You ever had a holiday thay you enjoyed so much that you went back the next year only to suffer from diminishing returns? That feels like the story of Tokyo Joshi Pro coming back to Las Vegas during WrestleMania Week for the second year in a row. A combination of much higher ticket prices, a WrestleMania that is attracting far less travelling fans than usual for numerous reasons, an earlier slot in the week (Thursday morning instead of Friday morning) and how late it took for the show to be announced resulted in only 424 fans coming out to the Pearl Theater compared to last year’s number of 812 fans. And even then I’m sceptical that 424 is the genuine number. Being there in the building there ended up being two groups of fans, those in the front rows and those sitting up in the back. In between that was a no man’s land swathe of almost entirely empty seats. When it was time for the semi-main event, security allowed everyone at the back to move down to closer roads just so the crowd could be seen on camera for the broadcast. They did the same thing for the CMLL show that took place afterwards but made that decision at the start of the show.
In the main event Yuki Arai successfully retained the Princess Of Princess Title in her first defence. Her American challenger J-Rod got close to winning when she hit the Ultimate Spear but Arai grabbed the ropes to break the pin at the last second. J-Rod lost her focus and argued with the referee before running into Arai’s Big Boot and getting sent shoulder first in between the turnbuckles. Arai then found the power to give J-Rod the Full Nelson Buster before pinning her with the Finally. After the match Arai told J-Rod how happy she for getting to meet her and she loves her. J-Rod shook Arai’s hand and said she loves her too, just don’t forget she still wants to win the title. Arai suggested they form a Blue and White tag team together the next time they see each other. She also told fans TJPW will come back to America again.
The IInspiration are still the Princess Tag Team Champions after they fought through Kyoraku Kyomei’s shenanigans. Hyper Misao kept her pre-match speech short so she & Shoko Nakajima could quickly go on the attack. Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee were rolled up into the ring apron together but made their escape and took everything the challengers threw at them. They were able to take Misao out of the running and then pin Nakajima with the Idolizer. Misao admitted that Kyoraku Kyomei were thrown off their game despite being TJPW’s trickiest tag team. They feel embarrased because they gave The IInspiration so much trash talk leading up to the match. Later backstage The IInspiration called themselves fighting champions who will next defend the belts at the 4th May Korakuen Hall show. Miu Watanabe approached them and introduced herself. She told The IInspiration that Rika Tatsumi would like to meet them so they should look forward to defending the titles against Daydream at Korakuen.
It was a clean sweep of title defences across the board, starting with Suzume beating Sakura Hattori to remain the International Princess Champion. Hattori almost overwhelmed Suzume with her ninja techniques but showed a glimmer of her own self when she decided to attempt Kaya Toribami’s finishing move, the Sento Choryu. It turned out to be her fatal mistake in the match because first she slipped off the rope and then when she pulled off the move, Suzume dodged it. Hattori switched back to her ninja moves but by that point the momentum was shifting and Suzume pinned her with the Ring A Bell. Suzume said the experience of defending the IP Title in Vegas two years in a row reaffirms her desire to take the championship around the world. Hattori said she will always have her sights set on the IP Title, no matter who is the champion.
In the battle between TJPW’s three most dominant monsters princesses ever, Miyu Yamashita stood tall as the most powerful monster princess! She ran around kicking Mizuki and Watanabe all over the ring as well as the stage while Mizuki did her big Diving Foot Stomp jumps off the ramp. Both of them tried to grab onto anything for dear life whenever Watanabe tried to put them in the Giant Swing. Mizuki flubbed the Whirling Candy but was able to get Watanabe with it on the second attempt. Watanabe also got hit with the Skull Kick. Mizuki tried to capitalise by giving Yamashita the Cutie Special and then land the Diving Foot Stomp onto Watanabe. But Yamashita broke the pin and nailed Mizuki with the Crash Rabbit Heat to win.
The Love Triangle brought out a giant dice to use in their trios match. Pom Harajuku gave it a roll and got the number three, so he attacked HIMAWARI three times. HIMAWARI then rolled it and got a six, then found out it meant Harajuku could attack her six times. Alexis Lee found a way to stop Raku from doing Poppo Chops by simply biting her arm. Shino Suzuki rolled the dice only to score a one but HIMAWARI grabbed Harajuku so Suzuki could hit her as much as she wanted. Suzuki didn’t have the same luck against Yuki Aino though. Aino got the better of her and won the match with the Venus DDT.
