7. After Judgement 2022 Special 6-Man Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & Toui Kojima defeated Tetsuya Endo, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku when Kojima submitted Koroku with a Triangle Choke (22:11).

The 26th year of DDT has gone off to a hot start with plenty to talk about. The main event was the latest tag team battle between The 37KAMIINA and BURNING but this time with a brand new result. For months Toui Kojima has fought to try and beat his classmate Yuya Koroku. Every step of the way was met with failure until today when Kojima finally got his direct win over Koroku! The result didn’t look like it would happen when Koroku hit the Moonsault Press and then applied the Chickenwing Armlock he’s been using to beat his rival. But Kojima used the lessons he learned from Shinya Aoki to counter the move into a Triangle Choke for the tap out. He lived up to his promise of crying tears of joy over finally beating Koroku. Kojima admitted he is still weak and is not ready to be compared to the rest of his stable. He wants to keep training so he can becomes stronger.

Yuki Ueno threw in his support for Kojima along with the rest of The 37KAMIINA. He is so inspired by everyone in the unit doing their best to leave a mark on the world that he wants to do the same in DDT. So he is challenging Tetsuya Endo for the KO-D Openweight Title on 1st May! Endo said if Ueno is confident enough to beat the man who just became champion at Sumo Hall and carry the belt with 25 years of history attached to it then he will accept the challenge. Ueno told him he isn’t just fighting for that but also for the future of DDT. He wants to defeat Endo and lead the company as champion.

As ridiculous as the O-Back Ladder Match was there was a surprising amount of emotion to it. Shunma Katsumata walked out wearing an ALL OUT shirt hoping to remind Yuki Iino of their time together in that group. Iino briefly remembered and did a Haka pose with his old friend but in a flash that memory went away and they had to fight. Katsumata climbed the ladder and grabbed the O-Back but the winner had to wear it. He covered his waist in a towel to put it on but Iino attacked him with Danshoku Dieno & Yumehito Imanari’s help. Together they performed “Pheromone Magic” on Katsumata and he suddenly found out he was somehow now wearing nothing underneath his towel! He gave up to avoid further shame, resulting in a successful DDT Extreme Title defence for Iino. Dieno told Katsumata he previously agreed to wear the O-Back by itself if he lost. He is a man of his word so he did just that and shook Iino’s hand. Iino then blindsided him with a Brainbuster to humiliate him even more. Dieno asked who would want to challenge Iino for the Extreme Title after seeing this?

Sometime before the show, a desperate Michael Nakazawa went searching around town for MAO so he could ambush him. He was lured into a counter attack where MAO ran Nakazawa over with a van! Nakazawa did show up to the match wrapped head to toe in bandages. He looked like a physical wreck and couldn’t even stand up by himself. MAO decided to take advantage but it turned out to be a trick! The real Nakazawa ran down to the ring and attacked MAO with a crutch. He then used his signature tricks like rubbing his body in slippery lotion and applying the Ultimate Venom AEW Arm. However MAO fought back and pinned Nakazawa with the Super Michinoku Driver II for the win.

MAO called the DDT Universal Title defence an easy win. He wants to use his champion status to wrestle overseas so asked for his next challenger to be somebody with presence. Out walked Asuka! She just returned from wrestling in Italy and has a UK tour lined up this summer so she matches all of MAO’s requests. Asuka said the “VENY’s” of the world deserve that title. MAO accepted the challenge and wants it to be at the Yokohama Budokan on 1st May.

Kazuki Hirata knew just like everyone else that he has no chance of beating Jun Akiyama in a fair fight. He was moments away from losing easily to the Exploder Suplex when he grabbed the microphone and called a stop to the match. Hirata can’t win a wrestling match but he can beat Akiyama in a quiz! Suddenly the match turned into a trivia contest with chairs in the ring to sit on and a toy hammer to hit each other with when somebody got a question wrong. 1st Question: What tragedy happened to Hirata before a show in Yokohama Raidant Hall? Hirata answered he was bit by a Chihuahua. Correct! Question 2: Who was Hirata’s opponent in a fantasy card Keisuke Ishii once put together? Hirata answered Yuji Okabayashi. Correct! Question 3: On 4th January, 2002 the name of the defending GHC Heavyweight Champion is… Akiyama cut off the question to answer it was himself. That wasn’t the question thought so he was incorrect! The rest of the question asked who was the child who wanted to skip school to go see the match and got angry at his mother? Hirata answered it was himself. Correct! Hirata defeated Akiyama in the Quiz Showdown! Hirata hit Akiyama with the toy hammer to celebrate and Akiyama no sold it. DDT then announced that Akiyama’s 30th Anniversary show will be held in Korakuen Hall on 18th September. Akiyama thinks he will have a proper match against Hirata on that show.

The new KO-D Tag Team Champions are on shaky ground after finding out just how strong their opponents are. Yukio Naya showed off the power he has gained from teaming with Yuji Hino and made Masahiro Takanashi submit for the victory. Chris Brookes was also left in agony from Hino’s chops. Naya told the fans to look forward to them taking the Tag Titles from CDK.

A lesson we learned today is nobody messes with Hisaya Imabayashi except Pheromones! Their match against DAMNATION T.A was going the usual lewd direction with Imabayashi threatening to cancel the match. This time however Daisuke Sasaki came to defend Imabayashi from Pheromones, only to turn on him and attack all of them with a chair. Minoru Fujita & MJ Paul joined in on the beatdown and had to be disqualified. Sasaki complained that Imabayashi doesn’t have the right to cancel their matches. He threatened they will attack him again if he tries to stop the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match on 10th April. They will even attack his wife and kids to prove their point! Dieno was in tears over what happened to Imabayashi. He is an innocent person in that doesn’t deserve to get attacked this way. Pheromones claim they are all about justice and swore to get revenge on DAMNATION T.A!

A full force Eruption opened up the main show, beating a foursome made up of DISASTER BOX wrestlers and the rookie Yuki Ishida. Those four were all called “The Pig Brothers” by Hideki Okatani. He even scored the win in the end and told the fans to remember the Red Fight Spirit of Eruption!

