2. WORLD HINO CLASSIC ~Opening Round~: Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno defeated Makoto Oishi & Bambi by TKO when Iino used the Cross Ass Sexy Lock Ass on Oishi (8:52).

-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Akito defeated Yusuke Okada (c) with an Inside Cradle (7:45 pm). *Akito becomes the 1,565th champion.
-. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Yoshihiko defeated Akito (c) with a Choke Slam (7:47 pm). *Yoshihiko becomes the 1,566th champion.
4. Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & KANON defeated Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Kazuma Sumi when Paul pinned Sumi with a Throwaway German Suplex (9:49).
5. BURNING Vs The 37KAMIINA!: Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama & Yuya Koroku defeated MAO, Shunma Katsumata & Toy Kojima when Koroku submitted Kojima with the Modified Triangle Lancer (13:36).
6. Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya defeated Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani when Hino submitted Okatani with the King Kong Sleeper (10:18).
7. International Special Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Samuray Del Sol defeated Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada when Del Sol pinned Masada with the Solida Del Sol (16:20).
Konosuke Takeshita got a chance to try out some lucha libre by teaming with Samuray Del Sol. The idea was laughed at by Chris Brookes who was only happy to point out that Takeshita cannot wrestle in that style. He was proven right when Takeshita’s attempts to do a tightrope spot on Takeshi Masada failed in a big manner. Del Sol came to the rescue by giving Takeshita his own luchador mask and the two performed double dives onto the other team. Takeshita then blocked the Samurai Driver ’01 from Masada and Samuray took over to pin Masada with the Solida Del Sol. Takeshita admitted the mask felt uncomfortable but he thanked Del Sol for coming to DDT. Masada took the loss in his stride because next week he’s going to Hollywood! He wants DDT to change the show posters to advertise him as “Hollywood Superstar”.
After Yuji Hino won his tag match, an almost Yuki Iino came down to the ring to confront him. Makoto Oishi congratulated Iino for advancing past the Ω Block of the World Hino Classic and then showed a video introducing Iino’s final challenge. It’s “brother” YASSHI! The video explained that YASSHI is Hino’s senior from the same high school wrestling club. Pheromones will have to fight Hino, Oishi & YASSHI at Korakuen Hall on 9th April. If Pheromones win then Iino will get even closer towards having a KO-D Openweight Title shot.
BURNING beat The 37KAMIINA in a match that built up several programs. Tetsuya Endo will soon be defending the DDT Universal Title against MAO, Jun Akiyama is putting the DDT Extreme Title on the line against Shunma Katsumata and both Yuya Koroku and Toy Kojima are fighting for the last spot in the King Of DDT. Koroku picked up the win by tapping out Kojima. However the three wrestlers from The 37KAMIINA are still feeling confident in their chances of succeeding. MAO thinks Endo is scared of him, Katsumata is eager to fight Akiyama and Kojima thinks he can take both Koroku and Hideki Okatani to their limits in the Qualifying Battle.
Kazuma Sumi struck a deal with Kazuki Hirata before their match. If Sumi could beat DAMNATION T.A then he would be allowed to wear the Kazuki GO! glasses and dance to celebrate. Sumi ended up stealing the glasses from Hirata late in the match and was too busy dancing to notice MJ Paul walk up behind him and throw him across the ring with a German Suplex for the finish.
There were a couple of Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title changes setting up the belt’s journey to America next week. Yusuke Okada beat Akito in their scheduled match to become the new champion. Akito rolled him up afterwards to take the belt back. Then Yoshihiko appeared and Choke Slammed Akito for another title change. Yoshihiko then announced in English it is going to Los Angeles as the champion and will be targeting The 37KAMIINA over there!
Iino’s first challenge in the Wolrd Hino Classic was to convince Bambi that he is sexy. According to Oishi, Bambi is an expert on sexy stuff and her proof was using a whip on Pheromones during the match. But Iino & Danshoku Dieno turned the tables by using Pheromones moves on Bambi. With her taken care of, Iino then made Oishi go unconcious with a submission hold that is accruately called the Cross Ass Sexy Lock Ass. After the match Dieno asked Bambi is Iino proved he is sexy. She agreed! That means Iino now qualifies for the World Hino Classic final.
