The Union MAX Title belongs to Isami Kodaka once more! He brought Ryota Nakatsu’s dominant reign to an end with an unexpected use of a Fire Thunder Driver to set up not one, not two but three Diving Knee Drops in a row. It’s been four years since Kodaka last held the title and he isn’t eager to risk losing it so quickly. He announced he will not put the title on the line against Yuko Miyamoto for his 20th Anniversary match at Korakuen Hall on 18th July. The upcoming match is what inspired him to use the Fire Thunder today and he promises the match will be the culmination of Yankee Two Kenju.

Speed Of Sounds defended the IRON FIST Tag Titles while wearing homemade robot helmets and acting like RoboCop.

Chicharito Shoki got the win against Lil’ Kraken out of nowhere with the Torvezino Clutch. Kraken got angry over the result and attacked Shoki after the match forcing the two to be pulled apart.

At the start of the show Yusuke Kubo came out, making his first public appearance in BASARA since he was hospitalized with acute pancreatitis back in March. Kubo announced his return match will be on 10th July and he will be using a new name to mark the occasion. Yusuke Kubo is now called KUBITO! He explained it is sort of like the Mexican version of calling him “Kubo-chan”. The origin of the name comes from his time staying in Mexico when the landlady of the place he stayed in always called him “Kubito”.

American wrestler Willow Nightingale will make her Tokyo Joshi Pro debut on the show. “The Babe With The Power” is a regular on the American indies with her most high profile work being with ROH, MLW and lately AEW. An interesting note to point out is she will not be the foreign wrestler challenging Maki Itoh for the International Princess Title. Nightingale’s match will instead be announced on a later date.

May as well put it here that the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer reports on discussions to bring Thunder Rosa back to TJPW while she holds the AEW Women’s Title. This follows up on last week’s report on AEW being so impressed with Miyu Yamashita during her entire American excursion that they may want to do Rosa Vs Yamashita for the title somewhere down the road. Rosa herself hasn’t kept it a secret about how much she supports TJPW and wants to go back to Japan (and I think she let slip on one of her vlogs that it will happen sooner rather than later). That would be a big opponent for Itoh because the belt she has was taken away from Rosa two years ago.

After one year away with injury, Makoto Oishi returns to the ring! Oishi suffered a back injury last July during a match and had to be stretchered out of the venue. He was diagnosed with a fractured lumbar vertebrae and hadn’t wrestled since. However he was equipped with a back brace and continued working in the background at DDT shows, even finding ways to perform on those shows without having to wrestle.

Now it is Kyoraku Kyomei who are fighting over the Princess Of Princess Title. The challenge was made by Hyper Misao in order to become stronger. She needs to fight the toughest opponent and that right now is Shoko Nakajima. The two are still friends but Misao quickly launched the first shot, giving Nakajima a Stunner to warn her to keep her guard up at all times!

The Magical Sugar Rabbits are not taking Free WiFi seriously. They kept making connectivity jokes instead of accepting their opponents’ challenge.

Tokyo Joshi Pro has confirmed that Reika Saiki’s retirement ceremony will be held during the show.

The contract for the main event has been signed but Yumehito Imanari is looking out of his depth. Tatsuhito Takaiwa tricked him into lowering his guard so he could hit him with a Lariat during the signing. He previously beat Imanari to become the Spirit Of Ganbare Title but that was part of a tournament. Since both wrestlers will be fresh going into the match this time, Takaiwa wonders if the true champion is going to be determined.

Match #4 will not be happening. Shinjiro Otani suffered a scary injury at yesterday’s ZERO1 show in Sumo Hall when he took a German Suplex into the turnbuckles. He is still conscious but hasn’t been able to move his limbs since. There is no official diagnosis yet but Otani’s wrestling career might be over.

An old friend of Ken Ohka has come to offer him guidance. Muscle Sakai misses the days when Ganbare☆Pro was built around Ohka and wants him to headline Ganpro’s biggest show in Ota Ward Gymnasium this Summer. But Ohka is nowhere near ready for it so Sakai will wrestle him to bring that spark back and prepare him for his return to the main event.

Yuna Manase got a surprise visit from a friend too. Yuki Kamifuku is calling by Ganpro for a visit so she can catch up with her. However Kamifuku is now besties with Asuka while Manase has formed the Nippon Ganbare Union with YuuRI. If that’s not enough, one of YuuRI’s first matches in Ganpro was a disappointed effort against Asuka. This is her chance to make up for it by putting up a better fight.

The Princess Of Princess Title match is a fresh start for both wrestlers involved as well as for Tokyo Joshi Pro as a whole. Shoko Nakajima is kicking off her reign as the 10th champion and wants to give everyone everything she has. Yuki Aino is moving on from being primarily a tag team wrestler and turn into a leader like her seniors.

