Super Japan Continues, Is Hiroshi Too Scary for Nakatsu?

Heads up but I will be travelling over the next few days to see some wrestling in London, which includes “FORBIDDEN DOOR”. However it is kind of a light weekend of shows within the DDT circle so there should not be any delay in getting results and writing a report for the Tokyo Princess Cup semi finals on Saturday. I might be able to at post results of tomorrow’s Baka Gaijin + Friends show in the Philippines too. If not then that will be saved for the next DDT Around The World article at the end of the month.

An injury to Tomoya Hirata has taken him off the show. Takashi Sasaki will be taking his place in the Ganbare☆Pro Vs FREEDOMS match. Which he should have been part of in the first place because he’s been a frontal figure of this rivalry from the start.

BASARA has a path set towards Halloween for their next big Union MAX Title match. Ryota Nakatsu says he isn’t scared of defending the title against anybody but Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi thinks the champion has been ducking him. Hiroshi has recently formed a quartet with Speed Of Sounds and Gouma Ryu called WizRYU but Ryu isn’t a guy you can rely on for an Elimination Match so Masato Kamino is taking part instead. Nakatsu is relying on Hyakusho Ikki and Takumi Tsukamoto to back him up in the meantime.

Two members of the Super Family are challenging for the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles because SAGAT is already fed up with Kengo Mashimo & Ayumu Honda invading BASARA. He called upon Minoru Fujita to be his partner.

1. Special Single Match: Yuji Nagata Vs Shinya Aoki

So there wasn’t actually plans for Super Japan to last past the first show but Sanshiro Takagi was happy enough with how the launch did to run another event under the name. Yuji Nagata is still his pick to be the ace and he’ll get a far more serious match this time because his opponent is Shinya Aoki! There is a little bit of history here because Aoki defeated Yuji’s brother Katsuhiko Nagata in the DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix back in 2008.

Takagi himself is confident he can make a full return to the ring by the end of the year. However he isn’t sure if he can make it back in time for November’s Sumo Hall show. He also is only currently cleared by his doctor to do light exercises. With that being said, Takagi wants to shake off some ring rust so he will take part in an Exhibition Match with his old tag team partner Munenori Sawa. The bout is only scheduled to have a five minute time limit but Sawa has told Takagi he wants the two of them to go as wild as they can and cause some trouble!

MIKAMI and DJ Nira will be on the show.

1. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu (c) Vs Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi

Nakatsu has successfully defended the MAX Title against Hiroshi one time before back in February 2022. That was Hiroshi’s second time challenging for the belt. The other time was when it was revived to be used as BASARA’s top championship all the way back on Christmas Day of 2016.

The sixth D GENERATIONS show is going to be built around six singles matches. Sounds simple enough. It will also be the first time both Rukiya and Hinata Kasai will get to wrestle on the sub-brand.

You can’t do an entire year of Beer Garden shows without the Enter Sandman and Lariat Pro matches on at least one of them! Even if the song gets dubbed over on Wrestle Universe, the Enter Sandman match is exactly what it sounds like. What if DDT did an entire match based around The Sandman’s entrance? What likely won’t be dubbed though is the LariPro match. They usually get away with playing famous puroresu songs of Lariat users, Elbow Strike users, Yakuza Kick users, etc.

Back in April Akito and Kazuki Hirata experimented with doing a two match iron man series on back to back shows in Sapporo. They enjoyed doing it and had some time to work out some kinks so it is happening again for a second go around.

Hokkaido locals Tomoya and Ryuto will be on the show alongside Noriyuki Yoshida who already has both of his matches for the weekend booked.

Will be interesting to see what direction Kasai will go as a pro wrestler in his first few months. I don’t so much mean his wrestling style but more like how much charisma does he have from the get go?

Ryuto will be on this show too.