HARASHIMA & Keigo Nakamura are continuing to build momentum towards their KO-D Tag Team Titles match. HARASHIMA said today’s win is a big deal for Nakamura and makes him look forward to the title match. Nakamura pointed out he lost to Yuki Ishida in the D GENERATIONS CUP so today he got to avenge that result.
The King Of DDT 2023 entries are HARASHIMA, Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi, Tetsuya Endo, Jun Akiyama, Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata, MAO, Chris Brookes, Yukio Naya, KANON, Naruki Doi, Kotaro Suzuki, Takeshi Masada, Sanshiro Takagi and the winner of the 3 Way Qualifying Battle on 1st April.

7. International Special Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Samuray Del Sol Vs Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada
Coming out of the anniversary show, Pheromones are demanding that Yuki Iino be chosen as the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. It has been refused by Hisaya Imabayashi and Yuji Hino agrees with the decision. Hino knows Iino is a strong man but he wants nothing to do with that character. At first he said he will only consider giving Iino a title shot if he becomes a serious heavyweight again. Then Makoto Oishi came up with an idea called the World Hino Classic. Pheromones will go through a couple of trial matches and if they win them all then Iino gets his title match. The opening match is being called the Group Of Death because Iino & Danshoku Dieno have to fight the Ω team of Oishi and Bambi. All Pheromones need to do is win this match and they will go straight to the WHC final. What the final is will be revealed if Pheromones make it out of the Group Of Death.

1. Rukiya Ikeda Debut Match: Yuya Koroku Vs Rukiya Ikeda
2. Special Single Match: Yuki Ueno Vs Yuni
3. KO-D Tag Team Titles: MAO & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Keigo Nakamura
A new tag team of HARASHIMA & Keigo Nakamura are next to challenge ShunMao for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. It is the addition of Nakamura to the match that excites MAO & Shunma Katsumata. The two of them have fought HARASHIMA a lot so he’s nothing new. But Nakamura is from the new generation of DDT wrestlers who are all hungry to climb up the ladder. It was Nakamura who wanted to challenge the champions. That took HARASHIMA off guard but he quickly came around on the idea when he realised it is making Nakamura want to work hard.
The elementary school wrestler Yuni finally revealed he was El Unicorn all along and has ditched the mask to start a new chapter in his career. Now in high school, Yuni wants to make a fresh start in wrestling and thinks showing his real face is the best way to go about it. He is back to using the name Yuni but it is now written in katakana instead of hiragana. He is training to grow bigger and stronger for his goal to win the KO-D Title while still in high school. He sees his match against Yuki Ueno as a huge opportunity he does not want to miss.

1. Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao Vs Yuki Arai & HIMAWARI (Special Referee: Shiori Aoki)
2. Princess Of Princess Title: Mizuki (c) Vs Nao Kakuta
Last December Mizuki chose Nao Kakuta to be part of her 10th Anniversary match. This week Kakuta returned the favour by telling Mizuki she wants to fight her for the Princess Of Princess Title. It is a challenge Mizuki says she cannot refuse.
SKE48 idol Shiori Aoki gets to be a pro wrestling referee. There’s a conflict of interest though because Yuki Arai will be wrestling in the match. Does Aoki go on to play favorites or even go the complete opposite way and screw over her fellow idol? Even if she calls everything fair and square, having to officiate a Kyoraku Kyomei match sounds way too much for a rookie referee to handle.