Wakana Uehara achieved two big wins today. The first was from Ober Eats beating Toga & Uta Takami in the opening bout. The other happened later that night when Uehara demolished an Octuple Bypass burger at the Heart Attack Grill in Fermont Street! I think Yuki Kamifuku was just happy to have scored the winning pinfall in the match and probably went somewhere else for dinner.

The second half of the Vancouver tour was also the go home show for the upcoming show in Las Vegas. The main event had the Princess Of Princess Champion and International Princess Champion teaming up to fight their Vegas challengers. J-Rod almost took care of the two champions all by herself when she lifted up both Yuki Arai & Suzume into a Double Samoan Drop. Sakura Hattori took over to try and finish off Suzume but fell to the Ring A Bell instead, handing the ninja her first proper defeat since her gimmick change. After the match Arai & Suzume told the fans that they want to come back to Vancouver. Sayuri Namba finished the show by saying Tokyo Joshi Pro made so many new friends this weekend and Tokyo Joshi Pro would love to see them all again.
Back in 2023 Miyu Yamashita and Nicole Matthews swapped wins against each other with singles matches held in Canada and America. Today was the rubber match and Yamashita dodged Matthews finisher to bounce off the rope and knock her down with the Skull Kick. Yamashita recalled her first match with Matthews in Canada and said she never forgot that day. She was able to win today but it was a close call, which means Yamashita needs to get even stronger. Matthews hopes she gets to fight her again someday so she can even the score 2-2.
An interesting opponent was found for Miu Watanabe. She took on Cherry Blossom, a Japanese woman who lives in Canada and trained to become a pro wrestler over there after becoming a fan a few years ago. She’s only about a year into her wrestling career and was put through her paces by Watanabe. Despite making a comeback, Blossom made the rookie mistake of charging right into Watanabe’s counter and she was beaten with the Tear Drop. When Watanabe learned of Blossom’s background, she was happy to find another Japanese person to share her love of pro wrestling with while in Vancouver.
First, Raku & Pom Harajuku entered their match eating packets of crisps. Then during the match they briefly ran off and wheeled out a trolly that had been converted into the “412 RakuPom” bus! Harajuku climbed into it and Raku pushed her all the way into Liiza Hall at ringside! However Uta Takami grabbed hold of Raku to stop her from getting into the ring while Hall gave Harajuku a Cattle Mutilation followed by the Piledriver for the victory.

Tokyo Joshi Pro’s debut weekend in Canada got off to a hot start with a sold out crowd attending the show that Sayuri Namba helped put together. In the main event, J-Rod teamed up with her previous rival Miu Watanabe as to form a powerhouse tag team for Yuki Arai & Wakana Uehara to try and overcome. They came close by trapping their opponents in their signature submissions at the same time but it didn’t last. Watanabe intercepted Arai with a Power Slam, leaving Uehara vulnerable to get pinned by J-Rod’s Ultimate Spear. After the match J-Rod called herself and Watanabe the Muscle Sisters. Backstage Arai said she will do her best for tomorrow’s match and also for the Princess Of Princess Title bout in Las Vegas next week.
It was a rough day in the ring for HIMAWARI. She wrestled twice today, also appearing on the Mystery Wrestling show that was held in the same venue. On both shows she lost her matches to Nicole Matthews. Here, Matthews called the tag a rehearsal for tomorrow’s rubber match against Miyu Yamashita where they are currently 1-1 against each other. Liiza Hall is also betting on having the momentum to win her match tomorrow too.

6. Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Arisu Endo defeated Shoko Nakajima, Mizuki & Uta Takami when Watanabe pinned Takami with the Tear Drop (16:59).
A successful tour of Texas has now come to an end. Even though the final show was the lowest drawing one of the lot, it was also the only one to sell out. At the end of the show Miu Watanabe told the crowd it was a very happy Texas tour for Tokyo Joshi Pro and they will definitely do it again. Until then, TJPW wants Texas to pay attention to “GRAND PRINCESS ’26” on 29th March. Arisu Endo said the tour was so much fun because she could hear so many people cheering in every arena. Rika Tatsumi said the tour is so exciting that she can’t stop feeling excited.
