1. Yuka Sakazaki & Hinano defeated Hikari & Raku when Sakazaki pinned Hikari with the Osaekomi Backslide (5:45).
2. Yuu defeated Miu with the Katahajime (4:44)
3. 3 Way Match: Shoko Nakajima defeated Nodoka-oneesan and Maki Ito when Nakajima pinned Ito with a Japanese Leg Clutch Roll (7:52).
4. Rika Tatsumi & Maho Kurone defeated Hyper Misao & Priscilla Kelly when Tatsumi pinned Misao with the Missile Hips (9:06).
5. Saki-sama & Azusa Christie defeated Mizuki & Yuki Kamifuku when Saki-sama submitted Kamifuku with the Versailles Foot Choke (9:29).
6. Miyu Yamashita defeated Marika Kobashi with a Modified Cobra Clutch (8:41).

Marika Kobashi begun the first of two big singles matches to prepare for her next TOKYO Princess Tag Team Titles challenge. Today she went up against Miyu Yamashita, entering to new music. Kobashi threw chops and elbows at the TOKYO Princess Champion and almost had her in trouble with a Swinging Bulldog. But Yamashita fired back with a High Kick, the Attitude Adjustment and then a modified Cobra Clutch that made Kobashi tap out. Yamashita told Kobashi afterwards that she is still in the process of evolving and advised her to focus on raising her mind rather than her just her physical power.

There were two things that Hyper Misao wanted to talk about today. First she feels there is a bond between her and Priscilla Kelly because they both had their debut wrestling match in Spring 2015. Because of this she felt it was her duty to teach Kelly how to formally greet your opponent before a wrestling match in Japan. They went to shake hands with the Dragon Bombers but Maho Kurone took a bite out of Kelly’s hand instead. Kelly got revenge later in the match by licking back at Kurone. The two shared a glance at each other at the end of the match.

Second, after they lost the match Misao had a special announcement to make. She told everyone about what her life was like before wrestling. She graduated from college but had no job and had nothing going for her. When her mother took her to a crafts festival she discovered DDT for the first time. DDT was at the festival presenting one of their Street Pro Wrestling matches. She had never watched pro wrestling before this and was inspired by the creativity of what she saw. From that point on she had a dream not just to be a wrestler but a hero. So her announcement is on 3rd May at Korakuen Hall she will take part in a Falls Count Anywhere match against an opponent to be determined. Sanshiro Takagi came out. Misao thought this meant Takagi was her opponent but that was impossible because Takagi had just been banished from DDT. Takagi said her opponent is someone else. It’s Jun Kasai! He came out and greeted Misao, telling her he heard that her life has been crazy in a good way ever since she saw that match. Misao said she will go into the match without fear!

Tokyo Joshi Pro and the entire Up Up Girls organisation will host a collaborative show in Shunjuku FACE on 27th June. Both the musical unit and wrestling unit of the Up Up Girls will perform at the show while Tokyo Joshi will provide wrestling matches. Maki Ito is upset that the show isn’t named after the Ito Respect Army.

1. BASARA’s 12.12.12: Takumi Tsukamoto defeated Akiyori Takizawa with a High Angle Backslide (6:37).
2. BASARA’s 12.12.12: FUMA defeated Takato Nakano with the JAWBREAKER (8:09).
3. BASARA’s 12.12.12: Yasu Urano defeated Yusuke Kubo with the Tombstone Piledriver (11:31).
4. Best Stretchman V3 & Best Stretchman Amazon defeated Hercules Senga & Gouma Ryu when V3 pinned Ryu after the Double Stretch Kick (7:06).
5. BASARA’s 12.12.12: Isami Kodaka Vs Manabu Hara ended in a Time Limit Draw (12:00).
6. BASARA’s 12.12.12: Tank Nagai defeated Ryuichi Sekine with the Diving Senton (10:20).
7. BASARA’s 12.12.12: SAGAT defeated Ryota Nakatsu with the Goregrind (10:42).

