The new look DNA welcomes Kazushi Sakuraba and LEONA to its relaunch next month. The two will take on Kouki Iwasaki & Mizuki Watase. The four of them appeared at a press conference with Sakuraba wearing a white jiu-jitsu belt over his suit. Sakuraba explained he wore it to represent his first time in DNA because it is the first belt you earn in jiu-jitsu. Iwasaki is only focusing on Sakuraba and hopes to fight him one on one at some point. Watase is thrilled to fight the man he watched on TV back in elementary school. However he and LEONA had a war of words over whether or not LEONA is worthy of being in the match. Sakuraba admitted he hasn’t seen LEONA wrestle but he thinks they can work together as a team.
Kotaro Suzuki was impressed by what he saw at the last DNA show and said he would be happy to come back. Shunma Katsumata took him up on that offer. Katsumata wants DNA to fight as fierce as Suzuki does.
DDT “DNA 27”, 16/11/2016 Hanayashiki Park Hall 163 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House
1. Guanchulo defeated Yuki Ueno with the Death Valley Driver (8:09).
2. Dai Suzuki Comeback: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Dai Suzuki with a Single Leg Crab Hold (10:43).
3. Average Height 163cm Minimum Load: Hercules Senga & Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Daiki Shimomura & Nobuhiro Shimatani when Oosugi pinned Shimatani with the PICTURES (7:09).
4. Shiori Asahi defeated MAO with a Cradle (9:19).
5. Kazusada Higuchi defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Goten (12:16).
6. Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Kouki Iwasaki & Mizuki Watase when Nakatsu pinned Watase with the V Slider (16:40).
An angry Mizuki Watase fought against Cavalry but ultimately fell to Ryota Nakatsu. A High Kick, a German Suplex and the V Slider won the match for Cavalry. Nakatsu’s night wasn’t done however as Kouki Iwasaki challenged him to a match one on one. Kazusada Higuchi then came out and said he will stop being silent. He also wants a match with Nakatsu. Iwasaki and Higuchi began arguing over who should get the match until Nakatsu told them he is willing to fight either of them in a single or a tag match. Nakatsu then repeatedly shouted “BASARA is better than DNA!”
An injury kept Shunma Katsumata from entering the DNA Grand Prix. His goal for the tournament was to beat Higuchi on route to winning the entire tournament. He at least got his chance to face Higuchi here. He focused on hitting Higuchi with Dropkicks until he could put Higuchi in position for the Swan Dive X Factor. But Higuchi caught him in midair and delivered the Oklahoma Stampede. Katsumata still had life left in him but Higuchi put him away with the Goten.
MAO was overwhelmed by the gap of experience between himself and Shiori Asahi. He tried to prepare for Asahi’s intelligence, stamina and movement pattern but could not beat his opponent. He still saw the match as a good opportunity to learn from a highly technical wrestler.
Dai Suzuki had been missing from DNA and the rest of DDT since March. His goal for his return match was using pro wrestling to make people happy. However when Konosuke Takeshita submitted him with a Crab Hold, Suzuki refused to shake his hand after the match. He claims to be filled with happy feelings but that means nothing if he does not improve and work harder.

7. Saku Specialty! Chikuma River Summer Time Special 6-Man Tag Team Match: Toru Owashi, HARASHIMA & Yoshihiro Takayama defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Antonio Honda & Shiro Koshinaka when Owashi pinned Honda with the Diving Body Press (17:51).
This was DDT’s second show in Nagano since Toru Owashi was hired as the company’s sale manager for the region. His team were rewarded with boxes of apples, chocolate and chanko-nabe from Owashi’s family restaurant for winning the main event. Owashi wondered if the prizes were just a variety of stuff taken from his home. He got the win with his old finishing move the Diving Body Press.