When wrestlers travel together, it is often inevitable that one will pull a rib on the other that kind of goes out of control. Yuki Arai had no idea what was in store for her when Pom Harajuku wheeled down a gacha machine to the ring during their match. Harajuku revealed she had stolen Arai’s house key and hid it in one of the gacha capsules! Arai had to keep pulling out different capsules to find her key otherwise she wouldn’t be able to go home to Japan. She eventually got it back and pinned Harajuku with the Modified Brainbuster to get some payback.

6. Shoko Nakajima & Yuki Arai defeated Miu Watanabe & Miyu Yamashita when Nakajima pinned Yamashita with the Diving Senton (16:48).
After a couple days off it was onto Show #3 of the Texas Stampede tour. Tokyo Joshi Pro was now visiting Arlington near Dallas and again grew a very strong attendance number. I still have my doubts over how many of these tickets were being comped or heavily discounted but TJPW being able to attract 1,400+ people each time for three seperate shows held in America within a week is an achievement no matter how it was done.
Today’s main event was the last preview match between Miu Watanabe and Yuki Arai before “GRAND PRINCESS ’26” takes place next weekend. However the final moments of the match instead focused on Miyu Yamashita and Shoko Nakajima continuing on from their singles match in Austin a few days ago. Nakajima countered the Attitude Adjustment into a Hurricanrana and then ran over to dive out of the ring onto Watanabe. Back in the ring Arai cut off Watanabe with a Big Boot and hit the Finally kick on her afterward. Nakajima then got to the top rope and hit the Diving Senton onto Yamashita to get the three count. Backstage Nakajima said she got revenge for losing to Yamashita a few days ago and since it was in a tag match, it is double the payback! She’s now ready to go fight with the Super Sentai in Sumo Hall next weekend. Arai would have liked to directly beat Watanabe today but thinks she at least now has momentum after she finally hit the Finally on her rival. Watanabe admitted to feeling humiliated from being hit with that move after being able to avoid it up until now.
A flight delay sadly prevented Jada Stone from making it to the show so her match against Rika Tatsumi was scrapped. Tatsumi was instead added to the Mizuki Vs Hyper Misao bout to make it a 3 Way Match. Misao talked to the fans in English before the match began, telling everyone that Mizuki is a devil and Tatsumi is crazy. She then told fans not to worry about them hearing that because neither of them understand English. During the match Misao would wrap up her opponents together with the detached ring apron and then crash the Hyper Dramatic Dream into them. There was also a castle of chairs built near the entrance for Misao to cycle towards but the bike fell apart before she could get there. She instead charged towards her opponents on foot and ended up being sent crashing into the castle by herself. Chaos continued with Mizuki climbing up the entrance gate to do a Diving Cross Body onto everybody standing on the entrance ramp. Mizuki then brought Misao back to the ring and hit the Diving Foot Stomp on her to win the match.
Raku & Pom Harajuku continued showing off their love for Buc-ee by wearing their one piece outfits of the mascot for their match again. They also wheeled out a gachapon machine to use against Daisy Monkey, first by pushing the machine into them and then by pulling out gacha toys to use as weapons. Daisy Monkey got their own back by stripping the Buc-ee outfits off their opponents and then putting it on themselves. Raku threw the empty gacha balls at Arisu Endo to break up the Camel Clutch she had put Harajuku in. Suzume helped Endo get rid of Raku and Endo went on to pin Harajuku with the Ju no Okite.

Day 2 of the Texas Stampede tour was also the last of Tokyo Joshi Pro’s appearances at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin. Just like yesterday they drew a really good turnout although it’s currently not possible to tell how much of the crowd were ticket buyers and how many got comped in through their SXSW passes. Still, everyone working the show gathered together at the end to thank the city of Austin for hosting them over the last two days. After taking a break for a couple of days, TJPW will next move on to Dallas and Houston this weekend for the remaining dates of their tour.