On the pre-show Antonio Honda successfully defended the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title against Pokotan. Honda summoned the power of Triple H to aid him on his way to victory. After the match Shinichiro Kawamatsu from the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly was supposed to hand the belt over to Honda but Pokotan got into another fight with Honda. The two of them knocked each other out and it dawned on Kawamatsu that he could pin Honda. He did so after encouragement from the fans and became the new Iron Man Champion! Kawamatsu joked if this is really what the DDT fans wanted to see and he promised to defend the title for all 24 hours as hard as he can.

Away from all the matches, the biggest news to come from the show was Konosuke Takeshita announcing he is going on an indefinite expedition to the United States where he will wrestle for AEW! His final match in DDT before he leaves will be on 10th April. He is ready to take on the challenge of the world and begin Chapter 2 of his career. He also promised to do his best in DDT before he goes away and hopes when he comes back Ueno will be the KO-D Champion so he can challenge him.

Endo was presented with the brand new redesigned KO-D Openweight Title belt from Sanshiro Takagi at the start of the show. Endo said it is more brilliant looking than the previous belt he is happy to be the one to build up its history.

The next Korakuen Hall show on 10th April will feature Saki Akai & Maya Yukihi against Bambi & Cherry to celebrate DDT’s history with women’s wrestling. Akai is honored to face the two women from DDT’s past and also hopes to create something new with Yukihi.

A mystery wrestler who would like to wrestle in DDT is being promoted to appear at Yokohama Radiant Hall on 1st April.

3b. Rematch: HARASHIMA, Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda defeated Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi when Honda pinned Hiroshi with the Diving Fist Drop (5:52).
4. ALL OUT FINAL FIGHT: Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when Katsumata pinned Akito with the ¡Hasta la vista! (28:52).

Today was the final day of ALL OUT, the unit that has been around in DDT for four years. All of its members have taken different directions for their careers and agreed the time has come for most of them to go their separate ways. Just as the unit name suggests, ALL OUT gave it their all and kept burning until the end. That was shown in the main event when the four full time members faced off in a tag match lasting half an hour. Before the match began everyone was treated to video messages from the international members of ALL OUT. Diego, Space Monkey and Royce Chambers all sent their thanks to the group for taking care of them when they were in Japan.

The match itself went full force. Yuki Iino put Konosuke Takeshita through a table with the Spear. Takeshita fired back with the Last Ride for a nearfall but his attempt at bringing back the Fable was blocked with a mid-air Spear. Shunma Katsumata and Akito then went on a sprint until all four wrestlers got into Elbow Strike exchanges. Iino got Takeshita out of the ring while Katsumata peppered Akito with Super Kicks. Katsumata then wrapped the ALL OUT flag around his waist and did the Stuka Splash for a nearfall. For the ending, Katsumata yelled out Diego’s name and did Diego’s finisher the VHS onto the flag. He then pinned Akito with the ¡Hasta la vista! to win.

Takeshita got on the mic after the match. He said ALL OUT began with just him and Akito, then Diego joined. It wasn’t a unit put together to make friends but for each member to improve each other. The proof today is in how strong Katsumata & Iino have become. Takeshita admitted he was against Katsumata joining the group because he wasn’t very good at the time but now he is like a different person! Takeshita was also the person who told Iino to start using the Haka Elbow so he has to take the responsibility for that one. Akito repeated that he and Takeshita pushed each other upwards. He hopes Katsumata & Iino will go crazy in more ways from now on so they can all say this break up was not a mistake. Iino talked about being in ALL OUT ever since his debut. He has been part of the unit for pretty much his entire career so he has nothing but gratitude towards the other members. He thanked them for keeping ALL OUT alive for him when he was sidelined with a back injury. Katsumata said similar for the times he was out of action with his orbital bone injuries. ALL OUT has ended but their goals will be the same. Katsumata wants all four of them to make a new history and he won’t lose to any of them from now on either!

The planned 3 Way Tag Match was changed into a special 6-Man Tag Team match by Hisaya Imabayashi. According to the GM, Tetsuya Endo & Soma Takao strongly requested the match to be turned into a Smile Squash Vs Happy Motels double reunion. It all turned out to be a ruse when Endo & Takao attacked everyone including the referee, causing the match to end in a No Contest. HARASHIMA demanded the original 3 Way Tag Match take place instead but that also got thrown out when Daisuke Kiso got knocked down again, this time by Antonio Honda & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi when their team fell apart. HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano tended to Honda while Hiroshi sided with Endo & Takao in an alliance he named YOGANATION. An impromptu 6-Man Tag then happened but Endo & Takao turned on Hiroshi. They left him for dead with a Double Super Kick and Honda did the Diving Fist Drop on Hiroshi for the three count.

Takeshita & Akito were able to get a win earlier in the show. Their last trios match with Katsumata was a victory against wrestlers they have associations with: Takeshita with Yuki Ueno, Katsumata with Chris Brookes and Akito with Shota. The match had no tags needed to keep things fast and frantic. Brookes was dispatched with a Super Kick/Zahi combo, Takeshita countered Ueno’s WR into the Surprise Rose and Akito made Shota submit to the Goliath Birdeater.

Iino opened the show with another chance to try and beat the unbeatable Yuji Hino. He showed no intimidation towards his rival, performing the Haka on the ramp when Hino walked out for his entrance. Iino put too much focus into using the Spear. When he hit it, Hino kicked out. Then by that point Hino had the move scouted and used Short Range Lariats to stop further attempts of the move. Iino was down and defeated when Hino hit a Diving Body Press.

6. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Akito, Kazuki Hirata & Shota (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuji Hino
7. DDT Extreme Title: Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Chris Brookes

The bad blood between Shunma Katsumata and Chris Brookes has come back to the fore. Brookes has hated Katsumata ever since Brookes got banned from Twitter for three weeks when he threatened Katsumata online. He got a DDT Extreme Title shot by telling the champion it would be a clean match with no cheating involved. It was immediately shown to be a lie the moment the match was confirmed. Now it’s up to Katsumata to decide what kind of match they should have. He will be in the middle of a Big Japan death match tournament when this bout happens so he’ll already be pretty beaten up.