Every singles match on this show had a 12 minute time limit. SAGAT scored a big victory in the main event over Ryota Nakatsu. He avoided the V Slider and dropped Nakatsu with a Death Valley Bomb. With over a minute left to go, SAGAT hit the Goregrind and got the three count. When his celebration was done, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi entered the ring with a brand new look. This was his first appearance in BASARA since his travels to India so he could learn yoga. He reintroduced himself to the crowd and said that everyone in the Metal Family have been in suffering and they should learn yoga to free themselves. FUMA thought Hiroshi went to Indonesia and said they have a good heavy metal scene over there. Hiroshi began singing a hymn that put FUMA, SAGAT and Yusuke Kubo into a trance. He then told everyone he will return at Korakuen Hall on 3rd May.

Isami Kodaka Vs Manabu Hara was the only match using the 12.12.12 rules to end in a time limit draw. Hara said that is was difficult for him to find his rhythm because of the time limit. He usually finds it after 10 minutes but in this case having only two minutes remaining to go out and win threw him off.

Hercules Senga & Gouma Ryu fell apart as a team when they collided by accident. The Best Stretchman team then hit Ryu with a Double Stretch Kick to win. Senga refused to have another rematch with them. Instead he wants to take them to court with the ultimate goal of banishing them from BASARA! Ryu promised to defend the Stretchmen in the Pro Wrestling Trial.

Tomoya Kawamura made an appearance at the beginning of the show to talk about the end of his contract with BASARA. He explained what led to his decision to leave and admits he feels selfish over it. However he still intends to wrestle in the future and hopes that his path will bring him back to BASARA some day.

2. 1st Sanshiro Takagi DNA SUPER TAG TOURNAMENT – Semi-Final: Yuki Ueno & Koju Takeda defeated Kouki Iwasaki & Ryota Nakatsu when Ueno pinned Iwasaki with a School Boy (7:52).
3. Worldwide Match: Mike Bailey defeated Brian Aki with a Buzzsaw Kick (9:05).
4. I Met Him Here For 100 Years! Grudge Settlement! Chinese Mecancho Ultra Special Single Match: Choun-Shiryu defeated Rekka by Referee Stoppage with a Kangaroo Lock (9:42).
5. Minoru Tanaka, Mizuki Watase & Tomoya Hirata defeated Kota Umeda, Daiki Shimomura & Nobuhiro Shimatani when Watase pinned Shimatani with the Back Drop (12:48).
6. DNA Vs Naomi Kingdom: Keisuke Okuda defeated Shunma Katsumata by Referee Stoppage with the Sleeper Hold (10:15).
7. 1st Sanshiro Takagi DNA SUPER TAG TOURNAMENT – Final: Naomi Yoshimura & Akiro Jo defeated Yuki Ueno & Koju Takeda when Yoshimura pinned Ueno with the Throwaway Power Bomb (16:39).

The Naomi Kingdom duo of Naomi Yoshimura & Akiro Jo have swept through the tag tournament, first eliminating MAO & Rising HAYATO in the semi final. They then beat the young team of Yuki Ueno & Koju Takeda in the final. The winners were given a portrait of Sanshiro Takagi along with a 3,000 yen cash prize. Yoshimura was angered by getting such a pitiful prize and stomped on the portrait. He then threatened to crash the first episode of “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” taking place next week.

Ueno & Takeda beat Kouki Iwasaki & Ryota Nakatsu in the other semi final when Nakatsu accidentally hit Iwasaki with a High Kick meant for Ueno.

Shunma Katsumata thought his recent hardcore wrestling experience would prepare him for anything that Keisuke Okuda would throw at him. But it wasn’t. Okuda threw Katsumata around ringside including into the front row seats. Katsumata fought his way back but a Sleeper Hold took him out of the match. Katsumata would like a rematch but fears DNA will not give it to him.

Choun-Shiryu drank from a flask so he could use drunken kung fu against Rekka. It worked so well that Rekka took out his own flask so he could use drunk kung fu too. Shiryu trapped Rekka in a Kangaroo Lock, an elevated Double Arm Trapped Crab Hold. Rekka couldn’t tap out so the referee stopped the match and declared Shiryu the winner. Shiryu said backstage that history is written by the winners and for the last 4,000 years China is the winner. The history of China in DDT begins and ends with Choun-Shiryu!

Yuki Iino announced he will return to action for DNA in June. He only wrestled in two matches for DNA before his injury so he understands if nobody remembers what he is like in the ring. He wants to make up for lost time and show what he gained during his recovery time.