1. Fish Vs Meat Full-Scale Battle! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Shishamo Power, Unagi Mask & Super Unagi Mask Vs Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Naya & Yuki Ishida
The war between fish eaters and meat eaters went lopsided after Kazusada Higuchi betrayed Shishamo Power & Unagi Mask last month. Higuchi revealed he prefers meat over seafood so jumped over to side with Yukio Naya & Yuki Ishida for the next match in the feud. The seafood team looked to be in trouble until the president of Yamada Suisan revealed the company has been developing another Unagi Mask wrestler to even the odds. According to the president, Super Unagi Mask is more well-trained than the regular Unagi Mask. He thinks the two of them would work well together in a seafood wrestling Tag League. Sanshiro Takagi likes the idea and will consider launching Yamada Suisan Pro Wrestling if the seafood team wins their battle against the meat eaters.
Shiro Koshinaka and Rayne Leverkusen will both be on the show.

2. International Special Single Match: Saki Akai Vs Rayne Leverkusen
3. DDT Extreme Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Shunma Katsumata
4. DDT Universal Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs MAO
5. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuji Hino (c) Vs X
So at the moment Hino will be defending the KO-D Title at Yokohama Budokan. He just does not have an official opponent yet. It might be Iino if Pheromones win the World Hino Classic.
Things are going well again for Tetsuya Endo now he is the new DDT Universal Champion. He considers Naruki Doi a friend and wants to see him sticking around in DDT. What Endo does not like is having MAO as his first defence. However the pride of the Miyagi prefecture is on the line with Endo representing Shiroishi City and MAO representing Osaki City. This side will determine which city is the best!
Both ShunMao wrestlers have a chance of becoming double champions at the same time. Shunma Katsumata challenges Jun Akiyama for the DDT Extreme Title. It will be back to the crazy stuff for Akiyama after having such a nice, normal and relaxing match with Kotaro Suzuki.
Rayne Leverkusen is debuting for DDT in April but her only match announced so far is a singles bout against Saki Akai in May.
The insane mascot Chiitan makes its pro wrestling debut. Its presence has already driven Chris Brookes into a murderous rage so he’ll probably be involved in the match. Maybe Pokotan can be a part of it too.
Nick Wayne will be on the show making his first appearance in Japan for DDT.
DDT “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2023”, 23/07/2023 Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan
1. Dramatic Dream Match: Daisuke Sasaki Vs El Desperado
Turns out Daisuke Sasaki kept himself busy while he was out from injury. Instead of staying around in bed he went out, did the work and signed up a dream match for himself against El Desperado from New Japan! Desperado is an interesting figure, constantly referring to the wider pro wrestling scene in Japan on his social media. At times it looked like that was the only interactions with other wrestlers that the public would get to see. But as the scene opens up more in order to get fans back into the arenas Desperado is at the forefront of getting into matches with wrestlers outside of NJPW. In a past life he’s had a little bit of involvement in DDT related shows. He’s been part of a few Monthly Young Communication shows that happened back in 2011. Only recently Sasaki and Desperado fought each other in a tag match that ended in a DQ so there is some bad blood between the two going into this dream bout.

It was revealed yesterday that Konosuke Takeshita is travelling to America to wrestle for AEW next month. He wrestled three matches for them in Jacksonville last year and it only motivated him to come back even bigger. His goal this time is to wrestle on TV shows like Dynamite and Rampage as well as to become a champion against the high level of competition AEW has. His stay will last a lot longer with no return date planned at the moment. He claims he won’t be using a return ticket, he only has an outbound flight in his itinerary. Although he promised he will find a way to come back to DDT for big matches every now and then. He said he is grateful to both DDT and AEW for giving him this opportunity. Takeshita is promoting this as Chapter 2 of his wrestling career.

8. Princess Of Princess Title: Shoko Nakajima (c) Vs Yuki Aino
The new Princess Of Princess Champion doesn’t have to wait long for her first defence. Shoko Nakajima takes on Yuki Aino who is forging a new path on her own now that her sister has graduated. She is confident she can take the lead of Tokyo Joshi Pro like the previous champions have done before her.
Arisuzu aren’t shy about showing off their bond and think it is strong enough to dethrone The Magical Sugar Rabbits. The Princess Tag Team Champions are using their reign to show TJPW a whole new world filled with glitter and sparkles but they warn their challengers there is so much more to them than that.
