What was supposed to be a fun day at Tokorozawa Park Town for Ganbare☆Pro has turned into a bit of an emergency because they have lost one of their championships to a rival organization! Ryota Nakatsu & Takumi Tsukamoto from BASARA have brought an end to Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase’s title reign but plans were quickly put in place for GanPro to launch at rescue mission. After the main event Keisuke Ishii said he will go win the Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles back and he will do it with either Yumehito Imanari or Shinichiro Tominaga as his tag partner. However Shota Kawakami stepped up and pleaded to team with Ishii, claiming he would have beaten him today with the Fisherman Buster if Ishii’s teammates didn’t come break the pin. Ishii asked the crowd for their opinion and their chants for Kawakami convinced him to make a decision. Michiyoshi Mishima told the pair to go get his championships back and Kawakami even suggested he can take one of the BASARA titles in the process! Meanwhile the new champs are inviting GanPro fans to come see BASARA because they think BASARA is more fun.

When Match #2 spilt to the outside, Aja Kong went over to the shop sponsoring the show Fresh Ariyama and grabbed some of their produce to attack her opponents with.

Back in March former Dragon Gate wrestler Kotoka reemerged after a multiple year long absence away from the ring to be a part of Kazuki Hirata’s 15th Anniversary show. Then he sort of disappeared again but now he’s back to wrestle on a Super Japan show. Wrestling hasn’t been his priority in years because he has a career managing many, many gyms across Tokyo and Osaka (he currently has 24 gyms according to his Instagram account) so he is now going to use the name Gym Leader Kotoka, at least for this match. Kotoka will be part of a “Dragon Gene” tag team with Mac Matsushita to take on the super indie tag team of monk wrestler Fuminori Abe and Filipino wrestler Bryan Ishizaka.

It’s all new champions across Tokyo Joshi Pro and two of them have defences lined up for the October Korakuen Hall show. Miu Watanabe is putting the newly won Princess Of Princess Title on the line against Yuki Aino in order to see how much passion Aino can bring to the match.

Yuna Manase & Toga were already the next challengers for the Princess Tag Team Titles and now they will face Ober Eats instead of Kyoraku Kyomei. The dynamic to watch out for here is how Yuki Kamifuku and Yuna Manase will fight each other. They used to team together as Cat’s Pye and one of Kamifuku’s failed attempts to win the tag titles came from that team.

Both shows will have around 4 or 5 matches each.

1. Yuna Manase & YuuRI defeated Moeka Haruhi & HARUKAZE when YuuRI pinned HARUKAZE with the Swanton Bomb (11:30).
2. Ken Ohka, Shuichiro Katsumura & Yumehito Imanari defeated Mizuki Watase, Munetatsu Nakamura & Shota Kawakami when Imanari pinned Kawakami with the Lariat (25:07).
3. Yuji Nagata defeated Keisuke Ishii with the Nagata Lock 54 (14:57).

Keisuke Ishii got to have a special one-off match with Yuji Nagata today. It was a match Ishii wanted to have before he turns 40 early next year. He came close to winning with the Double Arm Driver but Nagata kicked out. Nagata fought back with an Exploder Suplex but Ishii returned fire with the Kneel Kick for the double down spot. Nagata got up first and soon trapped Ishii in the Nagata Lock II. He then switched over to the latest version of the move called the Nagata Lock 54 (it combines the Nagata Lock II with Shinjiro Otani’s King Cobra Hold). Ishii couldn’t fight out of it and had to tap out.

Nagata praised everyone in Ganbare☆Pro for fighting with passion as hot as the summer heat. He’ll never forget the cheers he got today at Tokorozawa Park Town because they sounded just as loud as the cheers you would get for a main event in the Tokyo Dome. Ishii told Nagata he became a fan of his ever since 1998 when he saw his match against Scott Norton for the IWGP Heavyweight Title. But Ishii cannot forget he is currently the Spirit Of Ganbare World Champion so he cannot get emotional over losing today’s match. He will set a new goal of getting stronger so he will one day beat Nagata. The two of them are open to having a rematch in the future.

Ishii is only a few months away from turning 40 years old so he asked Ganbare☆Pro to get him a big name opponent to mark the end of the final summer in his 30’s. They pulled off a big one because Ishii’s opponent is Yuji Nagata from New Japan! It is a non-title match but Ishii knows he cannot lose while he is the Spirit Of Ganbare Champion. The match is happening at an outdoor show at Tokorozawa Park Town so fingers crossed there will not be any bad weather on the day.

Last weekend Yuna Manase had a rocky trip to America that ended in joy. She was scheduled for two Kitsune shows but could only make the second date due to travel issues. However it all worked out for her in the end because she won her 3 Way Match and became the new Kitsune World Champion! This should be her first match back in GanPro since winning the title.

The annual Tokorozawa Park Town outdoor show turned into a big day for Munetatsu Nakamura. He pulled off a big dive from a railing above the ring onto everyone below. Then with the help of Tatsuhito Takaiwa & Mizuki Watase he pinned Keisuke Ishii to get the win for his team! The main event is now sponsored by Nivea. They have done a few sponsorship deals with CyberFight events every now and then thanks to Saki Akai. A few years ago she tweeted about what her skincare routine looks like as a pro wrestler which included the use of Nivea products. The tweet went viral, the company saw it and the two parties made contact with each other to do some business together.

