1. Rumble Match: Yoshihiko defeated Makoto Oishi and Tomomitsu Matsunaga with the Double Reincarnation (18:40).
Order Of Elimination: Shunma Katsumata, Kazusada Higuchi, Keisuke Ishii, Soma Takao, Kazuki Hirata, Toru Owashi, Sanshiro Takagi, Makoto Oishi & Tomomitsu Matsunaga.
2. Customer System Match: Danshoku Dino defeated Hiroshi Fukuda with the Danshoku Dino (11:39).
3. Tokyo Joshi Pro Offer Match: Ai Shimizu & KANNA defeated Miyu Yamashita & Yuka Sakazaki when Shimizu pinned Sakazaki with the Triebflügel (4:59).
4. Konosuke Takeshita & Kota Umeda defeated Super Sasadango Machine & Suguru Miyatake when Takeshita pinned Miyatake with the German Suplex (6:14).
5. HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano defeated KUDO & Masa Takanshi when HARASHIMA pinned Takanashi with the Somato (10:53).

The show began at 5am over in Japan as part of an all day live stream on Niconico. No tickets were available so the entire wrestling show took place in an empty Korakuen Hall. The Niconico “Bullet Hell” style chat appeared on the screen for the wrestlers to see and interact with.

Even without an audience Super Sasadango Machine held a PowerPoint presentation to figure out how to beat two 20 year old wrestlers early in the morning.

Danshoku Dino and Hiroshi Fukuda could only use certain moves depending on viewer donations. By spending Nico Points, viewers could purchase single use moves for the wrestlers to do. For example Dino could only do the Danshoku Driver if somebody in the chat purchased the move for 300 points. For some reason Fukuda’s Perfect Plex was priced at 99,999 points. Late in the match the price was cut down to just 30 points but nobody bought it. Fukuda did the move anyway but Dino kicked out at 1 and then beat Fukuda with the Lip Lock and Danshoku Driver.

Yoshihiko was given a DWANGO internet gift package for winning the Rumble match.

At the end of the show Kazuki Hirata entered the ring wanting to dance but the stream cut off as he was getting ready.

4. Scramble Bunkhouse Death Match: FUMA, MEN’S Teioh & SAGAT defeated Shuji Ishikawa, Yusuke Kubo & Daichi Kazato when FUMA pinned Kazato with the Diving Headbutt (26:20).
5. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated Madoka with the Isamuashi Zan (22:14).
*V3 for Isami Kodaka.

The main event is said to be an exciting match between two wrestlers who have a lot of history together. Madoka even tried the Shooting Star Press which he has not used in years. After Isami Kodaka won the match he talked about himself and Madoka wrestling in K-DOJO together. Madoka was only 17 when he debuted there while Kodaka was 20. The two shook hands but FUMA then showed up to confront Kodaka. FUMA said the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title has a great history but he should be main eventing shows because he is the Union MAX Champion. Kodaka challenged FUMA to a match on 30th August, Title Vs Title!

The Scramble Bunkhouse Death Match was as chaotic as expected. A barbed wire baseball bat was placed in the middle of the ring and both teams raced towards it from opposite ends of the room when the match began. Chairs and a steel chain were also brought into play. Daichi Kazato went hardcore by putting SAGAT through a table. But FUMA took him out wit a Brainbuster onto the pile of chairs followed by a PK with the barbed wire bat placed in front of Kazato. FUMA then hit the Diving Headbutt to finish him off.

Mio Shirai thanked HAYATA for teaming with her and said he was like a brother or step-brother to her. She complimented him for using her Tsuchigumo finisher to win the match and permitted him to continue using it. The move is a gift from her.

Almost everyone in the opener was dressed in appropriate clothing for the challenge between Karate, Judo and bodybuilding. Kazuhiko Ogasawara wore his karate gi as usual, Hiroshi Fukuda & Ayumu Honda were both wearing judogi and Seiya Morohashi & Macho Michaels both wrestled in skimpy bodybuilding tights. Only Ryu Gouma showed up wearing his normal suit. Gouma gave a closing argument that it was time for him to defend Japan from the dangerous threats of judo and bodybuilding. Unfortunately for him Judo won the day when Ayumu tapped out Gouma.

1. 1 Vs 2 Handicap Match: Miyu Yamashita defeated Hyper Misao & MIZUHO when Yamashita pinned Misao with the Crash Rabbit Heat (9:10).
2. Saki Akai & KANNA defeated Yuka Sakazaki & Rika Tatsumi when KANNA pinned Tatsumi with the Spear Of Versailles (11:28).
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Akane Miura defeated Ai Shimizu with a LAriat (7:24).
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1: Shoko Nakajima defeated Nonoko with the Northern Lights Suplex (8:43).