It’s been a year and a half since Saki Akai was last in TJPW. She pops by again to team with Yuki Arai.
Can’t ask for a tougher second match for Juria Nagano. It’s Karate versus Karate when she has to take on Miyu Yamashita.
This will be Marika Kobashi’s last match in Korakuen Hall.

MAO is also showing a desire to wrestle abroad again and he wants the DDT Universal Title to help him do it. He challenged anyone with an international presence to face him in a title match. 7. After Judgement 2022 Special 6-Man Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & Toui Kojima defeated Tetsuya Endo, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku when Kojima submitted Koroku with a Triangle Choke (22:11).
The 26th year of DDT has gone off to a hot start with plenty to talk about. The main event was the latest tag team battle between The 37KAMIINA and BURNING but this time with a brand new result. For months Toui Kojima has fought to try and beat his classmate Yuya Koroku. Every step of the way was met with failure until today when Kojima finally got his direct win over Koroku! The result didn’t look like it would happen when Koroku hit the Moonsault Press and then applied the Chickenwing Armlock he’s been using to beat his rival. But Kojima used the lessons he learned from Shinya Aoki to counter the move into a Triangle Choke for the tap out. He lived up to his promise of crying tears of joy over finally beating Koroku. Kojima admitted he is still weak and is not ready to be compared to the rest of his stable. He wants to keep training so he can becomes stronger.
Yuki Ueno threw in his support for Kojima along with the rest of The 37KAMIINA. He is so inspired by everyone in the unit doing their best to leave a mark on the world that he wants to do the same in DDT. So he is challenging Tetsuya Endo for the KO-D Openweight Title on 1st May! Endo said if Ueno is confident enough to beat the man who just became champion at Sumo Hall and carry the belt with 25 years of history attached to it then he will accept the challenge. Ueno told him he isn’t just fighting for that but also for the future of DDT. He wants to defeat Endo and lead the company as champion.
As ridiculous as the O-Back Ladder Match was there was a surprising amount of emotion to it. Shunma Katsumata walked out wearing an ALL OUT shirt hoping to remind Yuki Iino of their time together in that group. Iino briefly remembered and did a Haka pose with his old friend but in a flash that memory went away and they had to fight. Katsumata climbed the ladder and grabbed the O-Back but the winner had to wear it. He covered his waist in a towel to put it on but Iino attacked him with Danshoku Dieno & Yumehito Imanari’s help. Together they performed “Pheromone Magic” on Katsumata and he suddenly found out he was somehow now wearing nothing underneath his towel! He gave up to avoid further shame, resulting in a successful DDT Extreme Title defence for Iino. Dieno told Katsumata he previously agreed to wear the O-Back by itself if he lost. He is a man of his word so he did just that and shook Iino’s hand. Iino then blindsided him with a Brainbuster to humiliate him even more. Dieno asked who would want to challenge Iino for the Extreme Title after seeing this?
Sometime before the show, a desperate Michael Nakazawa went searching around town for MAO so he could ambush him. He was lured into a counter attack where MAO ran Nakazawa over with a van! Nakazawa did show up to the match wrapped head to toe in bandages. He looked like a physical wreck and couldn’t even stand up by himself. MAO decided to take advantage but it turned out to be a trick! The real Nakazawa ran down to the ring and attacked MAO with a crutch. He then used his signature tricks like rubbing his body in slippery lotion and applying the Ultimate Venom AEW Arm. However MAO fought back and pinned Nakazawa with the Super Michinoku Driver II for the win.
MAO called the DDT Universal Title defence an easy win. He wants to use his champion status to wrestle overseas so asked for his next challenger to be somebody with presence. Out walked Asuka! She just returned from wrestling in Italy and has a UK tour lined up this summer so she matches all of MAO’s requests. Asuka said the “VENY’s” of the world deserve that title. MAO accepted the challenge and wants it to be at the Yokohama Budokan on 1st May.