Soma Takao is getting more annoyed because Akito keeps reminding him of Young Communication. If he pesters him enough maybe Soma will actually join the Young Communication Generation… Nah!

What is going on? Jun Akiyama hasn’t won a match in DDT since becoming the KO-D Openweight Champion. It doesn’t help that his next challenger Kazusada Higuchi is on fire right now. That Brain Claw is nasty looking and his hard head can take being thrown into the ring post with no problem.

I’m starting to get high hopes that the feud between Yuki Ueno and Yusuke Okada will have legs. Some good stuff between them so far.

The feud of the Spring is here, Saki Akai’s photobook against The Young Bucks book! If “Killing The Business” can pin “Lip Hip Shake” then it will become the 1,500th Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion!

ALL OUT will have disbanded by the time this show happens. This will be the first match Konosuke Takeshita and Yuki Iino will be opponents in unaffiliated from each other.

2. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – 6 Way Match: Saki Akai Photo Book “Lip Hip Shake” defeated The Young Bucks Autobiography “Killing The Business” (c), Kazuki Hirata, Danshoku Dieno, Antonio Honda and Saki Akai when “Lip Hip Shake” pinned “Killing The Business” (9:09).
*Saki Akai Photo Book “Lip Hip Shake” becomes the 1,499th champion.
3. HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi & Yukio Naya defeated Daisuke Sasaki, Mad Paulie & Nobuhiro Shimatani when HARASHIMA pinned Shimatani with the Somato (9:27).
4. DAMNATION Vs ALL OUT!: Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuji Hino defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Yuki Iino when Takao pinned Iino with the Official Endless Waltz (15:17).
5. Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Chris Brookes defeated Jun Akiyama, Makoto Oishi & Hideki Okatani when Brookes pinned Okatani with the Praying Mantis Bomb (12:07).
6. DDT Extreme Title – Kids Room Death Match 37 (Sauna) Count Edition: Shunma Katsumata (c) (37) defeated MAO (36) (21:59).
*V1 for Shunma Katsumata.

For the first time in his career, Shunma Katsumata beats MAO! The ring resembled a play room with toys displayed all over the canvas for the wrestlers to use. There were also tables and concrete blocks because that is what MAO played with when he was a kid. He had to convince Yukinori Matsui that they were safe enough to use in the match. The eventual goal was to pin your opponent for enough counts to reach a total of 37 seconds. MAO reached 36 which caused Katsumata to get desperate. He took out barbed wire and wrapped it around his body before doing a Diving Body Press. MAO moved out of the way but Katsumata caught him with one last pin to get his 37th and winning count.

Katsumata said his first DDT Extreme Title defence could only be done with MAO and he thanked him for it. Chris Brookes then entered the ring, praised Katsumata for the match and then challenged him for the title. He also wants the match to be straightforward and a clean fight. Hisaya Imabayashi granted his request and made the title match for 14th March. Katsumata got worried because he is supposed to be spending the entire month in Big Japan for the Ikki Tousen tournament. He shook hands with Brookes but Brookes suddenly kicked him low and said he was only joking about having a clean fight because he hates Katsumata! He went for the Praying Mantis Bomb but Katsumata blocked it and kicked Brookes out of the ring. He then asked to cancel the title match but it’s too late. Imabayashi booked it and he isn’t changing his mind.

The challenger for the KO-D Openweight Title looked ferocious out there today. Kazusada Higuchi aimed to get the Brain Claw on Jun Akiyama and once he got it, he wouldn’t let it go. Akiyama rolled out of the ring but Higuchi still had him in his grasp and tightened his grip further. Even after Brookes pinned Hideki Okatani to end the match, Higuchi still wouldn’t let go until Yukio Sakaguchi broke him off. As Higuchi was helped to the back, Higuchi told him to be prepared for 28th March! Backstage Akiyama can’t help but compliment his opponent for using such a simple maneuver so effectively especially at an age when Higuchi should be at his physical peak. He is also still angry over how often he has been losing ever since he became the KO-D Champion.

DAMNATION defeated ALL OUT in the 6-Man Tag where Yuki Iino still wanted to fight Yuji Hino and treated all of his opponents as if they were Hino. He went to do the Diving Hip Drop but Hino cut him off and gave Tetsuya Endo a chance to Power Bomb him from the corner. Instead Iino was too heavy and Endo collapsed underneath him, taking a de facto Hip Drop anyway. Konosuke Takeshita directed traffic by throwing Iino Spear first into Hino. Hino then went for the Spear on Soma Takao but he dodged it and pinned Iino with the Official Endless Waltz. Takao won but he is getting annoyed at Akito reminding him of the Young Communication shows they used to be a part of.

The notable news coming after the match happened when Akito called the rest of ALL OUT into the ring. He said when Iino returned from injury, he thought what was the future of ALL OUT going to be. Everybody in the group is moving in different directions because they now have bigger priorities so Akito thinks now is the time for ALL OUT to disband. Takeshita understands the reasoning and brought up the foreign members of the group that have come and gone over the unit’s four year existence (Diego, Space Monkey & Royce Chambers). Katsumata agrees that everyone has grown out of the unit. Iino is thankful that the unit was kept alive for him to come back. He’s disappointed that it has to end but he must focus on his goal to beat Yuji Hino. After a quick discussion with Imabayashi, it was agreed that ALL OUT will split up on 12th March.

The DAMNATION signboard Nobuhiro Shimatani carries around is now made of wood so he used it as an effective weapon to keep Toru Owashi & Yukio Naya at bay. However he bit off more than he could chew when he wanted to do the Somato on HARASHIMA. He was cut off with a short range Somato and HARASHIMA finished him off with a proper one. Daisuke Sasaki & Mad Paulie were so confused by Shimatani’s plan they didn’t even enter the ring to break the pin and allowed HARASHIMA to win the match.