The Tokyo Princess Cup continued with the remaining first round matches. Akane Miura defeated Ai Shimizu, eliminating one of the two Biishiki-gun wrestlers from the tournament. Shoko Nakajima scored a big upset by eliminating last year’s winner Nonoko in the main event. The semi-final draw took place at the end of the show. The matches taking place on 8th August are Miyu Yamashita Vs Akane Miura and KANNA Vs Shoko Nakajima.

Rika Tatsumi (formerly Ririko Kendo) returned from injury and had her first match in over 14 months. However her teamwork with Yuka Sakazaki did not work out as planned. She gave Sakazaki a Facebuster from the top rope with the intention of slamming her into KANNA but KANNA rolled out of the way. Saki Akai took out Sakazaki at ringside with a Running PK from the apron while KANNA picked up the win with the Spear Of Versailles on Tatsumi. In the post-match interview Tatsumi said the match was fun and she was happy her return ended safely. She admitted her fear of getting injured again may have effected her performance.

Five months into their wrestling careers, Hyper Misao & MIZUHO teamed up again for the first time since their débuts. The newly named Hero & Sexy team wanted to defeat Miyu Yamashita in a handicap match. Doing so would make them the double aces of Tokyo Joshi according to Misao. At one point they put Yamashita in a lewd position with Misao applying a Wheelbarrow Stretch and forcing Yamashita into a Stinkface from MIZUHO. However a backfired Lariat allowed Yamashita to turn the tables and pin Misao.

Naomi Susan To Resign As Union Manager

July 17, 2015

susan-resigns

Naomi Susan yesterday announced she will resign from her role as “Union Representative” on 4th October after Union holds its 10th Anniversary show at Korakuen Hall. Susan has been managing the brand since 2007 and said her decision is for personal reasons. During her time in charge she saw Union grow as well as its wrestlers bond together. However she feels her help in running the brand is no longer necessary and there is not much else she can learn or experience in her current position. Since she is not a wrestler she does not think “retirement” is the right word to describe her departure. There is currently no decision for her replacement. By announcing this now it gives Union time to prepare for the future.

Susan first considered leaving a year ago and consulted with Isami Kodaka, Shuji Ishikawa and Cherry as time went by. All three were surprised when they were first told of her decision. Kodaka said Susan has been a part of the company for so long that she could be seen as the Mother Of Union. He is happy to see Susan will leave with a smile. Cherry said she will feel lonely because she spent so much time with Susan away from the shows. She and everyone else in Union will cheer for Susan when she leaves. Ishikawa described Susan as an older sister who always supported him even when he was selfish. He will return the favour.

During her time in pro wrestling, Naomi Susan has been a valet for Poison Sawada JULIE and worked behind the scenes booking foreign wrestlers for both Union and DDT, including getting Bob Sapp to work with DDT in 2011. She is also a two time Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion.

Hiroshi Fukuda interfered and Clotheslined both Brahmans while the fans chanted “USA!”. The Brahmans later brought in buckets of noodles to turn the tables. 8. Road To RYOGOKU Special Tag Match: KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano when KUDO pinned Urano with the Diving Double Knee Drop (15:23).
9. Road To DAIICHI Special Tag Match: Akito & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Shigehiro Irie & Kazusada Higuchi when Takeshita pinned Higuchi with the German Suplex (28:29).

Konosuke Takeshita won in impressive fashion by German Suplexing Kazusada Higuchi in the main event. Higuchi had Takeshita in the Canadian Backbreaker but Akito cut him off with a Dropkick. Takeshita cut down Higuchi with a Lariat before deadlifting him into the German Suplex.

The situation between Shuten-dōji seems to be improving a little bit. KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi shared a drink when they defeated Smile Squash in the semi-main event.

Kota Ibushi got to experience what it is like in Kuishinbo Kamen and Kikutaro’s world. He beat the both of them immediately and all three congratulated each other until an unsatisfied Yukinori Matsui told them to restart the match. At one point Ibushi noticed someone was standing behind him and thinking it was one of his opponents he did a low blow mule kick. The person turned out to be Matsui. Kikutaro removed his mask and threw it to Ibushi, claiming that he was illegally unmasked. Matsui said he didn’t notice anything different about Kikutaro and allowed the match to continue. Ibushi put on Kikutaro’s mask and did some of Kikutaro’s comedy spots with Kamen. He then knocked out both Kamen and Kikutaro with punches and pinned them with a Diving Body Press from the top rope.

