Takao was among Kazuki Hirata’s first opponents during Hirata’s first month as a debuting rookie. That was around 16 and a half years ago. Here’s one more singles match between them for old time’s sake.

Last weekend Shoko Nakajima wrestled at a SETUP show in Thailand and beat Matcha to win the SETUP All Asia Women’s Title. Her first defence is set for “WRESTLE PRINCESS VII” against an opponent to be determined. It has been noted by TJPW that the challenger selection is not limited to Asia and it is possible Nakajima’s opponent could be from anywhere around the world. At this point in her career, Nakajima has become an accomplished wrestler who has competed worldwide and is ready to be tested by whoever TJPW or SETUP can find.

A few weeks back Naomi Yoshimura let everyone know that he asked DDT for to book a particular opponent for his 10th Anniversary match scheduled for October. DDT honored his request and it’s now been revealed his opponent is going to be Zeus! The Osaka strongman was the person who originally opened the doors for Yoshimura to get into pro wrestling through his bodybuilding gym. When Yoshimura graduated from high school, he trained under Zeus and credits him for turning his dream of becoming a pro wrestler into reality. Zeus has kept himself busy these past few years with running Osaka Pro, the company he was successfully able to revive back in 2022. He doesn’t wrestle outside of his home promotion that often so for DDT to get him on board for a match that means a lot to Yoshimura is quite a big deal.

6a. Emergency Match: Yuki Ueno, Chris Brookes, Kazuki Hirata & Hinata Kasai defeated Danshoku Dieno, Takeshi Masada, Daichi Sato & Yuni when Brookes pinned Dieno with a Piledriver in the Pool (7:56).
*Chris Brookes wins Danshoku Dieno’s Right To Challenge Anytime Anywhere Gauntlet.

DDT’s attempt at integrating the sober wrestlers into their Beer Garden show hit a bit of a setback. The KING OF “Non-Alcoholic” DRUNK match was put in the main event where the participants drank cola instead of beer whenever music was played. It was done this way because Daichi Sato and Yuni are not old enough to drink yet while Danshoku Dieno and Takeshi Masada had their own reasons not to spend the day drinking booze. The problem with this is everyone drank so much cola that they all felt too bloated to continue wrestling. All of the drunk wrestlers from the match before then entered the ring and got into an arguement, leading to an impromptu 8-Man Tag Match taking place between the beer drinkers and the cola drinkers.

During the match everyone forced each other to drink bottles of cola while they wrestled. The fighting moved out of the ring where Chris Brookes gave Dieno a cola filled Lip Lock before Piledriving him into a paddle pool full of water for the victory. Brookes has now won the Right To Challenge Anytime Anywhere Gauntlet but he was too drunk to figure out what to do. He knows MAO will be defending the KO-D Openweight Title against Sato soon but thinks Sato will win and then he can cash in the title shot on him. Something to also keep in mind is that Antonio Honda won the Right To Challenge Anytime Anywhere Anytime Anywhere Gauntlet from KANON earlier in the show. Both Gauntlets are active until 27th September.

The Crocodile Death Match again brought back bad memories for Daisuke Sasaki. There was a crocodile sighting that happened at Shakujii Park in Nerima back in 1993 and the incident seems to have scarred him for life. He couldn’t sleep last night and was too sleep deprived to wrestle so he was replaced in the match by Crocodile D Sasa. However as the match progressed Sasa was eventually stripped out of his costume and was revealed to be Daisuke Sasaki all along!

Junta Miyawaki was all business for his match because he is getting ready to defend the KO-D Tag Team Titles soon. After his match he sent a message out to Rukiya, telling him to get better so they can have their title match together as originally planned. He isn’t going to take his new opponents Dieno or Kazuki Hirata lightly because he is well aware of how important they both are to DDT. If they get serious then Miyawaki knows he and Shinya Aoki will not be getting an easy defence.

The show opening Rock ‘N’ Roll Death Match ended up with Shunma Katsumata and Kazuma Sumi doing some light Danshoku Dieno spots with To-y. Katsumata gave him a Lip Lock so Sumi could roll him over into a Gaydo Clutch for the pin. Then as the team celebrated their win, Katsumata gave Sumi the Lip Lock and then pinned him with the Gaydo Clutch to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title.