Imabayashi safely brought The Young Bucks book “Killing The Business” out to the ring for it to defend the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title in a 5 Way Match. The wrestlers all fought each other trying to pin the book. Danshoku Dieno cleared the ring and came up with an idea. He will instead form a team with the book because it has the potential to become a great DDT champion! Dieno attacked Antonio Honda and Saki Akai with the book and then set Kazuki Hirata for the Danshoku Driver onto the book. Akai flipped the book to stand vertically so Dieno hurt himself landing butt first onto it. Hirata fled backstage and found something in Gota Ihashi’s bag to counter the book. It was a copy of Akai’s first photo book “Lip Hip Shake”! Hirata attacked everyone with the book and showed it off to the audience while Akai tried to block it from view. The skirmish ended with all of the wrestlers incapacitated and Akai’s book falling on top of The Young Bucks book. Matsui figured it was a pin and counted to three, declaring “Lip Hip Shake” as the new champion!

Hirata cut a promo on the book after the match. He called it the new King Of DDT who must be defeated! Hirata gave the book the Egoist Driver but it kicked out at two. The book then hit Hirata in the head and knocked him out with a Hurricanrana. Ihashi ran down to the ring, grabbed the book and said “Saki-chan… let’s go home…”

Yusuke Okada had been looking for a name to give his Tornado DDT finisher. It is now called the Tricolor and he pinned Yuki Ueno with it! The Tricolor name comes from Okada’s favourite football club, the Yokohama F. Marinos. Okada said he’ll be here in the ring waiting for Ueno and the DDT UNIVERSAL Title on 14th March.

The DDT Assistant Producer Hisaya Imabayashi has been promoted back to the General Manager position. He was originally the GM from 2010 to 2017 under the name Amon Tsurumi until Dieno won a Producer role in DDT and fired him. He was able to keep some power in regards to match making by taking an Assistant Producer job.

Makoto Oishi and his wife Misaki Ohata are launching their own Youtube channel called “Mikomako Channel ~ Fighting Family”.

Akiyama Joins DDT, Max Heart 1st Rounds, Watase Injured, Ueno Can’t Decide

February 15, 2021

Today a press conference was held by CyberFight to give some big news for DDT and NOAH. On the DDT side, Jun Akiyama has signed a one year full time contract with DDT. On the NOAH side, Keiji Muto has signed a two year contract with NOAH. President Sanshiro Takagi said the signings were made because he believes these two treasures will be the driving force behind CyberFight becoming No. 1 in the pro wrestling world. Takagi originally asked Akiyama to join DDT back in January after having conversations with All Japan at the end of last year. Akiyama held off on making a deal because of his knee surgery and asked to wait until after “KAWASAKI STRONG 2021” to make a decision. As soon as the main event was done and the show was over, Akiyama accepted Takagi’s offer to become DDT’s head coach. Akiyama knew of the risks involved and wants to put everything he has into DDT. Naomichi Marufuji believes Muto’s starpower is important to help make NOAH become a global company. He also has a strong sense of responsibility towards the company after becoming the GHC Heavyweight Champion. Muto said as long as NOAH has the No. 1 wrestler in the industry, CyberFight needs to become the No. 1 organization as well.

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Kazusada Higuchi

There are only two wrestlers who have beaten Akiyama in DDT so far. Tetsuya Endo and Kazusada Higuchi. Akiyama got his win back from Endo yesterday and he won’t consider himself a deserving KO-D Openweight Champion until he avenges his embarrassing defeat to Higuchi. So that’s the main event of the 24th Anniversary show set.

There has only been one person who has given backlash to Akiyama’s coaching in DDT. Danshoku Dieno doesn’t like the way Akiyama sees pro wrestling which is understandable given how much Dieno has represented DDT in the past. Akiyama welcomes the criticism and invites Dieno to show him his point of view. But he also warns that as head coach he won’t let members of the roster rebel against him just for the sake of it.

*Tetsuya Endo fails in V4. Jun Akiyama becomes the 76th KO-D Openweight Champion!

The first “Big Match” show for DDT in 2021 took place in Culttz Kawasaki where fans got to see Jun Akiyama climb back up to the summit and become the new KO-D Openweight Champion! With Kenta Kobashi watching from ringside, Akiyama defeated Tetsuya Endo to avenge the D-Ou Grand Prix loss to him back in November. Endo’s plan was to target Akiyama’s surgically repaired knee to immobilise him. Akiyama had to throw big moves like Piledrivers and different Suplexes to wear down the champion in return. Endo kept kicking out of Exploder Suplexes including one from the top rope. He went high risk with the Shooting Star Press but missed, giving Akiyama the opening to hit his Knee Strikes. Endo kicked out once more this time from the Wrist-Clutch Exploder. It took an open leg Sternness Dust α to finally put Endo down and out to cause the title change.

Kobashi presented Akiyama with the KO-D Title after the match. He wanted to wrap it around his waist but Akiyama refused him. Akiyama said Endo was the best and he was only able to beat him by a small margin today. He doesn’t know if he could do it again, so he is going to borrow this championship for a while. Endo shouted he will get it back and then left. Akiyama then said he cannot wear the title around his waist until he beats the other DDT wrestler he lost against in the Grand Prix. He wants his first defence to be against Kazusada Higuchi! Akiyama then referenced the WRESTLE UNIVERSE servers going down during the main event and joked about using Danshoku Dieno’s anal server to power it back up (that will be explained below).

In order to prepare for his DDT UNIVERSAL Title defence, Yuki Ueno went to train Jiu-Jitsu under Shinya Aoki so he could learn how to defend himself from Yukio Sakaguchi’s Sleeper Hold. The game plan he put together was to take out Sakaguchi’s left arm and strike first with counters. That was how he cut off the God’s Right Knee with a Dropkick. Sakaguchi wouldn’t die though even when Ueno gave him the WR. Sakaguchi instead tried to shake it off and go straight for the Sleeper Hold. But Ueno’s training paid off and he reversed the submission, choking out Sakaguchi until the match was stopped. Sakaguchi was woken up by medical staff and still had the power to hand the belt over to the champion. Ueno told him he doesn’t have any unpleasant feelings towards him. He was a little luckier today but little by little he is improving. Ueno then said in a few years time he wants to be as cool and scary as Sakaguchi is.