Super Sasadango Machine held another PowerPoint presentation for his match with Atsushi Maruyama. Sasadango figured out the three elements that make up his opponent. Maruyama is fierce like a wild tiger, drinks one litre of vinegar a day to stay healthy and wears a mask on weekdays. Sasadango wondered if Maruyama was Tigers Mask. He then brought out the IMGP World Title. The International Muscle Grand Prix was the governing body that promoted the old MUSCLE brand and Tigers Mask was the last champion before the title disappeared. Sasadango then announced he and Maruyama will fight over the vacated championship. Sasadango’s plan was to make Maruyama cry, use a diaper to absorb his tears and then wear the diaper to make himself heavier and in the process boost the power of the Vertical Drop Lehmann Shock. When the match began both men were quickly gassed. They decided to fight outside the ring Big Japan style to cover up their lack of fitness. As they did so they noticed a woman in the first row and discovered it was Shigehiro Irie’s mother. She gave a heartfelt message of support for her son which made Maruyama cry. Irie came out and said his mother was the most important woman in the world to him. He talked about the first time she brought him to Delfin Arena to watch wrestling and they hugged. Now Sasadango was crying. Maruyama took advantage and kicked Sasadango in the head to win the IMGP Title.

6. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie & Soma Takao (c) defeated KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masa Takanashi when Irie pinned Sakaguchi with the Elbow Bat (14:53).
*V3 for Team Dream Futures.

The strained relationship between KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi is getting worse. Sakaguchi was pinned by Shigehiro Irie in the main event, costing Shuten-dōji their chance to reclaim the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. KUDO was pissed that his Sumo Hall opponent lost the match because it makes both of them look weak. Masa Takanashi tried to calm them down but KUDO left the ring on his own. Sakaguchi took the blame and requested to be taken off the Sumo Hall main event, citing that he does not feeld qualified to be in the KO-D Openweight Title match. He bowed to Amon Tsurumi as an apology. Irie suddenly jumped back into the ring and also bowed. Tsurumi decided that Sakaguchi and Irie will have a match at the next Korakuen Hall show to prove who deserves to main event Sumo Hall.

Kota Umeda was hoping to show off all the hard work he has been doing in DNA. Unfortunately he was put in the ring with Danshoku Dino who was in a pretty horny mood. After Dino won the match he tried to get his hands on Umeda as well as the other DNA wrestlers Shunma Katsumata and Ryota Nakatsu.

There was an in-ring debate to determine the No. 1 Contender for the DDT Extreme Title. The debate was between Hiroshi Fukuda, Kazuki Hirata, Antonio Honda, Gota Ihashi, Makoto Oishi and Yasu Urano with Amon Tsurumi and the champion Akito overlooking everything. Ihashi was not supposed to be involved in the debate but he explained he would put the King Of Dark Title on the line to make it a dark match double championship bout if he became the No. 1 Contender. Ihashi wanted to challenge Akito to a Better Dish Death Match. He would win because he cooks better meals. Nobody liked the idea and Ihashi was thrown out of the ring. Tsurumi then started yelling at Urano, blaming him for Ken Ohka breifly winning the KO-D Title two weeks ago. Tsurumi was so mad that he took off his afro and threw it out of the ring! Urano apologised but it was too late, he’s going to get a King of Dark Title match instead! That’s not all, Ihashi only needs to pin Urano for one second to win the match!

Urano was taken out of the ring by some DNA wrestlers and the debate continued. Fukuda said he wants to be the first American to win the Extreme Title. He wants to fight Akito in a Showa Kayo Death Match. Hirata said it should be him and Akito in a TOKYO Dancing Death Match. Honda talked about the impressive line of defences Akito has been through and said he wants the title match so he can fight the best DDT has to offer. Finally Oishi suggested an Idol Lumberjack match. Akito picked Honda as his next challenger. Their match will have no ring ropes and can end by Ring Out.

Kota Ibushi got to try on the HIRATA GO! glasses in Match #2. Hirata and Suguru Miyatake both wore a pair during the final moments of the match and somehow pinned each other to end it in a draw.

Fukuda tried to get on HARASHIMA’s good side before their match by asking who his favourite singer is. HARASHIMA said Yūzō Kayama. Later on Fukuda started singing one of Kayama’s songs “The Sea, Its Love”. HARASHIMA and Antonio Honda both joined in. Fukuda & Honda’s attempt to sneak attack HARASHIMA during the song backfired and HARASHIMA hit the Somato on Fukuda to win.

An angry Gota Ihashi emerged after the dark match and challenged Kouki Iwasaki to an immediate King Of Dark Title bout. Ihashi went on the offensive from the start but missed a Moonsault. Iwasaki capitalised and pinned Ihashi with La Magistral Cradle to avoid “winning” the title.

He calls Gouma an idiot who people laugh at but if he learns Karate he could beat people that are 7 and even 8 feet tall! The letter ends with Ogasawara saying the time has come for Karate-gun’s revival! Karate-gun was Union’s first enemy faction when the brand was re-established in 2005. The infamous feud featured Ogasawara fighting Poison Sawada in a Scorpion Death Match and later a Toxic Barbed Wired Board Death Match. I don’t think the same will happen here with Gouma.
