After successfully defending the KO-D Tag Team Titles yesterday, ShunMao have been informed that their match against Kota Umeda & Tomomitsu Matsunaga later this month is now a title match. Both MAO & Shunma Katsumata have scary memories of Umeda from back in their DNA days so they are not looking forward to seeing him again. Tomomitsu Matsunaga is getting his second shot at the KO-D Tag Titles this year. He previously challenged for them with Jun Akiyama back in April.

Now this is the environment I want to see Kota Ibushi flourish in again! A 6-Man Tag Match with Kickboxing rules that I guess can be described as Falls Count Anywhere? I mean the person who gets beaten will be falling over after getting knocked out so that counts, right? The match mixes together several fighting disciplines too. Yukimitsu Takahashi is a pro kickboxer who has been learning from the Ibushi Wrestling Institute since last summer. He will also be fresh off of a kickboxing bout that is happening a few days before this show. Thanomsak Toba is there to represent Muay Thai. Takeshi Masada has a background in Shorinji Kempo. HARASHIMA is going to use “HERO! Martial Arts” That just leaves Gota Ihashi as the human punching bag.

War is breaking out between SCHADENFREUDE International and DAMNATION T.A! You can blame Ilusion for that after he betrayed SCHADENFREUDE and stabbed them all in the back to join DAMNATION T.A. It was a plan that Ilusion and DAMNATION have been in cahoots with together from the very beginning. An 8-Man Tag Match in Korakuen Hall might steal the show if the angle created enough heat for it.

It’s been so long since Satoshi Kojima last broke bread with DDT. Not counting “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2022”, he hasn’t wrestled in DDT since the end of 2012. His mighty Lariat might meet its match though. Shinichiro Kawamatsu is on the other team and he now has the Axe Bomber that was passed down to him from Hulk Hogan!

More war is breaking out but in mascot form! Touchi-kun is the mascot of the Japan Self-Defence Force’s Tokyo headquarters but his appearance in DDT yesterday made Pokotan very jealous. Jealous enough to make Pokotan attack the other mascot and get into a fight! The solution is to settle it in the ring, meaning Touchi-kun is going to make his pro wrestling debut.

Next Generation Tournament ’24 Brackets

A draw was held today to determine the bracket for the upcoming Next Generation Tournament starting this month. There was also the announced that the winner of this year’s tournament will be rewarded with a future championship match. They will get to choose if they want a shot at the Princess Of Princess Title, the Princess Tag Team Titles or the International Princess Title.

One of last year’s finalists opens up the tournament this time around. HIMAWARI is nervous but fired herself back up after Toga said she can only see herself winning this match. Toga also said the tournament feels fresher this year because of the inclusion of the 2024 Class.

It will be her first time wrestling somebody from the 2024 Class in a singles match and she is certain she has skills that Kira Summer does not have. Summer agrees that she is lacking in experience but believes in her own strength that she can win.

Just like Suzuki, Haru Kazashiro does not want to be standing in the sidelines watching the final again. She is determined not to lose in the 1st Round again and the reveal that the tournament winner gets a title shot is motivating her even more. Uta Takami is excited to enter her first tournament. It also makes her happy that her first opponent is Kazashiro and the match will be at Ryogoku KFC Hall because she loves both of them. She also said she is good at Rock-Paper-Scissors and that’s a good thing because luck might be a factor in who goes through.

Round 1 closes out with last year’s winner Wakana Uehara aiming to go two in a row. She wrestled Chika Nanase in a singles match back in June and sensed she has a hidden power, so she can be a threat. Nanase felt scared of this match at first but realised how big of an opportunity it is. You never know what will happen in pro wrestling so Nanase made it her goal to beat Uehara and knock her out of the tournament!

The first semi-final will be the winner of Toga/HIMAWARI against the winner of Suzuki/Summer. The second semi-final is the winner of Kazashiro/Takami against the winner of Uehara/Nanase. We could get a rematch from last year’s tournament depending on how the results go. HIMAWARI Vs Suzuki perhaps?