DAMNATION survived a close call against Shuten-dōji but they escaped with the KO-D Tag Team Titles still in their grasps. Daisuke Sasaki’s Swandive Elbow hit Tetsuya Endo instead of their opponents. KUDO would have then won with a Sandwich PK followed by the Diving Double Knee Drop to Sasaki but Endo stopped the referee from counting to three. Yukio Sakaguchi hit Endo with the Right Knee Of God while KUDO readied Sasaki for a Buzzsaw Kick. Sasaki ducked the kick and caught KUDO with the Sasaki Hurricanrana for the flash pin. DAMNATION were rewarded with liquor for winning but Sasaki cut off the ceremony to make a demand. He refused to do anymore Tag Title defences and wants DAMNATION to be declared the permanent champions! Konosuke Takeshita & Antonio Honda came forth to throw out a challenge. Takeshita wants a tag title shot but it won’t be with Honda. It will be with “Speedball” Mike Bailey! Sasaki refused but GM Amon Tsurumi confirmed the match will got ahead in Osaka on 4th December. Takeshita warned the champions that both him and Bailey are coming for revenge on DAMNATION!
The last time Danshoku Dino wrestled in Saku he successfully transformed the area into a Gay Town. This time he wanted to rename the chanko-nabe recipe created by Toru Owashi’s family into something too lewd for me to understand. Kouki Iwasaki objected to this and vowed to protect the restaurant from Dino. Unfortunately for Iwasaki he got his face smushed into Dino’s backside and was then pinned by Keisuke Ishii. Dino proudly called out the recipe’s new lewd name after the match.
Today’s show was a special occasion for Mizuki Watase because he got to wrestle in his hometown. Watase almost pinned Akito with some help from Kazusada Higuchi but Yasu Urano pulled the referee out of the ring mid-count. The distraction allowed Akito to recover and beat Watase with the Hanamasa, spoiling the hometown hero’s return.
Nobuhiro Shimatani continues his losing streak against Daiki Shimomura. Even worse he is still the King Of Dark Champion.
DDT “DNA 26 ~ DNA GRAND PRIX 2016 FINAL ROUND”, 21/10/2016 Shinjuku FACE 199 Fans

4. DNA Grand Prix – B Block: Mizuki Watase (4) defeated Guanchulo (6) with a Cradle Crush (10:18).
5. DNA Grand Prix – B Block: Mike Bailey (8) defeated Ryota Nakatsu (8) with the Toryochagi (10:24).

8. DNA Grand Prix – Final: Mike Bailey defeated Kazusada Higuchi with the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop (12:48).
“Speedball” Mike Bailey is the DNA Grand Prix winner! The final came down to him and Kazusada Higuchi with a one way flight to New York on the line. After five days straight of tough matches both of them still gave it all that they had to win. Bailey used his Middle Kicks, Tornado Kicks and Shooting Star Knee Drops to cut down his opponent. But Higuchi’s size and power kept him standing to deliver some big drop moves. However Higuchi took one kick too many and finally fell allowing Bailey to hit the Shooting Star Double Knee Drop. Finally the unbeaten big man was defeated! Bailey said he was proud to be a part of the first ever DNA-GP and the match he just had with Higuchi will forever be in his chest. When asked what his next goal is Bailey said he wants to win all the championships in DDT. He also wants revenge on DAMNATION! Bailey was given the prize plane ticket to New York but surprisingly he turned it down. He said he doesn’t need the ticket and it should go to someone who needs it more than him. He then pointed to Higuchi. Higuchi said he was frustrated to see a samurai like Bailey offer him mercy. However their match taught him that there is a big world out there and there is a lot he needs to learn before he can chase after the KO-D Openweight Title again. So he accepted the ticket.
There were five wrestlers who were still in the running going into the final day. In A Block Higuchi was undefeated and only had Kouki Iwasaki left standing in his way. But if Iwasaki could beat him then he would sneak into the final because of the Direct Confrontation tiebreaker rule. Over in B Block Ryota Nakatsu was in a similar situation with Mike Bailey. However Guanchulo was also bringing up the rear and certain results could have led to a 3 Way tie finish. In the end Higuchi beat Iwasaki to finish his A Block run on top and undefeated. Iwasaki locked in the Triangle Choke as hard as he could and held on after a few Power Bombs but Higuchi dramatically Spiral Bombed his way out of it. Iwasaki had a little fight left afterwards but the Doctor Bomb put him away.