The new team on the block Arisuzu have been winning over people with their combined cuteness in the ring. Yuka Sakazaki wants to show them that being cute is not enough to become the champion. If Arisu Endo wins the Princess Tag Team Titles she wants to bring them to her hometown and proudly show them to her family. Suzume wants Arisuzu to win the belts and become a strong presence for TJPW. Mizuki wants to remind everyone that The Magical Sugar Rabbits are continuing to grow stronger. If MagiRabi successfully defend the Princess Tag Titles they have big plans for the rest of their title reign. Sakazaki would like to go beat up Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, Hello Kitty at Sanrio Puroland and then Pokotan if he is still around. Mizuki said something similar about defending the titles in theme parks but it sounds like mascots will be safe from her wrath.

Juria Nagano wants to hit Miyu Yamashita with all of her strength and have no regrets coming out of their match. Yamashita is happy to fight someone with a karate background similar to hers. Nagano thinks the difference between them is her own kicks were only ever used to score points in Karate while Yamashita has been kicking to hurt her opponents in pro wrestling for many years. She eventually wants her own kicks to become stronger than Yamashita’s. The Brazilian Kick would be her strike of choice in that situation.

The urgent appearance of KANON leads to an extra match added for this Sunday’s show. The newly freelanced wrestler takes on Yuki Ishida in the opening bout. KANON made his pro wrestling debut in JUST TAP OUT in July 2019 and has an athletic background in swimming and volleyball. He comes to DDT interested in fighting all of the wrestlers here from his generation.

Ever since Pheromones was formed, nobody was more of a victim from their antics than Hisaya Imabayashi. The DDT GM has been “publicly executed” by the unit over and over. Recently he began to fight back but the numbers game is just too much for him to handle. Luckily help is on the way for him to finally get his own back. AKIRA has come to the rescue, knowing Imabayashi from a storyline they did in MUSCLE many many years ago. That link will also draw Muscle Sakai away from retirement so the three of them can put Pheromones in their place once and for all.

A new KO-D Openweight Title belt will be unveiled and presented to the new champion Tetsuya Endo at the show. He has not seen the new design yet and is looking forward to finding out for himself when it is given to him at the show.

Two days after the Sumo Hall show and MAO has figured out how Michael Nakazawa tricked him into giving him a DDT Universal Title shot. When Nakazawa flashed him the AEW logo on his shirt, MAO was fooled into thinking he would be fighting one of the big stars. Today at a press conference MAO showed regret at making the match and asked to make it non-title. Nakazawa explained he is part of The Elite and beating him will open up a path for MAO to wrestle against the other more stronger members. MAO lit up at the idea of fighting The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega so he signed the contract for the match. Nakazawa then gave MAO a Low Blow and admitted it is all a trick so he can get the title shot. He revealed he needs to win the championship so he can bring it back to America and keep his AEW career alive because he is currently in limbo while Omega is out injured.

The DDT Extreme Title match is now an O-Back Ladder Match. The O-Back is the kind of jock strap Yuki Iino always wears underneath his gear for his matches. He originally wanted the rule to be both he and Shunma Katsumata had to wear an O-Back while they wrestled. Katsumata refused and came up with the idea to make it a Ladder Match where whoever grabs the O-Back hanging above the ring and puts it on first will be the winner. However extra negotiations with Iino and Danshoku Dieno added another way to win. The match can also end if either wrestler decides to give up.

The new KO-D Tag Team Champions have two big burly wrestlers to deal with in their first defence. Yukio Naya thinks his team with Yuji Hino has made him a far more confident pro wrestler, which Hino agrees with. Masahiro Takanashi joked that he would rather defend the Asia Dream Tag Team Titles against them inside Ichigaya Chocolate Square instead because there would be no room for the both of them. I don’t know if Chris Brookes can squeeze either of them through the window though.

Endo said his first challenger should be somebody who is confident they can go above and beyond. He does not want to nominate a challenger himself. He would rather someone suitable come forward and make the challenge to him. It is a clear goal Endo has come up with for this title run to be different from Konosuke Takeshita’s reign. When he won the main event on Sunday, Endo said he never saw Jun Akiyama smiling so happily. BURNING has only just started so Endo wants the KO-D Title to help make the unit bigger and better.

2. Takumi Tsukamoto & Yusuke Kubo defeated Gouma & Yasu Urano when Tsukamoto submitted Gouma with a Crab Hold (10:12).
3. FUMA defeated SAGAT with the Cross Armbreaker (14:30).
4. Isami Kodaka, Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita defeated Tsutomu Oosugi, Banana Senga & Fuminori Abe when Shimomura pinned Abe with an Invertied Hurricanrana (14:19).
5. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu (c) defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi with the V Slider (18:21).
*V3 for Ryota Nakatsu.

