3a. Makoto Oishi, Daisuke Sasaki & Takao Soma defeated Yasu Urano, Tomomitsu Matsunada & Masa Takanashi when Oishi pinned Matsunaga with the Miracle Ecstasy (7:40).
4. Take Back Yoshiko’s Smile: “Hulk Hogan” (Antonio Honda) made Yoshiko laugh with a “hippie” headband (10:24).

Much like how the American heroes lined up inside the USS Intrepid to take on the Yokozuna Body Slam Challenge, many of DDT’s finest attempted the herculean task of making Stardom wrestler Yoshiko laugh. Many tried and failed (Kota Ibushi even escaped just so he wouldn’t have to be near her again) but just when all hope was lost, none other than “Hulk Hogan” appeared to save the day! It took a lot of effort. He hulked up, it didn’t work. He drew a chicken on his belly, it didn’t work. He stripped down to fishnets and pantyhose, it didn’t work. He got everyone to form a train behind him and dance for Yoshiko but she still wouldn’t laugh. Hogan gave up and removed his bandana in shame, revealing a headband with “hippie!” written on it. Yoshiko finally cracked a smile and was able to laugh. Success!

Match #3 was a Battle Royal where everyone involved wore pantyhose over their head (it was a running theme for today’s show). There was also a points system in place but the rules were pretty much made up as they went along. The match was eventually thrown out and a 6-Man Tag Team match was made in its place. Kyohei Wada appeared wearing pantyhose over his head to officiate the match.

Shunma Katsumata is a trainee wrestler who was given an opportunity by Michael Nakazawa to wrestle inside a DDT ring. Danshoku Dino gave him a welcoming kiss after the match.

Kota Ibushi wanted to do some research on former G1 Climax winners to help him prepare for this year’s tournament. Gota Ihashi helped out by roleplaying as Shinya Hashimoto to take on Riki Choshu parody Hyper Aihara Choshu. Ibushi watched on with enthusiasm but Ihashi lost the match quickly. Ibushi was not satisfied with what he saw and asked for a rematch. Choshu beat Shinya Ihashimoto again and Ibushi asked for another restart. Choshu won a third time and Ibushi was finally happy with what he saw.

No joke, Hiroshi Fukuda and Konosuke Takeshita had a 60 minute Ironman match together for the dark match.

2. Yuji Hino & Daisuke Sasaki defeated Masa Takanashi & Gota Ihashi when Hino submitted Ihashi with a Dragon Sleeper (10:49).
3. Hikaru Sato & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated MIKAMI & Tomomitsu Matsunaga when Sakaguchi submitted Matsunaga with the Dojime Choke Sleeper (10:17).
4. Kota Ibushi G1 Send-Off Party: Kota Ibushi Vs Danshoku Dino Vs Makoto Oishi Vs Michael Nakazawa Vs DJ Nira was a No Contest.

6. KUDO, Yasu Urano & FUMA defeated Keisuke Ishii, Takao Soma & Tetsuya Endo when Urano pinned Endo with an Oklahoma Roll (16:14).
7. HARASHIMA & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Shigehiro Irie & Akito when HARASHIMA pinned Akito with the Somato (14:49).

Kota Ibushi was given a send-off party before he left to prepare for the G1 Climax beginning later this week. As you would expect from DDT, the party was weird. It began with Danshoku Dino and Makoto Oishi in the ring sitting at a table with actor Hisaya Imabayashi (who looks a lot like Tsurumi Amon). Mr. Imabayashi told a ghost story while the arena lights dimmed down. The story that I loosely translated goes as follows:

You enter a bathroom stall and as you squat down you see graffiti written on the wall. The graffiti says “Look right”. You look to the wall on the right and there is graffiti that says look left. You look to the left and see graffiti on the wall that says “Look back”. You look back and see the graffiti has changed. It now says “Do not look behind you”. You fearfully look behind you only to see that there is nothing there. Then you find out there is no toilet paper. The end.

(If you were expecting something that at least matches Tales of the Crypt in the quality department you’ve come to the wrong place.)

