2. 3 Way Match: Masahiro Takanashi defeated Toru Owashi and Guanchulo when Takanashi pinned Guanchulo with the Coax (8:38).
3. One And Only! The Rare Gay Wrestler Danshoku Dino’s Long Awaited Return Match For The First Time In 11 Days!: Danshoku Dino & Antonio Honda Vs Soma Takao & Mizuki Watase ended in a No Contest (11:27).
4. KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Kazusada Higuchi & Kouki Iwasaki when KUDO pinned Iwasaki with the Diving Double Knee Drop (13:32).
5. Shizuoka Specialty! Sharp, Sharp, Clear! Special Single Match: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Makoto Oishi with a Short Range Lariat (19:51).
6. Smile Squash Vs DAMNATION!: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated HARASHIMA, Akito & Yasu Urano when Sasaki pinned HARASHIMA with the Vietnam Driver II (17:01).

The battles between HARASHIMA and Daisuke Sasaki keep on tilting back and forth. This time Sasaki ended the fight on top, pinning HARASHIMA in the main even 6-Man Tag. He countered a Crucifix into the NOW OR NEVER. Tetsuya Endo followed up with a Swan Dive 450 Splash then Sasaki got the pin with the Vietnam Driver II. After the match Sasaki again lied about wanting to fight fair with HARASHIMA. This time HARASHIMA knew Sasaki was going to kick him low so he caught it. Sasaki acted embarrassed and promised never to do something stupid like that ever again. He even had Endo come over and hold down his right leg so it wouldn’t kick out. This was all a distraction for Sasaki to kick HARASHIMA below the belt with his left leg.

Problems rose between Konosuke Takeshita and Makoto Oishi at the beginning of the show. Both of them wanted to do the opening speech and they proceeded to argue over who sold more T-shirts. Takeshita said that he’s been training non-stop at the gym because he wants to main event at Saitama Super Arena. Oishi replied that he’s been wrestling since before Takeshita was in elementary school and their match later will be the culmination of his 15 year career. They then both stopped dead in their tracks to warmly welcome everyone to the start of the show. After Takeshita beat Oishi in the semi-main event, he apologised for the mean things he said before. He said today they fought the kind of big match he expects to have in Saitama. He hopes when he goes on to win the KO-D Openweight Title there, Oishi’s friends and mother will be there to watch him. Then they can have a title match together for them.

Masahiro Takanashi wasn’t impressed with Team DNA. He thinks the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match will have the same result at today. Total victory for Shuten-dōji!

11 days away from the ring left Danshoku Dino feeling pretty excited to return. His perverted antics got so bad that his return match had to be called off. It was at the point where there was a giant pile on with Yukinori Matsui stuck in the middle when Matsui decided enough was enough.

HARASHIMA showed a rare dark side the last time he was in the ring with Daisuke Sasaki. HARASHIMA choked out Sasaki with a Sleeper Hold but it was in retaliation for Sasaki blindsiding him at a previous show. Will Sasaki go for revenge knowing he could risk facing HARASHIMA’s wrath again afterwards?

In unfortunate news, MIZUHO “graduated” from Tokyo Joshi Pro during the week. MIZUHO had been absent for most of 2016 when she suffered dizziness during intense training exercises. The source of this problem turned out to be a malfunctioning semicircular canal. She took time off to rest but her condition never recovered. After speaking to her doctor and the Tokyo Joshi staff she decided it was time to end her wrestling career and devote time to treating her condition. MIZUHO apologised to the Tokyo Joshi fans for leaving so suddenly.

