7. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe
Two wrestlers have stepped forward asking for a shot at the International Princess Title for different reasons. Yuki Aino wants to win the championship after seeing there are women all over the world coming to Tokyo Joshi Pro to fight for it. Arisu Endo was inspired to ask for a shot after standing in her friend Suzume’s corner during last month’s title match. The two will face off in a singles match with the winner getting to challenge Rika Tatsumi somewhere down the road.
A few weeks ago Hyper Misao made Mahiro Kiryu the hero of her own story at the “HYPE!” event. Now they have to be opponents. Misao didn’t see this match coming but understands she will have to beat her friend, even if it ends Kiryu’s momentum coming out of “HYPE!”
Yuki Arai is cleared to return to wrestling on this show. Her return match is also the first time she will be teaming with Raku & Shino Suzuki. That fact is making her look forward to returning even more.
English commentary for the show will be provided by Chris Brookes, Drew Parker and Baliyan Akki.

MAO has threatened to kick Kazuki Hirata to death in order to win the vacant DDT Extreme Title. However Hirata is always ready and expecting to be kicked to death in his matches so MAO will have to think about doing something else!

5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles: Hikaru Sato & Tyson Maeguchi (c) Vs Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada
6. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Mizuki Watase (c) Vs Isami Kodaka
Friends, training partners, wrestling rivals and now a tag team. That describes the relationship between Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada. They’ve never been able to fight each other in MMA due to being in different weight classes and also different companies. But they are joining forces believing they are the only two fighters who can defeat Hentai Punch Drunkers for the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles. Their challenge was accepted by Tyson Maeguchi before Hikaru Sato could give his thoughts on the matter.
It will soon be time for Riara to get assessed by Sayaka Unagi. Apparently that’s a thing a lot of joshi has to go through these days. Unagi offered to wrestle on Ganbare☆Pro’s biggest show of the year again as a favour to her friend Yuna Manase. Since Manase is currently injured, Riara was chosen to be Unagi’s opponent. The two already knew each other while Riara was training to be a pro wrestler. Unagi’s lesson for her is it takes more than just having the “ganbare” spirit to succeed in wrestling.
The 6-Man Tag Match is a reunion on both sides. Akito, Shota & Shinichiro Tominaga represent the Young Communication Generation while Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao are back together as Team Drift.

2. MAO defeated Mei Suruga with the Wedding Clutch (16:40).
3. Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao defeated Chris Brookes, Mizuki Watase & Antonio Honda when Irie pinned Honda with the Beast Bomber (15:03).
4. Daisuke Sekimoto defeated Masahiro Takanashi with a Modified Muffler Hold (23:09).
The 2010 Miracle Match between Masahiro Takanashi Vs Daisuke Sekimoto was revisited on today’s independently promoted show. Much like the first time, Takanashi was the big underdog but this time he was a much more crafty veteran. He targeted Sekimoto’s arms and continued to do so after Sekimoto missed a Lariat outside the ring and hit the ring post. The power difference just couldn’t be avoided though. Takanashi tried to hit the Takatonic from the top rope in a moment that flashed everyone’s minds back to 2010. Sekimoto blocked the move but before he could drop down and crush his opponent just like he did back then, Takanashi instead flipped over and Power Bombed him from the rope. The Takatonic was blocked again and every failed attempt to pin Sekimoto afterwards saw Takanashi’s chances fade away. The German Suplex that would normally end the match wasn’t hit perfectly so Sekimoto grabbed Takanashi in a Muffler Stretch and held his opponent up until Takanashi gave up. The two shook hands after the match but neither of them gave any speeches. Instead the show ended with Takanashi bowing to the audience on his knees and leaving the ring without comment.
Team Drift used Keisuke Ishii’s old theme music for their entrance. Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao also wore the same Team Dream Futures shirt while Ishii wore the shirt made for their farewell.
The special costume Mei Suruga wears for her entrance included flashing lights. During an outside the ring brawl with MAO, Suruga put the costume back on and dived from one of the nearby counters. She landed her attack and MAO complained afterwards that he could have gotten an electric shock. He then wrapped the costume around his arm and hit Suruga with an Axe Bomber. Inside the ring Suruga tried to put on the Cattle Mutilation but MAO kept countering it, eventually putting her in the Wedding Clutch for the pinfall.