DDT uploaded several of their English recap shows from DDT Universe to their Youtube channel. These are complete shows with English commentary provided by wrestlers such as Diego, Colt Cabana and Mike Bailey as well as from DDT associates American Baloon and Mr. HAKU. The commentary provides backstory and explanations to what’s going on as well as other little facts of the wrestlers involved.

BASARA’s 12.12.12, Maji Manji Debut Card, Takeshita Prepares For Irie

April 3, 2018

I’m going on holiday for a week so there won’t be anymore updates until 13th April at the earliest. That means I’ll be late posting results for the next six shows. If anything major happens and I get word of it there will be tweets but other than that, it’s probably going to be a quiet week or two on this page.

The match ended in a 10 minute draw.

There is no stipulation picked yet for the DDT Extreme Title match.

Contract Updates: Cherry, Miyatake And Kawamura All Leaving DDT

April 3, 2018

It is the time of the year when several DDT contracts are about to run out. Three wrestlers will not be renewing their contracts this year. They are Cherry for DDT, Suguru Miyatake for DNA and Tomoya Kawamura for BASARA.

Cherry has chosen to leave DDT after spending 14 years associated with the company, both for DDT and Union Pro. At 43 years old she has taken up fortune telling and looked into her future. She came to the conclusion that it was time to move on to new challenges. Her final match as a DDT wrestler will be on 29th April and she will officially become a freelancer the next day. Cherry promises to become the strongest fortune teller in the pro wrestling world!

Suguru Miyatake’s career had been plagued by injuries, the worst of which required shoulder surgery in January 2016 that kept him away from the ring ever since. Miyatake couldn’t train enough to return to his original condition and a return is not possible for him both physically and mentally.

Tomoya Kawamura is another young wrestler who battled through injuries. Originally signed to Union Pro, Kawamura was too hurt to compete at Union’s final show. He reinvented himself as Rainbow Kawamura in DNA then moved on to BASARA only to get his career derailed by more injuries. His contract will end but he does not intend to retire from pro wrestling because he still hopes to recover.

5. 4 Way Tag Match: KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata, HARASHIMA & Soma Takao and Daisuke Sasaki & Shuji Ishikawa when Sakaguchi submitted Katsumata with an Arm Triangle Hold (11:06).
6. DDT Extreme Title – Ladder Match: Yuko Miyamoto (c) defeated Mike Bailey when Miyamoto grabbed the title belt (15:11).
*V3 for Yuko Miyamoto.
7. Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie defeated Akito with the Beast Bomber (14:20).

After disappearing off the face of the earth for a few months, Shigehiro Irie is back in DDT to win the KO-D Openweight Title. Standing in his way was Akito who was determined not to let Irie get what he wants after he abandoned the company. Irie overpowered Akito’s submissions and crushed him with a Diving Cannonball before getting the win with the Beast Bomber.

After the match Irie spotted Konosuke Takeshita sitting at the commentary table and demanded he get in the ring. Irie then challenged Takeshita to a KO-D Title match. Takeshita reminded Irie about the dark match they had in Korakuen Hall together in 2015. Takeshita has never forgotten about it and he will continue to be the champion. Producer Danshoku Dino showed up and gave his opinion about Irie. He does not care if Irie wants to break up DDT. All that matters is if Irie creates something new to take its place if he becomes the champion. Whether it is Takeshita or Irie on top, either future is something that Dino wants to see. The title match will take place on 29th April.

The DDT Extreme Title was hung above the ring for a Ladder match between Yuko Miyamoto and Mike Bailey. The ladder wasn’t the only dangerous object used in the match. A pile of chairs were stacked up as a creative substitute when a ladder wasn’t available but it just collapsed beneath them. When the ladder was brought in Miyamoto and Bailey went to town with crazy bumps. Miyamoto knocked Bailey off the ladder onto another one suspended against the ropes and was free to pull down the title belt. Miyamoto called Bailey a crazy wrestler then nominated his buddy HARASHIMA as the next challenger on 29th April. Their last singles match against each other happened 13 years ago in Triple Six.

