1. Hideki Okatani defeated Hinata Kasai with the Skewered Claymore (7:37).
2. Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida defeated Ilusion & MJ Paul when Ishida pinned Ilusion with the Flame Palm (6:13).
3. KANON’s Birthday Commemoration Match ~ Special Tag Match: MAO & KANON (w/ KIMIHIRO) defeated Chris Brookes & Danshoku Dieno when KANON submitted Dieno with the Cobra Twist (16:27).
4. Soma Takao & Kazuma Sumi defeated Kazuki Hirata & Antonio Honda when Sumi pinned Hirata with the School Boy (8:25).
5. Special Single Match: Takeshi Masada defeated Akito with the Masada No Chikara KOBU Mukimuki (10:04).
6. Jun Akiyama 33rd Anniversary Commemoration Match ~ Special 6-Man Tag Match: Jun Akiyama, HARASHIMA & Yuki Ueno defeated Kazusada Higuchi, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Daichi Sato when Ueno pinned Matsunaga with the Frog Splash (12:35).
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya (c) defeated To-y & Yuya Koroku when Iino pinned Koroku with the Spear (20:26).
*V4 for The Apex.

The challengers showed a little power of their own to put The Apex on the ropes in the main event. To-y was able to slam Yuki Iino with the Kojima Wonderland and Yuya Koroku followed up with the Moonsault Press. Koroku then tried putting Iino in the Chickenwing Arm Lock while To-y did a dive onto Yukio Naya outside the ring. However Iino got out of the submission hold, hit Koroku with a Lariat and then pinned him with the Spear. After the match Iino praised Koroku for giving a nice “BURNING” performance but Koroku wouldn’t shake his hand. Naya said The Apex would take on any challengers which caused Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida from Harimao to walk out to the ring. They challenged The Apex for the KO-D Tag Team Titles and the match will go ahead on 19th October.

Match #6 was to celebrate the anniversary of Jun Akiyama’s debut match but the spoils went to Yuki Ueno instead. Akiyama gave Tomomitsu Matsunaga the Exploder Suplex and was then blocked from doing the Wrist-Clutch version by Kazusada Higuchi. Ueno then blind tagged himself in and did a Frog Splash on Matsunaga for the three count. He called the match a fitting celebration of Akiyama’s 33rd Anniversary. Akiyama was a little bothered by Ueno stealing his moment but he took it as a lesson that every day is still a competition against everyone.

In something of an upset, Kazuma Sumi pinned the KO-D Openweight Champion! I mean he pinned Kazuki Hirata but still, pinning the KO-D champion is a big deal no matter who it is. After the match Sumi called for a KO-D Title shot but Hirata turned him down, explaining he already has a scheduled defence against Yoshihiko and there are still two Right To Challenge Arm Covers to be cashed in against him. Sumi however called out Hirata for wanting to defend the title against Hisaya Imabayashi next after Yoshihiko. Hirata eventually agreed to give Sumi a title match after he beats Yoshihiko. He then offered Sumi a bag of Alfort chocolate but when he opened them there were packs of Haribo sweets inside it instead, confusing everyone.

Everybody in KANON’s birthday match ended up having the back of their pants pulled down to expose their rear ends. The match ended up literally going dark with a single spotlight shining in the middle of the ring where KANON put Danshoku Dieno into the Cobra Twist for the victory.

Back in March former Dragon Gate wrestler Kotoka reemerged after a multiple year long absence away from the ring to be a part of Kazuki Hirata’s 15th Anniversary show. Then he sort of disappeared again but now he’s back to wrestle on a Super Japan show. Wrestling hasn’t been his priority in years because he has a career managing many, many gyms across Tokyo and Osaka (he currently has 24 gyms according to his Instagram account) so he is now going to use the name Gym Leader Kotoka, at least for this match. Kotoka will be part of a “Dragon Gene” tag team with Mac Matsushita to take on the super indie tag team of monk wrestler Fuminori Abe and Filipino wrestler Bryan Ishizaka.

It’s all new champions across Tokyo Joshi Pro and two of them have defences lined up for the October Korakuen Hall show. Miu Watanabe is putting the newly won Princess Of Princess Title on the line against Yuki Aino in order to see how much passion Aino can bring to the match.

Yuna Manase & Toga were already the next challengers for the Princess Tag Team Titles and now they will face Ober Eats instead of Kyoraku Kyomei. The dynamic to watch out for here is how Yuki Kamifuku and Yuna Manase will fight each other. They used to team together as Cat’s Pye and one of Kamifuku’s failed attempts to win the tag titles came from that team.

Both shows will have around 4 or 5 matches each.

So far Hirata has been finding different ways to avoid having to defend his KO-D Openweight Title against wrestlers cashing in their title shots. Her one night only return puts her in a match with three wrestlers who all mean a lot to her for one reason or another: Shoko Nakajima, Miyu Yamashita and Yuki Kamifuku.

Kazuki Hirata is now the KO-D Openweight Champion but there are still three Arm Covers remaining. They currently belong to Soma Takao (Red), Hideki Okatani (Blue) and Yuya Koroku (Green).

The card has been changed around a bit due to Daisuke Sasaki being injured. He is out of action for a while with a fractured rib.

Two new friends join the fray and they might be familiar to fans from certain parts of the world. Charli Evans is from Australia but usually calls the UK wrestling scene her home. She and Chris Brookes had many matches against each other before the pandemic. Her husband Everett Connors made a few GCW appearances coming out of the pandemic before moving his career to Australia with Evans.

Koroku might need to hold onto his RTC Arm Cover for as long as he can because that’s the only reason why he and To-y are getting a KO-D Tag Team Titles shot. Yuki Iino has good memories of using the Right To Challenge prize and he wants to take the one Koroku currently has. He says he will cancel the match if Koroku loses it before then but I don’t know if he or Yukio Naya have the power to do that. The Apex are confident thet can keep the tag titles either way.

We’re not done yet with Chris Brookes’s reunion with Zack Sabre Jr. They realized it has been years since they last had a singles match against each other and it hasn’t been done in Japan yet. So why not do one at Sumo Hall for DDT’s biggest show of the year? Sabre is still the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion too. But for how long…

It will be around a year and four months that have gone by when Sanshiro Takagi finally returns to wrestle again. He only admitted recently that one of the reasons he was out of action for so long was because he was diagnosed with angina and wasn’t allowed to even do a proper workout by his doctor until he recovered.
