Isami Kodaka Launches Pro Wrestling BASARA

Last week during the DDT Dramatic General Election results show there was a few news items about the aftermath of Union’s closure. The big news is the formation of a new wrestling organisation called Pro Wrestling BASARA. Led by Isami Kodaka, BASARA aims to rebel against the industry’s current regime with flashy wrestling. Kodaka was joined by former Union wrestlers Hiroshi Fukuda, Daichi Kazato, Ryu Gouma and SAGAT as the first wrestlers signed to the new brand. FUMA has also joined the group according to Kodaka. Kazato said he wants to dye his own colours into BASARA, SAGAT said he will work hard for the new brand, Gouma said he is here because BASARA was missing intelligence and compliance without him, and Fukuda said he wants to continue pursuing the wrestling he believes in and that involves the power of singing.

The first four BASARA shows will take place next year on 21st January in Shinjuku, 5th February in Saitama, 21st February in Osaka and 26th February in Yokohama. Kodaka said he wants to book shows in more rural areas in Japan and might do two shows a month if BASARA becomes successful. He will continue to promote the Tavern Wrestling shows alongside BASARA aswell as take outside bookings but the new brand is his priority.

Not everyone from Union is jumping over to BASARA, instead they have gone down different roads. Seiya Morohashi, Cherry and Lady Beard have all been signed by DDT. Morohashi said a lot has changed in DDT during the six years he has been gone. Cherry is happy to return to the company she debuted for and she is now a coach in a wrestling school DDT is associated with. Lady Beard is excited to work for DDT. Shuji Ishikawa and Mitomi Masayuki have both become freelancers. Masayuki wants to work for a variety of groups and prefers to take bookings on his own from now on. He thanked the entire DDT company for everything he learned during his time here. Yusuke Kubo and Daichi are both leaving wrestling. Kubo has gone back to working for DDT’s video production team while Daichi wasn’t booked much even as a part-timer.

0. King Of Dark Title: Konosuke Takeshita & Hiroshi Fukuda defeated Sanshiro Takagi (c) & Chikara when Fukuda pinned Takagi with a Backslide Pin (9:40).
*D1 for Sanshiro Takagi.
1. Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Suguru Miyatake & Ryota Nakatsu when Takao pinned Miyatake with the Gin And Tonic (8:17).
2. Tokyo Joshi Pro Offer Match: Miyu Yamashita & Erin defeated Shoko Nakajima & Yuka Sakazaki when Yamashita pinned Sakazaki with the Crash Rabbit Heat (11:22).
3. Next Omori Title Challenger Battle Royal: Seiya Morohashi defeated Danshoku Dino with the Diving Headbutt (16:37).
Order Of Elimination: Kazuki Hirata, Kouki Iwasaki & Lady Beard, Tetsuya Endo, Toru Owashi & Kazusada Higuchi, Gota Ihashi, Antonio Honda and Danshoku Dino.
4. Omori World Title: Makoto Oishi defeated Gurukin Mask (c) with the Jikiden Tornado Clutch (9:55).
*Gurukin fails in V1. Makoto Oishi becomes the 6th Omori World Champion!
5. HARASHIMA, Akito & Yasu Urano defeated Yukio Sakaguchi, Masa Takanashi & Kota Umeda when HARASHIMA pinned Umeda with the Somato (12:39).

Well, Ken Ohka pulled it off. He announced that Hiroshi Tanahashi will return to DDT for the #OhkaEmpire show on 28th November to face HARASHIMA for the first time since “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2015”. The match will be HARASHIMA & Ohka Vs Tanahashi & Yohei Komatsu. HARASHIMA thanked Ohka, Danshoki Dino & Muscle Sakai for negotiating the match. He also thanked Tanahashi and New Japan for accepting the offer. He promises to do his best. Meanwhile Ohka’s message for Tanahashi is HARASHIMA will win, win, win!

The Omori World Title changed hands in the semi-main event. Makoto Oishi had some help from Danshoku Dino’s rear end to defeat Gurukin Mask. After the match the Rocky theme played over the speakers and Seiya Morohashi was carried to ringside by Kazusada Higuchi, Ryota Nakatsu and Tetsuya Endo. Morohashi said he will win the title but Oishi is determined to keep the title until the end of his career.

Morohashi last eliminated Dino to win the Battle Royal. He pinned Dino with a Diving Headbutt to the crotch. He will face Oishi for the Omori World Title on next year’s JR Omori Station show.

Sanshiro Takagi accidentally took a powerful Chop from Chikara that led to him getting pinned by Hiroshi Fukuda. Takagi stays as King Of Dark Champion because of this.