Bailey’s road to the final led him to Ryota Nakatsu. The BASARA wrestler was a last minute entrant into the Grand Prix but he blew through the competition. However Bailey was the one to finally stop him after a kick heavy battle. Bailey escaped from an Ankle Lock and hit a Sliding Tornado Kick for the three count. Although they were now tied with 8 points each, this win meant Bailey went through to the final. Nakatsu was knocked silly by the kick and didn’t know he lost when he came to.
But what about Guanchulo? He had a slim chance of reaching the final but that went away after a loss to Mizuki Watase. Guanchulo’s Seijo Scratch was blocked by Watase who put all his weight down to get a pin of his own. While Watase is disappointed to not make the final he now wants to avenge his defeat to Nakatsu. When Nakatsu found out about this he invited Watase to challenge him either in BASARA or Tavern Wrestling. Maybe they can have a street fight, the crowd would like that.
Both MAO and Rekka are coming out of the tournament thinking how they can improve. MAO was able to beat Rekka with the Chile Driver, a finisher that is earning MAO more wins. He is now going back to being an idol for NωA. Rekka says with only one win out of five matches he really needs to work harder and harder.
The two generation rivals Daiki Shimomura and Nobuhiro Shimatani got to clash again. Shimomura finally got to hit the Asai DDT and continues to be unbeaten against Shimatani. Unfortunately this meant Shimatani ended the tournament with zero wins. He mentioned he hurt his neck on the second day and also at one point wrestled with numbness in his right hand. His bad record reduced him to tears in the post-match interview.
Throughout the Grand Prix, Royve Isaacs made his entrance wearing a mink scarf around his neck. The scarf somehow bit his and Yukinori Matsui’s fingers when he took it off. Yuki Ueno may have lost the match and finished with zero points but the rookie is looking at the bright side. He obtained so much experience in five days, moreso than other newcomers could ever get. Isaacs said he hopes to come back to DNA and even make it to DDT.

5. DDT Offer Match: Tetsuya Endo & Mad Polly defeated Soma Takao & Makoto Oishi when Polly pinned Oishi with the Polly Buster (9:24).
6. DNA Grand Prix – A Block: MAO (2) defeated Kouki Iwasaki (0) with the Cannonball 450° (11:29).
7. DNA Grand Prix – B Block: Ryota Nakatsu (2) defeated Guanchulo (0) with the Cross Armbreaker (15:20).
Day 1 of the DNA Grand Prix did not end happily for Guanchulo. He came out wearing a Shunma Katsumata t-shirt and even used his Double Stomp to try and beat Ryota Nakatsu. But a Head Kick, German Suplex and Cross Armbreaker put an end to any hope that the power of friendship would save the day. Nakatsu thinks Mike Bailey is the only one in his group that will give him a challenge.
MAO’s quick attack on Kouki Iwasaki to start their match gave him the edge. He hit the Alien Plancha then seated him on a chair for the John Woo Dropkick. Back in the ring Iwasaki tried to wear down MAO with an Anklelock but MAO rolled out of it and stunned him with a High Screw Kick. A modified Rock Bottom and the Cannonball 450° earned MAO his first two points. MAO is aware that his knee will be targeted by his opponents.
In his official debut match Yuki Ueno had the unenviable task of wrestling Kazusada Higuchi. Ueno at one point knocked Higuchi off his feet with a Dropkick and even put him in a Crab Hold. Higuchi fought back with the Oklahoma Stampede and Nodowa Otoshi for nearfalls. Ueno got a two count of his own with a Frog Splash but a Doctor Bomb from Higuchi ended the match afterwards. Higuchi described the match as him welcoming Ueno to DNA.
Mike Bailey avoided an Asai DDT en route to beating Daiki Shimomura. Bailey says the tournament running for 5 consecutive days is like running a marathon. He wants to continue running until the end.
For his first match in Japan, Royce Isaacs was too powerful for Rekka to handle. He countered a Triangle Choke into a Turnbuckle Bomb then followed with a German Suplex into a Rock Bottom. Isaacs said he didn’t come to DNA to make friends. He came to test his strength. He wants to compare his power with Higuchi’s power. Rekka felt like all of his ability and technique were useless against Isaacs.