Yuki Iino made a triumphant return by leading ALL OUT to victory over DAMNATION. He immediately gave a Spear to Yuji Hino at the start of the match. ALL OUT all piled on top of Iino and Mad Paulie which was then broken up by a Diving Elbow from Daisuke Sasaki. A challenge of strength took place between Konosuke Takeshita and Hino when they both did Double German Suplexes to wrestlers on both teams. A ladder was bridged from the ring to the commentary table and Hino threw Shunma Katsumata onto it. Sasaki hit Iino with a chairshot behind the referee’s back but Iino shrugged it off and fought back. He got rid of Sasaki with a Lariat and then dropped Hino with a Back Flip. Paulie came in for a fight but missed the Reverse Splash. He kicked out of the Spear at one so Iino revved up for another Spear and that one got the three count. Iino and Hino had a staredown afterwards to hype up their singles match on 23rd February in Nagoya. Another story coming out of this match was Sasaki’s comments backstage. He said his goal for 2021 is to make Takeshita join DAMNATION! When ALL OUT heard that, Akito said he will make Soma Takao join the Young Communication Generation in return. Takeshita then joked that Mad Paulie will join the DDT Sauna Club.

If there is anything I will give Yukio Naya credit for, it is for getting into shape. He’s making good progress with losing weight in a bid to get into better in-ring condition. He still had a very difficult task today going with Higuchi up to fight against Smile Pissari. Naya came close to victory when he gave HARASHIMA a Back Drop. But it all fell apart when he charged right into a Somato. HARASHIMA got the space he wanted to recover and hit a second Somato for the win. HARASHIMA was happy to team with Yuji Okabayashi again and they may now have a claim to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

The spirit of 90’s Michinoku Pro was felt throughout the Special 6-Man Tag Match. Super Delfin had a new era Delfin Gundan in the form of Chris Brookes & Maki Itoh going against the Tohoku trio of MAO, Keigo Nakamura & Mirai Maiumi. Itoh entered wearing a Gran Naniwa costume and mimicked the late wrestler’s moveset, doing Naniwa’s Crab Walk on the ropes spot to set up the Flying Big Head finish. Delfin said this match happened a day after an earthquake happened in the Tohoku region, almost a decade after the 2011 earthquake. He hopes it will be safe enough for them to do a rematch over there some day. Brookes said it was a dream come true to team with Delfin because he is a cornerstone of the innovative junior heavyweight style of the 90’s. Itoh said the rope walk is a lot more difficult than it looks.

It turns out Saori Anou was right to complain about having to team with Miyako Matsumoto. They had a few too many miscommunications that caused their tag team to fall apart. Anou got sick of getting knocked around by her own tag partner that she gave Matsumoto a Fisherman Buster and left her out to dry. Maya Yukihi hit Matsumoto with the Jumping Super Kick and Saki Akai finished her off with the Rookie Award. Akai, Yukihi and Anou then did a group pose together and left the ring when Matsumoto tried to join in.

New KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Champions have been crowned! Will we see a proper title reign for once? Hell if I know! But enough about that, it’s time to finally talk about Dieno’s anal server. Kazuki Hirata began dancing unconsciously before the match because he was suffering from withdrawal symptoms after spending some time away from the dance gimmick. When he got to do dance in the ring the enthusiasm was so high that it caused a power outage in the venue. Everyone agreed to use Dieno’s backside as a power supply but the cable was not long enough. The wrestlers agreed to form a human chain from Dieno’s butt to the power source. The plan worked but the power wasn’t enough to bring the electricity back to full surge. Shinya Aoki came up with the solution to do the Hell Gate on Dieno, giving the anal power source the energy Dieno needed to power up the building again. Hirata got to dance and pin Sanshiro Takagi to win the titles.

The new rivalry between Yusuke Okada and Mizuki Watase is heating up. The two got rough with each other during the opener. Watase even made it a point to make Toui Kojima submit to a Crab Hold in front of Okada while Okada was being held back by Hideki Okatani. Watase is looking forward to their singles match because he now has a burning heart that wasn’t there before.

6. Konosuke Takeshita, Shunma Katsumata, MAO & Yuki Ueno defeated Akito, Kazuki Hirata, Shota & Keisuke Ishii when Ueno pinned Shota with the BME (14:34).
7. Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuji Hino (w/ Daisuke Sasaki) defeated HARASHIMA, Kazusada Higuchi & Chris Brookes when Endo pinned Brookes with the Shooting Star Press (17:18).

The first DDT show of 2021 was almost entirely a surprise card. The audience only knew what the matches were once they were ready to begin. For the main event HARASHIMA, Kazusada Higuchi & Chris Brookes joined forces to fight DAMNATION. While all of DAMNATION were at ringside, Daisuke Sasaki got directly involved by grabbing Brookes by the leg. Yuji Hino brought it to both HARASHIMA & Higuchi. Soma Takao overheard Higuchi insult CIMA which spurred him on to fight through the Brain Claw. Tetsuya Endo got the win in the end by hitting Brookes with Tetsuya In The Sky, the Swivel Torture Rack Bomb and finally the Shooting Star Press. Endo looked over to Jun Akiyama at the commentary table while the pin was counted.

Shouting was heard over by the entrance after the match. It was Yuki Iino calling for Hino’s attention while the rest of ALL OUT tried to hold him back. Iino pushed his teammates back, entered the ring and demanded to face Hino in an arm wrestling contest on the canvas. Hino was confused but he accepted the challenge and won. Iino got mad over losing and had to be held back again while Konosuke Takeshita introduced him to Hino. He then explained that Iino’s return match from injury will be at “KAWASAKI STRONG 2021” on 14th February when ALL OUT takes on DAMNATION. He then suggested that Iino and Hino have a singles match at the next big event after that. Hisaya Imabayashi agreed to book Iino Vs Hino in Nagoya on 23rd February. ALL OUT dragged Iino away while Endo took the microphone and warned Akiyama that he is always ready. Endo closed out the show by saying this year he is aiming for more than just the Tokyo Sports MVP Award. He wants to make scandalous news stories with glamourous women in the tabloids too!