There was a KO-D Title match contract signing for MAO and Daichi Sato before any of the matches began. Sato said he is not anxious or scared at all about the match. In fact, his anticipation and excitement grows as every day gets closer to 30th August. He is extremely confident he can beat MAO and become the youngest KO-D Champion ever. MAO wants his title reign to be free spirited so he isn’t going to talk down his challenger just because of his age. While Sato is having his last summer vacation as a high school student, MAO is having his last summer in his 20s so he wants this to be a summer neither will ever forget.

There is going to be a Princess Tag Team Titles match going on at “WRESTLE PRINCESS VII” next month but no clear contenders have emerged due to everybody focusing on the Tokyo Princess Cup. A 3 Way Tag has been put together to solve that problem. Two of the three teams are already established. That’s K!SS// and Shunrai Rekka!! Prism Greed. The third team are the wild cards of HIMAWARI & Toga, the two young wrestlers who both reached the Princess Cup semi finals this year.

Tokyo Joshi Pro is welcoming another Australian wrestler for a show and she’s already a “Lil” familiar with the brand. Marz is from Brisbane but has been wrestling around the world this year. That includes a tag match she had with Toga in Las Vegas during WrestleMania Week. She’s already in Japan and has been wrestling plenty for Ice Ribbon lately but this is going to be her TJPW debut.

Time is ticking away for the Anytime Anywhere Anytime Anywhere Gauntlet to be used. If KANON waits too long it may end up becoming too late to use it. While he has that to worry about, he will also have to defend it against Antonio Honda.

The upcoming Korakuen Hall show has some changes, the most important of which applies to the KO-D Tag Team Titles bout. Rukiya has been diagnosed with acute pharyngitis and acute tonsillitis so DDT has pulled him from their shows up until early September. That means his title match with Jun Akiyama against Shinya Aoki & Junta Miyawaki has to be cancelled. In response to this announcement, both Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata have offered to step in on short notice on behalf of Rukiya because he recently passed the audition to join the DDT Variety Team (without ever taking part because he is ill) and become their new ace (which he might be completely unaware of). Dieno has even upped the ante by claiming the Variety Team will disband if they lose! Hirata also happens to be fishing buddies with Rukiya away from wrestling so he is motivated to catch a belt-sized trophy for his buddy.

The new tag title match has a knock on effect on the rest of the card beneath it. Jun Akiyama will now be taking part in a different tag match, teaming up with Fuminori Abe. That means Abe is no longer involved in the Smile Squash 8-Man Tag match built around Soma Takao. Abe’s spot is now taken up by Kazuma Sumi making his team now an all D GENERATIONS affair. Viento Levante gets bumped out of the dark match to take Sumi’s place in the 3 Way trios match and Tomomitsu Matsunaga is added to the dark match to make everything look neat and tidy.

Taking a page from Michinoku Pro’s annual Great Space War, DDT tried doing a Ring Removal Death Match for the first time today. From the moment the bell rang, a cleanup crew of wrestlers all began to deconstruct the ring while the actual match participants tried to fight each other without getting in the way. The environment became more dangerous as the match progressed because the ring got more bare. Danshoku Dieno tried to put the ring back together then started arguing with the cleanup crew, causing Akito to add a new rule. The crew would be paid double for the day and be treated to an all you can eat meal if they could complete the deconstruction before the match ends! Also the match was now Falls Count Anywhere because the fighting was breaking out into the audience anyway. The ring was taken down to just one last corner post but when Yuya Koroku directed everyone to carry it out, a mystery figure appeared and knocked him out with a hammer. It was Kazuki Hirata and he pinned Koroku to win back the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title! With no ring left, Dieno had to resort to giving Yuni the Danshoku Driver onto a pile of beer cans nearby to win the match. His team was rewarded with a year long exemption from being in the cleanup crew for DDT events held inside Ueno Park.

News came on short notice that Daisuke Sasaki would not be at the show today. Overnight he remembered a news story from 1993 about a crocodile being sighted at Shakujii Park in Nerima Ward. He thought about it all night and didn’t get enough sleep to be able to wrestle today. His replacement was Crocodile D Sasa but the costume was eventually ripped off to reveal it was Sasaki all along. The match itself had Strange Love Connection and DAMNATION T.A all fighting each other around rubber pools filled with inflatable crocodiles. Hideki Okatani briefly disappeared only to return with somebody dressed in a horse costume. That was somehow the difference maker.

