The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title tour of America moved to Des Moines, Iowa last night where Joey Ryan defended the title against Colt Cabana and Chuck Taylor for F1RST Wrestling. Chuck Taylor won the match to become the new champion but then Scott Hall showed up! Taylor got knocked out then Hall beat Ryan in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who should pin Taylor. 2016 wrestling is weird.

4h. Shinichiro Tominaga eliminated Hi69 with a Cradle (26:16).
*Rubbish Heap★Wrestling is prohibited from using “BAD COMMUNICATION – ULTRA Pleasure Style” as a theme song. Hi69 is expelled from Ganbare☆Wrestling.

A high stakes main event was the big story surrounding this show. Tomodachi-gun was in charge and Minoru Fujita used his power to make Ken Ohka wrestle twice, first in the opener and then in the main event. All members of the losing team in the main event would be prohibited from using “BAD COMMUNICATION” as their theme song. Also the last wrestler eliminated would be banished from Ganbare☆Wrestling. Shota was the first elimination. Fujita attacked Ohka with a chair until Daisuke Kiso stopped him. Fujita then gave Ohka a Tombstone and Kiso counted a fast 3 count. He then took off his shirt to reveal a Fujita shirt underneath! Bambi was furious at what she saw and turned on Tomodachi-gun. Fujita gave Bambi the Tombstone and threw her out of the ring. Tomodachi-gun then began to fall apart when Madoka accidentally struck Yukihiro Abe resulting in Abe getting pinned. Madoka was then eliminated at the same time as Yumehito Imanari when Fujita Dropkicked both of them off the apron. Ai Shimizu was the next elimination which meant Shinichiro Tominaga was the last Ganpuro wrestler remaining. Against all odds he was able to knock Fujita over the top rope and then counter a Cross Facelock from Hi69 into a Cradle to win the match! Hi69 is now banished from Ganpuro!

Tominaga praised Hi69 as he left ringside. Madoka then argued with Fujita over Fujita eliminating him. Fujita said it wasn’t a betrayal but a sacrifice to help win the match. Madoka pointed out that they still lost and decided to quit Tomodachi-gun! With both Bambi and Madoka gone Fujita went over to Abe to find some comfort. He told Abe that Tomodachi-gun will have to disband but they will have a singles match together next month as part of Abe’s graduation from the group. Abe bowed to Fujita and offered a handshake. He then hit Fujita in the gut and DDT’d him! Defeated and alone in the ring, Fujita asked to speak with Ohka. He talked about his fights with Ohka over the last year and how no matter the situation he put in front of him, Ohka always worked hard. Fujita asked if he was a fool all this time? Ohka gave an emotional response and tearfully told Fujita they can fix their friendship. They can fix it by having a wrestling match on 30th July.

Even with some dirty help from Mitomi Masayuki, Shibata was easily defeated by the Mars Spector. When Shibata knocked over the referee, Masayuki came in and Low Blowed Spector. The mysterious wrestler recovered and got rid of Masayuki with Middle Kicks. He then pounded on Shibata before tapping him out.

Unable to wrestle, Shuichiro Katsumura appeared at the show walking on crutches. His role was to watch a tag match between a former American sumo wrestler, an evil doctor, a 4th generation monster whose father was put down by said evil doctor and an alien that threatened to destroy Earth in 3 minutes. The evil doctor turned out to be Takafumi Ito in disguise. He eventually got rid of the disguise and won the match. Ito then yelled at Katsumura to heal quickly so they can fight.

KAI was unable to appear because of a rib injury so Chikara needed a new opponent. Minoru Fujita made Ken Ohka wrestle him in a bid to tire Ohka out before the main event. Ohka quickly beat Chikara then said KAI Vs Chikara will happen in Ganpuro someday.

7. King Of DDT 2016 – Round 2: Shigehiro Irie defeated Kazusada Higuchi with a Tazzmission (15:50).

The King Of DDT final four has been determined. In the quarter final matches Shigehiro Irie surprised everyone by tapping out Kazusada Higuchi with a Tazzmission. This is a new move in Irie’s arsenal and to tap out Higuchi with it is quite an achievement. HARASHIMA did everyone a favour and knocked KENSO out of the tournament. Shuji Ishikawa cut short Soma Takao’s post-Drift winning streak. And last but not least Tetsuya Endo bested Kazuki Hirata who claimed his Hirata GO! glasses were at full power. A lottery was held at the end of the show to pick who would face who at the semi final. Ishikawa had to leave early so Daisuke Sasaki represented him by wearing a cardboard cutout of his face. The semi final matches are HARASHIMA Vs Endo and Ishikawa Vs Irie.

