Before the main event began MAO told Chris Brookes that the days of settling things in the ring are over. Today is the beginning of the era of outside the ring brawling! MAO showed what he meant by bringing out a kick scooter and using it to chase his opponents around ringside. Unfortunately the venue floor was covered in judo mats and MAO crashed his scooter by tripping over the edge of one. MAO then continued fighting with Brookes around the building including on top of a high pile of mats they found in a corner of the room. The two of them were at risk of getting counted out but the match was decided when Yuki Ueno used Cara Noir’s finisher the Blackout Sleeper on Takeshi Masada. Ueno then turned the move into the Twister hold to make Masada submit in the ring.

After the match MAO challenged Brookes to have their upcoming singles match on Wednesday take place completely outside of the ring! Brookes suggested the match should have a 30 count or even a 40 count for being outside. A fed up Yukinori Matsui told them a 10 count or even a 5 count is too long for them so they might as well make it a 3 count. MAO and Brookes both loved the idea and surprisingly agreed to it! Their match on Wednesday only needs 3 seconds outside the ring to make it end in a countout.

BURNING still has a misfiring problem. During Tetsuya Endo’s match with Akito the two of them fought on the ring apron with Yuki Iino standing nearby. Akito kicked Iino from the apron and lured him into a charge. Iino tried to swipe Akito’s legs with a Lariat but Akito hopped over him and Iino ended up clipping Endo by the feet instead. Endo recovered to beat Akito and he forgave Iino after the match. He figured out it was Akito’s strategy to make that happen so it wasn’t entirely Iino’s fault. Maybe it’s 30% or 40% his fault but that’s it. Endo’s solution is to have them switch things up so they can start building up momentum as the KO-D Tag Team Champions.

Yesterday Daisuke Sasaki declared he is moving on from the KO-D Tag Titles scene and will no longer lose any singles matches. He lived up to the claim by beating Makoto Oishi today but he still needed interference from KANON & MJ Paul to pull it off.

Yoshitatsu is one of Jack Kennedy’s mentors and praised him for fighting hard against Yukio Naya. He would like to face him again whether it is in DDT or anywhere else. Sanshiro Takagi said they should do that match in the Nagoya Dome!

The last time Shunma Katsumata and Hideki Okatani fought for the Extreme Title, Katsumata won the match but also fractured a bone in his foot. That forced him to vacate the title. Ever since then both he and Okatani dreamed of having a rematch with the same championship on the line. That has now become a reality after Okatani became the No. 1 Contender this week. Katsumata said he will come up with a match stipulation that both of them will approve of.

Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino are the new KO-D Tag Team Champions and want to defend the belts against anyone no matter where they come from. Well here comes Ryuki Honda & Yuma Anzai from AJPW! They had fun wrestling in DDT earlier this week that they want to fight in DDT even more and against stronger opponents. Endo & Iino promised to show them just how much depth DDT has.

Before GanPro goes independent, Ken Ohka must fight his soon to be ex-boss Sanshiro Takagi! Ohka feels the need to face Takagi and defeat him in the first step towards making GanPro grow bigger than DDT. For Takagi this is the biggest test he can give Ohka to see if he will handle his upcoming responsibilities with all of his effort. If Ohka does this half-heartedly then Takagi will destroy him and that could mean DDT will destroy GanPro too!

The novelty of TAKA Michinoku being on the show has now gotten awkward. A few days ago he announced a K-DOJO tribute show scheduled for April after seemingly being inspired by the Arsion reunion that took place earlier this month. That by itself is a crazy idea due to TAKA’s role in why K-DOJO went away in the first place. He had a scandal in 2018 when it was discovered he was cheating on his wife along with allegations of other kinds of bad behavior. TAKA then left the company early in 2019, taking his students with him and establishing JTO a few months later. With him gone, K-DOJO rebranded/rebuilt itself into 2AW and the split was complete. The response to TAKA’s plans for the reunion got mixed reactions online. There was enough of a negative response to make him reconsider and put the concept on ice for the time being. If that wasn’t enough, retired wrestler Tank Nagai then started tweeting about his memories of working under TAKA’s management in K-DOJO. A lot of it was bad. So now we have to see if the bad vibes from this story follows over to TAKA’s appearance in DDT this Sunday.

The debut match for Kaisei Takechi on 25th February will be announced during this show.

The latest medical woes in the DDT locker room comes from Yusuke Okada. Just like what happened to Chris Brookes last month, Okada discovered he has a tumour in his lower abdomen and will need surgery to remove it. He will be out of action for a while. Toru Owashi is replacing him on tomorrow’s show.

Contract signings for some of the upcoming title matches will be held in the ring before the show begins. Signings will take place for the the DDT Universal Title match happening on Sunday and the KO-D Openweight Title match and DDT Extreme Title match both happening on 28th January.

Here comes Riara’s best chance so far at getting her first win. Kizuna Tanaka is a young wrestler from WAVE whose parents are Minoru Tanaka and Yumi Fukawa. She debuted around the same time Riara did last year so they should be seen on a similar level reputation wise. However in the time going from debut up to now Tanaka has wrestled in at least double the amount of matches that Riara has so she still has an experience advantage over her. Tanaka herself has yet to win a singles match too from what I could find about her.

