Tokyo Joshi Pro Update, New Trainees, NOZOMI Resigns

November 30, 2012

shinmei-kiba-yamashita

After a long, quiet period without any news, Tokyo Joshi Pro held a press conference today in the Dropkick Bar to announce its pre-debut plans as well as introduce three new trainees. But first, Tetsuya Koda announced that NOZOMI had resigned from the promotion. NOZOMI was the first and until recently only woman attached to the project since its formation earlier this year. She was not in attendance but did leave a message that Koda read out. According to NOZOMI, she joined the organisation so that she would someday get to be in the ring with her brother Takashi Dai. When Dai left DDT in October due to his injuries, NOZOMI no longer had any reason she wanted to stay with the company. NOZOMI will continue to wrestle and she apologised to everyone for her decision to leave.

Koda moved on and announced that Tokyo Joshi Pro will begin holding pre-debut events in Akihabra once a month starting in January. The events will consist of public training sessions and exhibition matches. He then introduced the three new trainees Kanna Shinmei, Chikage Kiba and Miyu Yamashita.

Kanna Shinmei
Age: 16
Birthplace: Kanagawa
Height: 165cm

Kanna became a wrestling fan when she watched Tiger Mask Vs Dynamite Kid matches on a DVD she borrowed from a friend. She wishes to learn the same “godlike technique” and become strong. She is now a fan of Dragon Gate, Freedoms, K-DOJO and DDT. Her current favorite wrestlers are Ken Ohka and DJ Nira. She wants to become a power fighter like Daisuke Sekimoto.

Chikage Kiba
Age: 17
Birthplace: Tokyo
Height: 149cm

Chikage is a fan of martial arts in general. She knows sambo and karate and often trains in self defence classes. She is a fan of the DEEP MMA promotion and All Japan Pro Wrestling. Her favorite fighters are Yuichiro Nagashima and Mizuto Hirota. Her hobby is cosplay and she often attends such events with friends. Recently she has dressed up as Vocaloid characters.

Miyu Yamashita
Age: 17
Birthplace: Fukuoka
Height: 164cm

Miyu had trained in martial arts since she was a child but her real dream is to become an idol. She auditioned for groups in the past but never passed them. She was introduced to Tokyo Women’s Wrestling by MIKAMI and her goal is to now become a pop singing and dancing pro wrestler. She loves Atsuko Maeda, formerly of AKB48.

All three were asked about NOZOMI’s resignation. Shinmei said it felt like a large presence had now disappeared. She is nervous but thinks that is a good thing. Kiba said it was very unfortunate but she is motivated to work hard and possibly become best friends with the other trainees. Yamashita didn’t give much of an answer.

Tokyo Joshi Pro will continue searching for more trainees. They are looking for physically and mentally healthy women aged between 15 to 25 years old.

5. Double Ring 5 Way Match: HARASHIMA Vs Kenny Omega Vs Sanshiro Takagi Vs Danshoku Dino Vs Hikaru Sato
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: MIKAMI & Tatsumi Fujinami (c) Vs Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi

The Imanari Team of Kota Ibushi and his chubby doppelganger Gota Ihashi have been given a KO-D Tag Team Title shot after Ihashi requested for one at Korakuen Hall this past weekend. Ihashi looks ready to kick it up a notch and finally become a more established member of the DDT roster. The key might be for him to copy Ibushi even more. The colours and design of his ring gear is now identical to Ibushi’s.

A change in the card sees Antonio Honda taken out of the Double Ring match. Danshoku Dino and Hikaru Sato are both added in, making this a 5 Way Match. Honda is now in a Monster Army plus Batten Tamagawa (for America!) Vs Team Dream Futures bout.

DDT “NEVER MIND 2012”, 23/12/2012
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi Vs HARASHIMA & Hiro Tsumaki
2. Sanshiro Takagi, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima Vs Monster Army
3. KO-D Openweight Title: El Generico (c) Vs Kenny Omega

Two months after they teamed together over in America for PWG, El Generico and Kenny Omega will soon collide over in Japan for DDT. Omega has voiced his displeasure at seeing Generico quickly achieve what he could not, victories over Kota Ibushi and winning the KO-D Openweight Championship. Generico has chosen Omega as his next challenger so the Canadian now has a chance to win the title he craves so much.