There were other Iron Man Title changes that happened earlier on the show. Daichi Sato rolled up his partner Koroku and got a three count but because he was also holding Bunbun at the time, Yukinori Matsui declared it was Bunbun who pinned Koroku and was now the champion! Antonio Honda later fought Bunbun during the actual match and pinned the puppet with the Tenzan Tombstone Driver. Koroku then submitted Honda to win back the belt and held onto it until Hammer Hirata’s attack during the main event.

Rukiya was in the corner coaching and cheering on Hinata Kasai for Kasai’s match with Yuki Ueno. Sadly it did not result in Kasai getting his first victory. At the end of the show Kasai and Rukiya looked like they were going to fight each other but instead they embraced and bowed to the fans.

For the fourth time in six years MAO has run over his boss Sanshiro Takagi with a van! The first of this week’s Beer Garden shows featured a wild Falls Count Anywhere main event that included Jun Akiyama crashing a bicycle into a castle made of chairs, the above mentioned MAO driving a vehicle into Takagi and To-y falling off the top of a ladder in shock of seeing the car accident. That last bit cost his the match because it let HARASHIMA hit him with the Somato aftwards for the victory.

Takagi got so mad at MAO over what happened that his anger spread over to the officiating. He can no longer trust any of the referees so his match with MAO on 28th June will now become a No Referee Match! MAO was confused as Takagi tried to figure out on the spot what that means. It means it will now be up to the audience to count the pinfalls and determine the winner! MAO loves the idea because he’s not sure if he and Takagi will ever have another singles match after this again. He can now go all out without worrying about any referees trying to stop him, because the fans certainly won’t.

Junta Miyawaki isn’t the only wrestler in DDT who embodies the sunshine. Shunma Katsumata proved it by dressing up like what he imagines a “Sunshine Hero” would look like.

The team captains in Match #4 had to drink an entire beverage every time somebody on their team was caught committing a foul. Hinata Kasai and Ilusion were the two captains but the ever so selfless Yuki Ishida helped Kasai with some of the drinks. MJ Paul meanwhile force fed Kasai a drink to send him to his drunk breaking point. Ilusion was still measured enough to do the Swanton Bomb and then win the match.

Exact phrasing along with the rules being taken literally made Yuya Koroku lose his match. He had Kazuki Hirata trapped in an Arm Bar and spoke on the microphone that he would make Hirata give up. However he made it sound like he was giving up instead, which Yukinori Matsui took literally so Hirata was declared the winner and still the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. But since the championship is defended 24/7, Koroku attacked Hirata after the match and made him give up to the Triangle Lancer to become the new champ.

Hisaya Imabayashi pulled his back recently and wasn’t in the best condition to complain about Match #2 ending too quickly. A cure was unexpectedly found when Antonio Honda used Danshoku Dieno’s rear to charge up Gongitsune. The attack then hit Imabayashi right in the point of his injury and made the back pain go away! Now he’s as fit as a fiddle but he was thrown face first into Dieno’s Hell Gate anyway.

I haven’t been paying attention to Up Town but Kuroshio TOKYO Japan has been quietly building up a neat little roster for himself over there. When he launched the promotion he said he wanted it to be like a small ramen shop that attracts a long line and that just sounds like a lovely place to carve out for himself in the wrestling world. Saito is one of the new wrestlers to debut from Up Town and she is making her Super Japan debut here. Despite having less than a year of experience she is actually pretty active thanks to working on Ice Ribbon and WAVE shows in between Up Town events.

The match between Thanomsak Toba and Mac Matsuhita will be held under the rounds system with five rounds lasting three minutes each being the plan.

Some international action on the undercard with MBM from Belgium taking on Miles Karu from Malaysia.

There is just so much energy coming out of Sanshiro Takagi with his return to the ring and he wants to use it against someone he hasn’t fought in a singles match in a while. The last time Takagi fought MAO one on one was in New York back in 2019 (ignoring the Baka Gaijin + Friends universe where Takagi Sanshirobo fought Tyrannosaurus Inoue).

We have one more Minoru Suzuki appearance to wrap up the King Of DDT arc. Too bad for him he has to go team up with Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata.

The Dropkick Bar is being well represented for Soma Takao’s comeback match. He along with Naomi Yoshimura, Yukio Naya and Yuki Ishida all work there in one form or another.

