Some of the wrestlers experienced mixed fortunes with results going one way in the ring and then the other when the gambled on the boat races. Jun Akiyama & Shunma Katsumata won in the main event but their racing bets for the finale all did terrible. However, Yuya Koroku and Masami Inahata lost their matches but won some cash anyway with some successful wagers they put on throughout the day.

Tomorrow’s Tokyo Joshi Pro show is for their fan club and will be filled with different comedy matches. Everyone in the main event will be wrestling in another person’s costume. The international crew return to Japan all facing each other in a wrestling version of Blind Man’s Bluff. A Rumble match you would normally see on a “Premium Live Event” somewhere else has somehow ended up here. There will be a few other surprises in store. For example, Fumirin will be reading the pre-show announcements to everyone while speaking in a Kansai accent. There is also a secret musical segment scheduled for somewhere on the show.

Yuji Nagata is sticking around as the Super Japan ace and is even donating an event booking he had in his pocket to let this show take place in the same venue. He will team up with CIMA, forming “WCW’s Strongest Tag Team” for the occasion. Now that sounds like a WCW… Deep… Cut… in the making.

To-y revealed he is a part of the DDT Boat Racing Club so today meant he got to combine two of the things he loves most, boat racing and pro wrestling.

Catching Up On DDT

Big plans are in store for Kaisei Takechi’s next couple of matches in DDT. First up he and HARASHIMA will be teaming up to face the mighty team of Konosuke Takeshita & Jun Akiyama! This is the strongest pair of wrestlers DDT could find for Takechi and he appreciates being given such a tough challenge.

The newcomer Junta Miyawaki is quickly getting the kind of matches he’s been looking for in DDT. Someone he always wanted to wrestle is Shinya Aoki after being a fan of his since his middle school days. He has studied many of Aoki’s fighting techniques and just making the challenge has impressed Aoki with his ambition.

After a four month absence to deal with injuries, Yoshihiko returns to the ring hopefully feeling refreshed and having a new lease on life. Good thing it will be teaming with Minoru Suzuki and not against him.

3. Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda & Takeshi Masada defeated Yuki Ueno, Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata when Brookes submitted Hirata after Hirata was unable to stand the smell of Brookes’s hands from Dieno’s Hell Gate (12:18).

The preliminary qualifiers for the Tokyo Princess Cup have reached a bump in the road due to illnesses and injuries so three matches are happening at this show instead of two.

Both Hyper Misao and Kira Summer have been cleared to return. Summer won’t be having her delayed qualifier match just yet though. She and Misao will both be part of a 6-Woman Tag to shake off any ring rust they picked up over the last month.

Yuki Arai and Mifu Ashida are both missing the show because of schedule conflicts.

This is supposed to be Haruna Neko’s homecoming show but she cannot wrestle due to injury. She will still be there and a special event will be held for her after the show ends.

MMA fighters have historically overpowered pro wrestlers in Japan so Imanari’s title run might be facing its biggest threat yet.

As a special bonus, Nao Kakuta will appear on the show as the special referee for Match #4. She has ties with Tae Honma, Miyuki Takase and Yoshiko Hasegawa. She’s also had many matches with Kaya Toribami over the years so Toribami shouldn’t be treated like the odd one out.

Interesting early matchup for Ren Konatsu. The agility she has already shown goes hand in hand with Shoko Nakajima’s wrestling style.