Anyway, the three men in the ring then talked about the ghost story when DJ Nira interrupted and convinced everyone to take part in a quiz challenge along with Yukinori Matsui. Makoto Oishi got most of the questions right. “Wild Thing” began playing from the speakers and everybody threw water around the ring like Atsushi Onita until Michael Nakazawa came out and told them to stop. Kota Ibushi finally appeared and everybody in the ring gave him a message of support. They then played “Wild Thing” again and everybody dumped “ritual water” over Ibushi while declaring that he will win the G1.

Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi have decided who will team with them in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Title challenge at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2013”. What’s Sumo Hall without a sumo wrestler? Their partner is Akebono!

Emi Sakura was added to the All Night Nippon GOLD Battle Royal at the 17/8 Sumo Hall show. It took a lot of convincing from herself and Tetsuya Endo to get her in.

The show began with a performance by DPG, Hiroshi Fukuda’s music group consisting of himself and his friends dressed as superheroes. They played their debut song “Demon of the Ring” which is the theme song of Beer Garden Fight 2013.

6a. Nazo Fukumen K defeated Naomi Susan with a Boston Crab (0:52).
6b. Shuji Ishikawa defeated Nazo Fukumen P with the Running Knee Lift (7:58).
6c. Nazo Fukumen M defeated FUMA with a Power Bomb (12:53).

The main event was a Best 2 out of 3 falls match fought with a Wargames style entry system put in place with each wrestler drawing a random number. The Union Sekigun had the disadvantage from the start when Naomi Susan drew No. 1. She bravely attempted to take down Nazo Fukumen K when the bell rang but it was easily countered into a Boston Crab and Susan tapped out in the first minute the match. As the ring filled up, Shuji Ishikawa evened the score when he pinned Nazo Fukumen P. But in the end, the Nazo Fukumen won the battle with FUMA taking the fall for Union. After the match, Nazo Fukumen P demanded Union to disband because of their defeat. Nazo Fukumen M suddenly low blowed P and then knocked him down with a Lariat. Nazo Fukumen M then unmasked to reveal himself as Seiya Morohashi! He begged Susan to be accepted back into Union and she said “Of course!”

Rika Seibi and Tsubasa Amami were working as beer girls for the show, which as you can see in the photo above is quite the lovely sight. Their future services was also the prize for the Idea Pocket 3 Way Match. Menso~re Oyaji won it almost immediately when he grabbed an ashtray, called over Hiroshi Fukuda for a high five and then bashed him over the head with it. Both Fukuda and Mio Shirai complained about the result and the Idea Pocket divas allowed the match to restart. Fukuda, Oyaji and Shirai all decided to hold a toast during the rematch. As they all drank a beer, Shirai rolled over Fukuda and pinned him to win the idols. Shirai then invited everyone to visit her stall at the 24/8 Shin-Kiba show where the idols will be selling her merchandise. While all of this was going on Shigehiro Irie was in attendance so he could see his crush Seibi again.

Mitomi Masayuki finally had his debut match for Union six months after he signed with the promotion. Masayuki originally suffered an injury in a car crash but he believes that was no excuse to postpone his debut for so long. He has big dreams for wrestling and had six months to deliver that dream to the fans. Shuji Ishikawa defeated him as expected but this is only the beginning for the newcomer.

The final battle between Union and the Nazo Fukumen takes place at Beer Garden Fight week. The Nazo Fukumen revealed their true leaders at the last event, one of them being Fukumen Queen. The Nazo Fukumen treat her like a god and have demanded that Union put their “god” Naomi Susan into the match! The challenge was accepted by Isami Kodaka and the main event is now an 8-Person Tag Team match. Susan’s response was she does not see a bright future inside the ring for herself, but she will do her best.

The double date Hiroshi Fukuda & Menso~re Oyaji agreed to have with Riki Seibi & Tsubasa Amami at the last show never happened. So another Idea Pocket sponsored match was booked with the winner getting the services of Seibi straight away followed by Amami’s services at the Union Shin-Kiba show on 24/8. Mio Shirai added herself into the match because she thinks having two sexy idols working for her will boost her merchandise sales.