A surprise match between Minoru Fujita and DJ Nira took place that went awry after Nira knocked out Daisuke Kiso with his umbrella. When Kiso woke up and was provoked by Nira again, he declared he was adding himself to the match, making it a 3 Way. The three of them locked up and the room suddenly went dark. Then there was an announcement that Kiso had seriously injured his opponents and escaped, leaving the ring completely empty. There was then an announcment that a new life was suddenly born. A spotlight then shined over to Hoshitango wearing diapers and crying like a baby. Then there was another announcement, this one saying Sekimoto quietly passed away on the morning of his match against Takanashi 12 years ago.
There was a brief exchange back and forth of the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title between Saki Akai and Ram Kaichow. When their match ended, Kaichow rolled up Akai and pinned her for the belt. Akai then attacked her with the Brahman Brothers’ suitcase. Yuko Miyamoto tried to rescue Kaichow but accidentaly Elbow Dropped her instead. Akai then pinned Kaichow to win back the title.
The wrestler called Emi Sakura W in the Gauntlet Tag match is Papillon Akemi pretending to be her. The gimmick has been used in Gatoh Move before.
The UMA Corps turned on Gota Ihashi after the dark match after Miyako Haru ordered Shinsetsu Gomu Ningen to attack him. KUDO came to the rescue, scared them off and told Ihashi the Ebisuko Tavern was now protected. Ihashi told KUDO he hasn’t given up on his dream of becoming the tavern’s manager. KUDO gave Ihashi a Buzzsaw Kick in response and Ihashi apologised for trying to overthrow his boss.

6. Ken Ohka 20th Anniversary Special Tag Match ~Roar Of The Lion King~: HARASHIMA & Kengo Mashimo defeated Ken Ohka & Isami Kodaka when HARASHIMA pinned Ohka with the Somato (18:23).
Twenty years in the business for Ken Ohka has made him a lot of friends and acquaintances. To celebrate he teamed with the wrestler who was once labelled as his replacement in Union Pro. Back then Kengo Mashimo was marketed as Kengo Ohka on Union shows. Their opponents were HARASHIMA, who teamed with Ohka for his most famous match, and Isami Kodaka who Ohka grew up with in their Union days. Kodaka and Mashimo also hold a grudge with each other to add some spiciness to the match. Ohka got to shine by Double German Suplexing HARASHIMA and Kodaka. He then exchanged elbows with HARASHIMA and HARASHIMA took the time to congratulate him on the anniversary inbetween the strikes. Ohka got the upper hand and pulled out a Dragon Suplex out of nowhere. But when he charged in for the Fire Spear, HARASHIMA blocked it with the Somato and then hit a second one to win the match.
After the match HARASHIMA said he was smiling from start to finish. Kodaka and Mashimo gave each other the middle finger until Ohka talked to them. Ohka said Mashimo is like his fourth son or his half-brother because he used to be Kengo Ohka. Kodaka admitted to Ohka that he overslept today and only arrived at the venue at 1pm. The show started at 11:30am. Ohka thanked all of them for coming to Ganbare☆Pro today. To him it doesn’t matter what company they work for, they can be double or triple affiliated with Ganpro for as long as they are pro wrestlers! The show ended with Ohka celebrating with the Ganpro roster in the ring. Shota tried to sneak roll up HARASHIMA for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title during this but failed to pull it off.
The Keisuke Ishii Vs Shigehiro Irie match turned out to be a full Team Dream Futures reunion when Soma Takao was spotted in the audience at the start of the bout. Irie also had Mizuki Watase in his corner to provide some RENEGADES presence. Ishii kicked out of the Beast Bomber and hit Irie with the Kneel Kick to the back of the head. Ishii then hit the Double Arm DDT before doing one more Kneel Kick to win. The two shook hands afterwards while Takao left the room. This is the first time Ishii has beaten Irie one on one in ten years! He put his victory down to honing the Kneel Kick for 13 years.