He has made sporadic appearances around DDT a bunch of times through the years. Jack Kennedy is an American who has been with Yanagase Pro Wrestling since 2020. He’s been getting attention in the news this week for his debut acting role as an American soldier in the NHK historical drama “Boogie Woogie”.

The Aldini Brothers have reclaimed the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Titles! The champions Cavalry almost won when Ryota Nakatsu hit a Sliding Kick to Takumi Tsukamoto. However Isami Kodaka stopped the pin with the Diving Double Knee Drop. Tsukamoto slipped out of the V Slider and gave Nakatsu the Tiger Suplex for the pin. Kodaka said described winning the belts from Cavalry made the victory even more meaningful. Tsukamoto said that together he and Kodaka will raise the prestige of the titles and also of BASARA.

Court was in session for the latest of Gouma Ryu’s Pro Wrestling Trials. Konaka = Pale One of all people took the case seriously. Gone was his ghostly facepaint and replacing them were a pair of glasses an a tie. He was the prosecutor accusing Mammoth Handa of faking an injury to avoid wrestling at a show last August. Ryu argued that Handa is passionate about pro wrestling but Kodaka told him he’s never seen Honda at practice. Tomoya Hasegawa was called to the ring as a witness. Kodaka noticed that he was wearing women’s underwear beneath his regular clothing. Hasegawa explained he borrowed his sister’s underwear because his own went missing. He then said Handa missed the show in August because of a traffic accident. But as he talked about this he accidentally revealed that he was driving to a Stardom show that day instead of the other show. Everyone attacked Hasegawa and piled on top of him for the pin. Hasegawa was then declared guilty.

The match between Takafumi Ito and Tanomusaku Toba will now be contested under Punch Drunk Rules. Both men will compete wearing boxing gloves. Strikes are encouraged but throws and joint submissions are also allowed. The match will be fought for an unlimited number of 3 minute rounds until a winner is decided.

Ganbare☆Wrestling held tryouts earlier this week to find new talent to add to its roster. The auditions involved workouts, interviews and skill demonstrations. At the end Ken Ohka asked all of the trainees to line up and slap him across the face. Some hesitated but everyone did what they were told. All nine people passed the auditions and were invited to train at Ganpuro with the goal of debuting for them in the future. The person who caught the most attention was a 21 year old woman wearing a hockey mask named Nanaka Kawamura. She wants to become a pro wrestler because it was her mother’s dream to be one. Her mother was high school champion but was too short to turn professional so Kawamura wants to fulfil that dream for her.

DDT is considering lifting its ban of fan recordings at its live shows. A trial run will take place at the Nerima show. Fans in attendance will be allowed to record video as long as they film just the matches (no entrances because of music rights). Fans can only use phones (no tablets or cameras) that are held below eye level and nobody is allowed to deliberately film other people in the audience. Depending on results and feedback DDT will experiment with these rules as time goes on.

Soma Takao now finds himself as the hottest free agent in DDT. Units all around are falling over themselves to sign him so a 6 Way Match will determine where he goes. Whoever wins will have their unit recruit Soma. If Soma himself wins he gets to choose who to join, which is most likely Smile Squash. But T2Hide and NωA badly want him. That’s not all, Rekka wants Soma to be the ace of his home promotion New Taiwan Pro Wrestling. T2Hide promises to make him their leader. NωA want him because he has a higher singing voice that none of the other members have. Last but not least, Saki Akai wants Soma to sign with the Oscar Promotion talent agency. Akai calls Oscar the largest unit in the wrestling world.

Kotatsu was asked to comment on its Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title defence but it kept silent.

Akane Miura announced today on her 20th birthday that she will be graduating from Tokyo Joshi Pro on 25th March. Miura was given an offer to go back to senior high school in April and she wishes to complete her education. She is unable to wrestle and concentrate on her studies at the same time so she had to make a decision. She had previously dropped out of high school but desired to return and thinks now is the perfect time in her life to do it. When she graduates in four years time she’ll consider returning to pro wrestling. She will continue to fight hard until her final match. Her next opponent is Maho Kurone who was upset to hear the news. One of the reasons Kurone came to Tokyo Joshi was to eat Miura. Now that Miura is leaving, Kurone promises she will only eat her hair and eyeballs.

There was even more sad news today. Azusa Takigawa and Nonoko were told to stop using issues of Zexy Magazine as a weapon in their matches. Zexy’s editorial department got in contact with Tokyo Joshi over the gimmick. While they appreciate having Konkatsu-gun as regular readers, they do not like their magazine being used as a weapon. Konsho-gun apologised to the editors and readers of the magazine and promised not to use Zexy for anything other than its intended purpose. They will refrain from using it as a weapon. Both Azusa Takigawa & Nonoko were crying their eyes out as they apologised. Zexy was their bible and now they feel like they just ended a relationship. The team is now in crisis. If they are no longer allowed to use marriage information magazines then can they still be called Konkatsu-gun (Marriage Army)?

He didn’t care about Akebono’s sumo accomplishments and ran down Kazusada Higuchi for losing to Mike Bailey and Ryota Nakatsu late last year. He threatened to blow away anyone who stands in his path. Higuchi was more polite. Being in the presence of Akebono is enough encouragement to withstand whatever Yuji Okabayashi throws at him. Akebono warned Yoshimura to respect him or be crushed.
