BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS “VOL. 30: NEW MOON ON MONDAY”, 19/05/2026 Tokyo ARENA Shimokitazawa ??? Fans
1. Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda & Chie Koishikawa defeated Dark King Ueki, Munek & Princess Seki when Koishikawa pinned Ueki with a School Boy (17:40).
2. Special Single Match: The Great American Indie Wrestler defeated Anarko Montaña with the Package Piledriver through a Plastic Case (11:50).
3. BK-G Openweight Title: Mr. Bueno (c) defeated Baliyan Akki with the Backslide From California (17:04). *V2 for Mr. Bueno.
4. Special Single Match: Shinya Aoki defeated Mr. Malo with the Bar-Pulled Manjigatame (11:51).
The weirdness of Baka Gaijin + Friends is an atmosphere that Baliyan Akki is quick to adapt to but this is still Mr. Bueno’s house. With his brother Mr. Malo by his side, Bueno was able to survive a potential arm injury to defend the BK-G Openweight Title. Bueno and Malo held Akki in an Arm Wringer and convinced the audience to link up a daisy chain by holding hands together. The Arm Wringer charged through the audience until it rebounded, leading to Akki popping out Bueno’s shoulder. However Bueno popped it back in and tagged Malo to fight for him. Malo threw his poncho over Daisuke Kiso’s head so the referee couldn’t see him give Akki the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Bueno tagged back in and did his own version of the I Am The Apex Elbow Drop. Akki fought against the numbers game and brought a more serious edge to the title match but couldn’t find a way to win. He ended up duelling for a Gory Special position that was instead countered by Bueno into a Backslide Pin to win the match.
Bueno made a demand to Chris Brookes afterwards for Mr. Malo to have a match to close out the show. Brookes told him that all of the wrestlers here had competed already but Bueno revealed he invited his own friend to show up and wrestle Malo. This person is not a “Baka Gaijin” though. He is the “Baka Survivor” Shinya Aoki! He used the tight confines of ARENA Shimokitazawa to keep the fight to mostly grappling holds and chain moves. He then used the scenary to his advantage, putting Malo in a Standing Octopus Hold and reaching up to grab a bar from the ceiling to apply even more pressure until Malo submitted to him.
Anarko Montaña’s original opponent for the show MAO was nowhere to be seen. Instead when it was time for MAO’s entrance, “Walk” by Pantera played and a person known as The Great American Indie Wrestler appeared chanting “Five Star” at everybody. He tried to hype up the crowd by swearing in English over and over until Montaña got the jump on him during a handshake. Wrestler brought out a Singapore Cane to turn the match hardcore but he missed Montaña and hit himself with the stick by mistake. He got his second wind when fans started chanting “Fight Forever” and pulled out a bag filled with another foreign object. He was just as confused as everyone else when he pulled out a carrot from the bag but made up for it by finding a bundle of skewers to dig into the top of Montaña’s head. Montaña brought out a plastic box to try and fight back but was made to regret it when Wrestler crashed him through the box with the Package Piledriver to win the match.
The show started with Ueki’s Magic Kingdom bringing along some surprises for their opponents. First, Munek is completely healed from his neck injury and is able to fight again. However Ram Kaichow isn’t in Japan right now so Dark King Ueki used his magic vase to transfer her captured soul into another body for the time being. That body belongs to Kota Sekifuda so he has now temporarily become Princess Seki! The Kingdom went and captured a member of the audience to hold them hostage while Brookes’s team all fought to rescue her. The Kingdom also grabbed another fan and shoved his face into Ueki’s hairy chest. Things went out of control when Munek used magic on Antonio Honda’s Gongitsune attack, leading to almost everyone being magically forced to Gongitsune pinch their own nipples. Chie Koishikawa ran into the middle of this to stop everyone but they all ganged up on her instead. However she ducked the group Bionic Elbow so they all hit each other and she rolled up Ueki to get the three count.
I’m back home from Vegas and will aim to post the Around The World article about it over the weekend. I haven’t spent much time looking over what happened outside of the shows I went to.

It’s all set for Golden Week. Five years ago Yuki Arai had her pro wrestling debut with Arisu Endo as one of her opponents. Now they are going to fight for the Princess Of Princess Title as part of Arai’s 5th Anniversary! Endo has thought of Arai being TJPW’s ultimate hero but that’s a role she wants for herself. Arai thinks this match is fate because many of her important matches have involved Endo.