Another 8-Man Tag pitted the two new units that have unexpectedly taken over DDT in the last few months. All four members of the DDT Sauna Club came out first, followed by the Young Communication Generation. The latter team then surprised everyone by bringing out Keisuke Ishii! Akito warned him about the Sauna Club’s “Heat Wave WER!!” pose but he didn’t understand it. Kazuki Hirata did a Plancha to the outside while Ishii did his work. The Sauna Club isolated Shota and piled on the top rope moves to him. Shunma Katsumata, MAO & Yuki Ueno hit Diving Body Presses one after the other but Ueno’s pin was broken up. Shota caught Ueno in the Gannosuke Clutch but MAO was there to break that pin up. Ueno got to recover and beat Shota with the BME. Backstage Ishii said it was the first time in a long while he wrestled in DDT (not counting BOYZ) and he would like to appear more in 2021 to be with his friends in Young Communication again. Shota wants to make it a year where Ganbare☆Pro doesn’t lose to DDT. Meanwhile Katsumata wants to make 2021 the year of the Sauna Club!

One of the matches was supposed to be Sanshiro Takagi & Danshoku Dieno Vs Shinya Aoki & Super Sasadango Machine. But backstage before the match Dieno, Aoki & Sasadango were all complaining about Takagi’s tweets including one that where Takagi was showing off his calves. The three of them instead decided to gang up on Takagi in a Handicap Match and purposely target his calf. Aoki put him in a Jail Hold while Dieno & Sasadango brought out a bag containing some of Takagi’s personal belongings. Sasadango found Takagi’s wallet, pulled out 29,000 yen in cash and raffled it off to three fans in the audience. Dieno eventually thought things went overboard and he felt sorry for Takagi. It is thanks to Takagi that they get to wrestle this year so the best New Year’s gift is to give Takagi his first win of 2021. Sasadango agreed and with Dieno they both attacked Aoki. Dieno is still recovering from the fire extinguisher attack to his rear but Takagi forced to go into the Hell Gate position. That lost him Sasadango’s support and Takagi was thrown face first into the Hell Gate. Aoki kicked Takagi in the calf, Sasadango did the Vertical Drop Lehmann Shock and Aoki pinned him with a Jackknife. Backstage Sasadango offered to be on Aoki’s team at “KAWASAKI STRONG 2021” because they should be fighting for a better goal than satisfying Takagi’s desires. They like Takagi but will not be used by him anymore!

As Takagi was leaving the ring after his match, he was suddenly approached at ringside by Yusuke Okada! The former All Japan wrestler introduced himself to the audience and told them he wants to experience a new world of pro wrestling now that he became freelance. He asked Takagi if he could have a match in DDT. Takagi questioned his interest in DDT after seeing the match that just happened. He then passed the request over to Imabayashi, who wasn’t expecting that. Imabayashi told Okada he will book him on next week’s Korakuen Hall show on 9th January.

DAMNATION’s good run begun earlier in the show when Mad Paulie, Nobuhiro Shimatani & Hiroshi Yamato beat Makoto Oishi, Mizuki Watase & Yukio Naya. Paulie threw Yamato onto Watase with an X-Style Iconoclasm. Shimatani then hopped onto Paulie’s back and they jumped on top of Watase for a nearfall when Oishi & Naya broke it up. Paulie then hit Watase with a Lariat and won with the Reverse Splash.

Gota Ihashi didn’t get to wrestle in Korakuen Hall last year so he wanted to make up for lost time. This year he wants to join a unit and rampage all over DDT. There is only one unit he wants to join and that’s Eruption! He came out with his own custom entrance video wearing an Eruption coat made out of posters. He even drew his own version of the Eruption logo calling it Ihaption. Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai were bemused over this but it kind of worked out in the end. Akai gave Toru Owashi a Brainbuster and Ihashi went toe to toe with Tomomitsu Matsunaga. Eruption(?) then focused their attacks on Toui Kojima. Ihashi almost lost the match when he missed the Moonsault. Akai kicked Ihashi out of frustration and Sakaguchi tagged himself in to finish Kojima off. Sakaguchi & Akai had enough of Ihashi and walked off on him backstage. However he believes he can continue teaming with Eruption and together they can all go after the KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Titles.

Antonio Honda’s big day was almost ruined when he tripped on the ropes and hurt his knee. Choun-Shiryu knew what was coming and attacked Honda before he could tell his latest Gongitsune joke. Honda lived up to the big occasion though and hit a Topé Suicida and the Tenzan Tombstone Driver on route to victory.

The first DDT match of 2021 was Keigo Nakamura’s first ever singles victory! He defeated his generation rival Hideki Okatani by cradling his way out of the Double Arm Suplex. Nakamura currently has a 1-3 record against Okatani so he wants to reverse the numbers this year.

Some more matches were booked for “KAWASAKI STRONG 2021”. Akai will be teaming with Maya Yukihi from Ice Ribbon to take on Saori Anou & Miyako Matsumoto. Yukihi said she discovered DDT more than 10 years ago so she is deeply moved to be wrestling a match for them. She thought she was going to fight against Akai but Imabayashi corrected her. Akai always wanted to team with her because she is beautiful and strong. She is also excited to face Anou again. When Imabayashi asked Akai & Yukihi about Matsumoto, they both declined to answer. They were asked again backstage and Yukihi finally had something to say. “In terms of strength, beauty and glamour, Miyako-san will never the best.”

The New Year’s Shuffle Tag Tournament winners Smile Pissari will team again at the Culttz Kawasaki show. HARASHIMA & Yuji Okabayashi will face a team yet to be determined.