Team HARASHIMA: HARASHIMA, Konosuke Takeshita, Mike Bailey, Masahiro Takanashi, Akito, Soma Takao, Kazuki Hirata, Shunma Katsumata, Mizuki Watase and Yuki Ueno

Team Oishi: Makoto Oishi, KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi, Yasu Urano, Keisuke Ishii, Kouki Iwasaki, MAO, Guanchulo, Nobuhiro Shimatani, Yoshihiko

Today’s show was built around a team challenge with HARASHIMA and Makoto Oishi as captains. According to Johnny Etajima, there has been a long standing conflict between the two wrestlers in BOYZ. Special rules were put in place for the tournament matches such as two count pinfalls for needed to win and 5 counts outside the ring being enough to DQ wrestlers. In the opening introductions everyone wore football uniforms. HARASHIMA said his team was going to win because he has so many friends.

Team Oishi took the lead by winning the first three matches. Team HARASHIMA won Match #4 but was still down by two when intermission hit and half time was called. HARASHIMA still had faith in his friends to win the remaining matches. Oishi blamed Yasu Urano for giving their team their only loss up to this point. Urano was counted out when Masahiro Takanashi threw a football at him as he tried to re-enter the ring. A time limit draw between Konosuke Takeshita and Keisuke Ishii then meant that Team HARASHIMA could no longer score enough points to win the challenge. All they could do now was score enough points to reach a tie. Akito sent the team off on the right track by submitting Oishi in the penultimate match. Then in the main event Oishi instructed MAO run away from HARASHIMA until the time ran out because a draw is enough to give them total victory. Unfortunately HARASHIMA pinned MAO with the Somato, ending the challenge in a draw.

Etajima announced that a winner would be decided by sudden death overtime. Each team would send forth one wrestler and the first to get a one count pinfall would win the entire challenge. HARASHIMA picked himself while Oishi lined up his team’s strongest wrestlers on the apron. However he spent so much time in the ring that Etajima thought Oishi was nominating himself. The bell rang and HARASHIMA did move after move trying to pin Oishi with no success. Oishi got the pinfall out of nowhere when he countered the Double Knee Gutbuster into a Cradle. Oishi celebrated by singing with the rest of NωA while his other teammates celebrated.

The first Korakuen Hall show of the DDT UNIVERSE launch will determine the main event of “JUDGEMENT 2017” in Saitama Super Arena this March. Bad blood is growing between HARASHIMA and Daisuke Sasaki over the KO-D Openweight Title. Meanwhile Konosuke Takeshita and KUDO won their playoff matches to reach the final but only one will get the KO-D Title shot at DDT’s 20th Anniversary.

Yasu Urano spent the last week acting coy about wanting to challenge for the AJPW Jr. Title. He’s now getting what he wants and that’s a title match against Keisuke Ishii. Urano promises to wrestle clean but Ishii doesn’t believe him.

Yeah, DDT thinks getting Dino out there for the match promoting DDT UNIVERSE is the best idea. I mean at this point if you’re subscribing to it you have to know what to expect.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Mike Bailey (c) when Funaki pinned Bailey with the Hybrid Blaster (14:43).
*Konosuke Takeshita & Mike Bailey fail in V2. Masakatsu Funaki & Yukio Sakaguchi become the 59th KO-D Tag Team Champions.

Looks like Masakatsu Funaki will be sticking around for a while because he is now a KO-D Tag Team Champion! Funaki drilled Mike Bailey’s head into the canvas with the Hybrid Blaster to cause the title change. Yukio Sakaguchi’s victory speech was cut off when HARASHIMA & Akito entered the ring. Akito reminded Sakaguchi that he beat him by submission yesterday. He asked how humiliating must it have been? Sakaguchi tried to brush his comments off but Akito then said that there’s no way the pain he caused to Sakaguchi’s legs have already gone away. Sakaguchi said that liquor is his medicine. He then wanted to know if Akito was here to challenge him. Well there’s no need as Sakaguchi nominated him and HARASHIMA as the No. 1 Contenders anyway. When Smile Squash were sent away, Funaki told a story about meeting Sakaguchi’s father Seiji Sakaguchi at a New Japan training camp when he was around 16 years old. He did not think he would be winning championships with Seiji’s son 32 years later.