While yesterday’s show had a focus around building towards “GRAND PRINCESS ’26”, today’s match lineup was more scattershot. Miu Watanabe & Suzume teamed up in the main event just over two months after they fought each other for the Princess Of Princess Title at the annual 4th January show in Korakuen Hall. Their opponents Mizuki & Uta Takami started off as a makeshift team entering the Max Heart Tournament until they went on a Cinderella run all the way to the final. It was nothing but pride on the line and the two teams still showed out. Mizuki countered the Tear Drop into the Whirling Candy then Takami dazed Watanabe with her speed to get her into the Koala Clutch. Watanabe got a rope break the first time then countered a second Koala Clutch into a Power Slam. Watanabe then used her power to fight off her opponents two against one until Suzume jumped in to give Mizuki the Ring A Bell. Watanabe then finished off Takami with the Tear Drop for the victory.
The two longest active wrestlers in the TJPW roster faced off in the semi-main event. Both Miyu Yamashita and Shoko Nakajima have been with the promotion since pretty much the beginning yet it’s been around two and a half years since they last had a singles match against each other. Neither wanted to lose and pulled out the abilities to kick out of each other’s finishers. Yamashita kicked out of the Northern Lights Suplex while Nakajima was lucky to had been standing on the ring apron when she was hit with the Skull Kick. That meant she had to be dragged away from the ropes giving her enough recovery time to kick out of the pin. However Yamashita caught Nakajima off guard with a Running Knee Strike to the back, leaving her as a sitting duck for the Crash Rabbit Heat. Backstage Yamashita said she doesn’t get to wrestle her contemporaries one on one as often as she used to because the TJPW roster keeps growing with new members. But Nakajima is an opponent who always makes Yamashita feel the need to get even stronger. Nakajima said Yamashita somehow becomes 100 times more motivated whenever she is in America, like the country gives her some sort of skills buff. They’ll be wrestling each other in a tag match on the Houston show so she will aim to get revenge for today’s loss over there.
When Rika Tatsumi found out they were selling popcorn in the venue she couldn’t help but get a bucket for herself. Thankfully some fans standing ahead of her in the queue decided to give her their bucket and she accepted the gift. She then force fed Yuki Aino the popcorn while they wrestled their match.
Both Raku & Pom Harajuku entered the ring for their match wearing Buc-ee one piece outfits. Meanwhile the referee known only to everyone as Mike tried to plug his ears with tissue to block out Harajuku’s screaming. It worked until Harajuku pulled the tissue out of his ears. Ober Eats got fed up with the other team’s antics and stripped them out of the outfits. Wakana Uehara then got the rare boos against her by throwing the costumes out of the ring. Harajuku later brought the costumes back for the hot tag, giving one to Yuki Kamifuku so she could challeng her to a Buc-ee Fight! Kamifuku joined in the fun but ruined it by poking Harajuku in the eyes before pinning her with the Famouser.
The emergence of Sakura Hattori sparked some curiosity in Hyper Misao. Before their match began, Misao avoided shaking Hattori’s hand to get on the microphone. She wanted to ask Hattori two questions. First, is she a ninja? Hattori nodded. Second, is she justice? Hattori wouldn’t answer and also slapped away a handshake so Misao determined she must be evil! Misao attacked her with such heroic actions as spraying her in the face and crashing the Hyper Dramatic Dream into her at ringside. But back in the ring Hattori dodged the Hypami Returns, tripped Misao down and then tangled her up in a llave style cradle to pin her for the three count.
Yuki Arai displayed brand new wrestling gear in the opening match. She rekindled her Kyoto Tag team with Mifu Ashida to take on the makeshift pairing of Arisu Endo & Shino Suzuki. Late in the match Arai put Suzuki in the Scorpion Death Lock but Endo broke it up with a Super Kick. Ashida got Endo with a Hook Kick before throwing her away with a German Suplex. She then helped Arai give Suzuki the Full Nelson Buster. After that, Arai used a new Spinning Brainbuster to win the match.
The show again opened up with a performance by The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) along with the Megami Maids while Sayuri Namba hosted everything.

6. Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi defeated Yuki Kamifuku & Yuki Arai when Watanabe pinned Arai with the Tear Drop (15:08).
Last year’s Texas tour was such a smash hit for Tokyo Joshi Pro that they’ve done it again this year, this time on a bigger scale. Four shows are on the bill this time around with the first two taking place in Austin as part of the SXSW festival. The crowd at the show were a mix of ticket buyers and festival attendees which all added up to a total announced attendance of 1,951 fans for the show. How much the split is between ticket buyers and festival passes hasn’t been revealed (and probably won’t be until well after the series has ended) but it is still a great number to start with for the tour.