Mizuki Watase opened up the tournament with a win over Nobuhiro Shimatani. He hit a big Back Drop for the three count. Watase knows that he has a long way to go this week. His priority is to avoid losing against Nakatsu.
Shunma Katsumata was in attendance to say he will return from injury at “DDT FES 2016” in November.
DDT “DNA 21 ~THANK YOU KITAZAWA TOWN HALL! THE LAST PRO WRESTLING BEFORE RENOVATION~”, 30/09/2016 Kitazawa Town Hall 177 Fans
1. Ryuichi Sekine defeated Daiki Shimomura with the Let’s Combine (7:49).
2. Keisuke Ishii defeated Rekka with the Tiger Suplex (8:00).
3. NωA Sub-Leader Playoff: MAO defeated Makoto Oishi with the Chile Driver (6:25).
4. Same Grade Of Claim: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Nobuhiro Shimatani with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster (11:03).
5. Hardcore Match: Jun Kasai defeated Mizuki Watase with the Pearl Harbour Splash (12:12).
6. Road To DNA-GP: Kazusada Higuchi & Shunma Katsumata Vs Guanchulo & Kouki Iwasaki ended in a Time Limit Draw (30:00).
As the show name suggests this is the last DNA show held in Kitazawa Town Hall for now while the building goes through renovations for the next 18 months. That means the hall won’t be available until 2018. At the end of the show all of the DNA wrestlers lined up to say goodbye to the building that supported the brand since its very first show in 2014. Kazusada Higuchi said he has many memories of hard work and a hot summer wrestling in the building.
The main event took both teams to their limit and a winner could not be decided. Guanchulo gave Higuchi the Death Valley Bomb then Shunma Katsumata caught Guanchulo with the Swan Dive X Factor. Kouki Iwasaki locked a Triangle Choke on Higuchi but he powered out of it and hit a Lariat in the final seconds before the time expired.
If fighting Jun Kasai wasn’t bad enough, Mizuki Watase now had to fight the Crazy Monkey in a Hardcore Match! And it was his idea! Kasai was kind enough to let Watase start off with a chair but it didn’t take long for that object to be used against him. Kasai turned the match into a ringside brawl where he Body Slammed Watase onto the floor and scratched at his pretty face. Kasai brought out a table but Watase suddenly began throwing chairs at Kasai to stop him. Watase placed Kasai on top of the table and hit a Diving Body Press through it! Back in the ring Watase kicked out of the Reverse Tiger Driver but couldn’t kick out of the Pearl Harbour Splash. Watase said he wanted to have a Hardcore match so he could get a taste of Kasai when he’s at 100%. He described it as mortifying but delicious.
Konosuke Takeshita gave a lot of praise to the DNA wrestlers after his match with Nobuhiro Shimatani. Everybody from Higuchi to Rekka have been working hard. He said he feels Kota Umeda’s frustration from getting injured before the DNA Grand Prix. He wished Shimatani luck and hopes the next time they face each other, Shimatani will be the Grand Prix champion.
The NωA leader was already determined a while ago. That’s Shunma Katsumata. However the other two members decided to fight over who gets to be the sub-leader of the band. MAO hit a modified Tombstone called the Chile Driver to beat Makoto Oishi. Although he won the match MAO’s right knee was targeted a lot and he now worries if its current condition will harm his chances going into the Grand Prix.
The DNA Grand Prix group draws were revealed. Block A contains Kazusada Higuchi, Kouki Iwasaki, MAO, Rekka, Yuki Ueno and Royse Isaacs. Ueno’s debut match will be against Higuchi. Block B has Shunma Katsumata, Guanchulo, Mizuki Watase, Daiki Shimomura, Nobuhiro Shimatani and Mike Bailey. Shimatani is determined to do anything for the one way ticket to New York. His generation rival Shimomura pointed out he is on a two match winning streak against Shimatani. Watase claims he has the most experience in his group thanks to his DNA matches with Shinjiro Otani, Yuko Miyamoto and now Jun Kasai. Guanchulo warned Katsumata that although they are amigos, they are now also rivals in the same block.