The IInspiration were given a fair warning by Miu Watanabe that Rika Tatsumi wanted to meet them. Now they have to deal with Daydream as their next challengers for the Princess Tag Team Titles. Since Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee aren’t in Japan at the moment, Daydream have found two dolls and decorated them to look like The IInspiration. They claim they are just doing it to be cute but everyone else can’t help but think this is mind games coming from the challengers.

You want Baka Gaijin + Friends to get weird, here you go. Zack Sabre Jr. & Chris Brookes are teaming up again as SchadenTekkers to take on the Philippines team of Hotdog De San Jose (I assume that’s Nigel San Jose incognito) & Super P. I got to watch Super P wrestle at the Spark show last weekend. She’s always looking to make new friends.

2. Noise Prevention Silence Death Match: Baliyan Akki Vs Mr. Malo
3. Yuya MAOki & Daisuke Sekifuda Vs Yuya Aoki & Daisuke Sekimoto
4. BK-G Openweight Title: Mr. Bueno (c) Vs Antonio Honda
1. Chris Brookes & Chie Koishikawa defeated “Princess Ram” (Dark King Ueki) & “Munek” (Princess Ram) (w/ “Dark King Ueki” (Munek)) when Koishikawa submitted Ram with an Octopus Hold (12:48).
2. Noise Prevention Silence Death Match: Baliyan Akki defeated Mr. Malo when Malo sneezed (9:01).
3. Yuya Aoki & Daisuke Sekimoto defeated Yuya MAOki & Daisuke Sekifuda when Sekimoto pinned Sekifuda with a Lariat (13:20).
4. BK-G Openweight Title: Mr. Bueno (c) defeated Antonio Honda with a Backslide Pin (19:40). *V1 for Mr. Bueno.
It was back to business as usual for Baka Gaijin + Friends after playing hosts to Mystery Wrestling last month. Although for this show we had a championship challenge laid out in advance. Antonio Honda had confronted Mr. Bueno in the outside world a couple of weeks ago to ask for a shot at the BK-G Openweight Title. When the going got tough for Bueno, he “tagged in” Mr. Malo to help him fight Honda. Malo got away with it by throwing his poncho over Daisuke Kiso’s head so he wouldn’t see anything. Honda then injured his knee but as he tried to tell his Gongitsune joke, Bueno showed good sportsmanship by wrapping tape around the injured knee. He then realized Honda’s injury was something he could target so he focused his attacks there. Honda fought back by choking Bueno with the tape and then using it to tie them together like it was a strap match. It backfired when he ended up tangling his hands together while doing the Bionic Elbow. Bueno blocked the Gongitsune joke because he doesn’t understand Japanese and he ended up countering another Bionic Elbow into a Backslide Pin to win the match. After the match Baliyan Akki walked out and challenged Bueno for the title at the next show on 19th May.
It turns out that Baka Gaijin has its own Strong BK division of wrestlers. MAO & Kota Sekifuda entered the room pretending to be the Big Japan pair of Yuya Aoki and Daisuke Sekimoto. Then the real Aoki and Sekimoto entered the room looking bemused at the appearance of their doppelgangers. For an added BJW bonus, Takayuki Ueki briefly joined Mr. HAKU on commentary to impersonate Hirotsugu Suyama. The real Strong BJ wrestlers showed the pretenders what they are all about but their opponents found spots to copy those movements back at them. What they couldn’t replicate was Sekimoto’s strength. He grabbed Aoki and Sekifuda together to give them a Double German Suplex before Lariating Sekifuda down to the mat for the three count.
Today was Akki’s first time meeting Mr. Malo but there was a communication issue because Malo never speaks. Akki took it upon himself to make Malo speak by force by challenging him to a Noise Prevention Silence Death Match! I either wrestler made a loud sound they would lose so both of them were very careful with how they fought each other. The action was slow and methodical in more ways than one until Kiso was knocked aside. Akki screamed at Malo while Kiso was distracted but Malo fought back by taking out his black mask an wrapping it over Akki’s face. Malo then grabbed a flower and brushed it under Akki’s nose expecting him to sneeze but nothing happened. Instead Akki grabbed the flower a few minutes later and did the same to Malo to get the intended result!
Something felt a bit off about Ueki’s Magic Kingdom in the opening match. Their opponents Chris Brookes & Chie Koishikawa had to ignore the unusual atmosphere to fight their enemies and win the match. “Munek” used a bubble wand to summon walls to throw Brookes into but still had a neck injury to worry about. Brookes & Koishikawa weren’t afraid to target that neck injury when necessary. “Princess Ram” was more focused towards acting cute than usual while “Dark King Ueki” stood on the sidelines instructing his minions. The Magic Kingdom brought out a chained swing to attach from the ceiling but Brookes ended up trapping “Munek” on it in midair, becoming completely unable to save “Ram” from giving up to Koishikawa’s Octopus Hold. Brookes at least had the right idea to lift “Munek” back down after the match.

BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS/MYSTERY WRESTLING “MYSTERY WRESTLING X BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS”, 17/03/2026 Tokyo ARENA Shimokitazawa ??? Fans – Unannounced
1. Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga defeated Dark King Ueki & Princess Ram (w/ Munek) when Suruga pinned Ueki after the Dolphin Press (10:50).
2. HADDY & Junior Benito defeated Antonio Honda & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi when HADDY submitted Honda with the Crossface (10:25).
3. MAO defeated Fuminori Abe with an Side School Boy (12:55).
4. Chris Brookes & El Phantasmo defeated Evil Uno & Kikutaro when Phantasmo pinned Uno with the CR II onto the Plastic Box filled with firecrackers (20:44).
Evil Uno did not come alone for his latest tour of Japan. He brought along some buddies from Mystery Wrestling to be the “Friends” in Baka Gaijin + Friends this month! The two wacky wrestling promotions joined forces for a joint show and Chris Brookes personally welcomed Uno to ARENA Shimokitazawa. The two would face off in a main event tag match with mystery partners. Brookes expected Uno’s partner to be a Canadian wrestler but couldn’t guess who because the other Canadians who travelled over had already wrestled on the undercard. Uno couldn’t afford that but had a friend in Japan willing to team with him. It was Kikutaro! Uno also expected Brookes to have a Japanese tag partner except Brookes admitted he got a Canadian wrestler instead… El Phantasmo! The match was chaotic and full of nonsense that ended up bringing in plastic boxes and firecrackers. Brookes filled up one box with the firecrackers and ELP smashed Uno through it with the CR II to win the match. Brookes then sprayed everyone with a fire extinguisher after the match.
MAO and Fuminori Abe didn’t want to blow the roof off with their match but they almost fell through it! They fought their way outside the building up to the roof where there is a glass ceiling overlooking ARENA Shimokitazawa. They carefully put each other in submission holds while avoiding taking any impactful steps onto the glass. They made their way back down to the room safe and sound but now MAO wanted to try and make Abe throw up. A Thrust Kick to the stomach made Abe gag out some fluid and go double over, allowing MAO to cradle him with an Onryo Clutch to get the win.
The two other Mystery Wrestling talents involved in the show were HADDY & Junior Benito. No matter what experiences they had in Mystery Wrestling before, they had to expect the unexpected against Antonio Honda & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. Or in this case they had to expect the expected because when does Honda wrestle a match without ever doing a Gongitsune joke these days? Honda told his joke in English so they could understand but they still got their eyes poked after it. Things went wrong for Honda & Hiroshi when their Double Bionic Elbow spot hit each other instead of their opponents. HADDY took advantage and pulled Honda down into the Crossface to make him tap out.
Mystery Wrestling has also worked with ChocoPro in the past so it was only fitting for the BestBros to have a match on this show. Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga had to not only fight off Dark King Ueki & Princess Ram but had to worry about the injured Munek interfering with his magic spells. And by magic spells I mean hitting Akki in the back with his crutch. Kaichow dealt with that by grabbing the magic wand off Munek to redirect one of his spells into Ueki and she then snapped the wand in half. The BestBros then pinned Ueki with the Dolphin Press which is impressive given the very tight space inside that bar.

TMDK become the 32nd NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions!
6. IWGP World Heavyweight Title & IWGP Global Heavyweight Title: Yota Tsuji (c/g) defeated KONOSUKE TAKESHITA (c/w) with a Crab Hold (29:20). *V2 for Yota Tsuji. KONOSUKE TAKESHITA fails in V2. Yota Tsuji becomes the 15th IWGP World Heavyweight Champion!
It was all set up for DDT to hijack one of the biggest wrestling events to happen in years but in the end it was all dashed away. Oh well at least New Japan made all of the right moves to help take care of their own problems. On the day that Hiroshi Tanahashi ended his legendary wrestling career, Konosuke Takeshita was there in the semi-final of the Tokyo Dome taking part in a double championship match against Yota Tsuji. Takeshita was putting the IWGP World Heavyweight Title on the line while Tsuji was defending the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title. Instead of wearing the “blessed” kneepad from yesterday’s DDT show, Takeshita had a different costume on that included a red bandana wrapped around his arm. It was later confirmed to belong to Shinsuke Nakamura who couldn’t be there on the night. The grand battle came down to Takeshita and Tsuji charging into each other, Wagamama versus Gene Blaster. The Gene Blast won out but rather than go for the pin, Tsuji instead put Takeshita in the Crab Hold to make him tap out! Takeshita admitted defeat afterwards but knows he can get stronger and climb higher. According to him, this is just the beginning.