Okay so whenever Michinoku Pro does their Great Space War what usually happens is the ring gets deconstructed as the match progresses. There’s also been a couple of times when Big Japan have done a death match where the ring is stripped bare of all its padding so the ring is pretty much close to dismantled anyway. I think this is going to be the first time DDT is trying out the gimmick for a match and it’s going to be during a time when a lot people will be drunk. What could go wrong?

CIMA got to team up with Yuji Nagata at the last Super Japan show so now he wants to face him one on one for the first time since they met in WCW almost three decades ago.

The goal of Ken Ohka ever since he launched Ganbare☆Pro was to do his part in turning pro wrestling into a major sport. That includes livening up the wrestling scene whatever way he can. He currently thinks a lot of the other indies are not doing the same so he threw out a challenge to Hayabusa from ZERO1 to help create a spark.

SUPER JAPAN “A PRO WRESTLING SHOW WITHOUT A NAME”, 27/05/2026

1. Shota defeated Miles Karu with the Frog Splash (7:23).
2. Special Single Match: Pero Pero Oyakata defeated Da Pump Matsumoto with the Ultimate Pero Pero Driver (7:58).
3. Marika Kobashi & Matsuzawa-san defeated Non Toraga & Riara when Kobashi pinned Riara with the Sliding Guillotine (9:56).
4. Ken Ohka & Mac Matsushita defeated Thanomsak Toba & Hyo Ogawa when Ohka pinned Ogawa with the Spear Of Flame (9:21).
5. Special Tag Match: Satoshi Kojima & Ippanjin Munenori Sawa defeated Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei when Kojima pinned Kei with the Lariat (14:07).
6. Special Tag Match: “Blue Hebi Justice” Yuji Jagata & CIMA defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Poison Sawada JULIE when CIMA pinned Takagi with the Meteora (12:16).

On the day when New Japan changed ownership and created a shift in power across the pro wrestling scene, Super Japan went ahead and held their latest show with Yuji Nagata getting caught up in DDT hijinks. At the start of the show Nagata joined Sanshiro Takagi and advisor Masayuki Uchida to celebrate the fan voted continuation of Super Japan with a toast of energy drinks. However when they all drank it, Poison Sawada JULIE came out and revealed he swapped out Nagata’s drink with an extract of snake magic! Nagata collapsed in the ring and was taken back to the locker room to get help while Takagi suddenly wrapped up Uchida in tape and kidnapped him under JULIE’s orders!

It was all going according to plan for JULIE. He formed a new alliance with Takagi after being enemies with him in DDT for years and now had Nagata under his control. CIMA had to fight all three of them by himself in the main event with Nagata having fully transformed into a Snake Magic version called “Blue Hebi Justice” Yuji Jagata. Uchida was able to free himself backstage and used a mirror to reflect a spell back at JULIE. He also fed Nagata an antitode that gradually returned him back to normal. Nagata used the powers of his Salute pose to fight off JULIE’s magic while CIMA pinned Takagi with the Meteora to win the match. CIMA then brought up the match he had with Nagata in WCW 29 years ago. He was only 19 years old and 2 months into his career back then. He was dominated into defeat and has wanted a rematch ever since so he challenged Nagata to a singles match on 6th July! Nagata said he has no reason to refuse so he will give CIMA his all at the next Super Japan show.

In a moment that came and went in a blink of an eye, Kota Ibushi was seen standing at the entrance way waiting for Takagi after the main event. He reached out to Takagi and helped him walk to the back. Ibushi has not been seen on a DDT related event since his falling out with the company back in October 2024.

Having a pro wrestling career that spans across 35 years means you get to see a lot of different things happen. Satoshi Kojima used that sort of knowledge to help him fight off The Brahman Brothers. It helped that Munenori Sawa sacrificed himself by jumping in the way of an Ink Mist spot. By that point Kojima knew the plan was to fight as if he was a Brahman Brother himself. He suddenly started spewing out orange ink and used it to blind his opponents before beating them with the Lariat. Sawa was impressed to see first hand how Kojima can handle anything that gets thrown his way. Kojima though said he has no memory of what happened during the match. The Brahman Brothers were also amazed by Kojima and talked about wanting to team up with him next time just like they did with Nagata before.

Ken Ohka wants to do his bit to liven up Super Japan and came up with a big idea for a match to do on a future show. However neither Takagi nor Uchida were around after his match to hear about it. He had to wait until after the show to find Uchida and tell him he wanted to fight Hayabusa! Uchida agreed to book the match for 7th July.
