*V2 for Happy Motel.

The show began with a tribute to Koichiro Kimura, who passed away at 44 years old on 28th October. Kimura was a part of DDT from the very beginning, both as himself and also as the intergalactic indie sleaze (and possibly Jewish) phenomenon Super Uchu Power. He was a DDT regular in one form or another until 2006 and he made sporadic appearances for the company until 2008. Kimura was a 3 time KO-D Openweight Champion (once as himself and twice as Uchu) and a 2 time KO-D Tag Team Champion with MIKAMI (both times as Uchu). MIKAMI held a portrait of Kimura while a moment of silence was held.

The main event was a chance for the new generation of DDT to make a statement. Happy Motel and Team Dream Futures fought for over half an hour with the KO-D Tag Team Titles on the line. Konosuke Takeshita pinned Keisuke Ishii with the German Suplex to mark their 2nd defence of the titles. An exhausted Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo said Ishii and Shigehiro Irie were both truly strong wrestlers. However, Ishii yelled that he will not lose to Takeshita and had to be pulled back by Irie. When Ishii & Irie left, Takeshita said the four of them will continue to make DDT interesting. They were then suddenly challenged by Makoto Oishi and his not so mystery partner Shiori Asahi! They will face Happy Motel for the titles at Korakuen Hall on 30th November.

The No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Title did not leave a good impression in the semi-main event. Soma Takao got to be in the ring with HARASHIMA but he wound up getting pinned by Yasu Urano when the Gin And Tonic was countered into a Sunset Flip. Urano rubbed it in afterwards by pointing out the runner up of the Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament defeated the winner of the tournament in a proper wrestling match. Urano declared himself as the No. 1 Contender but Amon Tsurumi and even HARASHIMA objected. HARASHIMA defended Takao by suggesting he might have been kind of nervous today. Urano then asked for a singles match with Soma to determine who gets the title shot. Tsurumi agreed and booked the match for Osaka on 15th November. Urano then tried to sneak away with the KO-D Title but HARASHIMA caught him.

The mystery partner of Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi turned out to be Oishi’s old partner Shiori Asahi! Dino didn’t even wait for the match to announce it, he just casually said Asahi was on his team at the beginning of the show. He and Oishi still made a big deal out of his ring introduction when he came out for the match and it became a running joke for the show. Sanshiro Takagi brought out a fire extinguisher for Kazuki Hirata’s big entrance but it was also used to spray their opponents. Oishi & Asahi brought back their patented Cactus Flower finisher to win the match. Afterwards Asahi said the experience felt like Hell and he was against the idea of wrestling today. Still, he now has a championship match to look forward to.

Antonio Honda beat DJ Nira thanks to a botched Backslide Pin. Nira attempted the move but he was too weak to do it properly. The result was Honda rolling on top of Nira and Nira submitting from the weight pressing down on him.

After getting a rare pinfall victory at the Tokyo Ramen Show during the week, Gota Ihashi asked for his match against Akito to be for the DDT Extreme Title. Tsurumi rejected the idea but Ihashi ignored him and tried to bring a ladder into the match. The plan backfired when everytime Ihashi climbed the ladder, Akito either pulled him off or tipped over the ladder. Ihashi soon successfully made it to the top but when he leapt off it, Akito moved out of the way and locked on an arm submission for the victory. After the match MIKAMI approached Akito asking for a title shot. MIKAMI was the first ever Extreme Champion and the perfect challenger for Akito to beat in order to make the title his own. The match will take place in Sendai on 23rd November which just so happens to be the 5th anniversary of Akito’s pro wrestling debut.

A special 6-Man Tag Team match is booked for 30th November Korakuen show. T2Hide takes on Gorgeous Matsuno and the Brahman Brothers!

The card for DNA 1 on 28th November was revealed. There will be four singles matches featuring the rookie wrestlers. The winners will then team together in an 8-Man Tag Team match against a team of guest wrestlers to be announced. The single matches are Kazusada Higuchi Vs Kota Umeda, Shun Miyatake Vs Koju Iwasaki, Shunma Katsumata Vs Dai Suzuki and Tomoya Kawamura Vs Ryota Nakatsu.