Shuten-dōji bounced back from their Sumo Hall defeat by winning the 4 Way Tag Match. It got a bit crazy in the finishing stretch. Takeshita gave KUDO the German Suplex, Daisuke Sasaki gave Takeshita the Hurricanrana, Soma Takao hit Sasaki with a Thrust Kick, Shuji Ishikawa gave Takao the Fire Thunder, Yukio Sakaguchi hit Ishikawa with the Right Knee Of God then Shunma Katsumata caught a High Kick and gave Sakaguchi a Sit Down Power Bomb. Sakaguchi moved out of the way from Katsumata’s Moonsault and locked him into a Triangle Choke with a Kimura also applied to win. Masahiro Takanashi said that everyone in Shuten-dōji are starving for a drink and KUDO called today an exciting start for their next story.

Not sure how much I can write about the North America Vs Japan 6-Man Tag without getting this site blocked by web filters. Colt Cabana & Joey Ryan tricked Ethan Page into starting the match with Dino. Cabana got the crowd to chant “Okama Ichiban!” after they won.

Sanshiro Takagi & Toru Owashi were given the task of banishing a wrestler from DDT to keep the roster from overflowing. For weeks DDT wrestlers were selected based on negative and questionable qualities and today it was up to them to fight for their survival. Takagi & Owashi sat by a desk in the ring while everyone wrestled around them. Anyone who could pin an opponent or impress the judges would be spared and could leave the match. One by one the ring whittled down until Kazuki Hirata was the last wrestler left. The match turned into a 2 Vs 1 Handicap Match between Takagi & Owashi against Hirata. Takagi gave Hirata the Sit Down Himawari Bomb but from out of nowhere all of the other wrestlers rolled Hirata onto him and all piled up on top for the pin! Per the rules of the match, Takagi is now banished from DDT!

Takagi protested and tried to convince everyone it was only an April Fool’s joke. Owashi wouldn’t have any of it. He told Takagi he had to accept the stipulation. Takagi refused to leave and clung on to the bottom turnbuckle. Yuki Iino came out dressed as a sexy policeman and he lifted Takagi over to other wrestlers so they could carry him towards his banishment. DDT then announced that Francoise☆Takagi from T2HiJoshi will return on 29th April.

In the first match of his five match series, Gota Ihashi lost to Koji Kanemoto. Ihashi had the chance to win with the Moonsault but he missed and Kanemoto tapped him out with the Anklelock. Kanemoto motivated Ihashi to stand back up and cheered him up. It turns out Kanemoto also hates Riki Choshu! He encouraged Ihashi to continue the trial and if he needs to get stronger, Kanemoto will be there for him.

The new KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions went up against former champions and all of them came from DNA. The finish to that match came with Yuki Ueno hitting Mizuki Watase with a Missile Dropkick, Koju Takeda did the Hurricane Driver and Kota Umeda got the pin with the Umeda Driver. The champions haven’t decided when to hold their first defence yet.

Rekka focused his gameplan around an Elbow Stike move called the Taiwan Elbow. However it wasn’t enough to beat Tomomitsu Matsunaga.

DDT provided a few April Fool announcements at the start of the show. Their new logo is the inspiration for a brand new mascot, a wrestler who wears the logo as a mask. The second joke is DDT’s video team is busy doing nothing in regards to their “BETAMANIA” show on 23rd April. The final joke was a special Gota Ihashi brochure going on sale that costs 150,000 yen.

DDT is working with C.A.MOBILE to redesign DDT’s official websites and services. The plan is to merge the website, the fan club and DDT UNIVERSE into one service with different pricing tiers.

Kobashi said after the main event that she is on a diet and also doing muscle training to prepare for her TOKYO Princess Tag Team Titles match with Reika Saiki.

Kodaka complained about wrestling in the cold outdoors. He then brawled with SAGAT away from the ring area so they were both counted out. They later returned during the other BASARA match right when Ryuichi Sekine was about to submit Nakano with the Let’s Combine. The match was called off and all of the BASARA wrestlers agreed to have a 4 Way Match to make up for their blunders. The buckets of water returned and soaked everyone from the wrestlers to the audience who could not run away fast enough.

Rika Tatsumi escaped from Miu’s Canadian Backbreaker to win with the Twist Of Fate.