Kazuki Hirata knew just like everyone else that he has no chance of beating Jun Akiyama in a fair fight. He was moments away from losing easily to the Exploder Suplex when he grabbed the microphone and called a stop to the match. Hirata can’t win a wrestling match but he can beat Akiyama in a quiz! Suddenly the match turned into a trivia contest with chairs in the ring to sit on and a toy hammer to hit each other with when somebody got a question wrong. 1st Question: What tragedy happened to Hirata before a show in Yokohama Raidant Hall? Hirata answered he was bit by a Chihuahua. Correct! Question 2: Who was Hirata’s opponent in a fantasy card Keisuke Ishii once put together? Hirata answered Yuji Okabayashi. Correct! Question 3: On 4th January, 2002 the name of the defending GHC Heavyweight Champion is… Akiyama cut off the question to answer it was himself. That wasn’t the question thought so he was incorrect! The rest of the question asked who was the child who wanted to skip school to go see the match and got angry at his mother? Hirata answered it was himself. Correct! Hirata defeated Akiyama in the Quiz Showdown! Hirata hit Akiyama with the toy hammer to celebrate and Akiyama no sold it. DDT then announced that Akiyama’s 30th Anniversary show will be held in Korakuen Hall on 18th September. Akiyama thinks he will have a proper match against Hirata on that show.
The new KO-D Tag Team Champions are on shaky ground after finding out just how strong their opponents are. Yukio Naya showed off the power he has gained from teaming with Yuji Hino and made Masahiro Takanashi submit for the victory. Chris Brookes was also left in agony from Hino’s chops. Naya told the fans to look forward to them taking the Tag Titles from CDK.
A lesson we learned today is nobody messes with Hisaya Imabayashi except Pheromones! Their match against DAMNATION T.A was going the usual lewd direction with Imabayashi threatening to cancel the match. This time however Daisuke Sasaki came to defend Imabayashi from Pheromones, only to turn on him and attack all of them with a chair. Minoru Fujita & MJ Paul joined in on the beatdown and had to be disqualified. Sasaki complained that Imabayashi doesn’t have the right to cancel their matches. He threatened they will attack him again if he tries to stop the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match on 10th April. They will even attack his wife and kids to prove their point! Dieno was in tears over what happened to Imabayashi. He is an innocent person in that doesn’t deserve to get attacked this way. Pheromones claim they are all about justice and swore to get revenge on DAMNATION T.A!
A full force Eruption opened up the main show, beating a foursome made up of DISASTER BOX wrestlers and the rookie Yuki Ishida. Those four were all called “The Pig Brothers” by Hideki Okatani. He even scored the win in the end and told the fans to remember the Red Fight Spirit of Eruption!
On the pre-show Antonio Honda successfully defended the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title against Pokotan. Honda summoned the power of Triple H to aid him on his way to victory. After the match Shinichiro Kawamatsu from the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly was supposed to hand the belt over to Honda but Pokotan got into another fight with Honda. The two of them knocked each other out and it dawned on Kawamatsu that he could pin Honda. He did so after encouragement from the fans and became the new Iron Man Champion! Kawamatsu joked if this is really what the DDT fans wanted to see and he promised to defend the title for all 24 hours as hard as he can.
Away from all the matches, the biggest news to come from the show was Konosuke Takeshita announcing he is going on an indefinite expedition to the United States where he will wrestle for AEW! His final match in DDT before he leaves will be on 10th April. He is ready to take on the challenge of the world and begin Chapter 2 of his career. He also promised to do his best in DDT before he goes away and hopes when he comes back Ueno will be the KO-D Champion so he can challenge him.
Endo was presented with the brand new redesigned KO-D Openweight Title belt from Sanshiro Takagi at the start of the show. Endo said it is more brilliant looking than the previous belt he is happy to be the one to build up its history.
The next Korakuen Hall show on 10th April will feature Saki Akai & Maya Yukihi against Bambi & Cherry to celebrate DDT’s history with women’s wrestling. Akai is honored to face the two women from DDT’s past and also hopes to create something new with Yukihi.