The All Asia Tag Team Title match was overshadowed by an embarrassing situation for DDT. All Japan entrusted the belts to DDT during the week but they were accidentally left behind in Nagano after Saturday’s show. The referee for the match Kyohei Wada was angry that such a thing could even happen. Both Sanshiro Takagi and Amon Tsurumi apologised and took the blame for the mismanagement of the belts. Despite the absence of the belts, the championship match between Yankee Two Kenju and Guname Express went ahead as planned. Yuko Miyamoto scored the pinfall and won a Right To Challenge Contract to go along with a successful title defence. When Miyamoto had the contract explained to him by Isami Kodaka, he asked when the next KO-D Openweight Title match was supposed to take place. He was told the 3rd July in Hakata Star Lane. Miyamoto declared he will cash in his title shot for 3rd July and will go one on one with Konosuke Takeshita! However he was warned that the match will not go ahead if he loses a match and his contract between now and then.

Dick Togo made his first appearance in DDT since announcing his intentions to come back from retirement. He explained that for the last year his desire to wrestle again became louder and louder everyday. It became so big that he can no longer take it. He has only one life and he wants to live it by being honest with himself. So he decided now is the time for his return to the ring. He announced his first match back in DDT will be on 3rd July and he is also booked for several other dates throughout the summer including “PETER PAN 2016” at Sumo Hall on 28th August. His return match is a tag bout between himself & Antonio Honda Vs Yasu Urano & Guanchulo. Togo said DDT has changed dramatically since he was gone. He looks forward to hitting the new wrestlers who have come during his absence. He looks forward to hitting his disciples again. He even looks forward to hitting whatever unknown wrestlers he might get put in the ring with.

Another Right To Challenge Contract changed hands in the dark match. Guanchulo lost his contract to Mizuki Watase.

2. FUMA (5)

4. Daichi Kazato (4)
5. Ryu Gouma (0)

The group stage of Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ are now over and there are two clear block winners. Isami Kodaka and Hiroshi Fukuda will face each other in the final on 23rd June. Kodaka beat Ryota Nakatsu and Fukuda beat FUMA, both matches determined who would have won the blocks. Ryuichi Sekine was also in the running but he suffered an upset defeat to Yusuke Kubo.

Masamune called Kodaka into the ring after Match #3. He asked Kodaka if he was available on 14th August? Masamune will be running a show in Osaka that day and he wants to team with Kodaka to take on Billiken Kid & HUB! With the audience supporting the idea, Kodaka accepted.

Takumi Tsukamoto and SAGAT seem to have bonded after their hardcore match. After the bout Tsukamoto asked SAGAT to say his real feelings instead of having Hiroshi Fukuda speak on his behalf. SAGAT just screamed and grunted into the microphone. Tsukamoto said that was nothing to worry about and shook SAGAT’s hand after. SAGAT was a lot calmer in his post-match interview. He said that while he is still with Fukuda under the team name Hiroshi du Soleil, he is open to change and a possible team with Tsukamoto in the future.

Atsushi Maruyama arrived late to the show, appearing at ringside when it began. He and Ryu Gouma did their in-ring warm ups during the show introductions. Gouma wanted revenge on Koji Iwamoto for damaging his statute book on last Friday’s show. Gouma tried to use his book as a weapon but Kyohei Wada blocked him. That allowed Iwamoto to hit the Aloof Art and get the win for his team.

Today’s show was in Toru Owashi’s home prefecture of Nagano. He was in charge of the show and wanted his match to be fought under Lucha Libre Rules. Danshoku Dino accepted but only on the condition that if his team wins then Nagano will be recognised as a Gay Town from now on. Dino’s team won when Kazusada Higuchi put on his own pair of Higuchi GO! glasses to combat Kazuki Hirata. Higuchi came out the victor and used the Doctor Bomb to pin Hirata. Higuchi was given 100 servings of baked goods for winning the match. Afterwards Sanshiro Takagi announced that DDT will hold a show in Owashi’s hometown of Saku City on 3rd November. Takagi has already invited Owashi’s mother to the show.

Owashi wasn’t the only Nagano local to wrestle on the show. Mizuki Watase was given 100 servings of buckwheat as a gift for his homecoming. Although he lost to HARASHIMA he was cheered by the fans after the match.

Hiroshi Fukuda sang “A Whole New World” to Shigehiro Irie to distract him and get on his good side. Fukuda then attacked Irie and held him back while Tetsuya Endo pinned Kouki Iwasaki. Endo said in an interview he is charging ahead to his King Of DDT match with Kazuki Hirata.

Soma Takao realises the big task ahead of him. He faces Shuji Ishikawa in the next King Of DDT round tomorrow. However he thinks he can surprise everyone and beat Ishikawa.