Day 1 of the tour provided plenty of warm up matches for “GRAND PRINCESS ’26” happening back in Japan at the end of the month. Miu Watanabe and Yuki Arai had another tag team clash against each other. Watanabe had Rika Tatsumi as her partner and the combined strength of Daydream was too much for the Double YUKI pair of Arai & Yuki Kamifuku to handle. Tatsumi’s Hip Attack broke Watanabe free from Arai’s Scorpion Death Lock, then Watanabe went on a roll by Backbreaking Kamifuku out of action before hitting her signature moves on Arai for the victory. Daydream told the fans to come back tomorrow so TJPW can spread their love even further across Texas.
Before Kamifuku went out to wrestle in the main event, she got to watch her Ober Eats tag partner Wakana Uehara face The IInspiration in a preview of their Princess Tag Team Titles match at Sumo Hall. Uehara & Shoko Nakajima did their best but weren’t able to pull off the win. Jessie McKay blocked Uehara’s attempt at the Sushi Tornado and instead gave her the Pedigree. Nakajima was then taken out with a Blue Thunder Bomb from Cassie Lee, leaving Uehara defenceless. The IInspiration then put her away with their Magic Killer style Flapjack finisher called The IIdolizer. We’ll next see them at Sumo Hall when they will challenge Ober Eats for the Princess Tag Titles.
Today is a very happy birthday for Miyu Yamashita because she received a warm welcome from the Texas crowd and also got to Skull Kick Yuki Aino’s head off. Meanwhile Mizuki was able to arm herself with another Pico Pico Hammer to replace the one that was recently stolen from her. She proved to be some trouble for Yamashita & Arisu Endo to handle. Aino tried to push her weight around with Shoulder Blocks to Yamashita but then the Skull Kick took her down and out.
Hyper Misao spoke in English to introduce herself and Mifu Ashida to the fans. However by the time she was done, Raku & Pom Harajuku decided to take a nap in the middle of the ring. Ashida tried to wake them up with her cheering but it didn’t work. It was all a trap for the other team to roll them up for nearfall. Outside the ring Misao crashed the Hyper Dramatic Dream into the other team. Harajuku would get her revenge later in the match when Raku suddenly wheeled her out in her own Tesla and used it to run Misao over! Raku then got back into the ring to pin Ashida with the Doctor Yellow.
The former Kaya Toribami has now become Sakura Hattori with today’s show being the debut of her new persona. Gone is the high flying skills of the cassowary and in its place were agility and strikes taken from ninja jujutsu. A Flying Forearm got Hattori a nearfall but Shino Suzuki fought back by putting all of her power into a Sleeper Hold and the Swinging Neckbreaker. Hattori blocked the Belly-To-Belly Suplex and kicked out of the Rolling Backward Cradle before grabbing Suzuki in her new submission finisher. It is a Kata-Gatame style Shoulder Hold called the Shinden Fudo Ryu Majime Ura.
The opener saw Suzume defeat Uta Takami without too much trouble. She had a mishap when Takami dodged the Mikazuki Meteor Shower but Suzume quickly got back control by using the Corner Dive Facecrusher to shut down her opponent’s comeback. One Ring A Bell later and Suzume had her hand raised in victory.
It was as authentic a TJPW show that the promotion and their partners Tokyo Story USA could put together. Sayuri Namba was the ring announcer and The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) performed a song at the start of the show. Just like with last year’s tour, they were joined by the Megami Maids for the performance.

An ambitious collaboration merging pro wrestling with idol music gave both DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro an opportunity to step foot into Malaysia for the very first time. The event aimed to mix cool with cute as the wrestling portion would be provided by DDT and TJPW while musical performances by The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling), NGT48 and KLP48 took place in between the matches. Several wrestlers from the local scene were involved too, getting to grab some attention for themselves while representing Malaysia Pro Wrestling (MYPW). The show also counts as Marika Kobashi’s first time wrestling on a TJPW event since she graduated from the promotion back in 2022.
Sanshiro Takagi said in backstage comments that the event ended without a hitch. He is deeply moved to see how well Japan’s pro wrestling and idol cultures were embraced by the Malaysian audience. Both Miu Watanabe and Yuki Arai said they would love to come back and bring everyone from TJPW over next time.