Kaori Yoneyama is out of action with a “left inner collateral ligament rupture” according to the DDT website. Sayaka Obihiro from Gatoh Move takes her place in the Rock ‘N’ Roll Death Match.

Mitomi Masayuki requested Shuji Ishikawa to be his opponent for his debut match.

Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi visited the Diamond Ring office and after a somewhat perverted confrontation with a male member of staff, were able to meet Kensuke Sasaki and convince him to team with them for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Title match.

Looks like Guanchuro will continue his MIKAMI impersonation and this time teams up with the man himself.

HARASHIMA’s Beer Fight plans are usually just playing it straight. Matches himself with a worthy opponent while giving the younger wrestlers a chance to size up with the veterans. Don’t know about the others though. KUDO and Yasu Urano fought each other one year in a match where instead of three counts, you had to drink a full glass of beer while pinning your opponent in order to win.

Don’t care if I made a mistake with the translation. Match #1 is possibly the greatest match name I have ever written on this site. And this is Goku the monkey warrior, not the guy from Dragon Ball Z.

1. Madoka, Gabaiji-chan & Kaori Yoneyama defeated Nazo Fukumen A, Nazo Fukumen B & Nazo Fukumen P when Yoneyama pinned Fukumen P with an Backwards Rotating Pin (9:08).
2. Toru Sugiura defeated Daichi Kazato with the Dangerous Dragon Sleeper (8:21).
3. SAGAT defeated Ryu Gouma with the Grind Gore (3:05).
4. Tsukushi & Aoi Kizuki defeated Cherry & Masako Takanashi when Kizuki pinned Cherry with the Cross Arm German Suplex (10:46).
5. Idea Pocket Presents: Menso~re Oyaji defeated Hiroshi Fukuda with a School Boy (0:25).
5a. Menso~re Oyaji defeated Hiroshi Fukuda with a Camel Clutch (3:22).
6. Jun Kasai, Nazo Fukumen K & Nazo Fukumen M defeated Isami Kodaka, Shuji Ishikawa & FUMA when Kasai pinned FUMA with the Pearl Harbour Splash (16:22).

The Nazo Fukumen stood tall in the main event, defeating the Union home team of Shuji Ishikawa, Isami Kodaka & FUMA. However, there was trouble in the ranks when Nazo Fukumen A took offence to Nazo Fukumen P insulting Union. A gave P a Spear and then unmasked to reveal what everyone knew all along, it was Ken Ohka. The Ganbare☆Wrestling founder cried and told the Union wrestlers to hang in there. He bowed for forgiveness and pleaded to be accepted back into Union so he could help fight what he created. Two new Nazo Fukumen then appeared, one coloured red (and sort of looking like a Crazy Monkey) and the other coloured blue (and sort of looking like a certain Union Diva Commissioner). Fukumen P introduced them as the real leaders behind the group.

Jun Kasai reluctantly teamed up with the Nazo Fukumen and did not find being kidnapped by them funny. Kasai demanded a singles match against either Shuji Ishikawa or Isami Kodaka at a future Union show.

Menso~re Oyaji wasn’t really interested in wrestling Hiroshi Fukuda today, even with the reward of dating Riki Seibi on the line. Oyaji quickly pinned Fukuda but Seibi was bored by the match and requested a restart. Oyaji won the rematch but was generous enough to set up a double date involving himself, Fukuda, Seibi and Tsubasa Amami afterward.

Before the women’s tag match began Aoi Kizuki told Cherry the Fly To Everywhere Title belt is cute but Cherry is not. Kizuki now has a claim for a title shot after she pinned the champion.

With the help of some medical experts, Ryu Gouma announced that SAGAT will be able to live a healthy as a Chinese Vampire. He wasn’t able to prevent the side effect of SAGAT’s constant hopping though. Gouma also discovered that SAGAT’s past memories will be recovered once he eats some bread. He spent the match trying to force feed bread to the vampire and eventually succeeded, but only after he lost the match. It took a few minutes but SAGAT’s memories eventually came back.

Atsuo “Poison” Sawada was in attendance to present the grand prize to the winner. Tatsuhito Takaiwa won 500,000 yen but gave MIKAMI 50,000 yen as a show of thanks for creating the tournament.
