the Tsuchigumo (15:11).
6. Thanks For Teaching And Training During The Rookie Era: Takashi Sasaki defeated Mio Shirai with the Vertical Drop D-Geist (15:10).

She is four months away from retirement but Mio Shirai found time to thank and credit Takashi Sasaki for helping during her rookie years. Before the match began Shirai offered a handshake. Sasaki asked her if she is grateful. She said she was because she would have become a bad wrestler without his help. Sasaki did not shake her hand but was happy with her answer and called for the match to start. Shirai came close to winning when she countered a Power Bomb into the Tsuchigumo. Sasaki kicked out and stopped Shirai in her tracks with a Knee Kick and a Lariat. Shirai kicked out and countered the D-Geist into a Sleeper Hold. Sasaki countered that into the Michinoku Driver II followed by the D-Geist for the three count. After the match Sasaki thanked Shirai for picking him as an opponent knowing that she only has a limited amount of matches left to wrestle. He talked about knowing Mio and her sister Io Shirai for 8 years and the times she wrestled for his FREEDOMS promotion.

Yumi Ohka blamed Isami Kodaka for their loss in the semi-main event. The two haven’t seen eye to eye ever since “M.I.O 2” and Ohka challenged Kodaka to a match on 19th June. Meanwhile Misaki Ohata suggested a 3 Way Tag Match for a show on 12th July. She and Tsukasa Fujimoto can both go find partners to take on Shirai & HAYATA. HAYATA noted that he and Shirai kind of look alike so Ohata and Fujimoto should go looking for men who have similar appearances to themselves. He advised the audience to send both women suggestions on Twitter.

Due to a difference of over 80kg in weight between Shuji Ishikawa and Fairy Nihonbashi special rules were put in place to make the match more even. Nihonbashi only needed to pin Ishikawa for a one count to win. That wasn’t enough and Ishikawa went on to win the match without any hesitation.

Shirai’s masked alter ego KAGUYA had her retirement match with Ayako Hamada. Since it was just an exhibition the bout only lasted five minutes before being declared a draw. A retirement ceremony was held for her afterwards and included a message from AAA general manager Dorian Roldan read by Hamada. The message spoke of how “KAGUYA was born in Mexico” back in 2010 and was AAA’s first female masked wrestler from Japan.

Aja Kong was clearly frustrated with having to wrestle Miyako Matsumoto in the opening match. If that wasn’t enough, Hiroshi Fukuda tried to woo her with a love song. Kong gave him a Diving Elbow Drop for his troubles.

DNA rookies Kazusada Higuchi & Ryota Nakatsu are thrusted into the main event with big implications depending on the result. Higuchi and KUDO both have Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contracts and both have made their intentions clear to cash in later this month. Getting pinned would devastate either man’s plan.

The King Of Dark Title only changes hands if Gota Ihashi pins or submits one of his opponents. No title change if DJ Nira gets the win.

Sanshiro Takagi Becomes CEO Of WRESTLE-1

May 5, 2015

sanshiro-muto

Well this was unexpected. Sanshiro Takagi appeared at today’s WRESTLE-1 event in Korakuen Hall to announce he was the new CEO of the company. W-1 head honcho Keiji Muto introduced him during the show and Takagi said he will be continuing his duties as president of DDT along with his new role. Takagi compared his position to Carlos Ghosn, the current Chairman and CEO of both Renault and Nissan.

Takagi gave a behind the scenes interview to explain the sudden news. There was a management shake-up in W-1 during March with many leaving their positions in “various circumstances”. Takagi attended the 1st April W-1 show in Korakuen Hall and got to see how it was run. He was amazed by the show and the response from the audience. Takagi’s goals for the company is to cut costs, improve merchandise and ticket sales and expand into rural areas.

Takagi’s role with W-1 is simply behind the scenes. He will not be wrestling for them nor will he play a character on their shows. There is no plan for DDT and W-1 to exchange talent. His job is to get W-1 to make a profit. The immediate challenge is to improve show attendences and box office numbers. On the plus side he thinks W-1 has a lot of young talent and a good roster after the company merged with Wrestling New Classic. Takagi hopes this decision will liven up the pro wrestling world.

Just to make things clear, I’m not going to be writing anything else on WRESTLE-1 anytime soon unless DDT is heavily involved with it. W-1 is still a seperate company and Takagi is only working with them behind the scenes. Unless something crazy happens and W-1 gets absorbed into the DDT family or there is a big angle where a DDT act invades, it won’t get much attention here.

*V1 for Team Dream Futures.

The main event not only saw a successful KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title defence but also the DDT Extreme Champion being pinned by his next challenger. Shigehiro Irie swore that he will win the title from Akito.

There was a clash of interest with the Infomercial Match. It was originally supposed to advertise Tsuyoshi Kikuchi’s business but The Great Kojika unexpectedly appeared to promote a Big Japan show being held in Sendai on 9th June. The two teams battled over what should be advertised. Antonio Honda & Hiroshi Fukuda promoted Kikuchi’s business whenever they applied a submission hold while Sanshiro Takagi & Gorgeous Matsuno hyped the Big Japan show when they were in control of the match. When the match was over Kikuchi was upset because he wasn’t finished handing out flyers to everyone in the audience.

Masa Takanashi and Tomomitsu Matsunaga were both fined for arriving at the company bus late before it took off to Miyagi. They both overslept.