To ensure that the IJ Tag Team Titles match was fought under PWF Rules, Ayana Shimada from Tenryu Project was at ringside to oversee the match. Both champions and challengers aren’t familiar with the rules only found out about the differences while they wrestled. Things like rope breaks not being strict and 10 counts outside the ring threw the wrestlers off but they adapted in the end. At one point Kenichiro Arai used the ropes to add leverage to Shota pinning Shinichiro Tominaga but Hagane Shinno broke it up by diving onto Arai on the ring apron. Shota ended up stealing the win anyway by rolling Tominaga up with a Casadora.
Yumehito Imanari was excited to find out Shuichi Nishinaga from NOAH was the referee for his match. He & Kouki Iwasaki worked over on Tatsuhito Takaiwa but MAO was there to help his tag partner. Takaiwa took control and pinned Imanari with the Death Valley Bomb. He noticed that Ganpro has changed a lot since the last time he wrestled for them. MAO said it was a fresh feeling wrestling in Ganpro for the first time. He also got some tips from Takaiwa on how to improve the Michinoku Driver.
The current state of Ganbare☆Joshi shows HARUKAZE is making the kind of progress she’s been looking for while the newcomer YuuRI is struggling to find a win. HARUKAZE had a confrontation with Yuna Manase after the match but found herself being praised by Asuka & Makoto. Backstage Manase & Yuna Mizumori consoled YuuRI and don’t blame her for their team losing today. Over on the other side Asuka said she wasn’t satisfied with the match because she thinks GanJo is too weak for her. However she tells HARUKAZE to continue doing her best there.
Today was the last match of Shu Sakurai’s wrestling career, at least for now. He and the rest of THE HALFEE performed “Starry Sky Distance” for their entrance before wrestling Rocky Kawamura 2, Nobuhiro Shimatani & Itsuki Aoki. Sadly for Sakurai his last match ended in defeat with Shimatani making him tap out. Sakurai wants to remind everyone this isn’t a retirement and he will come back some day. His decision to leave is for positive reasons and he hopes to learn and grow as a person while he is away. Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi suggested they all reunite in 47 years because THE ALFEE (the band they parody) are celebrating their 47th anniversary this year.
Some important announcements related to the Ganbare☆Climax were given during the show. First, the tournament is being sponsored by LEC. And second, the winner of the Ganbare☆Climax will be crowned the first Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Champion! The president of LEC Takaki Nagamori showed off the new championship belt and talked about LEC sponsoring various pro wrestling events from the G1 Climax to the Ganbare☆Climax.
The wrestlers entering the Ganbare☆Climax 2021 are Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari, Keisuke Ishii, Shuichiro Katsumura, Shota, Shinichiro Tominaga, Kouki Iwasaki, Baliyan Akki, Nobuhiro Shimatani, Mizuki Watase, Seiya Morohashi, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, Tatsuhito Takaiwa and kickboxer Tyson Maeguchi. The tournament begins on 24th October and the final to crown the champion will take place on 23rd November.

2. Hiroshi Yamato defeated Kikutaro with a School Boy (6:54).
3. Tetsuya Endo defeated Leo Isaka with the Shooting Star Press (12:15).
4. Shigehiro Irie & Daiki Shimomura defeated Soma Takao & Nobuhiro Shimatani when Shimomura pinned Shimatani with an Inside Cradle (14:35).
5. Mad Paulie’s Five Years And A Few Months After His Birth Anniversary Match: Kohei Sato, Yuji Hino & Mad Paulie defeated Kengo Mashimo, Masashi Takeda & Keizo Matsuda when Paulie pinned Matsuda with the Reverse Splash (16:36).