A mystery wrestler who would like to wrestle in DDT is being promoted to appear at Yokohama Radiant Hall on 1st April.
GANBARE☆WRESTLING “WE WILL ROCK YOU 2019”, 23/03/2019 Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall 168 Fans – No Vacancy
1. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii, Takeshi Okada & Mitsuo Momota defeated Kouki Iwasaki, Chikara & Shuhei Washida when Ishii submitted Washida with a Double Arm Neck Lock (8:02).
2. Heisei Last GanJo Special Tag Match: “Showa”-ko (Bambi) & “Heisei”-ko (Cherry) defeated Moeka Haruhi & HARUKAZE when “Showa”-ko pinned HARUKAZE with the Omata (11:48).
3. Tiger Vs Dragon: Shuichiro Katsumura & Shota defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Daiki Shimomura when Shota submitted Shimomura with the Sharpshooter (9:59).
4. The Challenge Of Cameraman Imanari: Yumehito Imanari Vs Minoru Fujita ended in a Double Knockout (18:08).
5. Union Pro Wrestling Memoirs! Daihyo Vs Daihyo, Single Match Of Fate ~ No DQ Match: Isami Kodaka defeated Ken Ohka with the Isamuashi Zan (15:14).
The first singles match between Ken Ohka and Isami Kodaka in many, many years (only one I could find happened in 2007) was a bloody one. It was revealed at the start of the show that the match was now No Disqualifications. Ohka’s head got bloodied when Kodaka threw him into the ring post outside. Kodaka then caused more damage by focusing on the head wound. Ohka returned the favour and busted Kodaka open before hitting him with the Spear Of Fire. Ohka hit a Superplex but Kodaka fired back with a Top Rope Frankensteiner. Kodaka then used a Wrist Clutch to get behind Ohka and hit him with a Knee Strike to the back of the head. That left Ohka as a sitting duck for the Isamuashi Zan.
After the match Kodaka joked that Ohka needs just a little bit more wrestling practice. He also brought up that the first thing he noticed when he showed up in Ganbare☆Wrestling was the enthusiastic atmosphere in the room because of the Ganpro fans. They shook hands and Kodaka declared that Sento Minzoku will withdraw from Ganpro. The feud is over. Kodaka then saw Cherry standing in the corner of the room and said he wanted Naomi Susan to be at the show today too. Kodaka finished his promo by saying even though he lost to Ryota Nakatsu in BASARA, he won’t give up and will climb back up to the top of the independents one more time! Finally, Ohka should call him if he has any problems. Ohka invited him for a drink but Kodaka turned him down because he has a match in K-DOJO tomorrow to prepare for. When Sento Minzoku left, Ohka praised Shuichiro Katsumura & Shota for winning their match against Ryuichi Sekine & Daiki Shimomura earlier. Ganpro may have ultimately lost the feud but the group will continue to wrestle otherwise there will be no growth for them.
There was one other notable result in the Ganpro Vs Sento Minzoku feud. Yumehito Imanari wasn’t able to beat Minoru Fujita but he didn’t lose either. After a hard fought battle, a strike exchange left both wrestlers down on the mat. Imanari didn’t have enough strength to get back up so instead he used all of his remaining energy to clasp onto Fujita’s leg and keep him from getting up too, resulting in both men getting counted out and the match ending in a Double Knockout. Fujita was confused but he accepted the result because he had no strength left to stand without any support.
Bambi returned to Ganpro in the guise of her old gimmick “Showa”-ko. She wore a mask and a school gym outfit. Cherry joined in by becoming “Heisei”-ko. She wore a sailor uniform and had her face painted to look like heavy ganguro makeup. It looks veeeeery dodgy without context so let’s just leave it at that.

1. Enjo-gun, Osaka’s First Visit!: Daina Mido & Hiroto Okubo defeated Mitomi Masayuki & Shibata when Okubo pinned Shibata with a German Suplex (11:15).