*Danshoku Dino fails in V3. Akito becomes the 30th DDT Extreme Champion!
7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo defeated Kota Ibushi & Kenny Omega (c) when Takeshita pinned Omega with a Cross Arm German Suplex (25:13).
*The Golden Lovers fail in V7. Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo becomes the 50th KO-D Tag Team Champions!

Three title changes were among the highlights from today’s show, the final day fans could vote in the DDT Dramatic General Election. In the main event Konosuke Takeshita & Tetsuya Endo scored a massive upset victory over the Golden Lovers to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles. For weeks the two young wrestlers were looked down upon by Kenny Omega and even Kota Ibushi a little bit. With Antonio Honda cheering them on from their corner, Takeshita was able to hit the Touchdown on Omega followed by the Sky Twister Press from Endo for a nearfall. Endo went outside to block Ibushi while Takeshita used a Cross Arm German Suplex to finally pin Omega. After the match Kenny admitted defeat and said he leaves the future of DDT to the new champions. Takeshita & Endo thanked the fans for their support and said they will continue to work up to the top.

The DDT Extreme Title changed hands in the semi-main event. Akito beat Danshoku Dino in a Nobody Knows Rules match. The rules were convoluted to say the least. One count pinfalls could end the match, speaking English was banned, complaining about feeling pain was banned, rope breaks were banned, trainees acted as lumberjacks outside the ring and 3 count pinfalls were awarded for both kissing and submitting opponents. Daisuke Kiso needed to have the rules written down just to figure out what was going on. Akito hit the Kinniku Buster on Dino and then he kissed him. Akito then said it was a dream come true for him to face Danshoku Dino in a title match at Korakuen Hall. He was glad to have met him. Kiso recognised that as a confession of love and awarded Akito the match and the Extreme Title!

Finishing off the trio of title changes, the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship now belongs to T2Hide! The match was all about Kazuki Hirata and his Magnum HIRATA antics. He had Shun Miyatake (Trainee) and Hiroshi Fukuda join him dressed as women for his dancing entrance. Shigehiro Irie came close to pinning Hirata several times but his Beast Bomber was countered into a Cradle for the upset. Most surprised of all was Hirata himself. He said he works hard and takes wrestling seriously. Then he started dancing again.

DDT announced a new project dedicated to their new trainees. DDT New Attitude will produce its first show in Kitizawa on 28th November. Shunma Katsumata, Shun Miyatake (Trainee) and Union rookie Tomoya Kawamura join 4 new trainees for the event. In Miyatake’s case it will be recognised as his official debut match. The DNA trainees so far have only been identified as Nakatsu, Umeda, Iwasaki and Higuchi. Nakatsu is from Kyoto and has participated in “underground mixed martial arts”. Umeda is a kickboxer from Kumamoto. Iwasaki is from Sapporo and has trained under Kenichi Yamamoto. Higuchi is a sumo wrestler from Hokkaido.

DJ Nira & Super Sasadango Machine came up with the perfect plan to defeat HARASHIMA. They stole his contact lenses! Nira even swallowed them to make sure HARASHIMA will never get them back. With blurred vision, HARASHIMA was ineffective for a lot of the match. Sasadango stripped Yasu Urano of his shirt and bandana and put them on himself to trick HARASHIMA into thinking he was Urano. HARASHIMA then hit the real Urano with the Somato. Sasadango gave Urano several Lehman Shocks but HARASHIMA came to the rescue by wearing Amon Tsurumi’s glasses. He hit Sasadango with the Somato and Urano got the pin.

An update was given for DDT’s “Wrestling Cannonball” movie that will soon be in production. If I have the translation right the movie will follow three different teams driving to different locations and having matches against local wrestlers. Team A consists of Minoru Suzuki, Sanshiro Takagi & Jun Kasai with Muscle Sakai as their cameraman. Team B is KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi. Team C is Danshoku Dino, HARASHIMA & Kota Ibushi with Michael Nakazawa accompanying them.