Kaisei Takechi’s appearance in the Tornado Rambo match turned out to be rather pointless. He got to make a big entrance along with the rest of THE RAMPAGE with a live performance of the song “BREAK IT DOWN”. However the rules of the match resulted in his team’s elimination happening in a rather uneventful manner. Yuya Uemura and Taichi eliminated each other double Battle Royal style, meaning both of their teams were taken out of the match too. It wasn’t really a good showcase for Takechi, Uemura or Shota Umino in anyway outside of THE RAMPAGE entrance. Takechi wants to team up with the others again because he regrets how little they did in the match. Then maybe after that he could fight against them too.
The pre-show match allowed Chris Brookes to bring some SCHADENFREUDE International energy into the Tokyo Dome. With the likes of Antonio Honda, Baliyan Akki, Munetatsu Nakamura and Bunbun on his side, Brookes got to pull out the rubber band spot that stretched all the way up the Tokyo Dome entrance ramp. El Phantasmo had too much fight in him though and he kicked out of the Praying Mantis Bomb. Brookes kicked out of the CRIII but ELP quickly hit him with the Super Thunder Kiss ’86 to successfully defend the NJPW World TV Title. Backstage ELP talked about how a decade ago Brookes was one of the few wrestlers to give him a hand while he was touring the UK and that always meant a lot to him. He also talked about how the health scare Brookes had last year is what led to him finding out about his own cancer diagnosis months later. For that he will be forever greatful to Brookes. He also predicts 2026 is going to be a crazy year for pro wrestling in Japan and today they got to give everyone a taste of what it could be like.

7. Mr. Bueno & MAO defeated Chris Brookes & Zack Sabre Jr. when Bueno pinned Brookes with a Diving Body Press from the human pyramid (?:??).
Let’s give it up for Chris Brookes making it to 18 years in the wrestling business! Let’s give it up to Baka Gaijin + Friends for making it to three years too. The third anniversary for this island of misfit toys was held away from the usual home of ARENA Shimokitazawa. They went for a bigger room this time by going to Shinjuku FACE but still held the show without a ring to keep it as the genuine article.
The main event was Brookes taking on someone who was kept a mystery to the fans until it was time for his entrance. It was Zack Sabre Jr.! The name of the bout was “A Match Of Hate?” and the two showed no mercy to each other by fighting amongst the crowd. Sabre’s close friend Antonio Honda had no choice but to do the rubber band spot to him while Brookes also dropped a child onto Sabre’s prone body afterwards. Sabre got some of his own licks in by Back Body Dropping Brookes onto the venue’s counter before bringing him back to the centre of the room to further pick Brookes apart. The two continued to go back and forth until Brookes gave Sabre the Praying Mantis Bomb and the bell rang to signal a time limit draw.
The action didn’t stop there because after the match MAO interrupted Brookes on the microphone and started arguing with him. Mr. Bueno ran down to bring peace but was left insulted when Sabre told him to fuck off. Everyone then started telling each other to fuck off until MAO & Bueno agreed to fight Brookes & Sabre, starting an impromptu bonus tag match! More chaotic brawling followed and screeched to a halt when Sabre tripped over the mat and hurt his knee. Honda got on the microphone to tell a Gongitsune joke only for MAO to stop him. MAO then summoned all of the other wrestlers on the show to lead a train attack at Sabre seated in the remains of the front row. That ended when Minoemon stopped himself in front of Sabre to tell him he was Minoru Suzuki in disguise! The two hugged and launched a counter attack on everyone, Brookes included. Their rampage was stopped with a fire extinguisher attack from Takagi Sanshirobo, which then resulted in Takayuki Ueki & Munetatsu Nakamura entering the room as cops. They suddenly held everyone at gunpoint threatening to shut the show down. MAO disarmed Nakamura but tragedy struck during the scramble to get the other gun from Ueki. Brookes succeeded in grabbing the gun but accidentally shot Sabre in the process! Brookes cradled the wounded Sabure in his arms until Sabre fainted. Out of desperation, Brookes charged the other team only to get knocked out by MAO’s Hurricane Kick. Bueno then threw Takeshi Masada on top of Brookes and ordered all of the other wrestlers to form a pyramid for him to climb. From the top of the pyramid, Bueno thanked the fans and jumped off to hit a Diving Body Press onto Masada and Brookes. He then pinned Brookes for the victory. After the match Brookes revived Sabre by pouring a can of beer into his mouth.