The long delayed Union MAX Title match between Ryota Nakatsu and Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi finally took place. Nakatsu had a visual pin on Hiroshi with the V Slider but the referee Yuya Okada was knocked out earlier and couldn’t count it. Hiroshi did his best to fight back but Nakatsu hit another V Slider and this time Okada was there to count the pin. Hiroshi admitted he was overconfident but Nakatsu called him the best genius in BASARA.

Suddenly, FUMA ran in and gave Nakatsu a judo throw. He then revealed something he kept secret from everyone all this time. The leader of Asian Kung Fu Revolution is not a Chinese kung fu master! He is in fact Japanese and spent 6 years in a judo club during junior high and high school. Watching the title match made his heart go wild so he wants to challenge Nakatsu for the MAX Title. Nakatsu accepted the challenge but was in for a surprise. For you see, FUMA actually does know kung fu. He just lied to trick Nakatsu into giving him a title shot. FUMA promised he will use the 4,000 years of Chinese history found in his kung fu techniques to beat Nakatsu!

Yusuke Kubo kept yelling at Chicharito Shoki to go back to Chiba while they were fighting. Shoki refused because he wanted to wrestle in front of all the fans in Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

With another title defence in the books, Speed Of Sounds think everything was easy-peasy today. Last time they held the IRON FIST Tag Titles they defended them for a year. This time they want to defend it for two years so it will feel like going from Normal difficulty to Hard mode. IRON PRIEST thought they had everything it took to win the titles today. Yusuke Kubo thinks their plan fell apart in the middle of the match. FUMA put everything he gained from the two years since the teams last fought each other into the match and felt he failed right at the end. They will not lose hope though and are ready for a rematch whenever and wherever Speed Of Sounds want it.

For the last time Isami Kodaka and Tank Nagai got to wrestle each other. After the match ended in a draw, Kodaka told Nagai that just because his wrestling career is ending does not mean his life is. No matter what Nagai does next, Kodaka wants him to remember this match and go for it. Nagai said he and his wife Mio Shirai are about to have their third child. The next time he comes to BASARA in some form, he’ll be able to show the power of all five members of his family.

The bad blood between Shunma Katsumata and Chris Brookes has come back to the fore. Brookes has hated Katsumata ever since Brookes got banned from Twitter for three weeks when he threatened Katsumata online. He got a DDT Extreme Title shot by telling the champion it would be a clean match with no cheating involved. It was immediately shown to be a lie the moment the match was confirmed. Now it’s up to Katsumata to decide what kind of match they should have. He will be in the middle of a Big Japan death match tournament when this bout happens so he’ll already be pretty beaten up.

Soma Takao is getting more annoyed because Akito keeps reminding him of Young Communication. If he pesters him enough maybe Soma will actually join the Young Communication Generation… Nah!

What is going on? Jun Akiyama hasn’t won a match in DDT since becoming the KO-D Openweight Champion. It doesn’t help that his next challenger Kazusada Higuchi is on fire right now. That Brain Claw is nasty looking and his hard head can take being thrown into the ring post with no problem.

I’m starting to get high hopes that the feud between Yuki Ueno and Yusuke Okada will have legs. Some good stuff between them so far.

The feud of the Spring is here, Saki Akai’s photobook against The Young Bucks book! If “Killing The Business” can pin “Lip Hip Shake” then it will become the 1,500th Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion!

ALL OUT will have disbanded by the time this show happens. This will be the first match Konosuke Takeshita and Yuki Iino will be opponents in unaffiliated from each other.

1. Akiyori Takizawa defeated Takato Nakano with the Sleng Teng (8:09).
2. Daichi Kazato & Gouma defeated Fuminori Abe & Masato Kamino when Kazato pinned Kamino with the Opa (8:21).
3. Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT defeated Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga when SAGAT pinned Senga after the Triple Body Press (12:48).
4. FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi defeated Isami Kodaka, Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita when Kubo submitted Kodaka with a Crossface Lock (12:02).
5. Union MAX Title: Takumi Tsukamoto (c) defeated Yasu Urano with the Zudon (18:56).
*V3 for Takumi Tsukamoto.

Yasu Urano said he will take a short break away from BASARA after he failed to win the Union MAX Title from Takumi Tsukamoto. He can’t win the belt while Tsukamoto has it so when he does come back he will instead chase after the IRON FIST TAG Titles. When Urano left, Daichi Kazato entered the ring, bounced from the ropes a bit and left without saying anything. It was only after the show when he explained that was his way of asking for a title shot.

Yusuke Kubo made Isami Kodaka tap out in the 6-Man Tag match. He told Kodaka that he shouldn’t feel but think instead. And this result should give him plenty to think about when Kubo & FUMA challenges Kodaka & Daiki Shimomura for the IRON FIST TAG Titles on 23rd March.