2. Ganbare Wrestling In OSAKA Special Single Match: Hiro Tonai defeated Yukinori Abe with an Armbar (10:44).
3. No Protein 15,000 Calorie Intake Bombardment Double Sweet Death Match: Bambi defeated Yumehito Imanari with the Umaibō Assisted Standing Shining Wizard (9:50).
4. I Return To Chiba’s Grace In Osaka: Yasu Urano & MIYAWAKI defeated Minoru Fujita & Shinichiro Tominaga when MIYAWAKI pinned Tominaga with the Death Penalty (17:00).
5. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Ken Ohka (c) defeated Atsushi Maruyama with the Fire Spear (18:35). *V1 for Ken Ohka.
The champion Ken Ohka was able to beat Atsushi Maruyama even with the challenger getting support from Yasu Urano and MIYAWAKI at ringside. Urano got a few punches in when the ref was distracted and MIYAWAKI pulled the ref out of the ring when Ohka had Maruyama pinned. Maruyama gave Ohka a Low Blow and hit his TAJIRI certified Buzzsaw Kick. Ohka kicked out of the pin and countered another Buzzsaw Kick into a Dragon Screw. He then hit a Dragon Suplex and finished the match with the Fire Spear. Despite the dirty fighting, Ohka was happy to get his first title defence with Maruyama in Osaka. He spoke about his memories of Delfin Arena and how if it wasn’t for that place he may not be here today. Maruyama congratulated Ohka but said he would never beat him twice in a row. Ohka had to correct him and brought up the match they had back in December, which Ohka also won. Ohka said he wants to defend the title in Kansai, Kyushu, Hokkaido, the United States and Canada! If the Olympics ever include pro wrestling as an official sport of the Games then he wants to defend the title there too!
Yasu Urano wondered why Ganpuro reached out to book him for the show. He figured it out when he saw he was going against Shinichiro Tominaga. The match was to rekindle his memories of K-DOJO. He also got to see what MIYAWAKI and Minoru Fujita had been up to. Urano admitted he hates Ohka but it was nice to see his old friends find something like Ganpuro to support.
Sugar, sweets, candy, chocolate and crisps. Anything that will rot your teeth was on display for the 15,000 Calorie Double Sweet Death Match. There was also an exploding cracker launcher set up in one of the corners. Yumehito Imanari and Bambi fought and force fed each other for almost 10 gruelling minutes. Bambi had to load her kneepad with candy to knock Imanari down and out with the Standing Shining Wizard. After the match Imanari talked about his other job working on DDT’s video team. Part of his work is to look over old tapes and he got to see a lot of Bambi’s matches back when she wrestled as “Showa”. He told Bambi she looked so thin back then but he is happy to see how big she is in comparison now. According to Imanari, Bambi passes his test! Bambi hugged Imanari but the two accidentally fell into the corner where the cracker launcher was and the collision made it explode.
Enjo-gun fell apart when Shibata accidentally hit Mitomi Masayuki with a Superman Punch. The two then fought each other. Shibata grabbed a can of beer and swung at Masayuki. He missed and found himself right into the arms of Hiroto Okubo. When Okubo gave Shibata a German Suplex, his partner Daina Mido drank the beer. Mido & Okuba promised to work hard so they can get more recognition and get regular spots in Ganpuro.
This past week in Orlando, the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title went through a series of title changes all around the city. There were many pro wrestling shows held throughout Orlando and the Iron Man Title was seen in several of them. The first title change happened on 30th March when Joey Ryan lost the title to Brandi Rhodes on a WrestlePro show. The show promoter Pat Buck then won the title backstage later in the night. Buck was later pinned by Ryan. So far, so good.
The next day Ryan defended the title in an Over The Top Rope Battle Royal at the WrestleCon Super Show. Ryan was pinned by The Underground Luchador who afterwards revealed himself to be Matt Striker. Ryan, who wasn’t eliminated because it was Over The Top Rope rules only, threw Striker out of the ring to eliminate him and win back the belt. The match ended with Swoggle eliminating Ryan to become champion. Ryan quickly won the belt back but his celebration was then interrupted by The Sandman! One Singapore Cane beating later and The Sandman is champ. Later backstage Swoggle snuck up on a sleeping Sandman and pinned him, then Joey did the same to Swoggle. So at the end of the night, Joey had the belt. Got it? Because it’s going to get a bit more hectic.
