Fuminori Abe sent his message loud and clear. By making Ryota Nakatsu submit he now wants a shot at the Union MAX Title! Abe admits he doesn’t know about the history of the championship or who has fought for it before him. But he thinks the two strongest wrestlers in BASARA are himself and Nakatsu. He has to beat Nakatsu to become the strongest and lead BASARA into the future! Nakatsu didn’t like hearing that because he thinks he is BASARA’s future. The title match takes place on 29th January.

The return of Isami Kodaka fro injury was spoiled by Naoki Tanizaki. When Kodaka avoided the Implant it led to a scramble of pins that Tanizaki got the best of, countering one Cradle into another for the three count. The defeat stops any immediate chance Kodaka had of getting a Union MAX Title rematch with Nakatsu. Kodaka said he feels the pain but this is pro wrestling. BASARA moved on while he was gone. It’s now his goal to catch up and overtake everyone else!

Takumi Tsukamoto held onto the back of FUMA’s pants during the School Boy to pin him. The two fought after the match and had to be pulled apart.

In Match #2 Takato Nakano went for a Swan Dive but SAGAT caught him with the Goregrind in midair for the win.

It is now confirmed that the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match is the main event for DDT’s first show of the year. #STRONGHEARTS defend against ALL OUT and there’s a few small stories to keep track of. CIMA wants Akito to take the fall so #STRONGHEARTS will have swept over the entire ALL OUT unit. CIMA is also encouraging Duan Yingnan to beat Konosuke Takeshita to raise the newcomer’s reputation. Takeshita is riding a wave of momentum by winning the D-Ou Grand Prix as well as the New Year Shuffle Tag Tournament. #STRONGHEART’s only defeat in DDT happened because of Akito and he’s the sole person in the company to claim a win over the invaders. Yuki Iino is eager to show what he learned teaming with Daisuke Sekimoto on the New Year’s Eve show.

The 3 Way Tag is now a Ladder match with an otoshidama gift envelope hanging above the ring for the wrestlers to fight over.

Will Miyu Yamashita’s curiosity about Maki Itoh’s abilities get in the way of her own performance? Two months ago she intentionally beat Itoh with a Crab Hold in order to see how Itoh would recover her momentum. A month later Itoh was able to pin Yamashita as part of a 2/3 Falls Tag Match so Itoh is capable of beating the champion even if it’s by fluke. Yamashita is certain they will have an interesting match together and wants to find out what version of Itoh shows up for the big main event. Itoh thinks this is the most special TOKYO Princess Title match ever. She knows that the fanbase are expecting her to lose but that only means they won’t see it coming when she wins! Itoh lost a lot and went through many twists and turns to get here. If she becomes champion, fans can look at her and think “Maybe I am a loser like Itoh, but I might be able to win like her too.”

The Magical Sugar Rabbits are determined to hold onto the TOKYO Princess Tag Team Titles because the championship is what makes their team. They will always be on good terms but should they lose the belts to the Twin Cam Monsters then it would greatly diminish their bond. The belts are what brought them together in the first place and they’re having too much fun together to let it fade away like that.

*Cavalry fails in V2. The Aldini Brothers become the 23rd NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Champions!

The Aldini Brothers have reclaimed the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles! The champions Cavalry almost won when Ryota Nakatsu hit a Sliding Kick to Takumi Tsukamoto. However Isami Kodaka stopped the pin with the Diving Double Knee Drop. Tsukamoto slipped out of the V Slider and gave Nakatsu the Tiger Suplex for the pin. Kodaka said described winning the belts from Cavalry made the victory even more meaningful. Tsukamoto said that together he and Kodaka will raise the prestige of the titles and also of BASARA.

Court was in session for the latest of Gouma Ryu’s Pro Wrestling Trials. Konaka = Pale One of all people took the case seriously. Gone was his ghostly facepaint and replacing them were a pair of glasses an a tie. He was the prosecutor accusing Mammoth Handa of faking an injury to avoid wrestling at a show last August. Ryu argued that Handa is passionate about pro wrestling but Kodaka told him he’s never seen Honda at practice. Tomoya Hasegawa was called to the ring as a witness. Kodaka noticed that he was wearing women’s underwear beneath his regular clothing. Hasegawa explained he borrowed his sister’s underwear because his own went missing. He then said Handa missed the show in August because of a traffic accident. But as he talked about this he accidentally revealed that he was driving to a Stardom show that day instead of the other show. Everyone attacked Hasegawa and piled on top of him for the pin. Hasegawa was then declared guilty.

DDT is considering lifting its ban of fan recordings at its live shows. A trial run will take place at the Nerima show. Fans in attendance will be allowed to record video as long as they film just the matches (no entrances because of music rights). Fans can only use phones (no tablets or cameras) that are held below eye level and nobody is allowed to deliberately film other people in the audience. Depending on results and feedback DDT will experiment with these rules as time goes on.