Takagi will return to the battlefield for his next DDT Extreme Title defence. He takes on Nabe Yakan from Best Body Pro Wrestling on 10th January. The match was made when earlier in the day Yakan led a bunch of soldiers armed with air guns into the locker room to steal the Extreme Title belt.

1. Nobuhiro Shimatani defeated Keigo Nakamura with the Modified Camel Clutch (8:17).
2. Danshoku Dieno & Toru Owashi defeated Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda when Owashi pinned Honda with La Magistral Cradle (12:06).
3. Yuki Ueno & MAO defeated HARASHIMA & Yukio Naya when Ueno pinned Naya with the BME (13:51).
4. Young Communication Generation Vs Junretsu!: Akito, Kazuki Hirata & Shota defeated Jun Akiyama, Makoto Oishi & Hideki Okatani when Hirata pinned Okatani with the Miracle One Shot Cradle (11:41).
5. Eruption Vs DAMNATION!: Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Soma Takao & Mad Paulie when Sakaguchi pinned Paulie with the God’s Right Knee (12:34).
6. DAMNATION Vs ALL OUT!: Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata defeated Tetsuya Endo & Hiroshi Yamato when Takeshita pinned Yamato with the German Suplex (17:11).

Konosuke Takeshita used the main event to show everyone his left arm is pretty much healed. Shunma Katsumata used his time with Hiroshi Yamato to make fun of Yamato’s X sign he makes with his arms. Tetsuya Endo helped Yamato get some revenge by calling for “Skill Award X” and the two of them attacked their opponent with X Thrusts. Yamato accidentally hit Endo with an X and Takeshita knocked him down with a Lariat. Katsumata landed a Plancha on Endo while Takeshita finished off Yamato with the Fable and then the German Suplex. Takeshita told the crowd he expects to be fully recovered in time for the D-Ou Grand Prix final. Katsumata then invited the other DDT Sauna Club members Yuki Ueno & MAO into the ring and interviewed them about their earlier victory. Katsumata then looked at the ceiling and told everyone they can clearly see the aurora of Finland.

Eruption picked apart Soma Takao & Mad Paulie. After the match Yukio Sakaguchi asked Takao where was CIMA? Takao should bring him over next time and they can do the KO-D Tag Team Titles match early. Takao grabbed a chair and threatened to throw it at Sakaguchi. The ringside seconds calmed him down and Takao left. However Takao confronted Sakaguchi backstage during his post-match interview. He knocked the interview booth over Eruption and told them he and CIMA will take their belts.

Kazuki Hirata wanted to teach Jun Akiyama how to dance but the offer was violently turned down. Hirata got the last laugh by winning the match for his team and he danced in front of Akiyama again to rub it in. The DDT Sauna Club approached the Young Communication Generation after the match. Akito and Katsumata agreed that ALL OUT ran out of goals in 2020. Katsumata wants to restart ALL OUT sometime in 2021 but it’s important for the group to take a break. That’s why Katsumata will be fighting for the Sauna Club in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match on 27th December. He also knows Hirata and Shota both like visiting saunas but Akito does not. Akito is the odd man out in the title match. What Akito does have in common with his teammates is none of them want to lose to the DNA generation.

The Gongitsune joke led to some miscommunication between Antonio Honda and Chris Brookes. When Honda tripped, Brookes called for medical help and wanted Honda to be rushed to hospital. Honda told him he wasn’t hurt, he was only setting up his latest Gongitsune joke. Brookes got angry at Honda for lying and stormed out of the ring back to the locker room. Honda had to wrestle Danshoku Dieno & Toru Owashi on his own and yelled out an apology to Brookes, hoping he would hear it. Brookes did and his music played for a heroic rescue. Brookes then tripped on the rope and hurt his knee. It was then Brookes who told the Gongitsune story almost entirely in Japanese. Unfortunately the Gongitsune attack backfired and Honda hit Brookes instead of his intended target. Owashi then rolled Honda in La Magistral for the three count.

The trainee Toui Kojima was given an exhibition bout before his official debut on the 27th. Mizuki Watase put him through the wringer but Kojima got in a little bit of offence with a Double Chop. Watase stopped him with an Arm Drag followed by a Double Stomp. Watase then won with a Dropkick to the face.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura (c) when Higuchi pinned Yoshimura with the Goten (19:33).
*Nautilus fails in V8. Eruption becomes the 68th KO-D Tag Team Champions!

The tag team division in DDT now revolves around Eruption! They went through a double main event of two title matches and came out holding both sets of championships. The first match was them defending the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles against DISASTER BOX. Lightning did not strike twice for Kazuki Hirata. He got Yukio Sakaguchi in the Miracle One Shot Cradle but this time Sakaguchi kicked out not once but twice. Saki Akai dove onto Naomi Yoshimura and Kazusada Higuchi outside the ring while Sakaguchi ran across the apron and Penalty Kicked Yuki Ueno. In the ring, Ueno went for the WR on Sakaguchi but it was countered into the Choke Sleeper. Ueno tried to fight out of it but lost consciousness and the match was stopped. Eruption kept the 6-Man Tag Titles and posed with them for the cameras during the rest period.

Sakaguchi & Higuchi were then ready to fight Nautilus for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. First they swapped sides of the ring so the champions and challengers would start in the correct corners. Ueno was still in poor shape from the last match and was knocked silly by a Sakaguchi High Kick. Higuchi stopped the referee from checking on Ueno’s condition so the match could continue. Ueno managed to escape and tag Yoshimura in. The champions regained their breath and hit big moves on Higuchi including the Osaka Strad. Sakaguchi broke the count and the match was left in a standstill after Yoshimura and Higuchi traded slams. Yoshimura’s power was fading so Higuchi took his chance with a Headbutt. He then hit the Goten for the three count and the title change!

Eruption stood in the ring now holding both tag team titles. Higuchi told Nautilus and Hirata they could challenge for either belts again anytime. They’re all young and have momentum but today is Eruption’s victory. Sakaguchi said he shouldn’t ever be losing to Hirata but he gave Nautilus their props for being a fun team to fight. Akai thanked her partners for their hard work. She reiterated that everyone can challenge Eruption for the titles if they have the courage to step up to them.