HARASHIMA got a measure of revenge on Daisuke Sasaki for yesterday’s sneak attack. After he hit Sasaki with the Somato, HARASHIMA then applied a Sleeper Hold and choked out Sasaki to win. When Sasaki was revived backstage he asked if Candice LeRae saw what happened. Apparently she did. Sasaki then swore he will kill HARASHIMA!

At the start of the show Makoto Oishi had to be encouraged by Amon Tsurumi to have his match with Yoshihiro Takayama. Oishi was intimidated by the massive size difference and the result was never in doubt. Oishi was fighting back the tears as he thanked Takayama for the match backstage afterwards. Takayama tried to cheer him up by saying he showed No Fear.

Yasu Urano will get his AJPW Jr. Title match against Keisuke Ishii on 29th January. He was in such a good mood over this and his win today that he was full of praise for Ishii in his post-match promo. Urano said he would not mind if he had to wait for the title shot but the All Japan office gave their blessing for it to happen on the 29th. Urano promises a fair fight but Ishii doesn’t believe him.

Antonio Honda doesn’t feel bad about his age when he teams with Yuni. Honda’s 39 years old and Yuni is only 8. That makes their average age 23. Honda is now thinking up a team name for themselves.

There was a little bit of tension between Kazuki Hirara and Candice LeRae. Candice complained about Hirata’s dance entrance. However she was happy to dance herself once she put on the Hirata GO! glasses. During the dance Kazusada Higuchi Headbutted Hirata in time with the music. Candice then pinned Hirata with the Balls Plex.

Danshoku Dino Vs Yoshihiro Takayama was booked for Osaka Edion Arena #2 on 4th February.

6. NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles: Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Isami Kodaka & Takumi Tsukamoto (c) when Sekine submitted Tsukamoto with the Let’s Combine (18:54).
*The Aldini Brothers fail in V3. Cavalry becomes the 22nd NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Champions!

Cavalry strikes gold! They defeated The Aldini Brothers to win the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles. Victory came when Ryuichi Sekine put Takumi Tsukamoto into the Let’s Combine. Isami Kodaka tried to cut him off but Ryota Nakatsu got rid of him by using the V Slider. Sekine applied more pressure to Tsukamoto until he gave up. Nakatsu complimented Sekine on his submission hold then admitted he cried when the bell rang and Sekine’s music started playing. Sekine brought up Kodaka’s speech from Friday about having to beat him more than once to become BASARA’s ace. Sekine invited Kodaka to try and win the belts back but warned him that he and Nakatsu will destroy him on their way to the top of BASARA!

It seemed like IRON PRIEST were making a new friend out of HUB. He joined in with their heavy metal posing after the match until he suddenly whipped FUMA with the long tail from his mask. HUB then admitted he can’t get along with those kind of people.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi warned his Osaka opponents about his and SAGAT’s devastating double team move, the Space SAGAT Torpedo 2. Although really he was trying to promote the T-shirts of the move that were on sale over by the merch stand. He then launched a surprise attack of the move with SAGAT but Tsubasa & Billy Ken Kid easily avoided it. SAGAT went for the Goregrind on on Kid but was stopped with a High Kick and pinned with La Espida. Both Tsubasa & Kid were confused over what there opponents were meant to be. They were expecting foreigners. I guess Hiroshi counts as one.

6. KO-D Openweight Title Challenger Decision Tournament – Round 1: KUDO defeated Tetsuya Endo with Three Backspin Kicks (24:00).

KUDO joins Konosuke Takeshita in the final of the KO-D Openweight Title contender tournament. Tetsuya Endo’s chance of beating him was ruined by his surroundings. The ceiling was so low that he hesitated to do the Sky Twister Press from the top rope. That allowed KUDO to recover and trip Endo into a Tree Of Woe position. KUDO hit the Diving Double Knee Drop and then hit another one to the back of Endo’s head when he stood up. KUDO then hit three Backspin Kicks for the victory. Takeshita approached KUDO after the match and offered a handshake. KUDO rejected it by knocking Takeshita’s hand away with his knee.