Antonio Honda’s stealing spree in the DDT locker room has gotten out of hand. His bad habit of stealing wrestling gear to sell online and raise funds for the Monster Army has finally gotten him into trouble. The straw that broke the camel’s back is a suitcase with a mystery item inside that Honda stole from Tsurumi Amon. Sanshiro Takagi has hired two powerful men to go after the Monster Army for their crimes. The team is none other than Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima! Takagi and TenKoji have banded together to become the COZY Police Force and their goal is to stop Honda from stealing more stuff. Takagi also wants his 3:46 entrance vest back, which Honda stole and gave to Hoshitango. The unknown factor right now is who out of the Monster Army will fight the Police. Will it be all of them?

3. Danshoku Dino & DJ Nira defeated Michael Nakazawa & Hiroshi Fukuda when Nira pinned Fukuda after the Danshoku Driver (6:43).
4. Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega & Gota Ihashi defeated Yuji Hino, Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki when Ihashi pinned Honda with the Frog Splash (10:17).
5. KO-D Openweight Title: El Generico (c) defeated MIKAMI with the Brainbustaaaaahhhhh!!!!! (16:30).
*V2 for El Generico.
6. Poison Sawada JULIE Retirement Match: Hiro Tsumaki, Tetsuya Endo & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Poison Sawada JULIE, Takatoge & JARASHIMA when Takeshita pinned JULIE with the Touchdown (10:57).

Poison Sawada JULIE has retired from wrestling after 24 years of sleaze. Vipers, poison, the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title, snake magic, petrification, cloning, scorpions, feuds with karate dojos, time travel, a match against Masahiro Chono, J-Pop tribute acts and more. Poison Sawada had done it all in the Japanese wrestling scene. But his time has finally come to an end and efforts must be put in place for the new generation of wrestlers to shine, as highlighted by Sawada’s retirement match. Konosuke Takeshita is learning fast and now has two main event wins in a row.

El Generico passed his second defence of the KO-D Openweight Title against a very tough opponent. Generico praised MIKAMI for being a great challenger. The champion was given the chance to select his next opponent for 23rd December. That was when Kenny Omega entered the ring. He told Generico (in Japanese) he was upset with how Generico was able to quickly achieve goals that Omega couldn’t do during his 4 year stay in DDT. Generico was able to beat Kota Ibushi before Omega could. Generico was able to win the KO-D Title before Omega could. Generico simply replied by saying “I don’t speak Japanese.” Nevertheless, he chose Kenny Omega to be his next challenger.

It can now safely be said that Antonio Honda has a case of kleptomania. This time around, Honda stole leg guards from Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega, items that would surely fetch a neat price online. The Golden Lovers were able to take their items back thanks to Gota Ihashi, who scored a big win and possibly discovered a suitable finisher in the form of the Frog Splash. Honda’s kleptomania flared up again after the match when he stole a briefcase from Tsurumi Amon. The briefcase contains something valuable that Amon was going to reveal to the DDT fans on 23/12. Honda then said he will sell the briefcase on Yahoo Auctions without knowing what is inside it.

Sanshiro Takagi then appeared to call Honda a thief. As punishment for his actions, the Monster Army would have to face Takagi plus a special tag team on 23/12. A video message then came up on the screen. It was Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima! They heard about Honda’s thievery and wanted to stop him. Tenzan’s message to Honda was “You’re under arrest, idiot!” and Kojima referred to themselves as the COZY Heaven Police Force. So it will be Sanshiro Takagi and TenKoji versus the Monster Army on 23/12!

For getting the pinfall on Match #3, DJ Nira earned the most valuable of prizes DDT can offer… an automatic Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title shot. Speaking of that belt, current champion Yoshiaki Fujiwara will return to DDT on 3rd January next year.

From what I have seen from translations and pictures posted online, the Castle Siege Death Match was sort of like a pro wrestling remake of DOTA/League Of Legends style video games. The Takagi Army and Team Drift each had a castle of stacked chairs to defend, one on the north stage of Korakuen Hall and one on the southside. There were also two smaller “towers” of stacked chairs inside the ring. Takagi hired a garrison of 15 people to defend his castle. Team Drift only hired one person, Toru Owashi! In a battle that saw a lot of chairs collapse, Team Drift were victorious in the end. Shigehiro Irie is said to have hurt his neck during the match. The injury happened when Irie gave Takagi the Vertical Drop Back Flip over on the north stage.