Many more changes happened on April Fool’s Day. First, a match between Joey and The Primate at What Culture Pro Wrestling was interrupted by Jack The Jobber pinning Joey to win the title. Joey won the belt back but then lost it to Joe Hendry. However, Hendry declared that he hates comedy wrestling so he threw the belt into a trash bin. An official decision was made to declare the Trash Bin as the new champion! Jack The Jobber pinned the Bin, Joey pinned Jack and then ran off to the WrestleCon Women’s Super Show. While there, Shayna Baszler submitted Joey with an Armbar. Eddie Kingston stole the belt backstage. He was declared the champion when Baszler gave up searching for the belt. Kingston then traded the belt to Joey for some cigarettes.
Sunday was a quiet day in comparison. With all the attention on WrestleMania, there weren’t as many shows being held elsewhere in the city. But in the early hours of the morning Beyond Wrestling was running a midnight show. Joey Ryan was pinned by Joey Janela in a Mixed Tag Match. When the show was over Janela was ambushed by The Invisible Man! So right now at the time of writing, The Invisible Man is your Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion!

5. I Will Not Give Up Tag Tournament – Final: Nobuhiro Tsurumaki & Chikara defeated Yumehito Imanari & Bambi when Chikara pinned Imanari with the Saber Chop (5:45).
6. World’s Strongest Ganbare☆Tag Tournament – Final: Kenso Ohka & KAZMA SAKAMOTO defeated Ken Ohka & Ganbare The Great when Kenso Ohka submitted Ken Ohka with a Figure Four Leg Lock (17:32).
The second show of the day featured the remaining rounds of the World’s Strongest Ganbare☆Tag Tournament. It began with Ken Ohka & Ganbare The Great entering the ring to the Big Japan theme song. Ohka wondered why they were using that music. Ganbare said he chose the song because they were taking part in a big Japanese pro wrestling show. The song played again when they left the ring and the crowd chanted “Dai Nippon!” at them.
In the semi-finals Shin Ganbare☆Wrestling eliminated Shinichiro Tominaga & Hi69 while Ohka & Ganbare advanced over Yukihiro Abe & Keisuke Ishii. In the final, KAZMA SAKAMOTO unmasked Ganbare, revealing that it really was Minoru Fujita under the mask. Kenso Ohka targeted Ken Ohka’s leg effectively enough for him to tap out to a Figure Four Leg Lock. Kenso complained that there was no trophy then praised SAKAMOTO for being best, kindest tag wrestler ever. When they left, Ken Ohka called for Fujita to come over to him. Fujita put his mask back on and went back to his Ganbare character. Ohka admitted he knew it was Fujita all along and that their defeat was not his fault. Ohka said he has never won a tournament but more opportunities will come along. He then joked that Fujita can go to over Big Japan. Fujita threatened to quit instead even though he doesn’t know why he would do that.
A second tournament took place throughout the show but this one was done using Losers Advance rules. I Will Not Give Up Tag Tournament featured all of the teams that were eliminated in Round 1. Both Enjo-gun and Shuichiro Katsumura & Takafumi Ito won their matches so they survived the embarrassment of being in the final. That went to the teams of Yumehito Imanari & Bambi and Nobuhiro Tsurumaki & Chikara. Chikara overcame his hesitation to hit Bambi to win the match, using as many Saber Chops as his heart desired. Imanari & Bambi were “rewarded” with the title of Weakest Team. Imanari blamed Bambi for their failure because she recently lost weight. To make up for this Imanari challenged Bambi to a Double Sweet Death Match in Osaka on 30th April. Imanari wants to fill Bambi with 15,000 calories of candy!