Today was Shigehiro Irie’s final match in Japan before his next tour of North America. Irie spoke to everyone involved in his match after it ended. He told Soma Takao he still likes him even though they drifted apart after Team Dream Futures split up. Irie was also happy to wrestle with his teacher Kengo Takai again. He wants to repay Takai by growing into a bigger wrestler overseas and returning to DDT better than ever.

Akito scored a huge accomplishment in the 3 Way Tag match by being the first person to submit Yukio Sakaguchi in DDT! He put Sakaguchi in a Figure Four Leg Lock, then grabbed Sakaguchi’s arms and pulled them towards him to apply a “perfect” version of the hold until Sakaguchi submitted. Sakaguchi was furious afterwards and swore revenge. He will never forgive Akito for this and will destroy him as payback!

Candince LeRae said wrestling Yoshihiko felt like a dream. Not as in it was a dream come true, more like she isn’t sure it really happened. She was told beforehand that Yoshihiko is a legend around these parts but she thought a joke was being played on her. For one thing she doesn’t know if Yoshihiko is male or female.

MAO was unavailable so Sanshiro Takagi went ahead and found a temporary replacement and possible new member for NωA. Their music played and out came Ultraman Robin wearing MAO’s entrance gear and badly singing along. Makoto Oishi was insulted but had no choice but to team with Robin when T2Hide attacked them to start the match. Robin got rid of Takagi & Toru Owashi, allowing Oishi to pin Kazuki Hirata with the Tornado Clutch. Despite his good performance, he wasn’t accepted into NωA. Oishi and Shunma Katsumata instead flipped him off and left the ring.

*V2 for Shuten-dōji.
7. KO-D Openweight Title Challenger Decision Tournament – Round 1: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kazusada Higuchi (25:31).

Konosuke Takeshita is one more match away from reaching the main event of “JUDGEMENT 2017” in March. He defeated Kasusada Higuchi in the first match of a four man playoff. There were Lariats a plenty as both men wanted to outlast the other with their strength. Takeshita kicked out of the Doctor Bomb at two but Higuchi kicked out of a Vertical Drop Brainbuster at one. Takeshita hit the same Horizontal Chops he used to beat Toru Owashi last year but Higuchi survived them. It took a German Suplex to end the match and send Takeshita through to the final. Takeshita said when he wins the KO-D Openweight Title at Saitama Super Arena he will want one more match with Higuchi.

Shuten-dōji are still the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions but they have bigger fish to fry this weekend. They are more invested in seeing KUDO beat Tetsuya Endo tomorrow and eventually win the main event spot for “JUDGEMENT 2017”. They would love nothing more than to see KUDO Vs HARASHIMA for the title to celebrate DDT’s 20th Anniversary.

HARASHIMA has other problems to worry about for now. After losing to DAMNATION, he was approached by Daisuke Sasaki. Calm and polite, Sasaki said he is over Candice LeRae and promised to fight fair against HARASHIMA in their title match on 29th January. They were about to shake hands when Sasaki kicked HARASHIMA and then put him in the Modified Cross Facelock until the champion fainted. Sasaki threw HARASHIMA out of the ring and yelled that he will become the champion on 29/1.

Yasu Urano is worried he now cannot challenge Keisuke Ishii for the AJPW Jr. Title after being pinned by him today. He was told that it’s still possible. It’s all up to the PWF President Dory Funk Jr. Urano wouldn’t dare to ask him immediately. Instead he’s going to be more calculated and wait until the time is right.

The 3 Way Match fell apart when Mad Paulie attacked the referee. Shigehiro Irie and Mike Bailey worked together to fight him off and send him packing. Irie gave Bailey a thumbs up afterwards.

It just goe from bad to worse for Nobuhiro Shimatani. After losing another King Of Dark Title match he was told afterwards that he cannot wrestle for DNA as long as he is champion. Shimatani swears he will get rid of the cursed championship and go back to DNA when it is relaunched next month.