The next Hard Hit show has been announced to take place on 24th February in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. The show will have a youth theme to it.

5. Big Japan Vs KAIENTAI-DOJO: Shinya Ishikawa & Shinobu Vs Taishi Takizawa & Yuki Sato
6. Big Japan Vs DDT: Kazuki Hashimoto Vs Takao Soma

A partial card for the 2012 New Year’s Eve supershow has been revealed. Shiori Asahi, Atsushi Ohashi, Hiroshi Fukuda and Kaji Tomato got together today to announce that this year’s event will be based around a three way tournament between Big Japan, DDT and KAIENTAI-DOJO. There will be a point system in place but how many points will be on the line for each match is so far unknown. Inspired by the Olympics held earlier in the summer, there will also be non-wrestling contests taking place throughout the show.

Osamu Nishimura’s opponent will be decided by a Samurai TV! survey. The survey will determine whether or not Atsushi Ohashi or Hiroshi Fukuda will be a suitable opponent for Nishimura. Ohashi said he should get the match because he is the “Bridge Ace” of Big Japan. Fukuda said he should get the match because the Union Non-Certified US Heavyweight Champion is the perfect opponent for a man who is a “legitimate successor” of the AWA and NWA style of wrestling.

So far the only woman signed up for the Cinderella Championship match is Emi Sakura. The title has been hyped up to be more important than any of the championships from the three promotions. However, they haven’t been able to find any suitable wrestlers to compete against Sakura. Shiori Asahi said he is taking applications from the public for potential challengers.

6. DDT Extreme Title – Lumberjack Death Match: Keisuke Ishii defeated Shuji Ishikawa (c) with the Kneel Kick (19:55).
*Shuji Ishikawa fails in V2. Keisuke Ishii becomes the 20th DDT Extreme Champion!

Shin-Kiba 1st RING was filled with boos after the main event of Union’s 7th Anniversary show. The Union faithful saw their ace dethroned by the man leading the next generation of DDT wrestling. Keisuke Ishii is now the DDT Extreme Champion but it did not come easy. Ishii had to defeat Shuji Ishikawa in a Lumberjack Death Match and even then it required some help from his Drift allies. The lumberjacks were Isami Kodaka, Ken Ohka, Shigehiro Irie and Takao Soma. Irie threw his weight around outside the ring while Soma stopped a certain 3 count late into the match when Ishikawa pinned Ishii with the Splash Mountain. Ohka also got involved but he became a hindrance when he charged towards Ishii but ended up Spearing Ishikawa by accident. Ishii then had to hit Ishikawa with four consecutive Kneel Kicks before the champ was finally out for the count. Ishii received boos from the crowd and he responded by saying he did not come over from DDT to be booed. He also said he was glad to win the match and he was glad to be their champion. The crowd booed him again.

Ohka apologised to Shuji for costing him the championship. Naomi Susan commiserated Ishikawa for the loss. She also introduced Poison Sawada for his final appearance in Union. Sawada told Ishikawa that losing made himself stronger and the same will happen to Shuji. He then thanked everyone in Union for keeping the brand live and healthy.

However, disaster struck. Sawada began to shudder and gasp for air. His mind flashed back to his Legendary Viper Death Match with Mr. Gannosuke that took place almost six years ago. The poison from a snakebite he suffered during that match had finally caught up with him. With time running out, Sawada demanded his customary 10 bell retirement salute to begin immediately. When the salute was over, Sawada collapsed in the ring. Naomi checked his pulse but it was too late. Posion Sawada was dead. The rest of the roster promised to fight for Union in memory of Sawada. They also all agreed that they do not want to die. The show ended with everyone shouting a new rallying cry: “3…2…1… I do not want to die!”

Isami Kodaka Vs Shigehiro Irie was said to have been the match of the night by Extreme Party.

The highlight of the 3 Way Match was El Generico and Jun Kasai fighting each other over an umbrella Kasai stole from a fan. Kasai refused a handshake from Generico after the match.

Union Gets Lumberjacks And That’s OK

November 21, 2012

UNION “7TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW”, 23/11/2012