The stakes were high for the fated singles battle between Mr. Malo and Mr. Bueno. First, the BK-G Openweight Title held by Malo was on the line. Not only that but the loser of the match would have to unmask! Bueno had Malo’s cheating scouted yet respectfully kept allowing Malo to get back to his feet so they could fight on even terms. His good sportsmanship almost blew the match for him when Malo used the ref Daisuke Kiso to shield himself and then Low Blow his opponent after Kiso was thrown aside. But Bueno kicked out of a DDT and the Unprettier. He then got his momnentum back through a series of cradles that ended with him pinning Malo with a Hurricanrana to win the championship! Still, Bueno was too much of a good person to unmask his opponent afterwards, instead allowing Malo to take off the mask himself. Malo placed his poncho over his head and pulled the mask off. He then removed the poncho to reveal he is now wearing a white mask instead of his black on. Bueno couldn’t believe what he saw until he found the words to tell everyone what he was looking at… “My brother? I thought you died. I’m so happy!” The two brothers, now united, hugged to the applause of everyone in the room.
The Great Baka Mecha Wars couldn’t wait for all of the participants to be involved before it began. Mecha MAO and Takagi Sanshirobo immediately went to fight each other but soon the third fighter appeared. It was Minoemon, who as mentioned above was Minoru Suzuki disguised as the anime character Doraemon. He sat around with a bag of groceries, drinking beer and eating dorayaki until the other two robots attacked him. Minoemon and Sanshirobo brawled in the crowd while Mecha MAO stacked up some plastic cases and set out a table on top of them in the middle of the room. Mecha MAO and Sanshirobo then formed their own Megazord combination but it was all ruined when Minoemon poured water over the both of them. Mecha MAO short circuited around the room while Minoemon gave Sanshirobo the Gotch-Style Piledriver through the table and plastic cases to win the Mecha War.
The Brahman Brothers made a mess of their own with their match against Ueki’s Magic Kingdom. Things were made even worse when Karate Brahman decided to wipe natto all over his head. Dark King Ueki, Munek & Princess Ram all getting blinded with powder after that counts as a mercy killing in my book. I guess the damsel in distress who was kidnapped by the kingdom before the match was rescued as a result but it was anything but happy ever after.
Three members of the Daisetz band teamed up with one of their adoring fans in an 8-Man Tag Match. Chie Koishikawa was running around waving lightsticks for Antonio Honda, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Hagane Shinno during their entrance. Facing them were the international foursome of Baliyan Akki from India, Shivam & Jonathan Johnson from Thailand and Sayaka from Japan. The two sides ended up getting into a Bionic Elbow duel. Everything then broke down until the Egg Tart team of Shinno & Koishikawa double cradled Sayaka for the pinfall.
The show opened with Shunma Katsumata announcing a Baka Battle Royal full of surprise entrants. Fuminori Abe and HARASHIMA started things off then were quickly joined by Shota and K4PY. Then Kota Sekifuda appeared carrying a large snake! He chased the wrestlers into the crowd where Abe picked up a child to hold up near the snake. HARASHIMA forced Abe to apologise while Sekifuda continued scaring everyone with his pet, even making Yukinori Matsui tap out even though he wasn’t part of the match. HARASHIMA finally put a stop to things by putting Sekifuda in a Cobra Twist while the snake was twisting itself around Sekifuda. He gave up and was the first elimination from the match. Shota was the next one gone when he and Takeshi Masada fought over a Backslide Pin. Abe kicked Masada in the stomach, unintentionally helping him roll Shota over for the pinfall. Suddenly danger happened when Dr. Cube entered the Battel along with two Kaiju from his posse: Erebus & Eargernon II. Together they ran wild on the other wrestlers and eliminated Abe, Masada and K4PY all at once. HARASHIMA showed shades of HERO! in trying to fight Dr Cube’s Posse off but he too also fell to them. It was all up to Shin Suzuki to save the day as the final entrant. He grabbed Dr. Cube’s helmet and twisted it off, removing his grisly face beneath and knocking him out with a neck snap in the process. He then pinned Erebus with the Takatonic to fully eliminate the Posse, making him the last man standing.