In an interview on DDT’s website, Akai brought up the reasons why she chose the wrestlers in her main event. Her and Shoko Nakajima debuted around the same time and actually trained together despite Akai belonging to DDT and Nakajima being attached to the still in development Tokyo Joshi Pro. Akai knows how much TJPW separates itself from the rest of the joshi scene so she wanted to see Nakajima experience what it is like to wrestle with people from other promotions. Rina Yamashita is Akai’s favourite wrestler to have matches with, either as partners or opponents. She is excited to see where Yamashita’s career will go next. When Akai briefly got to wrestle in Stardom back in 2014, Takumi Iroha was the only person in the locker room to greet her. Akai became a fan of hers over the years and wanted to be in the same ring with her. Maya Yukihi is somebody Akai credits for making her the wrestler she is today because of how many times they wrestled each other in the first half of last year. Last but not least, Akai calls Asuka a genius who everyone can see is strong but also works very hard. Akai thinks the atmosphere created in her matches is wonderful and that she has everything important needed to be a wrestler.

All Japan wrestler Suwama told Tokyo Sports yesterday he will be attending this show in order to confront Jun Akiyama. Back in 2017 Suwama took part in an Explosion Death Match with Atsushi Onita. Akiyama was the AJPW president at the time and he criticised Suwama for taking part in the match. So when Suwama heard about Akiyama accepting a challenge from Onita to take part in a similar death match next month, it drove him mad. Suwama is even blaming his failure to win the Triple Crown a few days ago on Akiyama’s hypocritical decision. He got himself a ticket for Korakuen Hall this Sunday to see where the old man Akiyama has been isolating himself all this time.

The show was deemed a success by Ken Ohka and Keisuke Ishii. Ohka sees it as Ganbare☆Pro taking another step towards becoming a major sport promotion. It made Ishii feel glad he is a pro wrestler and happy to be a part of Ganpro.

Yumehito Imanari held a beer tasting “practice” at the end of the show to prepare for his Spirit Of Ganbare Title defence against Hartley Jackson. He did a blind taste test but ended it after he got the first beer wrong. Imanari was left worried that his failure today will lead to dark clouds forming over his title match on 3rd September. Even if it does, he promised the fans he will beat Jackson for them.

Yuki Kanzaki was originally an indie wrestler who turned into an All Japan trainee around 2017. However his official debut never took place due to hematoma and he left the company. After a year of recovery he became a stage actor and performed for MAKAI, eventually becoming affiliated with the project. He returned to pro wrestling in November of last year and spends time juggling between both roles.

Akiyama also thinks the opening match is important because it gets the audience excited for the rest of the show. That is why he is sticking Yusuke Okada in that spot with Yuya Koroku.

It was announced today that the DDT General Manager Hisaya Imabayashi will be leaving his job at CyberFight at the end of the year due to family reasons. His parents live in Fukuoka and he is spending more to take care of them. The amount of time needed to travel from Tokyo to Fukuoka on a regular basis makes it difficult to continue his full time responsibilities with CyberFight. However he will continue to appear in DDT from time to time and has not made a decision yet on whether or not to keep his GM role.

In response to this news Muscle Sakai decided that next month’s series of Hiragana Muscle performances will be the last for the brand. The Muscle name may come back in the future (they still have a date for 2030 on the schedule) in a new form. It is all up to Sakai and whatever new ideas he can come up with.

The semi-main event has more intrigue added to it now that Shinya Aoki possesses the Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere NFT. He was able to set up an account and DDT successfully transferred the NFT over to it. However he now has to defend it in every match he is a part of until he cashes in the title shot. Minoru Suzuki or Yukio Sakaguchi could suddenly find themselves with the perfect shortcut towards becoming champion if they directly beat Aoki.

Kid Lykos is the newest guest coming over to DDT! The British wrestler is best known for being Chris Brookes’ partner in crime when they teamed together across the world as CCK. The team went away when Lykos retired due to injuries and Brookes moved to Japan to work for DDT. But Lykos came back and the time is now to revive the Calamari Catch Kings and bring back some sick f’n tag moves! He will be in DDT for the 10th and 13th September shows.

Makoto Oishi is bringing in Yoshihiko to take on ShunMao!

Nariagari is a amateur indie wrestling group that was created by Danshoku Dieno back in 2019. He wanted to find regular people who had suffered broken dreams at least once in their lives (but no more than five) and train them to wrestle. It is a project separate from DDT which is why there has barely been any crossover between the two entities.

Comedian Koriki Choshu will be at the show. The gimmick is he impersonates Riki Choshu. I don’t even want to know how long ago it was when I first saw that “Night Of Fire” music video he did.

2. KO-D Openweight Title: Kazusada Higuchi (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

Higuchi walked out of Ota Ward Gymnasium still the KO-D Openweight Champion but he already set his sights on his next opponent. He feels the need to beat Takeshita because Takeshita was the symbol of DDT’s strength before he began his overseas excursion. Higuchi cannot tell if he has become a true champion after beating Endo, but he definitely feels like he is currently the champion of DDT.

Yuki Ueno declared his goal as Universal Champion is to defend the title in the countries of challengers he has beaten. For example he would like to do a title defence in Thailand because Masahiro Takanashi often associates himself with that country. Another example is Ueno going to the UK after he beats Cara Noir. The British wrestler will be competing in Japan for the first time this month. He will get a match in DDT on 18th September as well as the title shot against Ueno on the 25th.

Max The Impaler is coming back to Japan for this show! They left a big impression on Tokyo Joshi Pro earlier this month so there is already anticipation for their return.

DDT ends the year of their 25th Anniversary with a first time show in Tokyo Dome City Hall. They appointed LiLiCo to be the special ambassador for the event and she proposed DDT will give full ticket refunds to anyone who finds the show boring. She is also trying to convince DDT to let her take part in an Anal Explosion ceremony.