6. MONDAY NIGHT WAR: Minoru Fujita defeated Daisuke Sasaki with the Modified Tombstone Piledriver (24:32).
A first time singles match turned out to be no fun and games at all. Minoru Fujita walked out fully representing his Fujita Pro Wrestling☆School and also had the Super Asia Title from Gatoh Move. Meanwhile Daisuke Sasaki came out still carrying the stolen DDT Universal Title. The atmosphere quickly turned sour when Sasaki ignored Fujita’s offer for a handshake. A furious Fujita then said he would kill Sasaki and went to poke his eyes out. Sasaki fought back by biting his fingers. The struggle and dirty fighting continued throughout and Sasaki became motivated enough to wrestle with his shirt off. He used Yukinori Matsui as a shield at one point but Fujita cut him off on top of the turnbuckles. From there Fujita hit an Avalanche Tombstone for a nearfall. He hit another Tombstone as a counter to La Mistica for another two count. Fujita had to do the Somato and then the “Sayonara” version of the Tombstone to finally put Sasaki down for the three count.
Fujita called his victory over Sasaki a miracle. It is a win he will talk about for the rest of his life. He will carry the achievement with him until his retirement, which will happened somewhere between 4 to 50 years from now. Sasaki complained about Fujita ruining the show. Sasaki was supposed to beat him but he was too strong. Sasaki promised to get stronger and win in the rematch. Fujita then cut him off and said they will never wrestle each other again. Sasaki accepted that and asked to be a teacher in the Fujita Pro Wrestling☆School instead. He then told the fans today was supposed to be Sasaki beating Fujita on the road to winning the Universal Title from Yuki Ueno and then he couldn’t be called a thief anymore. At least the audience had more fun here than at the Olympics today so that cheered him up a little.
Mad Paulie got some spotlight by winning his 5th Anniversary match. He was asked to comment backstage and simply grunted “Arigatou!”
Match #4 was a double reunion of sorts. Soma Takao and Shigehiro Irie were both in the Team Dream Futures stable. Daiki Shimomura & Nobuhiro Shimatani used to team together as Gran MilliMeters in DNA. Shimatani took the fall against his former partner but declared today is the beginning of Chapter 3 of his life as a freelancer. Sasaki asked what happened to Chapter 2 and Nobu told him it already came and went.
Tetsuya Endo had wanted to face Leo Isaka for a while now but DDT were never able to put it together. Endo had to take things into his own hands and book the match at a DAMNATION show like this one. Isaka does the Shooting Star Press because he first saw Endo do the move. He got the chance to use it here but Endo dodged it and later hit his version to win. When Sasaki found out Isaka is like a 22 year old version of Endo, he thought about bringing him in as a replacement. He’ll fire Endo when he turns 30 next month and bring in Isaka to be the new Endo.
There were plenty of antics when Hiroshi Yamato fought Kikutaro. A lot of them had Matsui involuntarily involved. During a mix up, Kikutaro tried pinning Matsui with a Small Package. When nothing happened, Yamato rolled Kikutaro over with a School Boy to get the win.
The risk of darkness surrounding the world has been averted for now. At least it is here, I mean. Choun-Shiryu defeated Darkunesu K with the aid of a cone bar. The evil version of Keigo Nakamura was a bit of a nuisance but nothing that Shiryu couldn’t handle in the end.

A classic ruleset is coming back for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title match. The match will run non-stop for 10 minutes and whoever is the champion at the end will be declared the winner.
The current Right To Challenge Gauntlet holders are Meiko Satomura (Red), HARASHIMA (Green), Akito (Yellow), Yukio Sakaguchi (Black) and Yuki Iino (Blue). Shigehiro Irie still thinks that the gimmick is unnecessary. It’s not that he hates the concept, it is because he will accept the challenges from anybody who steps up to him anyway. He wonders whenever the Gauntlet holders publicly tell everyone that they are not using their title shot if they even want to be a champion. And if they don’t want to be champion then why are they wrestling? If any of the holders want to cash in their shot straight after Irie’s match ends, he will still be ready for them. Irie always has two fights in him whenever he steps into the ring.
Irie has also criticised DDT for failing to evolve their comedy style over the years. He thinks Danshoku Dieno is partly to blame for that as the DDT Producer. Another problem is Irie’s plans for DDT aren’t coming to fruition like he was promised. He wants to defend the KO-D Openweight Title overseas but accuses Dieno of not doing anything in his power to help put it together.

6. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Daisuke Sasaki (c) with the Cross Arm German Suplex (24:42). *Daisuke Sasaki fails in V2. Konosuke Takeshita becomes the 58th KO-D Openweight Champion!
On the day he turned 21 years old Konosuke Takeshita made history by becoming the youngest ever KO-D Openweight Champion! In a rivalry that has been going on since February Daisuke Sasaki has been a thorn in Takeshita’s side. He had taken the KO-D Tag Team Titles from him in Sumo Hall and then prevented him from winning the belts back two months later. Both times Sasaki rendered him unconscious with the Doppelgänger Cross Facelock. Since then Sasaki won the KO-D Title with the same move and proclaimed himself as the unstoppable charismatic king of DDT. Takeshita entered the ring wearing the special ZERO mask he was given by ZERO himself in Osaka last week. Sasaki was ready to ruin Takeshita’s day when he tricked his opponent to leave the ring. Sasaki then threw him into the front row and hit a Russian Leg Sweep onto the chairs at ringside. Back in the ring Sasaki targeted the neck and shoulders and got a nearfall with the Hitman Elbow Drop. The damage was taking its toll and Sasaki found counters to the Blue Thunder Bomb. Takeshita turned the tables though and hit a No Rope Tope out of the ring onto both Sasaki and Shuji Ishikawa. Sasaki survived a Dragon Suplex and locked in the Cross Facelock until Takeshita cradled him for a two count. Sasaki went into a fit and kicked both Takeshita and Yukinori Matsui between the legs. Daisuke Kiso ran in to replace Matsui but he was given the Vietnam Driver II for his troubles. Sasaki hit a Diving Elbow Drop but Matsui was still down and unable to count any pinfall. A weary Takeshita gave Sasaki the middle finger when he was dragged up to his knees! Sasaki sat Takeshita down onto a chair and hit the Super Diving Elbow. This time Matsui was able to count but Takeshita kicked out. Sasaki took a page out of his mentor Dick Togo’s playbook and hit a Pedigree. He placed his feet on the ropes for leverage but Takeshita again kicked out! Takeshita tried to fight back but was in danger when Sasaki did La Mistica with the intention of locking in the Doppelganger Cross Facelock. Takeshita escaped the lock in the nick of time. He then blocked an Avalanche Pedigree and instead gave Sasaki an Avalanche Brainbuster for a two count. Sasaki desperately hit his flash Hurricanrana but that couldn’t get the job done. Another La Mistica was stopped with a modified Tombstone Piledriver. Takeshita did the German Suplex but that wasn’t enough. He then hit the Cross Arm German Suplex and three seconds later was crowned the new KO-D Champion!
In their 100th and final match together as a unit Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao put the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on the line in their first and only defence. Win or lose Team Dream Futures are going their separate ways. Smile Squash were in the position to spoil their last dance but that did not turn out to be the case. Irie blocked HARASHIMA’s Somato with the Traffic Accident Tackle while Ishii & Takao hit Yasu Urano with a Sandwich Enzuigiri. Urano fought back and tried to set up the Razor’s Edge on Takao but Irie caught him with the Beast Bomber. Takao picked up the pieces and pinned Urano with the Gin And Tonic. He thanked the fans for supporting Team Drift for all of its 100 matches and thanked Smile Squash for being their final opponents. Team Drift agreed to vacate the 6-Man Titles and handed the belts to Amon Tsurumi. A crying Irie hugged Tsurumi after he gave him his belt.
In a twist, Super Sasadango Machine’s regularly scheduled PowerPoint presentation was taken over by LiLiCo before their DDT Extreme Title match. During LiLiCo’s presentation she talked about the dangers of Sasadango’s finishing move the Lehmann Shock. She learned that the move is effective because of Sasadango’s size. In order to combat this she needed hit Sasadango hard enough to make him sink just like when the Titanic sunk from hitting an iceberg. Her goal was to turn this match into the movie Titanic. It will start with posh LiLiCo Winslet meeting the poor young Leonardo Watase and beginning their tragic love story, then an iceberg will hit Sasadango (ie Watase whacks him over the head with a chair) causing him to sink. Panic strikes everyone until LiLiCo hits the Titanic Cross Body to win the championship. She will then share a passionate kiss with Watase before their tragic farewell.
