Cracks are starting to grow within Shuten-dōji over the Sumo Hall main event. KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi lost to Team Dream Futures cleanly when Shigehiro Irie held Sakaguchi in place for Keisuke Ishii’s Kneel Kick. Irie then followed up with the Arm Trap Piledriver for the pinfall. KUDO left ringside on his own leaving Sakaguchi confused. Masa Takanashi is now trying to play peacekeeper by going back and forth between the two. Shuten-dōji and Team Dream Futures will clash again next week for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles.

strongbj-stormriders

Two of the Golden☆Storm Riders are getting a KO-D Tag Team Title shot. Kota Ibushi & Daisuke Sasaki left nothing to chance when they fought Konosuke Takeshita & Antonio Honda. They attacked Happy Motels during their entrance and placed them in trolleys around ringside. Sasaki pinned Takeshita with his flash Hurricanrana to earn the No. 1 Contendership for his team. The champions Strong BJ were in attendance and confronted their challengers after the match. Daisuke Sekimoto told Ibushi he was ready for him. Yuji Okabayashi said he was ready for a great struggle between two wrestlers born in 1982 (himself and Ibushi). Ibushi said it will be a good match and he has a strong partner. Sasaki called himself and Ibushi the strongest tag team on the planet.

treasurehunt-bullrope

The DDT Extreme Title was on the line in a Treasure Hunt Bull Rope match. Akito and Masa Takanashi were attached to each other with a rope while the title belt was placed in one of four bags. After every fall the winner chose a bag, if it contained the belt then the match would end. However the other bags were filled with dummy belts with extra rules written on them that had to be applied for the rest of the match. Akito used the ropes to great effect and won the first fall with a modified Scorpion Deathlock. However the bag he picked contained the rule that made grappling illegal. Akito was unable to use his submission hold but was able to pin Takanashi to win the second fall. This time the bag he found contained the Tequila Drink rules. Both wrestlers had to drink tequila after every kickout. Takanashi was delighted. After a few shots Akito again used the rope to his advantage by hooking it over the top ring rope and holding himself down as countered a Sunset Flip into a pin. Third time was the charm and Akito picked the bag with the real belt to win! A dizzy Akito pleaded for the drinks of tequila to stop.

5. Enjo-gun Presents Special Handicap Match: Ken Ohka defeated Shibata & Mitomi Masayuki when Ohka pinned Masayuki with the Spear Of Flame (16:36).

Shibata’s promise of fighting fair and square in the main event went out the window when he attacked Ken Ohka with a stick. However Shibata was attacked by his partner Mitomi Masayuki for cheating. With Shibata out of the way Masayuki and Ohka continued to fight without resorting to dirty tactics. Ohka pinned Masayuki with the Spear Of Flame but Shibata refused to recognise that as Ohka beating Enjo-gun. Shibata challenged Ohka to a singles match and left ringside.

Masayuki admitted that although he wanted to crush Ganbare☆Wrestling he gained respect for Ohka when he saw him win the KO-D Openweight Title. He is now inspired by Ohka’s growth from lowly wrestler to champion and hopes he himself can achieve the same. Masayuki pleaded with Ohka for a match and it was accepted for 27th July.

Although Minoru Fujita been welcomed into Ganpuro he his starting to cause some problems. After going through a lot of effort travelling to the show, Fujita wasn’t satisfied with just beating Yumehito Imanari. He challenged Tiger Bedscene to a match and quickly beat him too. Fujita criticised the Ganpuro talent for not advancing after two and a half years. He then called out Ohka but got a confrontation with Chikara instead.

Tensions were heated between Shinichiro Tominaga and GENTARO. The two had to be seperated after their tag match. A singles match between the two was booked for 27th July.

Mr. No made quick work of Survival Tobita in Tobita’s first Ganpuro match in over a year. Tobita thinks Mr. No has a weakness and he will soon find out what it is.

The two teams in the opener continued fighting after the match until Ohka seperated them. In order to make peace Ohka asked if the four had anything in common. They admitted to either liking Star Wars, AKB48, Love Live!, Invasion of Astro-Monster and Morning Musume. Ohka called them all nerds but at least they were now getting along.