Ueno’s bad day went even worse backstage. His post-match interview was interrupted by Chris Brookes making fun of him for losing his championship. A fight broke out between them and Brookes tangled Ueno up in the Octopus Stretch before leaving.

A lot of wrestlers used today’s show to prepare for “ULTIMATE PARTY 2020” since this was the last DDT event until then. CIMA and Soma Takao wrestled each other. A video was shown before the match explaining Takao’s past in the college wrestling club scene where he wrestled as BIMA. He used CIMA’s own moves against him including the Schwein and the Mad Splash. CIMA blocked the Mad Splash with his knees and hit the original Schwein. But instead of pinning him straight away, CIMA instead finished Takao off with the Meteora.

CIMA greeted the fans afterwards and told them it’s been six months since he last wrestled in Korakuen Hall. He knew about Takao’s history as BIMA and how much today’s match meant for him. He encouraged Takao to beat HarashiMarufuji when they face them at “ULTIMATE PARTY 2020”. If Takao can pin either HARASHIMA or Naomichi Marufuji then he will have surpassed CIMA. Takao can even change his name to DIMA to prove he has overtaken CIMA!

A contract signing for the “ULTIMATE PARTY 2020” main event took place during the show. Tetsuya Endo and Daisuke Sasaki both entered the ring wearing suits and were given a final opportunity to give their opinion on the match. Sasaki still thinks about DAMNATION betraying him so he is ready to rob the belt from Endo. He tried to start a fight but Hisaya Imabayashi kept him under control. Endo said he knew things would get shaken up after he nominated Sasaki to be his challenger. No matter what he does, Sasaki will always be a B-Class wrestler with no brain. Imabayashi again had to stop Sasaki from starting a fight. Endo then antagonized him further by saying he has no credit in helping him win the KO-D Openweight Title. Endo won it from Masato Tanaka on his own without help from anybody else. The contract was signed but the fight finally broke out during the photo session. Endo pulled Sasaki by the suit and had to be held back back Imabayashi. Sasaki then saw his opening and hit Endo with a Low Blow. He attacked Endo with a chair and then put him in the Crossface Lock until they were pulled apart.

It was the last skirmish between ALL OUT and Junretsu before Konosuke Takeshita and Jun Akiyama finally have their singles match. The match went all Kinnikuman when Akito carried Makoto Oishi in the Kinniku Buster position and dropped him onto his knees. Takeshita took one things further by using Neptuneman’s finishing move, the Double Leg Suplex Hold to win the match! Akiyama knocked the microphone away from Takeshita when he tried to speak into it. Akiyama shared some words off-mic and left the ring. Takeshita said he will definitely beat him at Ota Ward Gymnasium. Afterwards Takeshita explained he is now going to try out new moves whenever he is against Oishi. He has 108 moves to try out and already attempted 3. That leaves 105 left for Oishi to take. Akiyama was asked about the D-Ou Grand Prix. He isn’t interested in entering it but could change his mind.

Shinya Aoki made sure that Mad Paulie’s size advantage didn’t matter when they fought. Aoki took his time and left the ring whenever things got too risky. Then when he got Paulie down on the mat he switched from submission to submission until Paulie tapped to a Heel Hold. Aoki then surprised everyone by suddenly announcing he was vacating the DDT Extreme Title and quitting DDT! Sanshiro Takagi was watching from the balcony and he assured everyone that his match with Aoki for the title will take place at “ULTIMATE PARTY 2020” as advertised. Yeesh, first Khabib Nurmagomedov calls it quits and now this?

Is this love, is this love, is this love, is this love that I’m feeling? The undercard 6-Man Tag match went on a romantic turn when HARASHIMA and Brookes locked eyes. Music played and the other wrestlers danced while they slowly looked like they were about to embrace. Then Antonio Honda and Toru Owashi rolled both of them into School Boys for a double nearfall. Shunma Katsumata and Yukio Naya took each other out after a Thrust Kick and Lariat collision. Owashi was able to pin Honda with La Magistral Cradle to win.

Before Owashi could leave, Imabayashi stopped him to give some good news. Owashi will face Gorgeous Matsuno for the O-40 Title on 8th November! Owashi immediately refused and walked off. Imabayashi asked why and Owashi said that match will ruin his career. Imabayashi said Owashi can take the money earned at the merch table that day. Owashi agreed but then realised the date is an empty studio episode of DDT TV SHOW. He was too late to stop Imabayashi from confirming the match and running away.

Danshoku Dieno took part in the opening announcements but was interrupted by a video of his opponent Keigo Nakamura. He told Dieno that he will sneak attack him from a part of the venue he will never expect. When Dieno looked around to find out where, Nakamura ran in and went for a Springboard Dropkick. Dieno easily dodged it, gave Nakamura the Danshoku Driver and with Muscle Sakai announced the start of the show.

Nakamura was unconscious in the ring throughout the entire intro video and his match was first! Dieno entered the ring again and went for the pin as the bell rang. It was a trap and Nakamura rolled Dieno over but only got a two count. Nakamura put up a fight and escaped from a Double Wristlock via rope break. Dieno put him away with the Lip Lock and a Raw version of the Gotch-Style Danshoku Driver.

DDT is collaborating with Capital Sports for a range of sportswear. The original Capital Sports provided uniforms for companies like IWE, FMW and All Japan until the brand was retired. Their wrestling clothing was not sold to the public so they became rare collector’s items, sort of like the Ribera jacket. At the time many foreign wrestlers wore clothing from the brand in Japan including Bruiser Brody. In fact it’s been said that Brody was laid to rest wearing his favourite Capital Sports shirt. The brand disappeared after a merger involving its parent company but twenty years later it has been revived! DDT is one of the first wrestling companies to work with them.

The dark match saw Hiroshi Yamato defeat Hideki Okatani. Yamato is still sporting the black marks over his eyes like Sasaki. He also did not sing his entrance song like he normally does.