Danshoku Dino was not at the show due to a back injury. Instead the BOYZ president Johnny Etajima appeared to announce his plans for the 12th January BOYZ event. He wants to do something unusual so the show will be based around a competition between two teams captained by Makoto Oishi and HARASHIMA. Oishi has a mystery wrestler on his team, the only clue is it’s an attractive blonde. Everyone assumes it is Yasu Urano.

7. Kouki Iwasaki defeated Ryota Nakatsu with the Leg Capture Suplex (17:31).

Kouki Iwasaki finally got his win over Ryota Nakatsu! It took a Brainbuster onto a knee, a Buzzsaw Kick and the Leg Capture Suplex but Iwasaki finally did it. Iwasaki said he would have never been able to lose this match even if Nakatsu broke both of his legs. However he thanked Nakatsu for giving him his best. Nakatsu admitted he’s been looking down on DNA for the last couple of months but it’s only because he’s so focused on carrying BASARA. He told Iwasaki when he becomes the ace of BASARA he will come back to DNA for another top level match together. Iwasaki said when the new DNA is shown on 23rd February, he will stand in the centre as the ace and will not be beaten by anyone!

Kotaro Suzuki was impressed with what he saw in his first DNA match. He thinks it is a wonderful group of young wrestlers. If he ever needs his fill of wrestling, he’ll make sure to come back here. Shunma Katsumata took him up on that offer and challenged him to a singles match on 23rd February at the relaunch show.

Both MAO and Mike Bailey were complimentary towards each other after their match. Bailey calls MAO the best high flyer in DNA but Bailey’s black belt in Judo was the difference. MAO never knew Judo was practised in Canada and was amazed by Bailey’s speed and jumping ability.

Naomi Yoshimura continues his undefeated streak but he’s starting to bite off more than he can chew. He had a stand off with Kazusada Higuchi after their tag match. Backstage Noshimura said “the little guy” (Nobuhiro Shimatani) is okay but he’s coming to crush Higuchi!

Guanchulo wants to team regularly with Rekka in DNA from now on. They live together, train together and eat together so that means they should be a great team together.

5. Union MAX Title: FUMA defeated Isami Kodaka (c) with the Jawbreaker (19:55).
*Isami Kodaka fails in V1. FUMA becomes the 7th Union MAX Champion!

After unsealing the Union MAX Championship and winning it back on Christmas Day, Isami Kodaka already lost the title in his first defence! FUMA with his tens of millions of metal heads supporting him from the darkness defeated his rival to win the title. It happened when FUMA blocked the Isamuashi Zan by catching Isami’s leg. FUMA then hit the Metal Fire From Hell, a German Suplex and finally the Jawbreaker kick. FUMA’s victory speech was about how everyone in BASARA loves metal music whether it is slush metal, death metal, melodic metal or even black metal. But the real joy is found in heavy metal! Kodaka accepted defeat and invited Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Ryuichi Sekine into the ring to stand beside FUMA. He asked is FUMA satisfied with just beating him once? Is a single win enough for FUMA to think he is better than Kodaka? No, Kodaka wants FUMA to beat him again and progress further than he ever did. Kodaka challenged FUMA, Hiroshi and Sekine to overtake him in the race to the top of BASARA because Kodaka is still going to be here. FUMA accepted the challenge and claims he will shut down Kodaka. “Keep on rockin’! We are Heavy Metal! We are IRON PRIEST!”

Today is Takumi Tsukamoto’s 26th birthday so Cavalry were ready to give him a birthday bashing! They even screamed “Happy birthday!” to him while attacking him and targeting his arm. Tsukamoto fought out of the rough spot and won the match with some help from Hi69. However after the match Ryota Nakatsu pointed at Tsukamoto’s NWA Light Heavyweight Tag Title and indicated he is coming for that belt.