The match began and Sasadango easily overpowered LiLiCo. Makoto Oishi had Sasadango’s back and did what he could to prevent Watase from interfering, such as by taping him to the corner. Watase escaped and grabbed a chair only to be stopped by Oishi again. Oishi swung the chair at LiLiCo but missed and hit Sasadango instead. Suddenly “My Heart Will Go On” played on the sound system. LiLiCo and Watase reunited in the corner and did the Titanic pose together on the turnbuckles. She hit the Titanic Cross Body on Sasadango but that only got a two count. Sasadango went for a third Lehmann Shock but LiLiCo escaped and hit the Titanic Yoshi Tonic for the upset title change! The new champion was told her first defence will happen on 3rd July. LiLiCo demanded a handsome wrestler to be her opponent so she can kick the handsome out of him!
Sasaki’s pets teamed together for the first time. The duo Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Polly are nicknamed “Eipo” (for Adrian & Polly) and made sure to make Tetsuya Endo’s night a difficult one. Ishikawa kept Kazusada Higuchi busy while Polly flattened Endo with a Reverse Splash for the win.
The 4 Way Trios match had an extra ingredient of mayhem added by forcing each team to start the match in a different area at ringside. When the bell rang all four teams ran towards the ring and brawled around it. Saki Akai targeted Joey Ryan in an attempt to win back the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title but she wound up getting sucked into Danshoku Dino’s “Hell Gate”. That allowed Ryan to pin Shunma Katsumata with the Super Kick. Kazuki Hirata snuck up to Ryan after the match but his roll up was blocked. Instead he was pinned by Ryan for a successful title defence. Backstage Ryan said he will bring the Iron Man Title back with him to the United States and defend it around the world so he can bring it back to Japan as a global championship.
Sanshiro Takagi invited Makoto Oishi, Shunma Katsumata & Mao Inoue into the ring after Match #2. He announced the three of them were forming DDT’s first male idol group! The reason for this is DDT will be holding a show at a music festival this November and he thinks DDT should get involved in the music aspect too. The name of their group is NωA, New Wrestling Aidoru (Idol) and their songs will be written by the songwriter for the Up Up Girls. Oishi & Katsumata like the idea but Inoue is anxious about it. Their first song is expected to be ready in time for next month’s Korakuen Hall show.
A spot in King Of DDT 2016 was up for grabs in the opening match. It is the latest attempt by KENSO to worm his way into a permanent spot with DDT. Once again he had to fight his nemesis Sanshiro Takagi but this time KENSO had Cherry by his side. Cherry was dressed as a geisha girl for the occasion but was stripped down to her swimsuit and given a Stunner by Takagi. Cherry fled from ringside and the match continued. Takagi was on the verge of winning when suddenly Ultraman Robin entered the ring. Takagi did the “Destiny” pose with Robin until Robin unmasked. It was Cherry! She threw the mask at Takagi and the distraction allowed KENSO to finish him off with the Hagakure. Amon Tsurumi confirmed that KENSO now qualifies for the tournament. KENSO thanked Cherry for helping him and encouraged her to take off the costume. This time Cherry was happy to do so and they celebrated.
Ken Ohka interrupted the opening ceremonies and brought a friend along to see Amon Tsurumi. It was the WRESTLE-1 Champion, KAI! KAI greeted Tsurumi by calling him Imabayashi. Tsurumi corrected him but KAI ignored it. Ohka asked Tsurumi if he and KAI could get a KO-D Tag Team Title shot. They recently won a match together in Ganbare☆Wrestling and he thinks that is good enough to earn them a championship match in DDT. KAI excitedly agreed. Tsurumi tried to calm both of them down while figuring out what to do. He told them he would think it over.
Terry Funk and NOSAWA Rongai were announced to compete at “PETER PAN 2016” in Sumo Hall on 28th August.