Soma Takao now finds himself as the hottest free agent in DDT. Units all around are falling over themselves to sign him so a 6 Way Match will determine where he goes. Whoever wins will have their unit recruit Soma. If Soma himself wins he gets to choose who to join, which is most likely Smile Squash. But T2Hide and NωA badly want him. That’s not all, Rekka wants Soma to be the ace of his home promotion New Taiwan Pro Wrestling. T2Hide promises to make him their leader. NωA want him because he has a higher singing voice that none of the other members have. Last but not least, Saki Akai wants Soma to sign with the Oscar Promotion talent agency. Akai calls Oscar the largest unit in the wrestling world.

Kotatsu was asked to comment on its Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title defence but it kept silent.

Akane Miura announced today on her 20th birthday that she will be graduating from Tokyo Joshi Pro on 25th March. Miura was given an offer to go back to senior high school in April and she wishes to complete her education. She is unable to wrestle and concentrate on her studies at the same time so she had to make a decision. She had previously dropped out of high school but desired to return and thinks now is the perfect time in her life to do it. When she graduates in four years time she’ll consider returning to pro wrestling. She will continue to fight hard until her final match. Her next opponent is Maho Kurone who was upset to hear the news. One of the reasons Kurone came to Tokyo Joshi was to eat Miura. Now that Miura is leaving, Kurone promises she will only eat her hair and eyeballs.

There was even more sad news today. Azusa Takigawa and Nonoko were told to stop using issues of Zexy Magazine as a weapon in their matches. Zexy’s editorial department got in contact with Tokyo Joshi over the gimmick. While they appreciate having Konkatsu-gun as regular readers, they do not like their magazine being used as a weapon. 3. NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Title Challengers Decision Battle: Isami Kodaka & Takumi Tsukamoto defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & SAGAT when Kodaka pinned SAGAT with a Rolling Leg Clutch (13:29).
4. Trans-Am ★ Challenge: Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi defeated Daichi Kazato with the Perfect 5 (8:34).
5. NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles: Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu (c) defeated Ikuto Hidaka & Sean Guinness when Sekine submitted Guinness with the Let’s Combine (24:17).

Cavalry successfully fended off the outsider team of Ikuto Hidaka & Sean Guinness to keep the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles around their waists. Guinness tried to pin Ryuichi Sekine with a Hurricanrana but it was countered into the Let’s Combine, forcing Guinness to tap out. Ikuto Hidaka accepted defeat on this day but warned Sekine that the next time he is in BASARA he will leave as the winner. He reminded everyone that he and Dick Togo were the first NWA Light Tag Champions. So they will team up again to win back the titles! The Brothers Aldini then came down to the ring. They are the current No. 1 Contenders after beating Hiroshi du Soleil earlier in the show. Both they and the champions are now motivated even more knowing that the winners of their match next week have Hidaka and Togo waiting for them.

That wasn’t the end of it though. FUMA interrupted the closing speeches yelling “HELL! HELL! HELL AND HELL!” He confronted Sekine for their upcoming Union MAX Title match on 20th February. Sekine said he hadn’t forgotten about it. FUMA insulted Sekine’s shaved head, saying it is nothing like Anthrax member Scott Ian’s sophisticated skinned head. Sekine told FUMA that by the end of the month he will become a double champion, the King of Two Crowns!

Higuchi was more polite. Being in the presence of Akebono is enough encouragement to withstand whatever Yuji Okabayashi throws at him. Akebono warned Yoshimura to respect him or be crushed.

Cavalry strikes gold! They defeated The Aldini Brothers to win the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles. Victory came when Ryuichi Sekine put Takumi Tsukamoto into the Let’s Combine. Isami Kodaka tried to cut him off but Ryota Nakatsu got rid of him by using the V Slider. Sekine applied more pressure to Tsukamoto until he gave up. Nakatsu complimented Sekine on his submission hold then admitted he cried when the bell rang and Sekine’s music started playing. Sekine brought up Kodaka’s speech from Friday about having to beat him more than once to become BASARA’s ace. Sekine invited Kodaka to try and win the belts back but warned him that he and Nakatsu will destroy him on their way to the top of BASARA!

It seemed like IRON PRIEST were making a new friend out of HUB. He joined in with their heavy metal posing after the match until he suddenly whipped FUMA with the long tail from his mask. HUB then admitted he can’t get along with those kind of people.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi warned his Osaka opponents about his and SAGAT’s devastating double team move, the Space SAGAT Torpedo 2. Although really he was trying to promote the T-shirts of the move that were on sale over by the merch stand. He then launched a surprise attack of the move with SAGAT but Tsubasa & Billy Ken Kid easily avoided it. SAGAT went for the Goregrind on on Kid but was stopped with a High Kick and pinned with La Espida. Both Tsubasa & Kid were confused over what there opponents were meant to be. They were expecting foreigners. I guess Hiroshi counts as one.
