NωA Is Splitting Up!

December 12, 2017

NωA announced today that the unit will disband on 28th January and their final match together as a team will be at the DDT Korakeun Hall show on that date. This was a decision made by all three members of the group as they are all ready to move on with their careers. Makoto Oishi explained that even though it was fun and rewarding to be a wrestling idol, he realised that is was becoming a hindrance for both MAO and Shunma Katsumata. He spoke to both of them about breaking up the unit and they both agreed. They went ahead with the plan after getting permission from Sanshiro Takagi. MAO admits he was reluctantly performing with NωA for a while now. On the one hand he got a lot of positive experience as both a wrestler and a music composer. But on the other hand he also got a lot of experience this year away from NωA by teaming with Mike Bailey. He sees a future with him and Bailey working together but he struggles to see a future with NωA if he stayed with them. Shunma Katsumata regrets not fulfilling his goals as a musician. He did not release an album and he never got to do a live one man performance inside the Tokyo Dome. But he wants more opportunities to wrestle in DDT and he especially wants to wrestle more people than just the T2Hide unit over and over. He can at least be happy that NωA are splitting up on good terms.

In the run up to their final match, DDT wants NωA to perform throughout January on the D-King Grand Prix shows. The match schedule for the tour is limited because of the tournament so no decisions have been made yet. When asked about their favourite memories together Katsumata said it was performing at Saitama Super Arena, MAO said it was performing on the same event as Kinniku Shōjo Tai and releasing a CD and Oishi said it was performing in rural towns and having two friends to rely on. In their last message to their fanbase, Katsumata said that they will all continue to wrestle so they still want support from their fans. MAO appreciated the cheers since it carried him through the hard times. Oishi can only say thank you because they were never really idols in the first place. It will be irresponsible for him to continue acting as one so he is looking forward to being himself again.

A question was brought up asking who should be their opponents in their last match together. They figured maybe they should have one last battle with T2Hide then they could all go out drinking together afterwards. NωA also plan on releasing a Best Of CD featuring their songs “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU”, “Going my ωay” and “ωe are the HERO”. They said that they carefully chose to include those three songs after much deliberating over their back catalogue. At this point the press conference was interrupted by Danshoku Dino. The DDT Producer never agreed to let NωA split up and will challenge the team to a match on 24th December. If Dino’s team wins then NωA must stay together and produce a new song. If NωA then they are allowed to split up on 28th January.

Nonoko To Graduate From Tokyo Joshi Pro

December 12, 2017

On 6th December, Nonoko held a press conference to announce she will be graduating from Tokyo Joshi Pro on 3rd February, 2018. When Nonoko formed the Super Milk Combination with Yuna Manase, she felt it was her best chance of achieving her goal of winning a championship. After they lost to the Miracle Apricots last month Nonoko came to the conclusion that she had reached her peak in Tokyo Joshi. It is difficult to make a pro wrestling career last forever so Nonoko feels that now is the time for her to leave Tokyo Joshi and move on to somewhere new. She thanked Sanshiro Takagi, Tetsuya Koda and the Tokyo Joshi roster for giving her the opportunity. She is especially grateful towards Yumehito Imanari because it was him who convinced her to audition for Tokyo Joshi back in 2013. She describes Tokyo Joshi as a place to find dreams. She found hers there but now it is time to walk towards a new dream. She would like to become an actress, either on camera or by doing voice work. To do that she needs to find somewhere that offers a bigger spotlight. A reporter asked if she can become the Momoe Yamaguchi of the pro wrestling world. Nonoko said she would look glitteringly beautiful with a microphone next to her face. She then broke into tears when she was asked about her favourite memories. She thanked her fans for supporting her. Becoming a wrestler was fun, painful and she learned a lot about life through it.

Imanari was in attendance and offered some words to Nonoko at the end. He first met Nonoko when she auditioned to be in the DPG music group. He recognised her from gravure videos and felt that she was more suited for pro wrestling than music. He convinced her to join Toyko Joshi and since then he thinks she has dominated the world with her Boinmaker and remain an important figure in pro wrestling history. Now it is time for Nonoko to bloom as an actress and he wants to help. He will direct a romantic movie and he wants Nonoko to be the lead actress! Nonoko was excited by the news. She even remembers that Imanari promised to cast her in a movie when they met at the DPG audition. Imanari promises the movie will be made and it will be even be shown at the Cannes Film Festival! Good luck, Nonoko!