-. Takumi Tsukamoto (5)
3. Daichi Kazato (4)

After the main event Isami Kodaka gestured to Daisuke Sekimoto that he wants one more match. Kodaka said he lost to HARASHIMA in DDT and he lost to Sekimoto in Big Japan. It frustrates him but he has BASARA to fight for. He said it is a place for guys like Hi69 to step up. He will continue to fight for now and beyond. He thanked the fans for cheering for him. Oh, and also for cheering Hi69.

There was no love lost between Takumi Tsukamoto and FUMA. Both of them lost their cool and could not be separated. Kyohei Wada couldn’t regain control of the match and disqualified both of them. They were finally kept apart by the other wrestlers at ringside. The match counts as a draw so both of them received a point. However Tsukamoto cannot qualify for the final. That goes to the winner of FUMA Vs Hiroshi Fukuda on Sunday.

In the match between Hiroshi Fukuda and Daichi Kazato, Fukuda kept offering to shake Kazato’s hand. Whenever Kazato reached out to accept it Fukuda lifted his own arm into the air and yelled “Hooooooo!”. Even when Fukuda beat him to keep him out of the final, Kazato saw the funny side and smiled.

Ryu Gouma brought in two “beleaguered foreigners” to help him fight Cavalry. The foreigners turned out to be Heddi French and Choun-Shiryu, making this Shiryu’s BASARA debut. Gouma wanted to help solve his partner’s problems. Cavlry protested Shiryu’s entry into the match and he reminded them he is Chinese. Gouma said the unjust discrimination shown by Cavalry should be solved with legal fighting and the match began. French admitted learning Japanese is difficult. Gouma encouraged him because he was able to say that in Japanese. During the match everyone in Cavalry decided to share their problems with Gouma. Ryota Nakatsu was worried that no one in the audience will go to the Drop Kick Bar after the show. Gouma told him at least two people will. Ryuichi Sekine complained that his liver function is insanely high and he can’t donate blood because of it. Gouma said his problem might involve uric acid so he should take medicine for it. Koji Iwamoto didn’t want to tell anyone his problems. Sekine cut in and said he hates sweet peppers. The match broke down into a brawl and Iwamoto gave his finisher on Gouma onto his statute book to win the match for Cavalry.

In his final match for the Heaven Summit tournament, SAGAT finally grabbed a victory. He beat Yusuke Kubo to end his losing streak and was so happy he hugged the referee down onto the ring mat. With no more matches left in the tournament SAGAT is looking forward to the future. First up is a Hardcore Match against Takumi Tsukamoto this Sunday.

DDT “DNA 17”, 09/06/2016
Kitasenju Theatre 1010
123 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House

1. Yasu Urano defeated Nobuhiro Shimatani with the Tombstone Piledriver (12:01).
2. Eddie French defeated Rekka with a Modified STF (7:29).
3. KENSO defeated Rainbow Kawamura with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster (8:54).
4. Guanchulo defeated Kouki Iwasaki with the Seijo Scratch (10:06).
5. Daiki Shimomura Return Match: Shunma Katsumata defeated Daiki Shimomura with the Swan Dive X Factor (10:24).
6. Kazusada Higuchi & Kota Umeda defeated Mao Inoue & Mizuki Watase when Umeda pinned Watase with a Right High Kick (16:50).

The main event pitted two classes of DNA students against each other. Kazusada Higuchi & Kota Umeda were here from the start while Mao Inoue & Mizuki Watase debuted for DNA around 9 months later. Higuchi was amazed by the progress Inoue & Watase have made since then. Umeda switched his attention towards KENSO. In no friendly terms, Umeda called KENSO to come down to the ring. Higuchi calmed down the situation by suggesting Umeda and KENSO to have a match on 1st July. KENSO accepted and left the ring. Umeda swore a lot and said he has to beat KENSO next month.

After spending three months on the shelf with an injury, Daiki Shimomura had his comeback match with Shunma Katsumata. From the beginning he was in danger when Katsumata knocked him out of the ring and prepared to do a Quebrada. Shimomura grabbed Katsumata’s leg before he jumped and pulled him out of the ring. Katsumata was later able to hit the Quebrada and put Shimomura away with the Lightning Spiral followed by the Swan Dive X Factor.

KENSO didn’t think much of Rainbow Kawamura. He told Kawamura that his entrance was long and boring. During the match they both shouted “Dondake!” at each other after every move, which is some sort of slang way of saying “what the hell?”. KENSO took control and beat Kawamura with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster.

It was announced Big Japan and DDT will host a joint charity show in Kumamoto in aid of the reconstruction efforts after April’s earthquake. The show will be free to attend. Kumamoto’s own Kota Umeda will be wrestling on the show.