DDT will return to the Handmade In Japan Festival at Tokyo Big Sight for a street wrestling match on 24th July. The event takes place on the same day as Big Japan’s Sumo Hall show so that might effect who could be available to participate in the match.
The gender-swapped characters of Akito, Ken Ohka and Soma Takao for Ring☆Dream was shown to the audience. Akito is pleased with his character because she was given the biggest bust by far in the game. It matches his desire to have the biggest pecs in DDT.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & Shuji Ishikawa (c) defeated Akito & Yasu Urano when Sasaki pinned Urano with the Vietnam Driver II (26:34). *V3 for Daisuke Sasaki & Shuji Ishikawa.
Nagoya is Akito’s home but his attempt to win gold in front of his neighbours ended in failure. He & Yasu Urano pulled out that they could do against Daisuke Sasaki & Shuji Ishikawa. They gave Ishikawa a Double Superplex. Urano did a Slingshot Senton out of the ring onto Ishikawa. Urano even attempted a Moonsault but Sasaki rolled out of the way. Akito lifted Sasaki up for the Kinniku Big Move but Ishikawa stopped him with a Running Knee Lift. Ishikawa threw Akito out of ring while Sasaki gave Urano the Vietnam Driver II for a successful KO-D Tag Team Titles defence. Sasaki bragged that he has now defeated all members of Smile Squash.
Team Drift have won the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles for the sixth and possibly final time as a unit. Things weren’t looking good for the challengers when Kazusada Higuchi held onto Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie outside the ring. Shunma Katsumata dove out onto all three of them. Kouki Iwasaki tried to give Soma Takao the Leg Capture Suplex but Takao escaped. He then rolled Iwasaki into the Gin And Tonic to cause the title change. Takao said the DNA team were strong but it was Drift’s superior teamwork that was the difference maker. Irie was happy to win a championship in the city where he had his debut match. Ishii said he has a deep fondness for this championship and their sixth reign was a long time coming. He’s considering whether or not they will defend the title before they disband. Drift will split up on 29th May so time is running short to make the decision.
Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi are back to winning ways. Even though Oishi pinned the rookie Mizuki Watase, he and Dino instead see it as a victory over HARASHIMA. They think that is enough to earn them a KO-D Tag Team Title shot. They realise Sasaki will be busy defending the KO-D Openweight Title soon so they asked Amon Tsurumi if they could challenge for the All Asia Tag Team Titles instead! All they have to do is contact the PWF Chairman, Dory Funk Jr. Tsurumi said that would be impossible but then figured Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto might accept the challenge so they can have an easy title defence. Tsurumi told them he would look into it and to come back to him in a month’s time.
Match #3 was held to determined if KENSO would be allowed into this year’s King Of DDT tournament. He took on Cherry in a match that on paper would favour him heavily. However Cherry fought her hardest and even hit a Top Rope DDT to KENSO. A ref bump led to Ultraman Robin III running down to the ring and unmasking. It was Sanshiro Takagi! He gave KENSO a Stunner and Cherry locked in the Spring Night Love to pin KENSO for the three count. A sad KENSO accepted his failure but Cherry suddenly stood up for him. She criticised Takagi for interfering in the match and for wearing a ridiculous costume. She thinks KENSO deserves one more chance and this time it should be against Takagi himself. Takagi played dumb and said he was Ultraman Robin. Tsurumi said then Robin will be KENSO’s opponent. Takagi immediately took that back and accepted the match for 29th May. Meanwhile KENSO took a liking to Cherry and asked her to be in his corner for the match. He told her has a beautiful American made kimono for her to wear.
Guanchulo now has a Right To Challenge Contract. He, Danshoku Dino and Toru Owashi all have the remaining contracts.
The opening match had to be changed when Mammoth Handa was injured in an accident during his warm up exercises. Sanshiro Takagi was also unexpectedly announced as being absent due to a sudden private matter. Their replacements were Nobuhiro Shimatani and the debuting Ultraman Robin III. Robin’s mask slipped off during the match revealing it to be Takagi as part of his KENSO scheme later on in the show. Shimatani took the mask and decided to wear it. Saki Akai unmasked him and also decided to put it on herself.