4 Way Tag Team Match: HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano defeated Sanshiro Takagi & Kazuki Hirata, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao and Konosuke Takeshita & Hiroshi Fukuda when HARASHIMA pinned Hirata with the Somato (37:15).

takagi-takeshita-stroll

A rainy morning in Shizuoka couldn’t dampen the plans DDT had today. Their latest Street Wrestling match took place inside Izu Oceanic Park, a fitting location for the summer. All eight wrestlers came prepared but not all for wrestling. Shigehiro Irie wore a life jacket and brought an inflatable swimming ring for the beach. Some of the others brought along water guns. Yukinori Matsui had a GoPro strapped to his chest to record the action wherever it went even underwater.

surfboard-by-the-sea

When the match began inside the area designated to be the “ring” Sanshiro Takagi and Konosuke Takeshita immediately decided to direct the fighting away from it. They all fought along the beach which was the perfect location for HARASHIMA to put Kazuki Hirata into the Surfboard submission hold. Takagi slipped in between them for a sneaky pin but only got a two count. Amon Tsurumi somehow got in the mix and had his glasses knocked into the sea.

Everyone went away from the sea over to the rocks. HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano found a large log and placed it on top of Hirata to pin him against the rocks. Nearby there was a pool with a waterslide. HARASHIMA used it to slide down and kick Hiroshi Fukuda in the water. All of a sudden Takagi summoned a man in a gold diving suit calling himself Poseidon to attack HARASHIMA. The plan backfired and afterwards HARASHIMA focused his attention on Takeshita. The two swapped Cobra Twists on top of a boulder and then a Suplex sent both of them into the water below.

Takagi went to Plan B and sprayed everyone with a hose. At this point Amon’s glasses were finally found and he made his way to another swimming pool. Takagi had now brought in fireworks but Takeshita fought back with a water gun. All of a sudden Hirata convinced everyone to stop fighting and instead have a swimming race in the pool. Everyone lined up in their lanes and Amon gave them the signal to go. Hirata won the race but his victory interview was cut short when Soma Takao kicked him back into the pool. HARASHIMA pushed Takao into the pool but Irie then charged in and tackled HARASHIMA off the ledge. Takeshita and Yasu Urano fought back and forth but Takeshita got the upper hand and German Suplexed Urano into the water!

dramatic-dream-splash

If that wasn’t enough Takagi returned with the Dramatic Dream combat bicycle! He charged towards the pool aiming to launch the bike into his opponents. He instead just dropped right into the water. Hirata got on an inflatable boat and was ready to dance for everyone. HARASHIMA put a stop to that by running off the platform and hitting Hirata with the Somato. HARASHIMA then pinned Hirata in the water.

Everyone celebrated their second successful street wrestling match inside an Izu Park this year, the first one taking place at Izu Granpal Park back in April. Takagi wondered if a third match should happen. That’s when he found out there is a Izu Cactus Park! A nervous HARASHIMA reminded Takagi that thorns are dangerous.

3. GENTARO defeated Dai Suzuki with a Back Drop (9:10).

5. Kengo Mashimo defeated Ryota Nakatsu with the Mudo (12:34).
6. Kazusada Higuchi defeated Kota Umeda with the Goten (19:34).

Two days after his 20th birthday Kota Umeda got to fight in his second DNA main event in a row. However he faced Kazusada Higuchi who was looking to recover from his recent King Of DDT setback. Higuchi got the victory but praised the youngster for his effort. Higuchi then challenged Shunma Katsumata to a match at “DNA 8”. They were originally supposed to face each other at “DNA 5” in May but the match was called off when Higuchi suffered an injury.

Ryota Nakatsu got to experience the power of Kengo Mashimo’s kicks first hand. When asked to compare Mashimo with Higuchi, Nakatsu said Higuchi’s power comes from brute strength while Mashimo’s power comes from his lower body.

Suguru Miyatake said in an interview that his match with Gabaiji-chan brought back bad memories of his own grandfather. Mostly the time his grandfather had an affair with an aunt or something like that.
